Spy Links and Visa Abuse Probed at Taxpayer-Funded ‘Voice of America’ & USAGM.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: House Oversight is demanding answers from the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM) over years of alleged security breaches, visa abuses, and insider corruption, citing national security risks and ties to foreign adversaries.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: USAGM, Kari Lake, James Comer, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Voice of America, Radio Free Asia, Office of Cuba Broadcasting, and the Biden and Trump administrations.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Letter dated June 17, 2025; Washington, D.C.; oversight spans back over five years of agency operations.

đź’¬KEY QUOTE: “USAGM is vulnerable to exploitation by foreign spies.”

🎯IMPACT: The House is investigating allegations that USAGM improperly issued visas, mismanaged funds, and allowed thousands of unauthorized personnel to access sensitive systems, possibly compromising U.S. national security.

IN FULL

Congressional Republicans have launched a sweeping investigation into the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM), which houses the controversial Voice of America outlet, citing systemic national security failures, corruption, and visa fraud spanning multiple administrations.

A June 17 letter to Kari Lake, the agency’s Senior Advisor, outlines grave concerns over using foreign nationals, falsified background checks, and insider enrichment schemes involving millions in federal grant dollars.

The Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, led by Chairman James Comer and Subcommittee Chairwoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, detailed years of documented misconduct, including improper vetting, falsified Social Security numbers, and personnel with access to sensitive systems who were never properly cleared. Many have since “disappeared into U.S. society,” raising questions about the potential infiltration of the federal government by foreign agents.

USAGM’s use of J-1 cultural exchange visas instead of proper I visas for journalists is also under scrutiny. Lawmakers allege that this practice violates federal policy and creates a backdoor path to permanent residency for foreign nationals working in journalism—an abuse that may have exposed the U.S. to foreign espionage operations. The letter demands documentation for every visa issued and clearance held over the past five years.

Financial records show that grantees like Radio Free Asia and the Open Technology Fund steered millions in contracts to entities with ties to their own advisory boards, in clear violation of federal conflict-of-interest rules. Additional complaints include the misuse of federal funds for political content and the concealment of journalists’ locations in high-risk zones—conditions that reportedly worsened under the Biden government after the rollback of Trump-era reforms.

Trump recently issued an executive order dismantling non-statutory elements of the USAGM, describing the agency as a “hubris-filled rogue operation” aligned with leftist media. The letter requests a trove of internal documents, visa logs, grant records, and settlement agreements by July 1. With U.S. taxpayer dollars and global credibility on the line, lawmakers appear poised to force major structural reform on an agency once intended to champion freedom abroad.

Islam Channel Owner Acquires UK Magazine Once Edited by George Orwell.

PULSE POINTS:

âť“What Happened: The Islam Channel’s parent company, E Media Group, has acquired the United Kingdom’s left-wing Tribune magazine, promising to expand its print and online presence.

👥 Who’s Involved: Islam Channel founder Mohamed Ali Harrath, Tribune’s editorial team, Labour Member of Parliament (MP) Jon Trickett, and Jacobin founder Bhaskar Sunkara.

📍 Where & When: United Kingdom, announced in June 2025.

💬 Key Quote: Mohamed Ali Harrath stated, “A new future for Tribune should excite anyone who wants real change, and a better and brighter future for all.”

⚠️ Impact: The acquisition has sparked criticism, with concerns about Tribune’s historic secularism and Islam Channel’s past regulatory breaches.

IN FULL:

The owner of the Islam Channel has acquired the left-wing British magazine Tribune, a publication with an 88-year history, including a period when George Orwell served as its literary editor. The announcement, made by Islam Channel’s parent company E Media Group, includes plans to increase Tribune’s print frequency and introduce new formats such as podcasts, video, and newsletters.

The existing editorial staff, led by Alex Niven, will remain, and Bhaskar Sunkara, founder of the far-left American socialist publication Jacobin, will continue to work with Tribune as part of an advisory board chaired by Labour Memeber of Parliament (MP) Jon Trickett. Sunkara relaunched Tribune in 2018 after purchasing it with profits from Jacobin.

Founded in 1937 by Labour MPs Sir Stafford Cripps and George Strauss, Tribune has a storied history. Past editors include leading British politicians such as Aneurin Bevan and Michael Foot. Currently, the magazine reaches around 10,000 print subscribers each quarter and claims to attract “hundreds of thousands” of online readers monthly.

Mohamed Ali Harrath, founder of the Islam Channel and chairman of E Group, stated: “A new future for Tribune should excite anyone who wants real change, and a better and brighter future for all.” He claimed that Tribune’s editorial independence and traditions would be preserved. Previously, he has expressed interest in the way Iran has combined Islam with political revolution.

The acquisition has drawn criticism. Lawyer David Toube, head of legal at the Jewish Leadership Council, called the move “quite remarkable,” referencing the Islam Channel’s dubious history. In 2023, Ofcom fined the broadcaster £40,000 (~$54,500) for airing a documentary containing anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.

Paul Anderson, a former Tribune editor, described the deal as “bizarre” and a low point for the publication. He criticized the magazine’s new association with the Islam Channel, citing Tribune’s traditionally secular stance and lack of ties to organized religion.

BREAKING: Moran Out at ABC, Network Confirms Suspended Anchor Gone for Good.

PULSE POINTS:

❓What Happened: ABC News has decided not to renew the contract of longtime correspondent Terry Moran following a social media post critical of President Donald J. Trump and senior White House official Stephen Miller.

👥 Who’s Involved: Terry Moran, ABC News, President Donald Trump, Stephen Miller, Vice President J.D. Vance.

📍 Where & When: Announcement made Tuesday; Moran’s contract was set to expire Friday.

💬 Key Quote: “We are at the end of our agreement with Terry Moran, and based on his recent post—which was a clear violation of ABC News policies—we have made the decision to not renew,” said an ABC News spokesman.

⚠️ Impact: ABC News is attempting to demonstrate a commitment to objectivity under the Trump administration, having cultivated a reputation for strong liberal bias.

IN FULL:

ABC News has announced it will not renew the contract of senior national correspondent Terry Moran following a social media post that violated the network’s standards. Moran, who has been with ABC News for 28 years, made a now-deleted comment on X (formerly Twitter) referring to President Donald J. Trump and Deputy White House Chief of Staff for Policy Stephen Miller as “world-class haters.”

The network confirmed the decision on Tuesday, stating, “We are at the end of our agreement with Terry Moran, and based on his recent post—which was a clear violation of ABC News policies—we have made the decision to not renew.” A spokesman claimed, “At ABC News, we hold all of our reporters to the highest standards of objectivity, fairness and professionalism, and we remain committed to delivering straightforward, trusted journalism.”

Moran’s contract was set to expire on Friday, according to an anonymous source familiar with the matter. The journalist, who has held various roles during his tenure, recently interviewed with President Trump in the Oval Office.

The controversy erupted Sunday night when Moran posted a late-night message describing Miller as “a man who is richly endowed with the capacity for hatred.” Although the post was quickly deleted, screenshots circulated widely online, prompting backlash from Trump allies. Vice President J.D. Vance labeled the remarks “an absolutely vile smear.”

Moran was suspended by ABC News shortly after the post, and the network’s decision to sever ties followed days later. He has not yet commented publicly on the matter.

Court Says Trump CAN Ban Fake News AP From White House.

PULSE POINTS:

❓What Happened: A federal appeals court has stayed a lower court order that forced President Donald J. Trump to allow the Associated Press (AP) to have White House access. The judicial panel found that the Trump White House is likely to ultimately succeed against the litigation brought by the AP.

👥 Who’s Involved: President Donald J. Trump, the Associated Press, and the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.

📍 Where & When: The ruling was issued on Friday, June 6, 2025.

đź’¬ Key Quote: “The White House is likely to succeed on the merits because these restricted presidential spaces are not First Amendment fora opened for private speech and discussion,” the justices found.

⚠️ Impact: The stay order means the Trump White House can move forward with their decision to bar the Associated Press from White House events and press pool privileges on Air Force One and other presidential venues.

IN FULL:

A federal appeals court has ruled that President Donald J. Trump can ban the Associated Press (AP) from White House access. On Friday, the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit handed down an order staying a lower court ruling that had ordered President Trump to restore press access to the AP, stating: “The White House is likely to succeed on the merits because these restricted presidential spaces are not First Amendment fora opened for private speech and discussion.”

“The White House therefore retains discretion to determine, including on the basis of viewpoint, which journalists will be admitted,” Circuit Court Justices Neomi Rao and Gregory Katsas write, adding: “Moreover, without a stay, the government will suffer irreparable harm because the injunction impinges on the President’s independence and control over his private workspaces.”

The ruling follows a Federal District Court decision in April to issue an injunction against the Trump White House’s ban on the AP. District Court Judge Trevor McFadden, at the time, determined that the ban was “contrary to the First Amendment” and ruled that the Trump White House must “put the AP on an equal playing field as similarly situated outlets, despite the AP’s use of disfavored terminology.” The AP was initially banned from the White House over the publication’s refusal to use the official government term, the “Gulf of America,” instead of the “Gulf of Mexico.”

Friday’s decision marks a significant legal win in the ongoing lawfare efforts by the Democratic Party and allied organizations to undermine President Trump and his agenda. Federal judges have controversially intervened in the America First leader’s efforts to deport dangerous and criminal illegal immigrants from the country, with Trump allies accusing the courts of overstepping their constitutional authority and interfering with executive branch powers.

Jon Stewart Promotes Discredited Brexit Conspiracy Theorist and Her New ‘Girl Power’ Blog.

PULSE POINTS:

❓What Happened: Jon Stewart hosted Carole Cadwalladr on The Daily Show, where she fearmongered about a “techno-authoritarian surveillance state” while promoting her Substack and nonprofit, while glossing over her history of discredited, Russiagate-style anti-Brexit conspiracy theories.

👥 Who’s Involved: Jon Stewart, Carole Cadwalladr, and Brexit campaign organizer and donor Arron Banks.

📍 Where & When: The Daily Show, with the interview airing on June 3, 2025.

💬 Key Quote: “There should be no reward for knowingly lying in journalism. In fact, quite the opposite. There should be harsh and punitive measures to discourage activists masquerading as reporters and leading the public astray, especially at their financial cost.” — The National Pulse Editor-in-Chief Raheem Kassam, after Cadwalladr lost a defamation case over her Brexit allegations in 2023.

⚠️ Impact: Stewart’s uncritical platforming of Cadwalladr amplifies her discredited narrative, undermining tech reforms while glossing over her established history of peddling anti-Brexit misinformation.

IN FULL:

On June 3, 2025, Jon Stewart hosted British journalist Carole Cadwalladr on The Daily Show, giving her a platform to warn of a “techno-authoritarian surveillance state” driven by tech firms. Stewart helped Cadwalladr promote her Substack, “How to Survive the Broligarchy,” and her nonprofit, The Citizens—but failed to address Cadwalladr’s history of discredited anti-Brexit conspiracy theories.

Stewart briefly referenced a defamation lawsuit brought against Cadwalladr by Arron Banks, an ally of Nigel Farage and key organizer and donor for the Leave.EU campaign during the 2016 Brexit referendum, over a 2019 TED Talk, and a social media post implying ties to Russia.

“They really tried to destroy you,” Stewart said of the case—failing to mention the courts ruled comprehensively in Banks’s favor. Cadwalladr had falsely alleged Kremlin involvement in and even illicit Russian funding of Banks’s Leave.EU campaign, swaying the Brexit vote through dark money. As with similar Russia-based conspiracies levelled against President Donald J. Trump, Cadwalladr earned journalistic accolades such as the Specialist Journalist of the Year 2017 award and an Orwell Prize for Political Journalism, lending credence to her outlandish reporting, only for it to crumble under legal scrutiny.

Britain’s National Crime Agency (NCA) found no evidence of Russian money or collusion. In 2022, the High Court ruled her false statements caused “serious harm” to Banks’s reputation, ordering her to pay £1.24 million (~$1.7m) in costs and £35,000 (~$47,500) in damages.

“There should be no reward for knowingly lying in journalism. In fact, quite the opposite. There should be harsh and punitive measures to discourage activists masquerading as reporters and leading the public astray, especially at their financial cost,” commented Raheem Kassam, Editor-in-Chief of The National Pulse, following the ruling.

During the Stewart interview, Cadwalladr shifted focus to modern data practices, criticizing the lack of artificial intelligence (AI) regulation in the U.S., noting a proposed ten-year ban on state-level regulation of the technology in the “one big beautiful bill.” However, the purpose of this provision is not to prevent AI regulation, but to prevent far-left California, where many tech firms are based, from having de facto control over AI regulation nationwide and even worldwide.

‘Grooming Children’ — PBS Faces Defunding for Sesame Street Pride Propaganda.

PULSE POINTS:

âť“What Happened: PBS and its signature children’s show, Sesame Street, face accusations of “grooming” children after posting LGBTQ Pride Month content on social media.

👥 Who’s Involved: PBS, Sesame Street, Congressional Republicans, including Rep. Mary Miller (R-IL), Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT), Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ), and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).

📍 Where & When: The controversy unfolded online on platforms X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram during LGBTQ Pride Month.

💬 Key Quote: Rep. Mary Miller (R-IL) said the post was “evil and should infuriate every parent in America.”

⚠️ Impact: Renewed calls from Republicans to defund PBS and NPR, with a House vote on this issue expected soon.

IN FULL:

PBS and its iconic children’s program Sesame Street are under fire following a social media post celebrating LGBT Pride Month. The post, shared on X and Instagram, featured an image of multi-colored puppets forming the shape of a Pride flag, accompanied by the message: “On our street, everyone is welcome. Together, let’s build a world where every person and family feels loved and respected for who they are. Happy Pride Month.”

The post drew swift criticism, particularly from members of the Republican Study Committee (RSC). The group, whose membership remains undisclosed, responded with a meme of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) captioned, “I am once again asking PBS to stop grooming children.”

Rep. Mary Miller (R-IL) also condemned the post, labeling it “evil” and urging parents to take notice. On X, she demanded, “DEFUND!!”

Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) echoed her sentiments, referencing a separate Sesame Street clip from 2020 featuring Queer Eye host Jonathan Van Ness, and stating, “Federal funds aren’t for grooming.”

Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) joined the criticism, accusing PBS of “grooming children on American taxpayers’ dime” and calling for accountability from the broadcaster’s executives.

The controversy comes as Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), chairwoman of the Subcommittee on Delivering on Government Efficiency, prepares for a House vote on defunding PBS and NPR. Greene has publicly declared her intent to vote “YES” on the measure.

This debate follows President Donald J. Trump’s executive order to halt taxpayer funding for PBS and NPR, citing the need for public broadcasting to remain “fair, accurate, unbiased, and nonpartisan.” NPR has since filed a lawsuit seeking to block the presidential directive.

According to the Associated Press, PBS and NPR collectively receive approximately $500 million annually through the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

Trump Rejects CBS Offer to Settle $20bn Election Interference Lawsuit.

PULSE POINTS:

❓What Happened: President Donald J. Trump rejected a $15 million settlement offer from CBS News in his $20 billion election interference lawsuit, demanding $25 million and a public apology for a deceptively edited Kamala Harris interview in 2024.

👥 Who’s Involved: President Trump, CBS News, Paramount Global, Skydance Media, and the FCC.

📍 Where & When: Arbitration negotiations, with the rejection reported on May 29, 2025.

⚠️ Impact: Trump’s hardline stance may disrupt CBS’s plans for an $8 billion merger with Skydance Media, which requires FCC approval.

IN FULL:

President Donald J. Trump has rejected a $15 million settlement offer from CBS News in his $20 billion election interference lawsuit against them. The America First leader, who initially filed a $10 billion suit late last year before doubling it, is demanding at least $25 million and an apology for election meddling in 2024.

The lawsuit stems from CBS’s 60 Minutes broadcast during the 2024 presidential race, where the network deceptively edited an interview with then-Vice President Kamala Harris to make her appear more coherent. By removing a previously previewed “word salad” response about Israel from their final broadcast and interview transcript, CBS is alleged to have deceived the public and violated its duty to report honestly on publicly owned airwaves.

The rejection comes as Paramount Global, CBS’s parent company, is desperate to finalize an $8 billion merger with Skydance Media—a deal that requires Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approval. Skydance will not move forward until the lawsuit is settled.

Moreover, Trump is reportedly considering a second suit—this time for defamation—after a recent 60 Minutes segment compared him to a “mob boss.”

UAE-Linked Jeff Zucker Firm Sells Storied UK Telegraph to… CCP-Linked Jeff Zucker Firm!?

PULSE POINTS:

❓What Happened: A transatlantic consortium led by RedBird Capital Partners, where Jeff Zucker is an Operating Partner, has agreed to purchase The Telegraph newspaper from RedBird IMI, where Jeff Zucker is CEO.

👥 Who’s Involved: RedBird Capital Partners, RedBird IMI, Jeff Zucker, RedBird Capital Partners Chairman John Thornton, The Telegraph, and Britain’s governing Labour Party.

📍 Where & When: The United Kingdom, with the deal announced in 2023, pending regulatory approvals.

đź’¬ Key Quote:

⚠️ Impact: Raises questions about media independence, potential foreign influence, and the future direction of the prominent British newspaper under new ownership.

IN FULL:

A transatlantic consortium led by U.S.-based RedBird Capital Partners has agreed to acquire The Telegraph newspaper, founded in 1855, for ÂŁ500 million (~$675m). Previously, the newspaper was purchased by RedBird IMI, a subsidiary of RedBird Capital Partners, partnered with the United Arab Emirates’ International Media Investments (IMI) and helmed by former CNN President Jeff Zucker.

The RedBird IMI deal was derailed in 2023, due to the former Conservative Party government passing legislation curbing foreign state ownership of British media. IMI, owned primarily by Emirati royal and the UAE vice president Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, was the major partner in RedBird IMI, with the purchase raising concerns about foreign influence at Britain’s most prominent center-right media outlet.

When RedBird IMI finalizes The Telegraph‘s sale to RedBird Capital Partners, IMI will be only a minority stakeholder—provided the incumbent Labour Party government follows through with pending changes to the foreign ownership laws, allowing foreign state-owned investors to hold up to 15 percent of British newspaper publishers. However, the influence of Zucker, RedBird IMI’s CEO, will remain, as he is also an Operating Partner at RedBird Capital Partners.

Questions over foreign state influence on British media will also remain with The Telegraph under RedBird Capital Partners’ control, with chairman John Thornton having deep ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). RedBird itself boasts on its website that Thornton, a former Goldman Sachs co-president, was “the first non-Chinese full professor at Tsinghua University in Beijing,” which is directly administered by the CCP, and notes he is also a member of the International Advisory Council of CIC, the Chinese sovereign wealth fund, and co-chair of the controversial Asia Society.

Dilbert Creator Scott Adams Says He Has the Same Cancer As Biden, Expects to Die This Summer.

PULSE POINTS:

❓What Happened: Scott Adams, creator of the comic strip Dilbert, has revealed he is battling an aggressive form of prostate cancer.

👥 Who’s Involved: Scott Adams, former President Joe Biden, and their respective medical teams.

📍 Where & When: Adams disclosed his diagnosis on a Rumble livestream on Monday, May 19, 2025.

đź’¬ Key Quote: “I expect to be checking out sometime this summer,” Adams said, adding that he has “had it longer than [Biden] has had it. Well, longer than he’s admitted to having it.”

⚠️ Impact: Both Adams and Biden are facing serious health challenges, with Adams sharing that the cancer has spread to his bones and his prognosis is grim.

IN FULL:

Scott Adams, the creator of the popular comic strip Dilbert, has disclosed that he is battling an aggressive form of prostate cancer, similar to the condition recently revealed by former President Joe Biden.

Adams made the announcement during a livestream on the video platform Rumble on Monday. He revealed that his cancer has metastasized to his bones and expressed that his time may be limited, saying he expects to “be checking out sometime this summer.”

“I’ve had it longer than [Biden] has had it. Well, longer than he’s admitted to having it,” the 67-year-old cartoonist added.

The news follows a statement from Biden’s office on Sunday confirming the former president’s diagnosis with the same aggressive form of prostate cancer.

Adams, whose Dilbert comic strip has been a staple in newspapers and online platforms for decades, had not previously disclosed his health struggles to the public. The legendary cartoonist became a prominent pro-Trump voice around the time of the 2016 election, predicting the America First leader would win the race against what were, at the time, long odds due to his persuasion skills, and eventually endorsing him.

BREAKING: CBS News Chief Resigns Amidst Lawsuit Over Kamala Harris’s Edited ’60 Minutes’ Interview.

PULSE POINTS:

âť“What Happened: Wendy McMahon, CBS News president and CEO, announced her resignation, citing disagreements on the company’s direction.

👥 Who’s Involved: Wendy McMahon, George Cheeks (CBS CEO), Bill Owens (former “60 Minutes” producer), Paramount Global, and Donald Trump.

📍 Where & When: CBS News, announcement made Monday, October 2023.

💬 Key Quote: “It’s become clear that the company and I do not agree on the path forward,” McMahon stated in her resignation memo.

⚠️ Impact: McMahon’s departure is the second high-profile exit within a month, as CBS News faces internal tensions over a merger and a $20 billion lawsuit from Trump.

IN FULL:

Wendy McMahon, president and CEO of CBS News, announced her resignation on Monday, citing disagreements over the company’s future direction. Her departure marks the second significant leadership change at CBS News in recent weeks, following the exit of longtime “60 Minutes” producer Bill Owens.

In a memo to staff, McMahon, who assumed leadership of CBS News in 2023, called her tenure “a privilege and joy” but acknowledged recent challenges. “It’s become clear that the company and I do not agree on the path forward,” she wrote. “It’s time for me to move on and for this organization to move forward with new leadership.”

George Cheeks, president and CEO of CBS, responded in a separate memo, praising McMahon’s contributions. “Under her leadership, the competitive position and culture at our television stations have improved dramatically, and we’ve expanded local news significantly,” he stated.

McMahon’s resignation follows the exit of Bill Owens, who stepped down after alleging that “60 Minutes” had lost its journalistic independence. Owens cited unsustainable internal pressures from Paramount executives in his farewell memo.

The upheaval comes as CBS News’ parent company, Paramount Global, works to finalize an $8 billion merger with Skydance Media. The merger, which requires federal approval, has reportedly created internal discord. At the same time, Paramount is addressing a $20 billion lawsuit from former President Donald Trump. The lawsuit alleges that “60 Minutes” selectively edited an interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris.

While media types have dismissed the lawsuit as baseless, Owens pointed to mounting challenges in his resignation memo, writing, “Having defended this show — and what we stand for — from every angle, over time with everything I could, I am stepping aside so the show can move forward.”

CBS has yet to announce who will succeed McMahon as the network navigates these ongoing challenges.
