DeSantis ‘Pay for Play’ Scandal Emerges as Gov Gifts Top Jobs to Max Out Donors.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis appointed two businessmen to the Citizens Property Insurance Corporation Board of Governors – the tax-exempt, government-owned property insurer of last resort in the Sunshine State – after they donated thousands of dollars to his presidential campaign.

The news comes at the same time Floridians find their insurance rates skyrocketing as a result of a major, state-wide, industry scandal.

Carlos contributed the maximum donation of $6,600 to the Ron DeSantis for President campaign committee – as did his wife – earlier this year.

Jamie Shelton, appointed to the Board on the same day as Beruff in early October, also gave the DeSantis campaign a maximum donation in May.

The appointments have led to accusations of “pay for play” in the Floridian government. Governor DeSantis has been accused of both granting favors to and receiving favors from multiple wealthy benefactors, as well as pressuring lobbyists into funding his presidential run.

Early on in his campaign, Florida lobbyists were sent texts by publicly-funded state employees, supposedly acting in a personal capacity, soliciting donations through a text system tracking who was and was not giving money.

“What the f— am I supposed to do?” said one lobbyist who felt he might be punished for declining the request. “I have a lot of business in front of the DeSantis administration.”

Scalise Drops from Speaker’s Race.

Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La., announced Thursday evening that he would no longer be running for the position of House speaker. This decision comes just a day after he appeared to secure the GOP’s nomination for the top job.

Following a closed-door meeting with fellow Republicans, Scalise informed his colleagues of his choice to withdraw his name from consideration. Speaking to reporters outside of the meeting, Scalise stated, “Our conference still has to come together and is not there. There are still some people that have their own agendas.”

Scalise emphasized the need for unity within the party, saying, “This House of Representatives needs a speaker and we need to open up the House again. But clearly, not everybody is there. And they’re still schisms that have to get resolved.”

Scalise’s decision and comments suggest that there may be divisions within the Republican party that need to be addressed before a new speaker can be chosen. This is a developing story, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

Neocon Ron: DeSantis Accuses Trump of ‘Praising’ Hezbollah Amidst New War Push.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has launched his most brazen attack on former President Donald Trump to date, claiming Trump “attack[ed] our friend and ally, Israel” and falsely claiming he “praise[d] Hezbollah terrorists” during a speech in Florida.

The clip of Trump’s speech, however, undermines the claim. In context, it is clear the 45th President was referring to how “smart” Hezbollah leadership has been in comparison with the Biden government’s capabilities.

“I read all of Biden’s security people, can you imagine, national defense people, and they said ‘Gee, I hope Hezbollah doesn’t attack from the north, because that’s the most vulnerable spot!'” Trump said.

“You know, Hezbollah’s very smart, they’re all very smart. The press doesn’t like when I say it… I said that President Xi of China, 1.4 billion people, he controls it with an iron fist, I said he’s very smart – they killed me the next day,” he recalled.

In lock step with the corporate media, DeSantis chose to misrepresent this as “praise” for America’s enemies, rather than a sober warning not to reveal weaknesses that terrorists could exploit.

Trump described the Hamas raid as “savage” in the full version of his speech, and recalled how he “fought for Israel like no President in history, but then Crooked Joe Biden came along and tossed Israel to the bloodthirsty jihadists” by loosening sanctions on Iran and restoring aid to Gaza and the West Bank.

DeSantis’s claim that Trump attacked Israel also bore no resemblance to reality, as the 45th President was discussing Israeli intelligence failures, not the nation as a whole. Indeed, a full 86 percent of Israeli respondents to a poll released Thursday say their government’s failures were to blame for the Hamas attack.

DeSantis’s team have also been amplifying prominent neoconservatives in their attempt to frame Trump’s comments negatively, with national spokeswoman Carly Atchison sharing a post by war hawk Fox News correspondent Jennifer Griffin alleging the former president was “criticizing Bibi Netanyahu and Israel and praising Hezbollah as ‘smart.'” Griffin, in turn, was sharing a post by a Democrat PAC known as Meidas Touch, which was explicitly formed by the far-left to attack Donald Trump.

Neoconservatives have been using the backdrop of the Hamas attack on Israel to try and foment a new war with Iran.

U.S. is ‘Vibrant Enough’ to Fund Both Israel & Ukraine, Claims Biden Govt.

The United States is a “large enough, big enough, economically viable and vibrant enough country to be able to support both” Israel and Ukraine under Joe Biden, insists National Security Council strategic communications co-ordinator John Kirby.

“Both are important,” Kirby said – although whether American taxpayers really can fund the Israeli and Ukrainian militaries simultaneously appears questionable.

U.S. officials have already lamented a “mountain of steel” was built up for the Ukrainian counter-offensive this year, which has achieved very little progress and certainly no breakthrough with little time left before the Autumn rains render further operations unviable. They do not believe similar “mountain” can be found for the Ukrainians to undertake a second such counter-offensive, as “it doesn’t exist.”

Biden himself has already publicly admitted American ammunition is now running “low” – causing Donald Trump to rebuke him for undermining national security – and has had to resort to restocking Ukraine with cluster bombs, outlawed by many U.S. allies for their tendency to litter the ground with unexploded submunitions which kill and maim civilians for years.

Such reserves as still exist will doubtless be further depleted by the decision to send munitions to the Israelis, announced shortly after the Hamas terror raid on the Jewish State over the weekend.

DATA: Americans Don’t Seem to Mind Who Trump Picks as VP.

A strong majority of former President Donald Trump‘s grassroots supporters – 57 percent – are not concerned about his choice for his running mate in the 2024 presidential election, according to a recent Rasmussen Reports survey.

Rasmussen pollsters offered those surveyed a number of options for Trump’s potential Vice President, including whether they would be more inclined to vote for the 45th President if he chose a female, black, or non-political running mate. No option received more than 15 percent support.

Only 13 percent answered they were more likely to vote for Trump if he selected a female candidate. Eight percent said choosing a black person would make them more likely to support Trump next year. And a further 15 percent argued they were more likely to vote for him if he chose a “non-politician as his vice presidential running mate.” The remaining seven percent answered “not sure.”

The former President himself has toyed with the idea of a female vice president in his next administration, telling an interviewer in September, “I like the concept, but we’re going to pick the best person.”

Biden Was Being Grilled on Classified Documents During Hamas’ Israel Attacks.

Joe Biden was being interviewed as part of Special Counsel Robert Hur’s investigation into the discovery of classified documents in his Delaware home and private office at the Penn Biden Center, formerly run by Antony Blinken, as Hamas was unleashing an unprecedented attack on Israel from the Gaza Strip.

The White House has confirmed the 80-year-old Democrat was answering questions about the presence of classified documents in an office closet and in boxes near the spot in his garage where he kept his Corvette over Sunday and Monday, apparently voluntarily.

Biden’s possession of classified documents has received relatively little legacy media attention, and has been investigated much less aggressively than Donald Trump keeping similar material at his Mar-a-Lago estate – despite the fact Biden, as a former vice president and senator, did not have the same authority to declassify sensitive material as Trump.

The timing of Biden’s interview, in the midst of the international crisis following a huge incursion by Hamas terrorists into Israel and a devastating Israeli response, is unusual.

Trump has accused Biden of taking his eye of the ball in the Middle East, empowering state sponsors of terrorism such as Iran and “tossing Israel to the bloodthirsty terrorists and jihadists”.

Speaker of the House Election Preview: Jim Jordan Edition.

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), endorsed by former President Donald Trump, has quickly consolidated support among House conservatives as a candidate for Speaker. The Ohio Congressman spent much of his early career in Congress as a conservative counter to the more moderate Republican leadership. However under the previous Speakership of Kevin McCarthy, Jordan became a key leadership ally as chairman of the House Judiciary Committee.

First elected in 2006, Rep. Jordan has long been considered one of the Republican conference’s most conservative members. From 2011 to 2013, Jordan chaired the powerful Republican Study Committee (RSC). In 2023 the RSC and Rep. Jordan played an integral role in forcing a government shutdown in an effort to make substantial changes to Obamacare. Louisiana Republican Steve Scalise, Jordan’s current competitor for the Speaker’s gavel, succeeded him as chairman of the RSC in 2013.

In 2015, Jordan along with other House conservatives founded the Freedom Caucus, for which he served as its first chairman. The caucus has been at the center of efforts to push House Republicans in a more conservative direction.

Before becoming a McCarthy ally, Jordan was one of the former Speaker’s chief political opponents. When Speaker Paul Ryan retired from Congress, Jordan announced he would challenge McCarthy for the Speakership. When Republicans subsequently lost the House during the 2018 midterms, Jordan and McCarthy both ran for Minority Leader, with McCarthy ultimately prevailing 159–43 among Republican members.

Despite Rep. Jordan’s strong conservative bonafides, some in Washington, D.C. remain skeptical of a Jordan Speakership as he maintains close ties to several Big Tech firms and their political operations. The Ohio Congressman has been one of the key opponents of bi-partisan efforts to reform U.S. anti-trust laws – efforts the Big Tech companies have aggressively opposed.

According to public records, Jordan’s campaign committee received nearly $10,000 from Apple, $5,000 from semiconductor manufacturer Broadcom (the target of an EU anti-trust investigation) in 2022. Pfizer donated just over $13,000 to Jordan in 2020, while Microsoft gave nearly $7,000. Google contributed $11,000 to Jordan in 2018 and $10,000 in 2016. Since being first elected in 2006, Jordan has also received nearly $15,000 from the Consumer Technology Association PAC, a conduit for Big Tech money in politics.

One of Jordan’s key aides on the Judiciary Committee, Tyler Grimm, attended the January 2023 CES trade show in Las Vegas, Nevada. CES is an annual technology industry event organized by the Consumer Technology Association. According to House Ethics Committee disclosures, Grimm’s flight, lodging, registration fee, and meals were all paid for by the Consumer Technology Association. Key staffers for a number of Democrats and Republicans received similar arrangements from the Big Tech lobbying group per the Ethics Committee. Grimm is purported to be the author of a particularly hostile 2020 Judiciary Committee memo critical of Republican and Democrat efforts to use anti-trust as means of breaking up Big Tech companies.

On matters of fiscal and social conservatism, Rep. Jordan’s record has been exemplary among Republican members. However, conservatives who have worked to reign in Big Tech appear to hold reservations regarding the Congressman’s record.

WATCH: Hannity Brutalizes Dumbfounded RFK.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (RFK) was left startled in his latest interview with Sean Hannity after the Fox News host bombarded the newly declared Independent candidate for the 2024 presidential election with a number of questions about his overall fealty to left-wing political causes and candidates.

Hannity, explaining the potential for a three-way race in next year’s election, told RFK Jr. he had researched his background and concluded that he is “pretty liberal.”

“[Y]ou’ve called for curbing logging, oil drilling, fracking. You wanted to eliminate it. You called it… a victory for democracy. You wanna curb U.S. fossil fuel extraction. “Keep it in the ground,” you once tweeted. You want a ban on fossil fuel extraction, a ban on fracking. You called the NRA once, a ‘terror group,'” Hannity stated.

“You supported, over the years, Democrats – Gore, Kerry, Obama, Hillary. You praised Bernie Sanders multiple times. You support affirmative action. So, why is this party of yours– why didn’t they want to allow you to compete? ‘Cause that’s as pretty liberal of a record as anybody I know,” the Fox News host added.

RFK Jr tried to dismiss the summary as a “litany of talking points… I’ve made over 40 years,” yet Hannity fired back at the claim, telling the lifelong Democrat that the statements were from the past decade. The two went on to discuss Kennedy’s comments on the National Rifle Association (NRA) and fracking, among other issues.

Since declaring his candidacy, RFK Jr has courted a number of conservatives due to his strong stances on issues, such as vaccine mandates, COVID-19 policies, and ending U.S. involvement in forever wars.

He announced his independent run on Monday, much to the chagrin of his former party members and even his own family, who collectively called it “dangerous to our country.”

Speaker of the House Election Preview: Steve Scalise Edition.

Republican Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) has emerged as one of the top two contenders for the vacant position of Speaker of the House. The 58 year old Louisiana Congressman began quietly whipping votes for the top job just moments after McCarthy was ousted by Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL). The case for a Scalise speakership centers on his decades of political experience, quick ascent through Republican House leadership ranks, and the compelling fact he has literally had to battle for his life, twice.

Known for being a Member that works quietly behind to the scenes to advance legislation, it surprised some that Scalise played a fairly major role in Republican Congressional pushback against Big Tech. According to Nathan Leamer, a Trump administration appointee who served as a senior advisor to FCC Chairman Ajit Pai, Scalise was quick to work with conservatives who were concerned Google was throttling political fundraising and activist emails.

“Steve Scalise was ground zero of the effort to push back against Google censoring Republican emails,” Leamer told The National Pulse, while indicating Scalise allowed conservative tech experts to examine his own email data, noting that it was “extremely helpful in holding Google accountable.”

Some have reservations, however. Notably, former President Donald Trump has endorsed Scalise’s opponent, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH). Members of Republican Leadership often have to take hard votes that can upset both more conservative Members and voters alike. Votes to support government omnibus bills and continuing resolutions over the past years have resulted in Scalise only attaining a 75 out of 100 ‘Conservative’ life-time score from Heritage Action. Similarly, NumbersUSA says Scalise’s voting record on curbing mass immigration has only earned him a “B” grade.

Prior to serving in Congress, Scalise served in the Louisiana state legislature from 1996 until 2008. In May 2008, he won a special election for Congress, replacing Rep. Bobby Jindal (R-LA), who had just been elected as governor. In 2013 the Louisiana Congressman took over the conservative Republican Study Committee, succeeding Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH). Just over a year later, Scalise joined House Republican leadership as Whip. When Republicans retook the House majority after the 2022 mid-term elections he ascended to House Majority Leader.

In June of 2017, Congressman Scalise was shot by Democrat activist and Sen. Bernie Sanders supporter James Hodgkinson during a Republican practice for the Congressional Baseball Game. Hodgkinson fired upwards of 50 rounds from a rifle before police were able to locate him and end the rampage. The bullet that hit Scalise traveled through his pelvis, resulting in organ damage and severe internal bleeding caused by shattered bone. According to Dr. Jack Sava, when Scalise arrived at MedStar Washington Hospital he was in shock and faced “an imminent risk of death.” After several surgeries and an extensive hospital stay, Scalise returned to Congress in September of 2017.

Last month, Scalise was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer. Prior to the announcement, Scalise said he had already begun treatment and would continue with his work as a Member of Congress. The Louisiana Congressman has said that doctors believe his prognosis is very good and that the initial rounds of treatment have reduced the presence of cancer in his body.

Biden Has Failed to Remove 99% of Illegals, Released Over 2.1m Into U.S.

The House of Representatives Committee on the Judiciary and its Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement have produced new data showing the Joe Biden regime has “failed to remove, through immigration court removal proceedings, over 99 percent of those illegal aliens who have been released into the country” since the elderly Democrat took office.

“Of the more than 5 million illegal alien encounters from January 20, 2021, through March 31, 2023, at least 2,464,424 illegal aliens had no confirmed departure from the United States as of March 31, 2023,” the committees, headed by Rep. Jim Jordan and Rep. Tom McClintock, record in their latest interim staff report.

“Of the illegal aliens encountered in those 26 months, [the Department of Homeland Security] released at least 2,148,738 illegal aliens into the United States,” the report adds.

The committees found only a tiny fraction of asylum seekers released into the country – six percent – had even been screened for a reasonable fear of persecution in their supposed homelands.

“This data contradict[s] [Homeland Security] Secretary [Alejandro] Mayorkas’ statements that the southwest border is closed and that illegal aliens are ‘quickly’ removed,” the report warns.

“Instead, with more than 99 percent of illegal aliens staying inside the United States after being released by the Biden Administration, there is virtually no enforcement of our immigration laws.”
