Former President Donald J. Trump says the latest man to try to assassinate him “believed the rhetoric of Biden and Harris, and he acted on it.” Ryan Routh, suspected of lying in wait for the America First leader with an AK-47-style rifle at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Sunday, is a Democrat donor and regurgitated Biden and Harris’s rhetoric about the former president being a threat to democracy on social media. Pictures also show a truck at his address sported a ‘Biden-Harris’ sticker.
“Their rhetoric is causing me to be shot at, when I am the one who is going to save the country, and they are the ones that are destroying the country, both from the inside and out,” Trump said of the Democratic president and his deputy.
He highlighted comments from the pair casting him as a “threat to democracy” and themselves as “unity” leaders.
“They are the opposite. These are people that want to destroy our country,” Trump said, explaining: “It is called the enemy from within. They are the real threat.”
During the debate between Trump and Harris, the Vice President claimed there would be no “guardrails” restraining Trump if he is reelected and that “It’s up to the American people to stop him.”
“These are the things that dangerous fools like the shooter listen to. That is the rhetoric they listen to, and the same with the first one,” Trump said, referring to Thomas Crooks, who shot him through the ear in Butler, Pennsylvania.
“They use highly inflammatory language,” he added.

Ryan Routh, the suspect in the latest attempted assassination of former President Donald J. Trump at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, has donated to Democratic Party funding platform ActBlue at least 19 times, per Federal Election Commission (FEC) records. The string of small donations, starting in 2019, total over $140.
Reports suggest Routh made it within around 300 yards of the America First leader with a scoped AK-47-style rifle—and a GoPro video camera—before U.S. Secret Service (USSS) agents spotted him taking aim from some bushes. The AK-47’s effective range is around 380 yards, meaning that the USSS may have once again put the former president in a situation where only the incompetence of his attempted killer saved his life.
USSS agents opened fire on Routh but did not hit him, and he was able to flee the scene, getting into a blackcar and making his escape. It was the Martin County Sheriff’s Office that eventually took Routh into custody after receiving a picture of the getaway vehicle taken by an eyewitness.
Comments on social media attributed to Routh contain rhetoric identical to that of Kamala Harris and Joe Biden, suggesting Trump will put an end to democracy if he returns to the White House, raising questions about the extent to which Democrat rhetoric inspired the attack.

The man named by law enforcement sources as Donald Trump’s latest would-be assassin repeated rhetoric from Kamala Harris and Joe Biden claiming the America First leader is an existential threat to democracy, raising questions about the extent to which they inspired him. An X (formerly Twitter account) linked to suspect Ryan Routh, 58, posted in April: “DEMOCRACY is on the ballot, and we cannot lose. We cannot afford to fail.”
Both Biden and his vice president have been suggesting that Trump will end democracy if reelected for months. Harris posted that “Democracy is on the ballot” on July 2, alongside a picture of Trump with a misleading caption about him vowing to “be a dictator on day one.”
She made similar or identical claims on July 11, July 6, and June 21, adding, “[Democracy] is only as strong as our willingness to fight for it.”
In their recent debate, Harris escalated her anti-Trump rhetoric to a fever pitch, saying: “[U]nderstand the context in which this election in 2024 is taking place. The United States Supreme Court recently ruled that the former president would essentially be immune from any misconduct if he were to enter the White House again… Understand what it would mean if Donald Trump were back in the White House with no guardrails. Because certainly, we know now the court won’t stop him. We know J.D. Vance is not going to stop him. It’s up to the American people to stop him.”
Trump responded, “I probably took a bullet to the head because of the things that they say about me,” referring to the previous attempt on his life in Butler, Pennsylvania.
“They talk about democracy; I’m a ‘threat to democracy.’ They’re the threat to democracy,” he said.

On Friday, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled that mail ballots must include a proper date on their return envelopes to be valid, potentially affecting thousands of voters this November. This decision vacated an earlier ruling from August 30 by the Commonwealth Court, which had found the state’s dating requirement to be an unconstitutional violation of voters’ rights.
The Court’s ruling was based on jurisdictional grounds, which determined that the Commonwealth Court lacked subject matter jurisdiction due to the failure to name the county boards of elections of all 67 counties.
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the Public Interest Law Center brought the original suit on behalf of several leftist “voting rights” groups. They argued the dating requirement imposed by Act 77, the state’s mail voting law established in 2020, violated the free and equal elections clause of the Pennsylvania Constitution. This clause mandates that elections must be free and equal, with no power allowed to interfere with the right to vote.
Previously, a Commonwealth Court panel had agreed with the plaintiffs, ruling that rejecting properly cast but undated ballots would infringe on the fundamental right to vote. Judge Ellen Ceisler, writing for the majority, emphasized that such a refusal was legally unjustifiable.
Non-compliance could lead to the rejection of thousands of ballots, as witnessed during the April primary, where about 4,400 were rejected over dating issues.
Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Whatley hailed the decision as crucial for election integrity in Pennsylvania, a critical state for the upcoming elections.

Data guru Harry Enten is questioning whether Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Kamala Harris will provide a much-needed boost among the youth vote for the 2024 Democratic Party’s presidential nominee. According to the CNN analyst, Harris has lagged far behind the margins by which the 81-year-old incumbent Joe Biden won young voters in the 2020 election.
“Why does Kamala Harris welcome Taylor Swift’s support, why does she need the help?” Enten said during a Thursday segment reviewing pollingdata. “Let’s just point out something that I have been noting all along during this campaign, and that is the underperformance that both Joe Biden—and now even Kamala Harris—has among young voters.”
The data, reviewed by Enten, shows Biden with a 28-point polling margin over Trump among voters aged 18 to 29 in September of 2020. However, by July this year, Biden’s margin had collapsed to just seven points. Meanwhile, his data for Harris shows her with only a weak improvement over Biden’s 2024 numbers, clocking a 15-point margin this month.
Despite the Swift endorsement, Enten remains skeptical that Harris’s margin among young voters will significantly improve or match Biden’s margins in 2020. “The bottom line is Kamala Harris is—in fact—not doing as well among young voters as you might expect a Democrat to necessarily be doing based upon history.”
In addition to the youth vote being less enthusiastic about Harris than perceived, Enten notes that in several crucial swing states—namely Pennsylvania and North Carolina—Republicans have reversed the Democratic registration advantage. In both states, Democrats held around a 500,000 voter advantage in 2020. That lead has been erased, with Republicans now holding around a 150,000 vote advantage in both states.

Former U.S. Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell has accused the country‘s far-left government of interfering in the U.S. Presidential elections with an X (formerly Twitter) post “fact-checking” former President Donald J. Trump following his debate with Vice President Kamala Harris.
Grenell reacted to a post by the German Foreign Office—roughly equivalent to the U.S. State Department—which criticized Trump’s statements on energy security. The former president noted the Germans, after pushing renewable energy policies hard, were forced to turn back to “normal energy plants.”
The German post said, “Like it or not, Germany’s energy system is fully operational, with more than 50 percent renewables.”
“And we are closing—and not building—coal-fired and nuclear power plants. Coal will be off the grid by 2038 at the latest. PS: We don’t eat cats and dogs either,” they added.
Grenell reacted to the Tweet, stating, “The blatant election interference from the German government is worse than the Russian and Iranian interference.”
Grenell later noted that German media has largely vindicated Trump’s comments on renewables, stating that the 50 percent renewable figure is limited to electricity production only, not energy overall. Only around a fifth of Germany’s total energy consumption is covered by renewables. It is also true that the Germans had to reactivate many coal-fired power plants to get through winter.
The German jibe about eating cats and dogs—a reference to Trump mentioning reports of Haitian migrants killing animals in Springfield, Ohio—was also ill-advised, as the European country has experienced confirmed cases of migrants killing and eating people’s pets.

Mark Penn, a former advisor to the Bill and Hillary Clinton campaigns, says ABC News must launch an investigation into Tuesday’s presidential debate to determine whether employees attempted “rigging the outcome.” The network is facing significant criticism over its handling of the debate between Donald J. Trump and Kamala Harris, in which they frequently interrupted “fact-checked” the former president. On the other hand, Harris was never corrected by the moderators—despite making several false or misleading claims.
“I actually think they should do a full internal investigation, hire an outside law firm. I don’t know how much of this was planned in advance,” Penn said in a recent interview on the John Solomon Reports podcast. “I don’t know what they told the Harris campaign. I think the day after, suspicion here is really quite high, and I think a review of all their internal texts and emails really should be done by an independent party to find out to what extent they were planning on, in effect, you know, fact-checking just one candidate and in effect, rigging the outcome of this debate. I think the situation demands nothing less than that.”
The National Pulse conducted its own fact-check of Kamala Harris, noting at least nine blatant false statements made by the 2024 Democratic Party presidential nominee. In addition, it was revealed shortly before the debate that Kamala Harris has maintained a close friendship with ABC News executive Dana Walden for at least 30 years.

Newly released crime statistics show violent crimes, including aggravated assaults, robberies, and rapes, have increased under the Biden-Harris government. During the recent debate between Donald J. Trump and Kamala Harris, the former president said crime is “through the roof” since he left office, driven in part by migrant crime. ABC News moderator David Muir interjected to claim, “The FBI says overall violent crime is coming down,” but the new figures—released by the Biden-Harris Justice Department—vindicate the America First leader.
In 2020, Trump’s last full year in office, 1,569,390 violent crimes, excluding simple assaults, were recorded. The figure had risen to 2,485,830 by 2023. (Simple assaults are also up, from 2,988,770 to 3,933,230.)
Rapes and sexual assaults, in particular, are up from 319,950 in 2020 to 481,020 in 2023. Robberies are up from 437,260 to 731,620, and so-called “stranger violence” is up from 1,973,200 to an astonishing 3,233,400.
While some may argue crime could have been lower than usual in 2020 due to coronavirus restrictions limiting people’s movements, every non-domestic violent crime type listed in the Justice Department’s report is also up compared to 2019, before the pandemic.
Vice President Harris has touted herself as a law enforcement candidate, citing her background as a Democrat district attorney and state attorney general. However, Trump argues she is the “original Marxist district attorney,” overseeing soft-on-crime policies in California and lobbying for cashless bail and the defunding of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as a Senator.

Vice President Kamala Harris bragged about securing access to transgender drug therapies and surgeries for criminals as California‘s Attorney General during her run for the Democrats’ 2020 presidential nomination. During their recent election debate, former President Donald J. Trump said that Harris “wants to do transgender operations on illegal aliens that are in prison”—a claim dismissed as ridiculous by liberal commentators despite being demonstrably true.
“When I was [California’s] Attorney General, I learned that the California Department of Corrections, which was a client of mine—I didn’t get to choose my clients … they were standing in the way of surgery for prisoners,” Harris said in 2019.
“And there was a specific case. When I learned about the case, I worked behind the scenes to not only make sure that that transgender woman got the services she was deserving… I made sure that they changed the policy in the State of California so that every transgender inmate in the prison system would have access to the medical care that they desire and need.”
Also in 2019, Harris filled out a questionnaire for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), asking if she would implement various far-left policies. On the question of taxpayer-funded transgenderism for criminals and illegal aliens in custody, she confirmed she would use “executive authority to ensure that transgender and non-binary people who rely on the state for medical care—including those in prison and immigration detention—will have access to comprehensive treatment associated with gender transition, including all necessary surgical care.”
Harris also committed to imposing sweeping cuts to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

During her run for the Democratic Party’s 2020 nomination, Kamala Harris told the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) that she is committed to many far-left policies. In addition to supporting taxpayer-funded transgender surgeries for illegal aliens in prison, raised by Donald Trump during the recent presidential debate, she also backed massive cutbacks to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) funding, an end to ICE detainers, and citizenship for 11 million illegals.
“Throughout my career, I have made it clear that law enforcement should use their time and resources to keep communities safe, not act as federal immigration agents,” she wrote on an ACLU questionnaire, which asked if she would “commit to ending the use of ICE detainers,” in 2019.
She boasted that, as California‘s Attorney General, she “issued a bulletin on December 4, 2012, informing all California law enforcement that they did not have to comply with ICE detainers”—a sanctuary measure that results in foreign criminal suspects and convicts wanted by ICE being released among the public after leaving jail or prison, instead of being handed over for deportation.
Harris further committed to making ICE “end the use of detainers” generally as President.
DEFUNDING ICE.
In addition to removing ICE’s detainer powers, Harris told the ACLU she would starve the agency of resources, boasting: “I was one of the first Senators after President Trump was elected to advocate for a decrease in funding to ICE.”
Referring to legislation she introduced to Congress as a Senator, she added, “As President, I will fight to pass my DONE (Detention Oversight Not Expansion) Act into law which would increase oversight of Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facilities, slash detention by at least 50 percent, and halt funding for the construction or expansion of new facilities.”
She also said she would “close private immigration detention centers” and “fight to pass immigration reform with a pathway to citizenship for the 11 million plus” illegal aliens “living in our communities and contributing to our economy.”
She reiterated this promise in several places throughout the questionnaire, stressing: “I will prioritize immigration reform with a pathway to citizenship for the 11 million plus” illegal aliens in America.
Other policy commitments included making Washington, D.C., a state, using presidential pardon and clemency powers to free drug convicts, and giving the vote to convicted felons: “Restoring voting rights for every American who has completed their prison sentence will be my priority as President,” she wrote.
