Kamala Leans on John Fetterman to Bring in Blue-Collar Voters.

Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) is emerging as a key campaign surrogate for Vice President Kamala Harris in the closing days of the 2024 presidential election. She hopes to head off President Donald J. Trump’s surging support among blue-collar voters in Pennsylvania, and her campaign believes deploying Fetterman to rally voters in rural Pennsylvania counties will push the Democratic Vice President’s margins higher than President Joe Biden’s during the 2020 election.

Trump’s strong showing in the critical swing state looms large in the mind of the Harris campaign. Despite losing Pennsylvania to Biden in 2020, Trump saw a significant increase in his margins in the state’s more rural counties compared to his 2016 numbers. In rural Somerset County—about an hour outside Pittsburgh in western Pennsylvania—Trump carried the vote by 55 points in 2016. He defeated Biden by an even greater margin in the county during the 2020 election.

Hoping to narrow the margin in places like Somerset, the Harris campaign has dispatched Fetterman, the state’s junior Democratic Senator who has sometimes bucked the national party and has populist appeal. Over the final weeks before Election Day, Fetterman will host over a half dozen events across rural Pennsylvania, with an appeal to union voters and legacy Democrats being the primary focus.

Data released by the Teamsters Union in September suggests Trump is winning union households by a two-to-one margin over Harris. The labor union, with over one million members, has declined to endorse a presidential candidate for the first time in 28 years.

The Last Inflation/Jobs Numbers Before The Election Just Came Out.

Wall Street futures continued to slide Thursday after U.S. inflation data for September came in higher than expected, underlining issues with the Biden-Harris government’s handling of the economy. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 0.2 percent month-over-month and 2.4 percent annually, exceeding economists’ estimates and putting pressure on the Federal Reserve to continue adjusting interest rates.

The core inflation rate—which excludes food and energy prices—increased 3.3 percent year-on-year, surpassing predictions of 2.3 percent. Sustained inflation, particularly in the core figure, highlights the Biden-Harris government’s failure to bring prices under control despite promises to ease the financial burdens on American families.

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have exacerbated inflation through excessive government spending and poor economic policies. Harris, having replaced Biden as the Democratic presidential nominee, has been trying to distance herself from the government’s economic record. However, the 81-year-old President has been clear she was involved in all aspects of his maladministration.

Wall Street reacted negatively to the inflation data, with Dow E-minis falling 112 points (0.26 percent), S&P 500 E-minis down 21.5 points (0.37 percent), and Nasdaq 100 E-minis dropping 106.25 points (0.52 percent). Traders expect the Federal Reserve to ease interest rates by 25 basis points at its next meeting. Still, the ongoing inflationary pressure casts doubt on how effective such measures will be.

Furthermore, weekly jobless claims rose to 258,000, higher than the forecasted 230,000, suggesting labor market weaknesses. Previous data indicates that almost all jobs created under Biden-Harris have gone to migrants.

The uncertain economic outlook also weighs heavily on key sectors, with airline stocks like Delta, United, and American Airlines all posting losses.

Former President Donald J. Trump consistently outpolls Biden and Harris regarding inflation and the economy.

Trump Makes Rare Statement on Scottish Independence – ‘I Hope The UK Stays Together.’

Former President Donald J. Trump has said he hopes the United Kingdom will not break up, recalling how Scotland came close to leaving the Union in 2014. He made the comments during a conversation with Andrew Schulz, a comedian and podcaster who, like the former president, has a Scottish mother.

“I tell you what, England fought them for a thousand years trying to get ’em under tow—they couldn’t do it,” Trump said, saying his mother, Mary, from Scotland’s Western Isles, exemplified this national toughness.

Praising Mel Gibson‘s performance as Scottish independence leader Sir William Wallace in Braveheart, Trump recalled how even the Romans built walls—Hadrian’s Wall and the Antonine Wall—because they were “afraid” of the Scots, saying, “The Scottish people, they’re tough people, they’re good people, actually they’re very great people, [and] they’re good fighters.”

He noted his mother was a great admirer of the late Queen Elizabeth II and that terminating the United Kingdom would be “a hard breakup.”

“You know they tried to break up Scotland from the rest of the Empire, so to speak,” he said of the 2014 referendum on Scottish independence. “I hope it stays together; I hope it always stays together,” he added.

Despite being bigger by size and population, Trump noted that England could never subdue Scotland by force and that the two kingdoms eventually “married.”

James VI, King of Scots, became James I of England as well on the death of Elizabeth I in 1603—the Union of the Crowns. King James played a prominent role in the early settlement of the Americas, and the Scottish and English kingdoms—including Wales and Ireland as de facto dependencies of the English crown—agreed to a full political union in 1707, forming the Kingdom of Great Britain.

Trump to Launch Final 2024 Campaign Push with Rally at Historic New York City Venue.

Former President Donald J. Trump is set to hold a major rally at Madison Square Garden in New York City later this month. According to sources, the event is planned for October 27, nine days before Election Day. The gathering will reportedly follow a first-come, first-serve approach, anticipating a large attendance.

Trump, who recently addressed an observance in Florida commemorating the anniversary of the October 7 Hamas attacks on Israel, has attracted substantial crowds throughout the 2024 presidential campaign. Last month, approximately 16,000 supporters attended his rally at Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, Long Island. Earlier in the summer, up to 10,000 people congregated at Crotona Park in the Bronx, surpassing the venue’s permit limit of 3,500 attendees.

Madison Square Garden can accommodate up to 19,500 spectators. It has been the site of several key national conventions, including the Democratic gatherings in 1976, 1980, and 1992 and the Republican National Convention in 2004.

Trump is not new to the idea of a rally at this well-known arena. During an interview in February, he mentioned the possibility, citing changes in New York’s political landscape as a motivating factor. Trump expressed confidence that he could garner votes from a broader spectrum of New Yorkers, indicating a focused effort in the state for the upcoming election. In April, he again suggested that a rally at Madison Square Garden was imminent.

The Trump campaign has yet to comment officially on the event, but it is expected to send an announcement to supporters soon.

Populist Candidate Unexpectedly Tightens Key Senate Race.

The U.S. Senate in Nebraska is emerging as an unexpectedly tight contest between incumbent Senator Deb Fischer (R-NE) and independent candidate Dan Osborn, a U.S. Navy veteran and labor union leader. Typically a safe Republican seat, Osborn’s left-populism—and tacit backing by some national Democrats—has pushed the race into toss-up territory.

Polls suggest a surprisingly competitive race. An Independent Center survey last week showed Osborn leading Fischer, with 47 percent to her 42 percent. Additionally, a SurveyUSA poll sponsored by Osborn’s campaign indicated a narrow 45 percent to 44 percent lead for him. Notably, a New York Times/Siena College poll found Osborn ahead by 11 points in Nebraska’s second congressional district, which includes Omaha.

POPULIST OR CLOSET DEMOCRAT?

Osborn, previously known for leading a strike at Omaha’s Kellogg plant in 2021, filed to run as an independent candidate last October. Shortly after announcing his bid, he declined an endorsement by the Nebraska Democratic Party—stressing he’s been registered as nonpartisan in the state since 2004. Last month, he was endorsed by the Reform Party.

On the campaign trail, Osborn has found success combining a libertarian approach to social issues like abortion and marijuana legalization with pro-labor stances like raising the minimum wage and strengthening workers’ rights to organize a union. Additionally, he has stressed the need to secure the U.S. border and says he wants to cut taxes on overtime.

Osborn’s campaign has attracted significant outside funding, with $4 million in support primarily from the Retire Career Politicians PAC linked to the Sixteen Thirty Fund—the project of a Democrat dark money operation run by Arabella Advisors.

BAILING OUT FISCHER.

Fischer—a rancher who has served for over a decade in the Senate—was anticipated to have a reasonably easy path to reelection. However, the Nebraska Republican’s close ties to the anti-Trump Koch Network and her more neoconservative foreign policy views have left her open to a populist insurgency. Her polling weakness against Osborn has prompted the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) to step in with over half a million dollars in ads just a month before the election.

With a narrow controlling majority in the U.S. Senate up-for-grabs, the Nebraska Senate race could prove pivotal.

Melania Trump Has An Interesting Pen Pal.

First Lady Melania Trump revealed in her new memoir that she has an ongoing correspondence with British monarch King Charles III. The two are said to share a passion for conservation. In her new book Melania, Mrs Trump stated that she had first met King Charles III, then Charles, Prince of Wales, in New York in 2005 and subsequently met him again in 2019 during a state visit to the United Kingdom by her husband, President Donald J. Trump.

“Our paths had crossed many years ago in New York City. This time, we engaged in an interesting conversation about his deep-rooted commitment to environmental conservation,” the former First Lady writes in her book.

President Trump reportedly received a private letter from King Charles following an assassination attempt against him during a rally in Pennsylvania in July. Buckingham Palace has not disclosed the contents of the letter.

In an interview, a former royal aide asserted that Queen Elizabeth II, the former British monarch, regarded the Trumps as “gracious and wonderful” guests during the state visit in 2019.

“I spoke to the Queen subsequently after the state visit and other members of the royal household, and she told me she found them to be really gracious and wonderful guests to have in the palace,” the aide said.

Should Trump win the presidency next month, the current leftist Labour government may strain British-American relations. Britain’s Foreign Secretary David Lammy has called Trump a “neo-Nazi sympathizing sociopath” and a “tyrant” in the past. Other members of the Labour Party attempted to have Trump’s 2019 state visit canceled, accusing him of “xenophobia” and “misogyny.”

2024 Election Spending Will Break Records at $16 BILLION.

The total cost of the 2024 federal election is expected to hit $15.9 billion, making it the most expensive in history, according to OpenSecrets. Adjusted for inflation, this figure will fall short of the amount spent during the 2020 election, but this is largely due to reduced spending on presidential primaries this cycle—as Joe Biden faced no serious competition in the Democratic race prior to being replaced by Kamala Harris in behind-the-scenes deals. Donald Trump dominated the Republican race such that most of his competition crashed out early on.

OpenSecrets, a nonprofit that tracks political donations and spending, released this estimate in a recent report, highlighting key trends in the current election cycle. Sarah Bryner, OpenSecrets’ Director of Research and Strategy, noted, “Spending on the 2024 election cycle started slowly but ramped up significantly when Vice President Harris took over the Democratic nomination.”

“While it may be true that after inflation adjustments, 2024 doesn’t exceed the 2020 records, we must also remember that 2020 itself smashed previous records,” she added.

So far, outside groups, including super PACs, have spent approximately $2.6 billion on the 2024 federal elections. If current trends continue, OpenSecrets projects outside spending could exceed $5 billion by Election Day.

The top 10 individual donors have contributed $599 million, accounting for about 7 percent of the total federal election fundraising. With less than a month until Election Day, spending is expected to surge further.

“There may be a saturation point where elections can no longer get more expensive, but we haven’t reached it yet,” remarked Brendan Glavin, OpenSecrets’ Deputy Research Director,

Hungary’s PM Says Champagne Will Flow if Trump Wins.

Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban has stated that he will pop open the champagne if President Donald J. Trump wins the White House next month, as Trump will solve the war in Ukraine. Orban, who is noted for his anti-mass migration, pro-family, and socially conservative policies, expressed his support for President Trump’s potential victory while addressing lawmakers at the European Parliament in Strasbourg. He indicated he would “open several bottles of Champagne” to mark Trump’s win.

The Hungarian leader also commented on the implications of a Trump presidency for Europe. He suggested that Trump could resolve the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, which borders Hungary, before his potential inauguration in January. Trump has already stated he intends to broker a deal between Ukraine and Russia to stop the fighting.

His comments come amidst tension between Hungary and the European Union (EU) over Hungary’s stances on immigration and the conflict in Ukraine. Budapest turns away would-be illegal immigrants and has been reluctant to approve EU measures arming Ukraine and sanctioning Russia, angering the bloc. Orban has also refrained from participating in Western arms supplies to the Ukrainian military.

During conversations with journalists, Orban maintained that a ceasefire is necessary and expressed doubt over Ukraine’s ability to secure victory militarily. He urged the EU to reconsider its current strategy, implying that the existing approach is ineffective and could lead to a serious failure.

Earlier this year, Orban visited Russia’s President Vladimir Putin, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and President Trump. He discussed negotiating an end to the fighting with all three leaders.

The Hungarian leader has been a consistent Trump ally, claiming last year that Trump can “save the West.”

Kamala’s Running Mate Tim Walz Just Said The Quiet Part Out Loud.

Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) was caught advocating for the total eradication of America’s Electoral College, advocating for a national popular vote to decide presidential elections instead. Speaking at a campaign fundraising event hosted by Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA), Walz criticized the current electoral system, arguing it does not reflect the majority’s will. Walz’s comments come as his running mate, Vice President Kamala Harris, has lost ground to President Donald J. Trump in several critical swing states.

“I think all of us know the Electoral College needs to go,” Walz told donors at Newsom’s residence on Tuesday.”We need a national popular vote that is something. But that’s not the world we live in.”

The 2024 Democratic Party’s vice presidential nominee emphasized the need for change during separate fundraisers in California and Seattle, Washington. According to reports, Walz described himself as a “national popular vote guy” and lamented that the current political reality necessitates winning 270 electoral votes.

In recent history, both Hillary Clinton in 2016 and Al Gore in 2000 won the popular vote but did not garner enough Electoral College votes to win the White House.

The Electoral College system is designed to preserve the Republic as a union of States, in which the largest states cannot simply override the interests of smaller states by the weight of their populations. The eradication of the Electoral College would doubtless be an act of wanton constitutional vandalism, with its roots in the 1787 Constitutional Convention.

Responding to Walz’s statements, a spokesman for the Kamala Harris campaign emphasized the focus on securing the necessary electoral votes. Harris has refrained from endorsing any alterations to the Electoral College in the current campaign despite previous openness to the discussion in her first presidential run.

The Trump campaign criticized Walz’s position, questioning on social media why he appears to hate the Constitution.

Doug Emhoff’s Colleagues Are Speaking Out… And It Ain’t Good For Him!

New allegations are being leveled against Dough Emhoff, the husband of Vice President Kamala Harris, regarding his conduct at the law firm Venable, where he was a partner prior to becoming the country’s first Second Gentleman. The accusations come on the heels of a report that Emhoff violently slapped a former girlfriend during an event at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival.

Former Venable colleagues are accusing Emhoff of exhibiting misogynistic behavior and favoritism. They allege he used expletives toward female colleagues, organized male-only office gatherings, and showed preference towards younger and more attractive associates.

In 2019, former legal secretary Marjan Rabbi filed a lawsuit against other partners at Venable, claiming sex discrimination and citing Emhoff by name. The lawsuit suggested that Emhoff hired an “unqualified” secretary due to her appearance and friendliness with influential men in the office. Although the lawsuit did not name Emhoff as a defendant, the allegations against him contribute to a broader narrative challenging his public image as a feminist ally.

Emhoff has been the subject of several scandals involving women, including an allegation of an affair with a nanny during his first marriage, resulting in the woman becoming pregnant. Emhoff and a spokesman have denied these allegations, although he admits to adultery.

In recent interviews, Emhoff has emphasized redefining masculinity and support for women, contrasting sharply with the accusations from his former workplace. Vice President Harris, in unrelated comments, has encouraged victims of sexism and abuse to speak out.

Emhoff’s past as a lawyer also includes work on controversial cases, such as defending a nightclub owner in a harassment case and representing a pharmaceutical company in a lawsuit over the side effects of a drug it produced.
