Federal Appeals Court Rules Trump NOT Immune in Elections Cases.

A federal appeals court in Washington, D.C., has ruled that presidential immunity does not bar former President Donald Trump from prosecution over allegations he interfered in an official government proceeding on January 6th, 2021. The three-judge panel, which last month heard arguments as to whether the former President’s efforts to prevent the certification of the 2020 election were covered under ‘Official Acts,’ rejected the claim and ordered the prosecution to proceed.

“We have balanced former President Trump’s asserted interests in executive immunity against the vital public interests that favor allowing this prosecution to proceed. We conclude that ‘[c]oncerns of public policy, especially as illuminated by our history and the structure of our government’ compel the rejection of his claim of immunity in this case,” the judges wrote in their opinion, adding: “We also have considered his contention that he is entitled to categorical immunity from criminal liability for any assertedly “official” action that he took as President — a contention that is unsupported by precedent, history or the text and structure of the Constitution.”

In response to the ruling, the Trump presidential campaign released a statement warning of the repercussions should presidential immunity be eroded. “If immunity is not granted to a President, every future President who leaves office will be immediately indicted by the opposing party. Without complete immunity, a President of the United States would not be able to properly function,” Trump spokesman Steven Cheung said before continuing: “Deranged Jack Smith’s prosecution of President Trump for his Presidential, official acts is unconstitutional under the doctrine of Presidential Immunity and the Separation of Powers.”

He added, “President Trump respectfully disagrees with the D.C. Circuit’s decision and will appeal it to safeguard the Presidency and the Constitution. ”

Biden Department of Justice special prosecutor Jack Smith’s Washington, D.C. case against Trump had been placed on hold while the court considered the immunity claim. Trump has until February 12th to either appeal the decision to the United States Supreme Court or ask the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit to grant his claim an en banc rehearing before the full D.C. Circuit.

Denver Evicts Illegals From Shelters, City At ‘Breaking Point.’

The city of Denver, Colorado, has begun removing illegal aliens from its shelters as it continues to be overwhelmed with new migrant arrivals. As of last Friday, 3,895 illegal aliens were occupying city shelters.

“Starting on Monday, 150 migrants in city shelters will be discharged. Then that number will fluctuate between 50-100 every day until all 3,800 are out of the ten shelters currently run by the city,” said Jon Ewing of Denver Human Services.

A self-designated sanctuary city, Denver has welcomed nearly 40,000 migrants in the past year, according to Mayor Mike Johnston (D). However, with city shelters bursting at the seams and resources dwindling, Johnston has indicated that the city’s ability to accept more migrants could be over.

“I think our city is very close to its breaking point now. And the things we need are — yes, we need federal dollars, but the most important thing is we need, you know, work authorization for folks when they arrive, and we need those resources at the border,” said Johnston during an interview with Fox & Friends.

The removals come as states across the country continue to grapple with the ongoing crisis at the southern border. A recently introduced bill in the Senate attempts to address the crisis, tying border measures with foreign aid to Ukraine and Israel. The bill has been heavily criticized by leading Republicans, including former President Trump, and is unlikely to pass.

‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ Final Season Premiere Includes Leftist Talking Point on Georgia Voting Laws.

‘Seinfeld’ and ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ creator Larry David, a noted Democrat, set his sights on Georgia’s Election Integrity Act in the season premiere of ‘Curb’ on HBO on Sunday. The episode sees Larry David violating Georgia’s 2021 law, which includes a provision that disallows anyone who is not an election worker from offering water or food to voters within a 150-foot radius of a polling location.

In the episode, David’s character travels to Atlanta, where he encounters a relative of his friend and roommate standing in a voting line in blistering heat. Upon seeing her discomfort and learning that she has been waiting for over two hours, David retrieves bottled water from his vehicle.

However, his “good deed” is quickly recognized as a legal transgression, and officers arrest him. “Sir, in the navy blazer, put your hands in the air. You’re under arrest for violation of the Election Integrity Act. It is illegal for anyone in Georgia to provide food or water to voters in line at the polls,” an officer says.

The episode ends with a free-frame of David mimicking President Donald J. Trump’s iconic mugshot.

A Federal judge recently upheld other critical provisions of Georgia’s Election Integrity Act, which tightened registration dates and mail-in voting for runoff elections. Though Democrats like David may take issue with Georgia’s law and others like it, a majority of Americans believe cheating will likely occur during the 2024 presidential election.

Schumer Threatens America: Pass Open Borders Bill or We’ll Send Your Kids to Die in Ukraine.

In an interview with Mika Brzezinski on MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ on Monday, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) warned that if the Senate’ border bill’ fails to pass, America will become embroiled in a European land war against Russia. He also implied that the current Russo-Ukraine war is already a war between Russia and the United States.

“We’re at a turning point in America. This bill is crucial, and history will look back on it and say, ‘Did America fail itself’?’” Schumer told Brzezinski. “Why is it crucial? Well, if we don’t aid Ukraine, Putin will… walk all over Ukraine, we will lose the war, and we could be fighting in Eastern Europe in a NATO ally in a few years [sic]. Americans won’t like that,” he continued.

Schumer’s comments came as an increasing number of Congressional Republicans — and former President Donald Trump — are voicing their opposition to the bill, which not only fails to address the border crisis adequately but also ties its border provisions to over $60 billion of aid to Ukraine and over $14 billion of aid to Israel.

“Only a fool, or a Radical Left Democrat, would vote for this horrendous Border Bill,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social on Monday. “It takes the HORRIBLE JOB the Democrats have done on Immigration and the Border, absolves them, and puts it all squarely on the shoulders of Republicans,” Trump wrote in the post, adding: “Don’t be STUPID!!! We need a separate Border and Immigration Bill. It should not be tied to foreign aid in any way, shape, or form! The Democrats broke Immigration and the Border. They should fix it.”

WATCH: Biden Claims He Recently Met With French President Who Died in 1996.

President Joe Biden claims he recently spoke to “Mitterand from Germany, I mean France” at a G7 summit, referring to President François Mitterrand of France — who left office in 1995 and has been dead for 28 years.

Denouncing Donald Trump and January 6th “insurrectionists” during a speech in Nevada, the 81-year-old Democrat said of Trump: “January 6th insurrectionists, you know what he calls them? Patriots!”

“Right, right, right after I was elected, I went to what they call a G7 meeting, all the NATO leaders,” Biden explained — although the G7 does not include every NATO member, and does include Japan, which is outside NATO.

“I sat down and I said, ‘America is back,’ and Mitterand from Germany, I mean France, looked at me, and said, said, ‘You know, why, how long you back for?'”

He added that the Chancellor of Germany — Angela Merkel at the time, though he did not attempt to name her — demanded: “What would you say, Mr. President, if you picked up the paper tomorrow in The London Times and The London Times said a thousand people break through the House of Commons… to stop the election of the Prime Minister?”

The United Kingdom’s Prime Minister, whom the British monarch invites to form a government, is not “elected” in the House of Commons, and The London Times is not a real newspaper.

It is not the first time Biden has confused the long-dead Mitterrand with the current President of France, Emmanuel Macron, with the Democrat telling a similar version of the story and making the same mistake in 2022.

Trump Blasts ‘Foolish, Horrendous, Stupid’ Border Deal.

Former President Donald Trump has come out against the Senate Ukraine/Border supplemental funding bill, slamming the deal as “a Death Wish for The Republican Party.” In a post on Truth Social on Monday morning, the former Republican President said, “Only a fool, or a Radical Left Democrat, would vote for this horrendous Border Bill.”

“It takes the HORRIBLE JOB the Democrats have done on Immigration and the Border, absolves them, and puts it all squarely on the shoulders of Republicans,” Trump posted, adding: “Don’t be STUPID!!! We need a separate Border and Immigration Bill. It should not be tied to foreign aid in any way, shape, or form! The Democrats broke Immigration and the Border. They should fix it.”

Late Sunday night, Senate leaders unveiled their Ukraine aid and U.S. border security supplemental funding bill negotiated by Sens. Sinema (I-AZ), Murray (D-WA), Lankford (R-OK), and Tillis (R-NC). Over the past several weeks, the Republican negotiators — Lankford and Tillis — have come under increasing criticism from their Republican Senate colleagues over provisions in the legislation that would limit the President’s power to shut down the border by proclamation. Opponents also point to the expansion of work visas and other programs in the legislation as indicative of it being an immigrant labor bill and not border security legislation.

The leadership-backed legislation must gain 60 votes in the Senate to overcome a filibuster. With former President Trump joining the opposition to the Senate deal, Sens. Schumer (D-NY) and McConnell (R-KY) may find it increasingly difficult to whip those 60 votes.

Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT), who heads up the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), has already come out against the funding supplemental. Daines, widely viewed as a moderate on immigration, has supported the expansion of visa and guest worker programs in the past.

WATCH: Trump Says He Expects Changes at the RNC.

Former President Donald Trump, in an interview with Maria Bartiromo on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures, insinuated possible changes forthcoming in the operations of the Republican National Committee (RNC). While acknowledging RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel’s initial contribution to his campaign in Michigan, Trump said he expects changes within the RNC.

“She did OK, initially in the RNC, I would say right now, there’ll probably be some changes made,” he said in the Sunday morning interview.

Trump’s comments came as a response to Bartiromo’s remarks on RNC chapters struggling financially and the flourishing economic condition of the Democrats’ committee. Ronna McDaniel has surrounded herself with establishment acolytes at the RNC, flubbing a number of election years and causing further harm to right wing election integrity efforts. McDaniel hands vendor contracts to her friends, and has used RNC cash on makeovers and private flights for herself.

Trump added, “You have to understand, I have nothing to do with the RNC.” He had previously urged the RNC to save funds for battling the Democrats instead of holding low-rated primary debates.

Rapper 50 Cent Suggests ‘Trump is the Answer’ In Reaction to NYC’s Migrant Madness.

Famed rapper Curtis Jackson, known by his stage name 50 Cent, took to Instagram on Saturday to criticize New York City Mayor Eric Adams over a recently announced plan to distribute money to illegal immigrants using pre-loaded debit cards. Sharing a photograph of a New York Post article outlining the initiative, Jackson expressed his confusion and concern over the matter, candidly stating, “Maybe Trump is the answer.”

Adams’s plan, revealed last Friday, involves distributing $53 million in pre-paid debit cards, dubbed “Immediate Response Cards”, to aid illegal immigrants in food purchases from bodegas, grocery stores, supermarkets, and convenience stores, much like the state’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program for low-income residents.

The news has seen 50 Cent become one of a growing number of personalities in the music industry to voice support for former President Donald Trump, joining rapper Snoop Dogg who recently declared his respect for Trump. He stated, “He ain’t done nothing wrong to me. He has done only great things for me. He pardoned Michael Harris, so I have nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump.”

Meta Oversight Board Member Says 2020 Election Meddling Was Not Enough, Will Do More In 2024.

Pamela San Martín, a member of Meta’s oversight board, suggested in an interview that Facebook did not do enough to control user speech during previous election cycles — Meta is the parent company of Facebook. Despite actions taken against the New York Post‘s distribution of news on Hunter Biden’s laptop and former President Donald Trump’s removal from both Facebook and Instagram, San Martín claimed that more needed to be done to address potential misuse of the platform, including coordinated campaigns and bot activity aimed at undermining electoral trust and stability.

In the run-up to the 2020 elections, measures were taken by Facebook to restrict the distribution of certain news and remove ads making false claims about voter fraud. Responses from Facebook included taking down posts, flagging content for fact-checking, and promising a ban on political ads making false claims, especially concerning voter fraud. Despite these efforts, San Martín insists these attempts to control user speech were insufficient.

San Martín praised Meta’s recent efforts to further control content related to election issues, including working with electoral authorities, adding labels to politically related posts, redirecting users to reliable information sources, and implementing message forwarding limits on WhatsApp. However, she emphasized a need for Facebook to continue capturing the impact of its own algorithms and recommendation systems on the democratic process, indicating she wants to see more of such efforts, not less. San Martín told Wired, “Social media platforms need to learn from past mistakes to be able to address them better this year.”

U.S. Faces Recession Risk In Second Half Of 2024.

The global head of credit for Vanguard — the second-largest global asset manager with $8.6 trillion in investments — has warned that there are signs the United States could slip into an economic recession in the second half of 2024. Chris Alwine, who leads the global credit team at Vanguard, says he believes the Federal Reserve hasn’t yet pulled off its ‘soft landing’ and that strong jobs numbers will likely delay any interest rate cuts until much later in the year.

“The challenge that the Fed has is that to be able to land that soft landing, which is always a low probability, they have to be able to ease policy at the exact correct time, which is difficult, and they need a little bit of luck,” Alwine said in a recent interview with Barron’s. He added that 2024 is likely to be “a tale of two halves” with greater economic risks emerging in the 3rd and 4th quarters.

“What would precipitate that shallow recession is that corporations are just not hiring, with a modest increase in layoffs,” Alwine noted.

Strong job market numbers over the past few months, cheered by the Biden government, will likely cause the Federal Reserve to push back an expected cut to interest rates until at least the 3rd quarter of 2024. With rates remaining elevated, layoffs in capital-intensive industries are likely to continue — eventually causing the hot job market to cool.

Despite the positive employment reports, voter confidence in the economy remains low. High interest rates, continued worries about inflation, sluggish GDP projections, and fears of a recession are all likely drivers of President Joe Biden’s low economic approval rating.
