The RNC says it is ramping up efforts to ensure election integrity and maximize voter turnout for former President Donald Trump as he seeks to defeat President Joe Biden, the Democrat incumbent, in November. In an interview with Benny Johnson, newly elected RNC co-chair Lara Trump spoke in detail regarding the national Republican group’s 2024 election efforts. Republican election activist Scott Presler, who has been working to register and drive Republican turnout on his own, appears slated to join the RNC’s efforts officially.
“We have the first-ever election integrity division,” Lara Trump said, adding: “This is an entire wing of the building dedicated solely to that.” She continued: “Right now, you just talked about a lawsuit we have in Michigan; we have in twenty-three states seventy-eight lawsuits single-handedly to address this issue. To make it easier to vote and harder to cheat in 2024.” The former President’s daughter-in-law said the RNC’s goal is to undo the election–law changes made by Democrats in many states during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
Shifting to proactive steps the RNC will take to drive up turnout for Donald Trump, she said the group is implementing a “legal ballot harvesting” program which will involve the work of activist Scott Presler. “I’m going to have a call very soon with Scott Presler, who is an amazing vote registerer,” Lara Trump told Johnson. She continued: “He has registered so many people in this country. I think he’s fantastic. I want him on our legal ballot harvesting division.”
