The E. Jean Carroll Judge Is Back, Telling Trump to Give Illegal Immigrants Better Toilets.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: A federal court ordered President Donald J. Trump’s administration to improve detention conditions for illegal immigrants at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Manhattan.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Trump administration, Bill Clinton-appointed U.S. District Court Judge Lewis Kaplan, illegal immigrant plaintiff Sergio Alberto Barco Mercado, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

📍WHEN & WHERE: The order was issued on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, in New York.

💬KEY QUOTE: “They are also being subjected to unsanitary and unsafe conditions, sleeping for days or weeks on a concrete floor with only an aluminum blanket, often with insufficient space to even lie down, often sleeping near the toilets.” — Attorney Heather Gregorio.

🎯IMPACT: Juge Kaplan has given the Trump administration until August 26 to comply, though he also indicated he may move forward with a broader restraining order and injunction against the White House if he certifies a class for class action before then.

IN FULL

A federal court ordered President Donald J. Trump‘s administration to improve detention conditions for illegal immigrants at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Manhattan, New York, late Tuesday. The ruling stems from a lawsuit brought by a Peruvian illegal immigrant who alleges detainees are held in cramped conditions.

The order, issued by U.S. District Court Judge Lewis Kaplan—a Bill Clinton appointee who also presided over the E. Jean Carroll defamation trial against President Donald J. Trump—stipulates that ICE must provide each detainee held overnight with a bedding mat and ensure that toilets are cleaned three times a day. Additionally, Judge Kaplan ordered that ICE must allow detainees to make a private phone call with their attorney within 24 hours of detention and that they be given an information sheet that informs them they can request bottles of water and an extra meal, among other amenities.

Juge Kaplan has given the Trump administration until August 26 to comply, though he also indicated he may move forward with a broader restraining order and injunction against the White House if he certifies a class for class action before then. Notably, the only plaintiff—at the moment—is Sergio Alberto Barco Mercado, an illegal immigrant from Peru, and his main gripe appears to be that between 40 and 90 detainees are forced to share a handful of toilets. Notably, paying airline passengers experience a similar ratio of person-to-toilet access—or worse.

“They are also being subjected to unsanitary and unsafe conditions, sleeping for days or weeks on a concrete floor with only an aluminum blanket, often with insufficient space to even lie down, often sleeping near the toilets,” Barco Mercado’s attorney, Heather Gregorio, complained during the hearing.

The Trump administration argued that ICE follows federal legal standards but conceded that it was working to increase hygiene access for detainees regardless.

Over 50,000 Illegals Have Reached England in Small Boats.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: The number of migrants crossing the English Channel in small boats since Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer’s Labour Party came to power has surpassed 50,000, according to Home Office data.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Britain’s Labour government, the formerly governing Conservative Party, illegal immigrants, and people-smuggling gangs.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Between July 5, 2024, and August 11, 2024, across the English Channel.

💬KEY QUOTE: “As I predicted 5 years ago, unless we deport illegal migrants the invasion will be huge. 50,000 since our weak Prime Minister took office and there is no sign of it stopping.” – Reform Party leader Nigel Farage

🎯IMPACT: The milestone highlights ongoing challenges in addressing illegal immigration and the political difficulties faced by the government.

IN FULL

Over 50,000 migrants have crossed the English Channel in small boats since Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer’s Labour Party returned to power last year, according to figures from the British Home Office—roughly equivalent to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). On August 11 alone, 474 migrants made the illegal journey across the Channel from France, bringing the total since Labour’s July 2024 general election win to 50,271. This figure is 13,925 higher than the total recorded over the same period before Labour regained office.

Responding to the milestone, Baroness Smith, a Labour minister in the Home Office, said the number represented “an unacceptable number of people” but claimed that the government was making progress. “People-smuggling gangs have become increasingly influential in recent years, exploiting vulnerable people and profiting from their desperation,” Smith said.

The surge in small boat arrivals has drawn sharp criticism from the opposition. Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp called the situation “the worst illegal immigration crisis in our history” and accused the government of failing to control the border. “This is a taxpayer-funded ferry service for the people-smuggling trade. Every illegal immigrant should be removed immediately upon arrival,” he said.

However, the Channel crossings began when Philp’s Conservative (Tory) Party was in office and grew progressively worse, with successive Conservative prime ministers showing no signs of making progress on the issue.

“As I predicted 5 years ago, unless we deport illegal migrants the invasion will be huge,” commented Reform Party leader Nigel Farage, who played a large part in exposing the Channel crisis and exposing the role of the French and British authorities in facilitating the crossings. “50,000 since our weak Prime Minister took office and there is no sign of it stopping,” he lamented.

Over 100K Americans Have Applied for Trump’s Nationwide ICE Expansion.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Over 100,000 Americans have applied for roles with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) following a recruitment drive launched at the end of July.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: ICE, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem, Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons, and President Donald J. Trump’s administration.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Recruitment began at the end of July 2025; applications have been received nationwide.

💬KEY QUOTE: “This is a defining moment in our nation’s history. Your skills, your experience, and your courage have never been more essential. Together, we must defend the homeland.” – Kristi Noem

🎯IMPACT: ICE has received over 100,000 applications and is offering incentives such as signing bonuses and student loan benefits amid an unprecedented mass deportation effort.

IN FULL

Over 100,000 Americans have submitted applications for jobs at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) following the launch of a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) hiring campaign in late July. The Trump administration initiative seeks to add 10,000 more ICE personnel amid an unpl, providing various perks and easing some qualification restrictions.

In a statement, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem stressed the significance of the hiring push. “This is a defining moment in our nation’s history. Your skills, your experience, and your courage have never been more essential. Together, we must defend the homeland,” she said. Noem emphasized that ICE agents are responsible for deporting “the worst of the worst criminals” from the nation.

To draw in applicants, ICE is providing sign-on bonuses as high as $50,000, along with programs for repaying or forgiving student loans, and additional perks.

This hiring campaign occurs amid DHS statistics showing an 830 percent surge in attacks against ICE agents, a number that Noem indicated has now climbed to 1,000 percent.

Todd Lyons, the acting ICE Director, has drawn attention to the difficulties ICE agents encounter because of the open border policies of the former Biden-Harris government: “The dedicated men and women of ICE now face unprecedented challenges in removing millions of criminal illegal aliens from our country,” he said.

The ICE hiring portal features various positions such as deportation officer, criminal investigator, and general attorney. It also responds to worries about occupational hazards, noting that agents are “expertly trained” and that all possible measures are implemented to protect them. Every candidate for law enforcement positions will be subject to health evaluations, substance screenings, and fitness tests during recruitment.

Trump Takes Back Border Wall Materials Biden Tried to Sell Off.

Miles of border wall materials bought in President Donald Trump’s first term—which the Biden regime tried to sell off—have been reclaimed by the Trump administration.

The backstory: In January 2021, Biden halted construction of the southern border wall which had begun under Trump. This left up to $350 million worth of steel panels and bollards stranded.

  • Beginning in June 2024, through December (after Trump won), Biden’s Department of Defense was selling off parts at dirt-cheap prices—including $1-per-panel deals—through an auction company called GovPlanet, which specializes in selling surplus government materials.

Trump reclaims the wall: After negotiations with Trump’s Office of the Border Czar, GovPlanet agreed to return them “at-cost” within the next 90 days.

  • GovPlanet says it agreed to these terms in order to “protect the millions of dollars U.S. taxpayers have already invested” in the border wall.

The numbers: Border crossings have plummeted since Trump returned to office. In July. Customs and Border Protection apprehended 6,177 illegals – an all-time low. None were allowed to enter the U.S.

What happens next? These materials will get put to good use. The recently passed Big, Beautiful Bill earmarked nearly $50 billion for the construction of the border wall.

The British Government Lost Over 150,000 Migrants.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: The British government admitted losing track of over 150,000 migrants who entered on five-year social care visas.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Britain’s governing Labour Party, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, Care Minister Stephen Kinnock, missing migrants, and the formerly governing Conservative (Tory) Party.

📍WHEN & WHERE: United Kingdom, 2025.

💬KEY QUOTE: “[I]t is not possible to estimate the number or proportion of individuals who entered the UK on a social care work visa and who are still in the UK or working in the social care sector,” claimed Stephen Kinnock.

🎯IMPACT: The fiasco highlights the British government’s inability to monitor visa holders’ long-term residence or employment.

IN FULL

The British government has admitted that it has lost over 150,000 migrants who entered the United Kingdom on social care visas. Officials cannot confirm whether they remain employed in the care sector or even if they are still in the country.

Many of these migrants arrived during the “Boriswave,” when former Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his successor Rishi Sunak loosened already weak immigration controls after the Wuhan virus pandemic and greatly increased the annual influx of legal migrants.

Johnson’s 2022 reforms added social care staff, mostly intended to work in nursing homes, to a hugely expanded “skilled worker” route, leading to 154,402 five-year visas being issued. Current Care Minister Stephen Kinnock, of Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer’s Labour Party, told Parliament his department “does not hold data that directly links visa status to ongoing employment in adult social care or residence in the United Kingdom over time.”

Kinnock claimed that “it is not possible to estimate the number or proportion of individuals who entered the UK on a social care work visa and who are still in the UK or working in the social care sector.”

The Labour-controlled Home Office, roughly equivalent to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), blamed the previous Conservative government for the fiasco, claiming Labour “inherited a data system which was not designed to monitor the long-term outcomes of health and care visa holders—including whether they remain in Britain or continue working in the social care sector.”

Public anger over mass migration and border control failures has sparked protests in Britain. Critics accuse both major parties of negligence, with voters turning to Nigel Farage’s Reform Party in growing numbers.

Illegal Immigrant Sentenced to Life for Rape, Murder of Rachel Morin.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Illegal migrant Victor Martinez-Hernandez was sentenced to life in prison for the rape and murder of Rachel Morin.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Victor Martinez-Hernandez, Rachel Morin, Harford County State Attorney Alison Healey, and Rachel Morin’s family members.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The crime occurred in August 2023 on the Ma and Pa Trail in Bel Air, Maryland. Sentencing took place on August 11, 2025.

💬KEY QUOTE: “You are not a candidate for rehabilitation. There is simply no hope to rehabilitate you.” – Judge during sentencing.

🎯IMPACT: The case underscores the impact of illegal immigration and poor border security on public safety.

IN FULL

Victor Martinez-Hernandez, an illegal immigrant from El Salvador, has been sentenced to life in prison for the rape and murder of Rachel Morin, a 37-year-old mother of five. The crime occurred in August 2023 on the Ma and Pa Trail in Bel Air, Maryland. Martinez-Hernandez was found guilty of first-degree murder, first-degree rape, and kidnapping earlier this year.

During the sentencing hearing, Harford County State Attorney Alison Healey described Martinez-Hernandez as “completely and entirely unamenable to treatment or rehabilitation” while seeking the maximum sentence. The judge concurred, stating, “You are not a candidate for rehabilitation. There is simply no hope to rehabilitate you. You took a life that was not yours to take.”

Rachel Morin’s body was discovered in a tunnel drain along the hiking trail, with an autopsy revealing she died from strangulation and blunt-force trauma. Police reported that Martinez-Hernandez had been living illegally in the United States since February 2023, just months before the attack. He had also been linked to a previous murder in El Salvador through an INTERPOL warrant.

The case has sparked renewed criticism of U.S. immigration policies under former President Joe Biden. Harford County Sheriff Jeff Gahler stated, “The failure here, again, is the immigration system that allowed this person to enter our country illegally and remain in our country and commit crimes.”

Rachel’s mother, Patty Morin, has met with President Donald J. Trump and testified before Congress, emphasizing that her daughter’s death could have been prevented with proper border protocols and a simple DNA swab.

President Trump also weighed in during the murder trial, calling Martinez-Hernandez “an MS-13 Gang Member and Foreign Terrorist from El Salvador” and criticizing the former Biden-Harris government’s immigration policies. Trump pledged, “We will never forget Rachel Morin and are committed to protecting women like her across our Country.”

Trump Seeks SCOTUS Intervention to Restore Full ICE Powers in L.A.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: President Donald J. Trump’s Solicitor General is asking the Supreme Court to override restrictions on ICE operations imposed by judges in Los Angeles and California.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: President Donald J. Trump, Solicitor General D. John Sauer, U.S. District Judge Maame Ewusi-Mensah Frimpong, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Central District of California, with an appeal filed with the Supreme Court late Thursday.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Every day that the district court’s order remains in effect, law-enforcement officers throughout the most populous district in the country are laboring under the threat of judicial contempt.” – D. John Sauer

🎯IMPACT: The case highlights a clash between enforcing federal immigration laws and judicial curbs that critics argue hinder ICE operations.

IN FULL

President Donald J. Trump’s legal team has taken its case to the U.S. Supreme Court, seeking to overturn judicial limitations on U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activities in California. These limitations were put in place by Judge Maame Ewusi-Mensah Frimpong in the Central District of California and have sparked ongoing conflict between federal immigration officials and the courts.

Solicitor General D. John Sauer criticized the restrictions, claiming they have significantly disrupted federal immigration enforcement in an area that includes approximately two million illegal immigrants. He defended ICE’s discretion and decision-making during operations, remarking, “Needless to say, no one thinks that speaking Spanish or working in construction always creates reasonable suspicion.”

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld Judge Frimpong’s ruling, agreeing that characteristics such as language, ethnicity, occupation, or race do not amount to reasonable grounds for initiating stops. According to the court, these elements form a generalized profile rather than pointing to particular unlawful behavior.

Sauer cautioned that the order continues to hamper law enforcement efforts in the most densely populated federal district in the nation, stating, “Every day that the district court’s order remains in effect, law-enforcement officers throughout the most populous district in the country are laboring under the threat of judicial contempt.” He further argued that such legal constraints hinder agents’ ability to fulfill their duties under federal law.

Supporters of the court-imposed limits, including Democratic lawmakers and some business sectors, argue that these measures benefit the economy by enabling access to lower-cost immigrant labor, rather than pushing companies toward higher wages or automation. In contrast, the Trump administration has maintained its commitment to fostering a high-wage, high-tech economy and opposing a system that relies on mass migration and lower wages.

Appeals Court Throws Out Boasberg’s Contempt Ruling Against Trump.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: A federal appeals court overturned a district judge’s contempt order against federal officials involved in the transport of Venezuelan migrants.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Judges Gregory Katsas, Neomi Rao, and Cornelia Pillard, along with U.S. District Judge James Boasberg and Trump administration officials.

📍WHEN & WHERE: August 8, 2025, at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.

💬KEY QUOTE: “The government is plainly correct about the merits of the criminal contempt, and our saying so now would prevent long disputes between the Executive and the Judiciary over difficult, contentious issues,” wrote Judge Gregory Katsas.

🎯IMPACT: The decision represents a significant victory for the Trump administration, underscoring judicial restraint in matters involving executive authority.

IN FULL

A federal appeals court has overturned a district judge’s decision to pursue criminal contempt proceedings against federal officials. The case stemmed from an incident in March involving the transport of Venezuelan illegal immigrants to El Salvador, which U.S. District Court Judge James Boasberg argued violated his prior order barring the move.

Judges Gregory Katsas and Neomi Rao, both appointed by President Trump, ruled in favor of the Trump administration by setting aside the contempt order. Judge Cornelia Pillard, an Obama appointee, dissented, arguing that the contempt findings were justified.

In his concurring opinion, Katsas noted that the case highlights an “extraordinary, ongoing confrontation between the Executive and Judicial Branches.” He added that the decision would prevent prolonged disputes over contentious issues like judicial control of foreign policy and prosecution.

Judge Pillard, however, criticized the ruling, stating, “Our system of courts cannot long endure if disappointed litigants defy court orders with impunity rather than legally challenge them.” She emphasized the importance of accountability when court orders are disobeyed.

The ruling is seen as a major victory for the Trump White House, reinforcing constitutional executive authority in areas such as foreign policy and immigration enforcement.

Transgender Illegal Charged with Child Rape Was Paroled into U.S. Under Biden.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: A biological male identifying as a “transgender” woman, who entered the U.S. illegally, is facing trial for the rape of a minor and stalking.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Nicol Alexandra Contreras-Suarez, a Colombian national and illegal immigrant with a lengthy criminal record.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The suspect was paroled into the U.S. by the Biden government in March 2023 and is set to appear before the New York Supreme Court on September 10, 2025.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Thanks to the failed sanctuary policies and Biden’s open-border agenda, this serial criminal was freed to prey on innocent American children – but that ends now.” – DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin

🎯IMPACT: The case has reignited debate over sanctuary city policies, “transgender” criminal protections, and border enforcement under the Biden administration.

IN FULL

Nicol Alexandra Contreras-Suarez, a Colombian transgender woman, is facing serious charges, including first-degree rape of a minor under 17 and stalking. According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Contreras-Suarez had previously entered the United States illegally in March 2023 but was released under protocols established during the former Biden regime, despite a notable criminal history.

After initially being apprehended at the San Ysidro Port of Entry in California, Contreras-Suarez was released into the country. Following this release, authorities say he was involved in several criminal incidents in Medford, Massachusetts, where charges were filed for armed robbery, prostitution, and assault with a deadly weapon.

Local sanctuary policies in both Massachusetts and New York reportedly prevented federal immigration authorities from detaining or deporting Contreras-Suarez, allowing him to remain free despite multiple charges. The National Pulse reported in July that Contreras-Suarez raped a 14-year-old boy in the bathroom of a bodega in East Harlem early this year.

It wasn’t until February 2025 that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) issued a detainer at Manhattan Central Booking, finally enabling federal officials to assume custody. Contreras-Suarez is now incarcerated at Rikers Island and is scheduled to appear before the New York Supreme Court on September 10, 2025.

DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin issued strong criticism of local and federal policies that allowed Contreras-Suarez to remain at large: “Thanks to the failed sanctuary policies and Biden’s open-border agenda, this serial criminal was freed to prey on innocent American children – but that ends now.”

The case has reignited debate around sanctuary city policies and border enforcement under the former Biden government. At one point under Biden, as many as 15 percent of the women in federal prisons were actually men claiming to be transgender.

Superman Joins ICE: ‘This Country Was Built on Patriots Stepping Up.’

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Actor Dean Cain announced plans to become an ICE agent following his release of a recruitment video.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Dean Cain, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Announcement made on Wednesday, with ICE recruitment video released Tuesday.

💬KEY QUOTE: “This country was built on patriots stepping up, whether it was popular or not, and doing the right thing.” – Dean Cain

🎯IMPACT: ICE recruitment drive expanded with age cap lifted.

IN FULL

Dean Cain, best known for his role as Superman in the 1990s television series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, has announced plans to join U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as an agent. During a media appearance on Wednesday, he revealed the news, stating he would be “sworn in as an ICE agent, ASAP.”

Cain explained that after releasing a recruitment video on social media, ICE officials contacted him directly. “I put out a recruitment video yesterday—I’m actually a sworn deputy sheriff and a reserve police officer—I wasn’t part of ICE, but once I put that out there and you put a little blurb on your show, it went crazy,” he told Fox News’s Jesse Waters.

In the recruitment video, Cain highlighted benefits for potential applicants, including a $40,000 signing bonus, student loan repayment assistance, and enhanced retirement packages. “If you want to help save America, ICE is arresting the worst of the worst and removing them from America’s streets. I like that. I voted for that,” Cain stated in his message.

Cain’s announcement drew some criticism on social media, with users pointing to perceived contradictions between his new role and Superman’s fictional background as an alien immigrant. Responding to one critic, Cain said, “Not a chance,” when asked if Superman would disapprove of his decision.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem later confirmed that ICE’s recruitment age cap of 37 had been lifted, allowing Cain, 59, to join. Cain defended his decision, citing America’s immigration challenges and President Trump’s electoral mandate. “This country was built on patriots stepping up, whether it was popular or not, and doing the right thing,” he said. ICE’s recruitment drive is part of a broader expansion, with Congress approving funding for 10,000 additional agents by 2029.
