The number of arrests of criminal illegal aliens has surged under the administration of President Donald J. Trump. States have seen triple-digit increases in arrests, with Virginia seeing a 470 percent increase and Maryland reporting a 290 percent increase.

Immigration enforcement actions by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE) in Michigan have surged 145 percent. Meanwhile, Colorado and Wyoming have experienced arrest rates nearly five times higher than those recorded during the same timeframe under former President Joe Biden.

Across a group of eight western states—including Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Montana, Arizona, Colorado, Wyoming, and California—monthly arrests of illegal immigrants have nearly tripled since January.

In Chicago, ICE reports that the number of illegal immigrants with criminal convictions apprehended during the first 150 days of the Trump administration was three times higher than during the final 150 days of Biden’s presidency. The San Diego area has seen a particularly sharp rise, with immigration arrests climbing 400 percent compared to this period last year.

At the same time, ICE personnel have faced a dramatic rise in assaults, an 830 percent increase over 2024 figures, according to Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons.

“I think the sharp increase in the rhetoric, especially from a lot of elected officials, that are shaming, if you will, or speaking out against [the] ICE law enforcement mission, is what’s really increasing these attacks on officers,” Lyons said.

The ruling marks a significant legal setback for the Trump White House; however, it does clear the path for the administration to bring the matter before the U.S. Supreme Court.

“The district court correctly concluded that the Executive Order’s proposed interpretation, denying citizenship to many persons born in the United States, is unconstitutional. We fully agree,” the 9th Circuit’s majority wrote. In addition, the judges agreed with the plaintiffs, a coalition of Democrat governed states, that the matter fell under the exceptions laid out by the Supreme Court justices regarding their restrictions on nationwide injunctions: “We conclude that the district court did not abuse its discretion in issuing a universal injunction in order to give the States complete relief.”

“We should approach any request for universal relief with good faith skepticism, mindful that the invocation of ‘complete relief’ isn’t a backdoor to universal injunctions,” Judge Patrick Bumatay wrote in dissent. The judge argued that it is unlikely the states have the proper legal standing to sue, but did not directly address the constitutionality of President Trump’s Executive Order.

The Constitution’s 14th Amendment states, “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.” However, the Department of Justice (DOJ) maintains that the clause in the amendment stating “subject to United States jurisdiction” means it does not necessarily grant citizenship to a child simply for being born in the United States.

The coalition of Democratic states points to the precedent established by the 1898 Supreme Court decision in United States v. Wong Kim Ark. In that decision, the high court held, “a child born in the United States, of parents of Chinese descent, who, at the time of his birth, are subjects of the Emperor of China, but have a permanent domicile and residence in the United States, and are there carrying on business, and are not employed in any diplomatic or official capacity under the Emperor of China,” was granted U.S. citizenship at birth.

However, the DOJ and critics of the United States’ birthright citizenship policies contend that the decision does not apply to the children of immigrants in the country illegally. The Supreme Court has not clarified whether this is the case.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem previously attempted to revoke Harvard’s certification under the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP), citing concerns over foreign students’ ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and accusations of fostering violence and anti-Semitism. Harvard challenged the decision in court, arguing the move jeopardized the education of over 7,000 international students. U.S. District Judge Allison Burroughs—a Barack Obama appointee—sided with Harvard, blocking the revocation while litigation continues.

President Donald J. Tourists were captured on video being refused access at the entrance, while security personnel stood behind locked glass doors. Major booking websites have since halted all reservations for the upscale, four-star hotel located in one of London’s most affluent districts. Staff were also reportedly fired.

Tower Hamlets Council has acknowledged the situation, confirming that the facility is being used to provide temporary shelter. A spokesman stated, “We are aware of the government’s decision to use the Britannia Hotel in Canary Wharf to provide temporary accommodation for asylum seekers. It is important that the government ensures that there is a full package of support for those staying at the hotel. We are working with the Home Office and partners to make sure that all necessary safety and safeguarding arrangements are in place.”

The site has seen a noticeable increase in security, including police officers stationed at the entrance. Lee Anderson, a Member of Parliament (MP) for Nigel Farage’s Reform Party, commented on the situation: “It must cost a couple of hundred quid [pounds] a night to stay there. Most normal people in this country would not even be able to afford to come and stay here for a weekend.”

The Home Office has rejected any connection between the decision in Canary Wharf and recent disturbances in Epping, where tensions flared outside another asylum seeker hotel. That unrest followed the arrest of an Ethiopian migrant on multiple sexual assault allegations and led to confrontations between protesting families—branded “far-right” by Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer—and pro-migrant counter-protesters, prompting the deployment of riot police.

Speaking about the Epping protests, Reform leader Nigel Farage voiced his support for residents: “Do I understand how people in Epping feel? Notably, in recent months, Cornyn has tried to reposition himself as being opposed to mass immigration while claiming to be an ally of President Donald J. Trump‘s America First agenda. Polling has shown Cornyn consistently trailing his Republican primary challenger, Trump ally and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R), by a significant margin in the 2026 Senate race.

LULAC presents itself as a Hispanic and Latin-American civil rights organization; however, the group has consistently pushed a far-left political agenda, including educating illegal immigrants on legal maneuvers to frustrate federal immigration enforcement actions. Additionally, LULAC has joined campaigns in defense of abortion, far-left DEI programs, and Affirmative Action.

Concerningly, LULAC has joined other far-left groups in promoting anti-U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) propaganda. LULAC has accused ICE of utilizing so-called “terror strikes” and “lightning attacks” to create an environment of “fear and anxiety” in the Hispanic community.

The group has received significant funding from the Tides Foundation, as well as the National Education Association (NEA) and American Federation of Teachers (AFT). Its current president, Domingo Garcia, is a long-time Texas Democrat politician and served as a member of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) for over a decade.

Cornyn actively opposed Trump’s 2024 bid to retake the White House until well after polling showed the America First leader was the only GOP candidate positioned to defeat the Democrats. The National Pulse reported in November 2023 that Cornyn admitted, “I was wrong,” regarding his opposition to Trump’s candidacy.

The resurfaced LULAC video is likely to cause further problems for Cornyn in Texas. Already, the Senator has seen defections, with Congressman Lance Gooden (R-TX) endorsing Paxton.

The ICE raid of a marijuana farm in California earlier this month saw agents discover illegal immigrant children being exploited. Despite this, the state’s Democrat Governor, Gavin Newsom, took aim at ICE’s methods, complaining that they were using tear gas on women and children.

Second Illegal Immigrant Arrested for Shooting Border Agent.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem announced on Monday that the second suspect involved in the shooting of a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer has been detained. The officer was attacked late Saturday night at Fort Washington Park in Manhattan by two men on a moped in what appeared to be an attempted robbery.

The incident, which occurred at approximately 11:50 PM, resulted in an exchange of gunfire. The off-duty CBP officer was shot in the face but managed to return fire, hitting one of the suspects. New York Police Department (NYPD) radio traffic indicated the officer was shot in the mouth during the altercation.

During a press conference on Monday, Noem stated, “Fortunately for us today, our officer survived. He survived. He’s going through a very difficult time, and I would ask that you respect him and his family and his friend who was with him and what they have gone through.” She added, “We were able to bring the second individual in and have detained him as well, and he will face consequences and hopefully strong prosecution for his crimes and his involvement on Saturday night.”

Authorities identified the suspect as Miguel Francisco Mora Nunez, a Dominican national who re-entered the United States illegally in April 2023 and was released under the Biden government despite an active deportation order. CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott confirmed that the second suspect had also been apprehended and released at the U.S. border prior to the attack.

“There’s absolutely zero reason that someone who is scum of the earth like this should be running loose on the streets of New York City,” Noem told reporters. She criticized sanctuary city policies, particularly those under Mayor Eric Adams, elected as a Democrat, for enabling such criminals, adding: “He was arrested four different times in New York City, and because of the mayor’s policies and sanctuary city policies, was released back to do harm to people.”

White House Border Czar Tom Homan added, “Sanctuary cities are sanctuaries for criminals. President Trump is not going to tolerate it.”

Meanwhile, New York City’s Democratic Party mayoral candidate and self-described socialist Zohran Mamdani has remained silent on the shooting. Mamdani, who has previously called to defund the police and abolish prisons and opposes working with President Donald J. Trump to deport illegal immigrants, is currently in his birth country, Uganda, “in a personal capacity” to celebrate his marriage.

The “Twelver” Muslim stated he would return to New York City “by the end of the month.”

Court records reveal that at least 339 migrants housed in taxpayer-funded hotels have appeared before British magistrates so far this year, charged with offences ranging from rape and robbery to assault to theft. The data shows that at least one in every 100 migrants in these accommodations has faced court proceedings.

Among the cases, 29 were related to sexual crimes, including seven alleged rapes and one proven incident of exposure. A further 64 cases involved violence-related offences such as assault, grievous bodily harm (GBH), and possession of weapons. For instance, an Ethiopian migrant was remanded in custody after allegedly trying to kiss a 14-year-old schoolgirl just eight days after arriving in Britain.

Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp criticized the government’s handling of illegal immigration, stating, “Women are being raped and sexually assaulted and even police officers attacked. We just need to deport them all immediately upon arrival, whether to Rwanda or elsewhere.” He added that illegal immigrants crossing the Channel are “Twenty-four times more likely to wind up in prison than average.”

However, while illegal immigration has worsened under Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer’s Labour Party, the boat migrants crisis, initially exposed by Nigel Farage, began and steadily worsened under Philp’s Conservative Party, which governed from 2010 to mid-2024.
