Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds Under Pressure to Pardon Christian Who Destroyed Satanic Idol.

A demonic idol erected by The Satanic Temple inside the Iowa State Capitol was destroyed on Thursday. Iowa State Police say 35-year-old Michael Cassidy, a Christian veteran, was arrested for the act.

Cassidy, a former congressional candidate, was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief. A $20,000 war chest for his legal defense was crowdfunded within a matter of hours.

The Satanic Temple of Iowa complained in a Facebook post that part of the display was “beyond repair”. Its centerpiece statue of the horned demon Baphomet clutching a pentagram wreath was decapitated.

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, an ally of Ron DeSantis, has come under pressure to pardon Cassidy. It currently seems unlikely she will act, however, having described the Satanic idol in her state as “speech”.

“In a free society, the best response to objectionable speech is more speech, and I encourage all those of faith to join me today in praying over the Capitol and recognizing the Nativity scene that will be on display ― the true reason for the season,” she said.

A U.S. Secret Service (USSS) agent has been suspended and may soon be fired after mocking the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, who was shot and killed on September 10. Pough had blamed “karma” for Kirk’s murder saying, “[I]f you are Mourning this guy .. Pough added, “At the end of the day, you answer to GOD and speak things into existence. You can only circumvent karma, she doesn’t leave.”

He also had a history of opposing Trump administration initiatives, including the ban on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies, saying, “DEI stops NEPOTISM.”

In the wake of Charlie Kirk’s assassination at Utah Valley University, several public figures have faced backlash for comments accused of mocking or minimizing his death. A video emerged showing Representative Ilhan Omar (D‑MN) and former MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan laughing as they criticized Kirk’s past statements immediately following his killing.

Meanwhile, MSNBC terminated political analyst Matthew Dowd after he appeared to suggest that Kirk had, through his political style and rhetoric, invited “hateful action” against himself. Dowd later apologized, stating he never intended to imply Kirk was to blame for his murder.

The Pentagon has issued a “zero tolerance” directive for military personnel and Department of War civilians, warning that any celebration or mockery of Kirk’s assassination is strictly forbidden.

Kirk and Abaraonye had engaged in debate just months prior at an Oxford Union event in May, where they discussed issues including “toxic masculinity.”

Abaraonye has since issued a public apology, saying his reaction was impulsive, that the comments were made before Kirk was confirmed deceased, and that he deleted them once he learned of his passing. “Hey [Stephen King], you are more monstrous than any of the characters you ever came up with. Charlie was never anything but kind to me and my husband,” Dave Rubin, a prominent gay right-winger, wrote in response to King.

Others pointed to past statements by Kirk, including a November 2019 post on X: “I believe marriage is one man one woman. Also gay people should be welcome in the conservative movement. As Christians we are called to love everyone. I will always stand against people who wish to establish their own personal values as a reason to kick others out of the movement.”

Following the pushback, King, who infamously included a child orgy in a sewer in his novel It, deleted his post, writing, “I apologize for saying Charlie Kirk advocated stoning gays. What he actually demonstrated was how some people cherry-pick Biblical passages.”

The National Pulse reported last November that, following President Donald J. Trump’s landslide election victory, King had vowed to leave X. “I’m leaving Twitter. Soros’s Open Society Foundation (OSF) responded by denying any support for violent protests, calling the prosecution threats “outrageous.” The foundation claims it has consistently maintained a stance against violence.

This is not the first time President Trump has singled out George and Alex Soros as possible subjects of a RICO investigation. In an August post on Truth Social, Trump wrote: “George Soros, and his Wonderful Radical Left son, should be charged with RICO because of their support of Violent Protests, and much more, all throughout the United States of America. We’re not going to allow these lunatics to rip apart America any more, never giving it so much as a chance to ‘BREATHE,’ and be FREE.”

According to the Department of Justice (DOJ), the federal RICO statute—established in 1970—aims to eliminate organized crime’s infiltration into legitimate organizations. It is broad enough to address illegal activities impacting interstate or foreign commerce. Notably, Soros’s Open Society Foundations have financially supported groups involved in contentious protests and rallies, including one advocating for an accused MS-13 gang member.

Soros’s network has provided millions in funding to organizations such as CASA and Human Rights First, which have been involved in pro-illegal immigrant advocacy and lawsuits against Trump administration policies. Open Society Foundations also allegedly funneled significant funds to groups linked to anti-Israel protests, including those justifying Hamas’s October 7, 2023, terror attacks on Israel.

Soros’s foundations have reportedly funneled over $15 million to groups behind anti-Israel protests since 2016, including $13.7 million through the Tides Center.

Iran is urging Qatar to expel American military forces from Al Udeid Air Base—a regional command hub for U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM)—and instead allow Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to deploy missiles in the country. The move, ostensibly in response to Israel’s recent strike on the Qatari capital of Doha targeting leaders of the Hamas terrorist group, is unlikely to receive much serious consideration from Qatar’s government.

The Israeli strike on Tuesday killed a Qatari security officer and several Hamas members. Iran has accused the U.S. of complicity in the attack, putting Qatar in a precarious position. However, Iran also attacked Qatar earlier this year with missiles, after the United States bombed and destroyed several Iranian nuclear program facilities. Notably, the Iranian missiles were easily intercepted by U.S. air defenses in Qatar.

Mojtaba Zarei, an Iranian lawmaker, addressed Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in a statement on X (formerly Twitter). “I propose that the U.S. Army, accomplice of Israel, be expelled from Qatar, and that the Revolutionary Guard aerospace force deploy Fattah hypersonic missiles on your soil to defend your sovereignty,” he wrote in Farsi. Zarei also suggested that the emir should request support from the Revolutionary Guard in Qatar.

Iran’s armed forces have accused the U.S. of backing Israel’s actions, with Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi stating, “The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran will never hesitate to support our Qatari brothers.” However, U.S. President Donald J. Trump has clarified, “This was a decision made by Prime Minister Netanyahu; it was not a decision made by me,” and come out strongly against the attack.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has confirmed Israel’s sole responsibility for the operation.
