Reports from current and former employees, alongside U.S. Department of Labor data, reveal that Elon Musk’s Tesla has significantly augmented its H-1B visa requests to fill positions previously held by around 15,000 U.S. workers who were let go in April 2024. The layoffs were widespread across Tesla’s departments but were notably concentrated in Texas and California.
The H-1B visa program currently allows U.S. companies to hire foreigners for three years, which can be extended once, contingent upon continuous employment with the sponsoring employer. Criticism has arisen due to potential employer control over foreign workers, sometimes equated with modern indentured servitude.
During its aggressive layoff period, Tesla also applied for over 2,000 H-1B visas, accounting for more than three percent of America’s national quota. Many laid-off employees were senior engineers with substantial pay, reportedly replaced by junior foreign engineers receiving lower wages. This practice has prompted concerns about the displacement of American workers and companies leveraging the H-1B program to reduce labor costs.
Musk has ardently defended the expansion of the H-1B program, asserting a shortage of skilled U.S. workers essential for companies like Tesla. This viewpoint, however, has attracted criticism from America-First conservatives who argue the H-1B program jeopardizes American job security.
Proponents like Musk and political figure Vivek Ramaswamy advocate that H-1B visas are crucial for filling vital knowledge gaps within specific industries in the American workforce. A data analysis by The National Pulse disproved such claims.

On Tuesday, December 31, 2024, Stephen K. Bannon hosted former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer on WarRoom to discuss immigration, particularly the controversial H-1B visa program. The pair emphasized how the program undermines American workers by prioritizing cheap foreign labor over domestic job growth. Spicer shared insights from a recent poll he conducted on social media, revealing strong opposition to the H-1B visa program. Both men agreed that Americans should be trained and supported for these roles instead of the nation relying on imported, migrant workers.
Bannon expanded on his critique of the immigration system, calling for a complete moratorium until reforms can be made. He accused elites of using these programs to suppress wages and exploit workers while benefiting from cheaper labor at the expense of American citizens, particularly African Americans and Hispanics.
He stressed that the erosion of citizenship and labor rights must stop, pointing out that figures like Elon Musk are promoting policies that harm American sovereignty. For Bannon, it’s about defending the middle and working class, regardless of race, from an elite agenda that undermines their rights.
The episode also featured Batya Ungar-Sargon, who discussed how the real divide in America is not racial but economic, with the working class of all races struggling against a system rigged by elites. Ungar-Sargon’s book Bad News critiques how the media and elites have ignored the working class, framing the narrative as a class struggle rather than a racial one.
Ben Bergquam, who reported live from San Diego, echoed Bannon’s call for a moratorium on immigration.
Bergquam criticized the way political figures and NGOs are facilitating illegal immigration and shared firsthand accounts of the situation at the U.S.-Mexico border. Both he and Bannon painted a bleak picture of the country’s immigration crisis, urging immediate action to restore national sovereignty.
Rep. Victoria Spartz also joined the show, discussing her frustration with the lack of action from Republican leadership, especially Speaker Mike Johnson. Spartz emphasized the need for a commitment to the MAGA agenda, particularly regarding fiscal responsibility and healthcare reform.
WarRoom airs Monday through Saturday on Real America’s Voice and other carriers. Its live broadcasts are from 10 AM to 12 PM Eastern, and replays are from 5-6 PM Eastern and 6-7 PM on Frank Speech.

Far-left German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser claimed on Monday that the Saudi migrant suspected of carrying out a deadly car-ramming attack at a Christmas market in Magdeburg, Germany, may have been “psychologically disturbed and… driven by confused conspiracy theories.”
The Social Democrat politician insisted, “Such attackers do not fit any threat profile”—although mass casualty vehicular attacks in Continental Europe, such as those in Magdeburg, Berlin, Stockholm, and Nice, are almost exclusively carried out by migrants from Muslim-majority countries. Instead, she stressed that the suspect, Dr. Taleb al-Abdulmohsen, showed “striking signs of a pathological psyche.”
Speaking to reporters, Faeser stated that investigators have not yet determined a motive for the attack. Her statements came after a session with a parliamentary committee investigating the December 20 attack, which resulted in five deaths and over 200 injuries.
Faeser also referenced copious social media activity on the part of Abdulmohsen, noting that “tens of thousands of tweets” over the years still need to be analyzed.
BACKGROUND.
The German authorities are facing criticism for allowing the Saudi to carry out the attack, as the authorities in his home country had sent them at least four warnings about his “very extreme views” as recently as last year.
He arrived in Germany in 2005 and was granted asylum in 2016, despite being fined for making threats in 2013, further threatening attacks that would gain “international attention” in 2014, and threatening to obtain a firearm and shoot judges in 2015.
There is some evidence Abdulmohsen held “anti-Islamic views,” with Faesar insisting he is “Islamophobic” and the German federal police attempting to link him to the “extreme right.” However, it is relatively commonplace for migrants from countries like Saudi Arabia to fake apostasy, homosexuality, and other beliefs and lifestyles prohibited under Islamic law to bolster their claims they would face persecution if they were deported.

WarRoom host Stephen K. Bannon is dominating the debate on H-1B visas on X (formerly Twitter), with a poll revealing users support his opposition to the visa program over the platform’s owner, Elon Musk. The tech billionaire had said the United States should double the number of foreign workers. However, a poll initiated by former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, with close to 100,000 votes, saw Bannon capturing a whopping majority of 67.4 percent of voters.
Bannon and Musk have been divided on the issue of H-1B visas. Musk has advocated for more supposedly skilled immigrants to be allowed into the United States, while critics of the program, including Bannon, argue that the program favors foreigners at the expense of American workers.
Over the weekend, Bannon launched an attack on the H-1B program, saying, “Let me repeat: the H-1B visa program is a total and complete scam, concocted by Wall Street’s lords of easy money and Silicon Valley oligarchs to boost profits.”
Reports reveal that Musk’s automotive company, Tesla, has filed over 3,200 H-1B visa applications this year. H-1B workers can work for much lower wages than Americans, maximizing corporate profits.
However, Tesla is just one of several large American companies taking advantage of the H-1B system, which is dominated by Big Tech firms including Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and others. Just 30 companies made up over 25 percent of all the H-1B petitions approved in 2019 alone.
The United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) FY 2023report to Congress states that 386,318 H-1B visas were filed last year. A third were new, which indicates that the supposed cap of 85,000 was exceeded that year.
The National Pulse Editor-in-Chief Raheem Kassam has outlined why H-1B visas should be ended, as the visa program purports to pay large wages to workers but often pays a legal minimum that is actually well below rates expected by Americans.

President-elect Donald J. Trump has heavily criticized the H1-Bforeign worker visa program in the past, including comments in 2016 slamming the mass immigration pipeline as being implicitly “unfair” to native-born American workers. These comments stand in stark contrast to the calls by tech billionaire Elon Musk and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, who are defending H1-Bs and, in Musk’s case, even calling for the program’s expansion.
“First of all, I think and I know the H-1B very well. And it’s something that I frankly use and I shouldn’t be allowed to use it. We shouldn’t have it,” the President-elect said during a 2016 primary debate, pushing back on Senator Marco Rubio’s (R-FL) advocacy for the H1-B program. “Second of all, I think it’s very important to say, well, I’m a businessman and I have to do what I have to do.”
Trump added that the visas harm American workers, calling them “very bad” and “unfair.”
Analysis by The National Pulse has revealed that despite the 85,000 worker cap, in fiscal year 2023, 386,318 new and ongoing H1-B visa holders were approved under the auspices of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS). This number far exceeds the statutory cap as some academic and nonprofit institutions engaged in research supposedly critical to the national interest are exempt from the legal employment limits.
Additionally, USCIS data indicates only 22 percent of H1-Bs hold a master’s degree, while just eight percent hold a PhD—suggesting claims the program only applies to “highly skilled” labor is a misnomer at best.
Despite Trump’s earlier criticism of the foreign worker program, the New York Postclaims the President-elect is now backing H1-Bs. The newspaper wrote that Trump reportedly told them that he’s “always been in favor of the visas.”

Data analysis by The National Pulse has revealed that industries and companies relying on cheap, foreign labor supplied by the H1-B visa program have grossly undercounted the number of visa holders admitted to the United States each year and its impact on the wages of native-born Americans.
Those supporting cheap, foreign labor visas insist the United States abides by the statutory cap of 65,000 H1-B visas awarded through a lottery system each year—and an additional 20,000 visas reserved for immigrants with advanced secondary degrees created through the 2004 Omnibus. That means, statutorily, 85,000 H1-B visas can theoretically be granted to foreign workers each year. However, according to the U.S. federal government’s mandated reports to Congress, this number is significantly higher.
YOUNG, CHEAP, & TOO MANY.
According to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services’s (USCIS) FY 2023 report to Congress—currently the most recent public data—the number of H1-B’s filed in the fiscal year was 386,318. These are the total number of visas approved by the federal government. The USCIS report indicates that about one-third of the visas issued in FY 2023 were new—indicating the statutory cap of 85,000 was exceeded, with potentially over 100,000 new H1-Bs being granted. Specific nonprofits and government contractors working in areas deemed critical to American interests can attain unlimited H1-Bs, which is how the newly issued visas in FY 2023 exceeded the statutory cap.
The USCIS report also reveals that only 75,843 H1-B visa workers filed a change of employer petition, suggesting that over 80 percent are essentially handcuffed to their corporate employer. This is significant as it adds credence to critics’ claim that the visa partially suppresses wages by removing negotiating leverage from foreign workers to increase their salary through other job offers.
The average age of an H1-B worker is just 33. Over a third of accepted H1-B visa workers only hold a bachelor’s degree. Only 22 percent held a master’s degree, while just eight percent had a PhD.
The median income of an H1-B worker was $118,000 in FY 2023. According to the Silicon Valley Index, in 2024, the average compensation of workers in Big Tech was around $189,000.
NOT REALLY NEEDED?
The number of H1-Bs in the United States decreased between FY 2022 and 2023. The report states that 442,043 visas were approved in FY 2022, while 386,318 were approved in FY 2023. This is a 13 percent decrease.
The USCIS data suggests that 99.9 percent of H1-B visa applications were approved in FY 2023.
The report states that 386,559 new or continuing visa applications were filed, and 386,318 were approved. Given the numerous U.S. Department of Justice prosecutions against companies like Cognizant, Infosys, and other H1-B “mills” that essentially outsource American jobs to foreign contractors, the near-100 percent approval rate is worthy of immediate attention.
CHAIN MIGRATION.
Many approved H1-B workers aren’t coming to the United States by themselves. According to USCIS data, over 55,000 nonimmigrant visa holders—students, tourists, and others–applied for a change in their nonimmigration status in FY 2023. USCIS notes these are primarily spouses or children of H1-B workers.
It is believed that around 200,000 or more family members have accompanied H1-B visa holders to the United States overall. While in theory, the H1-B is not intended to be a dual-track visa program, allowing the holders to attain green card status and a pathway to citizenship eventually, it has increasingly become such a scheme.
In essence, the H1-B has not just become a source of cheap labor but one of several U.S. visa programs that—through abuse and manipulation—serve as a pipeline for mass immigration into America.

Federal agents, in collaboration with the New York Police Department (NYPD), apprehended a group associated with the violent Venezuelan illegal immigrant gang Tren de Aragua during a raid in the Bronx on December 5. The operation at the Crotona Park apartment building resulted in the arrest of seven individuals, facilitated by the detection of an ankle monitor worn by a key suspect, Jarwin Valero-Calderon, a 28-year-old Venezuelan national. Valero-Calderon’s monitoring device was crucial in leading authorities to the hideout.
The crackdown is seen as a significant step against Tren de Aragua, a gang that has infiltrated the U.S. among waves of asylum-seeking migrants since 2022. The gang is known for recruiting within publicly funded migrant shelters and engaging in various criminal activities, including drug, gun, and human trafficking in New York. John Fabbricatore, former U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) chief in Denver, expressed concerns over the gang’s growing influence and its expansion in sanctuary cities.
Sources highlighted multiple arrests, including Jhonaiker Alexander Gil Cardozo, 24, and 30-year-old Jesus Manuel Quintero Granado. Both individuals are linked to various offenses across states, such as shoplifting, grand larceny, and handling stolen property, following their entry into the U.S. through El Paso.
Another suspect, 19-year-old Angel Gabriel Marquez Rodriguez, faced charges in Chicago and New York following his September 2023border crossing. Furthermore, 21-year-old Fernandez Franco Greymer De Dios, associated with the gang, disappeared after claiming persecution but was eventually ordered deported.
The raid also focused attention on younger members of the gang, particularly the sub-group known as “Diablos de la 42,” noted for their activities in prominent areas like Times Square. Federal immigration sources confirmed all detainees’ links to Tren de Aragua.

Italy’s populist Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini has been fully acquitted after being charged by prosecutors for “kidnapping” migrants while protecting his country’s borders from illegal aliens. A court in Palermo, Sicily, ruled in favor of Salvini, leader of the anti-mass migration League (Lega) party after prosecutors accused him of “kidnapping”illegal immigrants trying to reach Italy by ship by refusing to allow them to disembark.
The incident took place in 2019 when Salvini served as Interior Minister in a previous government. It involved Open Arms, a migrant “rescue” non-governmental organization (NGO), which had picked up 147 illegals at sea and tried to drop them off on the Italian island of Lampedusa rather than North Africa.
Salvini’s trial lasted for three years and saw 45 witnesses heard at 24 separate hearings, with prosecutors demanding Salvini face six years in prison. Prosecutors had tried to argue that the protection of human life at sea trumped defending Italy’s borders.
The defense, meanwhile, noted that Open Arms knew it was banned from Italian territorial waters and refused a Spanish offer of a safe port.
“Acquitted for stopping mass immigration and defending my country. The League wins, common sense wins, Italy wins,” Salvini stated following the verdict.
During his tenure as Interior Minister, Salvini managed to slash illegal immigration to Italy considerably. The ‘Salvini Method’ not only led to fewer migrant arrivals but also led to fewer drowning deaths in the Mediterranean Sea, as fewer attempted to make the journey in the first place.
Italy’s current prime minister, Giorgia Meloni of the populist Brothers of Italy (FdI) party, has also sought to work with the European Union and other countries to reduce illegal arrivals, but with less success.

Census Bureau data reveals that, between 2023 and 2024, more individuals fled California than from any other state in the U.S. California reported a net domestic migration loss of 239,575 residents. New York followed with a loss of 120,917 residents over the same period.
The data confirms a continuing trend in the Western United States, particularly in California, where numerous residents have moved to southern states in recent years. The Institute for Economic Policy Research highlights that many people leave California for more affordable and safe living conditions, with housing costs being a significant factor. The National Pulse previously reported that a conservative exodus from California likely helped push Nevada back into the Republican column in the 2024 presidential election.
California’s cost of living ranks among the highest nationwide. According to Redfin, the current median sale price of a home in California is $831,300, nearly doubling the national median of $430,010. States like Texas and Arizona have been primary destinations for former California residents. Despite the economic motivations, about a quarter of those leaving cited political reasons for their move.
Texas emerged as a primary beneficiary of the outflow, recording a net gain of 85,267 new residents over the same period. Texas offers several advantages, such as no state income tax and ongoing housing development, unlike California, which faces a homelessness crisis and housing shortage. The state’s energy independence from the Western Interconnection electric system also appeals to many.
The overall U.S. population grew by approximately 1 percent in the last year, exceeding 340 million individuals. This marks the fastest yearly growth since 2001 and is predominantly attributed to increased net international migration, likely illegal immigration.

Far-left President Claudia Sheinbaum of Mexico says her country will accept Mexican nationals deported from the United States under incoming President Donald J. Trump. The concession is a significant win for Trump and his border czar, Tom Homan, who plan to initiate one of the largest immigrant enforcement operations since President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1954.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Mexico’s Foreign Affairs Ministry said the Sheinbaum government “is prepared to work in coordination with federal, state, and local authorities in the face of possible mass deportations.” The ministry added: “We reaffirm the responsibility and obligation of the Mexican State to our fellow citizens so that they can have the confidence that they will be received in the manner they deserve in the face of present and future challenges.”
The move comes as President-elect Trump is threatening to enact economically cripplingtariffs on imports to the U.S. from Mexico and Canada unless the two countries increase security at the U.S. southern and northern borders. Following the threat, Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau pledged to step up border actions, and earlier this week, the country confirmed it would budget $1.3 billion for new border security measures.
Meanwhile, in the weeks following the 2024 presidential election, Sheinbaum has spoken numerous times with Trump. The Mexican president has allegedly pledged to turn back illegal immigrant caravans from Central and South America as they attempt to traverse her country toward the U.S. border.
However, Mexico continues to assert it will not act as “a safe third country” for illegal immigrants from other nations being deported from the United States.
