Biden Campaign Co-Chair Claims Deporting Illegals Will Harm America.

Democratic Texas Representative Veronica Escobar claimed there would be dangerous economic repercussions for deporting illegal immigrants. Appearing Friday on CNN Newsroom With Jim Acosta, the co-chair of President Joe Biden’s 2024 re-election campaign criticized former President Donald Trump for calling for the deportation of illegal immigrants.

“Democrats have been willing over the decades to not just address border security as a whole, but also to address our workforce needs and to make sure that we remain a country of immigrants,” Rep. Escobar told Acosta before adding: “Immigration is good for us economically.”

Escobar called former President Trump’s pledge to deport illegal immigrants “horrific” before claiming Trump wants to “take us back to an era where people feared being in their own country simply because they belong to a minority group.” The Biden campaign official insisted that “it is impossible to deport every undocumented person in this country.”

Illegal immigration has increased at an alarming rate under the Biden government. President Biden’s initial acts in office included repealing several Trump-era border policies, such as the Muslim travel ban and the Border Wall project.

The ongoing border crisis has become a top issue heading into November’s presidential election. Polling has consistently indicated voters overwhelmingly believe Trump is best suited to end the border invasion.

U.S. Sees 167% Increase in Migrant Population Under Biden, Surpassing 8 Million.

U.S. government data indicates a significant increase in the migrant population residing within the country, with numbers expected to reach eight million by the end of September — a 167 percent increase over the last five years.

The surge is attributed to the ongoing border crisis that saw over six million asylum seekers and other migrants released from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody and listed on the “non-detained docket” by the conclusion of fiscal year 2023 on September 30. Department of Homeland Security documents sent to Congress anticipate a further increase to the aforementioned eight million by October 1.

Among the migrants caught in the backlog limbo, an estimated 2 million people — a quarter of the total number — are either slated for deportation or facing criminal charges, while others are awaiting final decisions on their asylum applications.

In December 2023 alone, over 302,000 migrants attempted illegal entry into the U.S., marking an all-time high for a single month and the first time the number surpassed 300,000.

The Biden regime faces continued criticism for its mishandling of the ongoing border crisis, which some argue the government has intentionally exacerbated. In February, it was revealed that most of the jobs’ gains’ under President Biden were the result of migrant labor.

GA House Passes Bill Requiring Cops to Detain All Illegals in Wake of Laken Riley Murder.

Georgia House Republicans approved a bill Thursday requiring all eligible police and sheriff’s departments to assist in the identification, arrest, and detention of illegal aliens for deportation. House Bill 1105 passed the House with a 97-74 vote and came in response to the brutal murder of University of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley. The bill will now proceed to the Georgia Senate for additional debate. If passed and signed into law, it will effectively make ‘sanctuary’ cities and counties illegal in Georgia.

Riley was murdered by 26-year-old illegal alien Jose Ibarra. Riley, a nursing student at Augusta University’s Athens campus, was found dead on February 22 after a reported failure to return from a morning run. According to immigration authorities, Ibarra unlawfully entered the United States in 2022.

The bill, if passed, will also introduce new directives for jail officials regarding their interaction with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to verify an individual’s immigration status. Sheriffs failing to check immigration status could be charged with a misdemeanor under the new law. Additionally, state funding would be denied to prisons and sheriffs not in compliance.

The city of Athens and its surrounding county are alleged to be ‘sanctuary’ jurisdictions. Athens-Clarke County Sheriff John Williams campaigned on an explicit promise to refuse to cooperate with ICE.

NYC Rents Skyrocket As City Flooded By Illegal Immigrants.

Despite a nationwide trend of declining rental costs, New Yorkers continue to wrestle with soaring rents as illegal immigrants flood the city. The city’s situation contrasts with the nationwide trend, where year-over-year rent changes have either remained stable or declined for five consecutive months, primarily due to an increase in the creation of new rental units. Rents across the U.S. fell 0.7 percent this month compared to last year.

However, February saw an 18 percent surge in one-bedroom rentals in New York City, pushing the average price to a record peak of $4,200. Even in Jersey City, situated across the Hudson River from Manhattan, the median cost of rent rose 5.4 percent to $3,140. The spike in housing costs has stunned some New Yorkers who expected rents to fall as usual in the late fall and winter. Despite historic trends, the cost of housing in the Big Apple has continued to increase apace.

Heightening the housing crisis in New York City, around 200,000 illegal immigrants have arrived in the metro area via bus from the southern border over the past 18 months. This situation has ignited protests in Harlem, where locals recently discovered the city’s plans to convert a luxury building into a shelter for the rapidly ballooning number of illegal immigrants in the city.

Senate Republicans Warm to Mayorkas Impeachment Trial.

Senate Republicans are voicing increasing favor for a trial of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, whom the House of Representatives impeached over two weeks ago.

The charges against Mayorkas are in connection with his actions concerning the southern border and illegal immigration. The initial impeachment efforts by the Republican-held House were met with skepticism from some senators who predicted the initiative would fail upon reaching the Senate floor. However, growing support for a trial is now emerging among Senate Republicans, including from those beyond hard-line conservative circles.

Last week, a faction of Republican senators led by Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) requested Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky) to “demand” a Senate trial for Mayorkas via a written appeal. It drew support from Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Eric Schmitt (R-Mo), Rick Scott (R-Fla), Ron Johnson (R-Wis), J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), Roger Marshall (R-Kan), Josh Hawley (R-Mo), Mike Braun (R-Ind), Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala), Ted Budd (R-N.C.), Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo), and Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn). McConnell and Minority Whip John Thune (R-S.D.) have since both expressed approval for a trial.

In addition to McConnell and Thune, Sens. Katie Britt (R-Ala), John Kennedy (R-La), Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), and Steve Daines (R-Mont) have also indicated their support for an impeachment trial. Despite the growing GOP backing for a trial, any such measure will likely fail due to the requirement of a two-thirds Senate majority to convict and remove Mayorkas from office.

Biden, Harris Never Met with Border Patrol Chief in Nearly 2 Years.

Raul Ortiz, the former chief of Border Patrol, has stated he had no encounters with either President Joe Biden or Vice President Kamala Harris during his entire tenure from August 2021 until June 2023.

“I’ve made it perfectly clear, when I was the Chief, I never once met with the President or the Vice President. And I think it’s long overdue that they sit down and roll up their sleeves and start coming up with some solutions,” Ortiz said during an appearance on Fox News’s “Your World.”

Ortiz stressed that it is essential for the President to hold meetings with Border Patrol officials to gain a deep understanding of the issue and develop viable remedies. He drew attention to the heightened activity in Tucson, San Diego, and El Paso, describing them as the busiest regions along the southwest border. He advocated for direct communication between the White House and Border Patrol officials as a source of firsthand information.

Ortiz’s comments came in response to a visit to Texas by Joe Biden this week that observers say was little more than a photo op. The Biden regime continues to face widespread criticism for its mishandling of the ongoing crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Boston’s Wealthy Elite Outraged Over Migrant Shelter in Their Neighborhood.

Residents of Fort Point, one of Boston’s most affluent districts, are voicing their grievances over the city’s decision to transform an office space into a shelter for illegal immigrants. At a community meeting this week, the residents expressed their disbelief and concern over the state officials’ choices regarding safety and security. The space, owned by the Unitarian Universalist Association and located at 24 Farnsworth Street, will house 80 immigrants as an overflow shelter under the Baptism of the United Way of Massachusetts Bay, the non-profit chosen for the task.

“I think there’s a lot of angry residents who feel the same way I do that this was being forced on us,” said local resident Brian Curley.

Gov. Maura Healey conveyed to the Boston Herald the urgency of having the shelter operational “as soon as possible” without releasing a definitive date for the immigrants’ arrival. Healey said her government endorses the project as a step towards “safe shelter for people.” She reinforced that dialogue with the community and the city continues, notwithstanding residents’ claims about a lack of answers from Tuesday’s meeting.

Residents asked about safety measures and accused state officials of a rushed process that left community members without answers. Gen. Scott Rice, charged with managing security at the migrant shelters, affirmed the state’s commitment to maintain safety. Two weeks ago, ICE arrested a 34-year-old illegal immigrant from Guatemala on child sex crime charges in Gloucester, MA, which has further exacerbated residents’ concerns about immigrant-related safety issues.

NYC Discovers Migrants Housed Illegally in Furniture Store.

New York City officials issued a vacate order for a Bronx furniture store discovered to house numerous migrants in hazardous living conditions, according to the New York City Department of Buildings (DOB). DOB issued the order on Wednesday due to life-threatening conditions, including severe overcrowding and inadequate natural light and ventilation.

At least ten people were removed from the store, which was found to have been illegitimately converted into a makeshift residence with 45 tightly packed beds. City authorities are unsure about the whereabouts of other possible residents who may have fled amid the official intervention.

The order follows a similar incident involving a Queens furniture store overseen by the same person. The Queens store was inspected and evacuated earlier in the week 74 migrants, primarily from West Africa, were found living there.

The store discoveries come amid a broader citywide crisis in housing and feeding migrants relocated to New York City from the southern border. As part of the Operation Lone Star plan initiated by Texas Governor Greg Abbott, 37,900 migrants have reportedly been transported to the city since August 2022. City officials continue working to address these housing and humanitarian concerns.

The massive influx of migrants into New York City has also resulted in a significant increase in crime, leading Mayor Eric Adams to issue a call to change the city’s ‘sanctuary‘ status.

Housing For ‘Asylum Seekers’ Costs UK Taxpayers £15 Million EACH DAY.

The UK government spent £4.3 billion more than allocated on asylum support due to a growing backlog in applications, according to Treasury figures. Official estimates put total expenditures at £5.4 billion ($6.8bn) for last year, surpassing the budget of £1 billion set aside for 2023/24 by £4.3 billion. The Treasury figures also indicate the government’s decision to house asylum seekers in hotels has cost UK taxpayers as much as £15 million ($19m) a day.

The Labour Party’s shadow home secretary, Yvette Cooper, called attention to the overspending, citing it as evidence of “complete chaos” in the asylum system under the current Conservative leadership. The National Pulse previously reported that the UK’s Conservative government has let in record numbers of asylum claimants.

The Home Office attributed this additional expenditure to increased instances of small boat arrivals; in a letter to the Home Affairs Select Committee, Permanent Secretary Sir Matthew Rycroft labeled this as a volatile area for budgeting. He also pointed out that efficiency measures are being implemented to ensure better financial management in the asylum system, including the cessation of housing asylum seekers in hotels.

Meanwhile, recent figures from the Home Office show that over 2,000 migrants have arrived in the UK so far this year, having crossed the Channel. This figure is less by 32 percent than the total recorded around the same time in the previous year but higher by 49 percent compared to the numbers from 2022. With a backlog of nearly 100,000 cases, Labour claims that the failure to resolve asylum applications efficiently has led to extravagant spending on asylum accommodation.

White House Now Referring to Illegal Immigrants As ‘Newcomers.’

White House officials introduced a new term for illegal immigrants, referring to them as “newcomers” ahead of President Joe Biden’s visit to Brownsville, Texas, on Thursday. The “newcomers” language appeared as part of a fact sheet discussing the Biden-backed Senate agreement on Ukraine and border funding.

The government’s use of the term “newcomers” — obfuscating the difference between legal and illegal immigrants — was met with robust criticism from House Republicans. Members of the House GOP conference have termed Biden’s approach to the border crisis as a “designed catastrophe.” Republicans argue that the drafted border bill would normalize high levels of unlawful immigration and achieve little in terms of curbing crossings at the border and drug trafficking.

Biden government officials have pushed back against critics of the legislation. They argue it represents a “genuine commitment” to border security. The bill proposes expanding the Border Patrol staff, amending asylum rules, strengthening law enforcement’s authority to tackle drug smuggling, expanding visa and guest worker programs, and providing increased funding to cities and states accommodating asylum seekers.

President Joe Biden visited Brownsville, Texas — near the U.S.-Mexico border — on Thursday. The Texas town, however, has seen very few crossings compared to other locations. Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump visited Eagle Pass, Texas, earlier on Thursday — the most heavily trafficked crossing in the state.
