These House Republicans Blocked Censure of Anti-ICE Dem Rep McIver.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: An effort to censure Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) was blocked after some Republicans joined Democrats to vote against it.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ), Rep. Clay Higgins (R-LA), and several other Republicans and Democrats in the House.

📍WHEN & WHERE: September 3, 2025, in the U.S. House of Representatives.

đź’¬KEY QUOTE: “I’m going to have some conversations with my colleagues, with Ms. McIver in particular, and some of our leadership.” – Rep. Yvette Clarke (D-NY)

🎯IMPACT: The censure resolution against McIver was tabled, creating uncertainty as to whether a similar measure against Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL) will proceed.

IN FULL

A censure resolution aimed at Representative LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) was thwarted in the House after a coalition of Democrats and Republicans-in-name-only (RINOs) voted against it. The resolution, initiated by Rep. Clay Higgins (R-LA), sought to reprimand McIver for her involvement in the alleged assault of federal law enforcement officers outside an immigration detention center in May.

Five Republicans, including Reps. Don Bacon (R-NE) and Mike Flood (R-NE) joined Democrats in voting to table the measure.  =Reps. Dave Joyce (R-OH), Mike Turner (R-OH), and David Valadao (R-CA) also voted for the table motion. Two other Republicans, Reps. Andrew Garbarino (R-NY) and Nathaniel Moran (R-TX) opted to vote present. Rep. Turner claimed after the roll call that he inadvertently voted to kill the censure measure, though his vote would not have changed the final outcome.

The incident in question occurred during an oversight visit to a Newark, New Jersey, facility, where McIver and other Democratic officials were present and ended up physically interfering with law enforcement. Federal agents arrested the city’s mayor, Ras Baraka, and charges against McIver were eventually brought by acting U.S. Attorney Alina Habba, accusing the Congresswoman of assaulting federal agents.

McIver has denied all allegations, with her legal team asserting that federal agents’ actions led to an “unnecessary, reckless, and disproportionate escalation” at the scene.

The failed censure of McIver has prompted Democrats to consider withdrawing a similar resolution brought against Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL) in retaliation, as they weigh their next steps. Rep. Yvette Clarke (D-NY), who is the sponsor of the censure measure against Mills, said after the McIver vote: “I’m going to have some conversations with my colleagues, with Ms. McIver in particular, and some of our leadership, and we’ll make that determination.”

The Ford Foundation Is Pouring $20 Million a Month Into Far-Left Activism.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: The Ford Foundation has been funneling millions of dollars into leftist advocacy groups, including those promoting the abolition of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Concerningly, taxpayer-funded grants have been used to support some of the same initiatives.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: The Ford Foundation, Make the Road New York (MRNY), CASA, Arabella Advisors, and various leftist nonprofits receiving grants.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Since January 2024, with activities and funding spanning the U.S. and international regions, including Africa and South America.

đź’¬KEY QUOTE: “Media Matters for America, approved for a $250,000 Ford grant in November 2024, was founded by Clinton Family attack lapdog David Brock. As that history would indicate, Media Matters is the epitome of a rabidly partisan, anti-Republican media platform. The only reason to give them money is to advance the political and policy messaging of Democratic presidents and congressional leadership.” – Capital Research Center

🎯IMPACT: The Ford Foundation’s funding has empowered far-left activists internationally.

IN FULL

The Ford Foundation, one of America’s largest and wealthiest philanthropic institutions, is under scrutiny for funneling tens of millions of dollars into far-left advocacy groups pushing radical agendas, often with taxpayer money backing the same causes.

For instance, since January 2024, two left-wing NGOs, Make the Road New York (MRNY) and CASA, have received $1.1 million from the Ford Foundation. Both groups have called for the abolition of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The former Biden regime approved over $7 million in federal grants to these same groups, raising questions about whether taxpayers are unknowingly helping bankroll extremist political activism.

This funding pipeline came under fire during a June 4, 2024, hearing before the House Committee on Government Oversight. Scott Walter, president of the Capital Research Center, testified on what he described as “blatantly partisan funding” that crosses the line between charitable work and political campaigning.

Examples include $3.4 million awarded to the Center for American Progress, a prominent left-wing think tank, and $1.25 million given to Hammer & Hope, a journal that openly embraces communist ideology. Hammer & Hope has also been aided by the New Venture Fund, part of the left-wing dark money nexus around Arabella Advisors.

New Venture is one of seven donor NGOs managed by Arabella Advisors, a network that annually rakes in more than $1 billion from

The Foundation’s political agenda extends to energy policy as well. Since 2024, Ford has poured nearly $6 million into nine organizations that oppose nuclear power. Internationally, Ford is pushing a “just energy transition” in Africa and South America, spending millions on unreliable alternatives in regions already plagued by severe energy poverty.

At home, Ford’s “Civic Engagement and Government” program is helping fund left-wing voter turnout operations, including NEO Philanthropy’s State Infrastructure Fund and the Tides Center. Even media outlets like George Soros-linked Media Matters for America and 19th News are receiving Ford dollars to amplify progressive talking points under the guise of journalism.

“Media Matters for America, approved for a $250,000 Ford grant in November 2024, was founded by Clinton Family attack lapdog David Brock. As that history would indicate, Media Matters is the epitome of a rabidly partisan, anti-Republican media platform. The only reason to give them money is to advance the political and policy messaging of Democratic presidents and congressional leadership,” the Capital Research Center noted.

This is not a new direction for the Ford Foundation. Since the 1960s, the Foundation has veered sharply left, backing causes ranging from racial separatism and radical education reform to early pro-abortion advocacy.

Critics argue that by exploiting its tax-exempt status, the Ford Foundation is operating more like a political machine than a nonprofit, one with global reach, deep pockets, and little accountability.

Shutdown Showdown Looms as Congress Reconvenes.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: Lawmakers reconvene today after a monthlong recess, facing a packed legislative agenda ahead of a federal government shutdown deadline.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Members of Congress returning to Capitol Hill.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Tuesday, at the U.S. Capitol.

🎯IMPACT: Debates over government funding and Jeffrey Epstein will likely dominate discussions.

IN FULL

Lawmakers return to Capitol Hill on Tuesday after a monthlong recess, facing a September agenda dominated by a government shutdown deadline less than a month away. Bipartisan cooperation is needed to pass next year’s funding bills, with Republican majorities in the House and Senate having struggled to advance appropriations without the Democrats.

Congressional Democrats will likely demand the restoration of Medicaid and Affordable Care Act funds as part of a deal, after they were cut significantly for certain people, including migrants, under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, passed this summer with no Democratic support.

Beyond funding, Congress is grappling with other priorities. Senate Republicans are considering rule changes, to counter Democrat disruption of President Donald J. Trump’s nominations, and tariffs on Russia’s trading partners, to increase pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin to make peace with Ukraine.

In the House, Speaker Mike Johnson faces internal party divisions over whether to push Attorney General Pam Bondi and the Department of Justice (DOJ) to release additional Jeffrey Epstein investigation files. Democrats and some Republicans are demanding greater transparency on the investigation into the deceased pedophile’s operations after Bondi released a memo stating that the matter was essentially closed.

Notably, Democrats expressed little interest in the matter when they controlled the DOJ and the legislature.

J.D. Vance Urges English Patriots to ‘Push Back’ Against Suppression of St. George’s Cross.

PULSE POINTS

âť“WHAT HAPPENED: U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance is encouraging British campaigners to resist attempts to suppress England’s Saint George’s Cross flag, amidst backlash from municipal governments.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: J.D. Vance, British municipal governments, and patriots raising English and British flags in public places as part of “Operation Raise the Colours.”

📍WHEN & WHERE: Recent weeks across England.

💬KEY QUOTE: “We should push back against the crazies who say we should be so ashamed of our culture and of our heritage that we shouldn’t be willing to fly a flag. It’s craziness.” – J.D. Vance

🎯IMPACT: The debate has intensified over cultural pride and free speech, with councils removing flags and activists urging resistance to such actions.

IN FULL

Vice President J.D. Vance has called on British patriots to “push back against the crazies” who oppose flying the St. George’s Cross flag in public. The Vice President emphasized the importance of cultural pride and heritage amidst criticism of “Operation Raise the Colours,” a grassroots campaign that has seen English and British flags raised in public places across England, from municipal governments.

Hundreds of St. George’s Cross and Union flags have been raised across the United Kingdom in recent weeks, sparking backlash from local politicians. Some councils, including those for Tower Hamlets in London and England’s second city of Birmingham, have moved to pull down the flags, with the municipal government for Essex sending an email to workers claiming the national symbols can “evoke feelings of discomfort and be associated with anti-immigration rhetoric.” In Bromsgrove, a police investigation has been launched after a St George’s Cross was painted on a mini-roundabout.

“It’s OK to be proud of your country. It’s, in fact, a good thing to be proud of your country,” Vance stated. He also warned against the growing trend of cultural shame, recalling an incident in which a friend of his was afraid to fly the American flag during the Black Lives Matter riots of 2020. “We’ve got to call that craziness out. I’d encourage our European friends to follow suit,” he added.

Vance’s remarks echoed his previously expressed concerns about European censorship, which he outlined in Germany and repeated during a recent visit to the United Kingdom.

Trump Moves $4.9 Billion ‘Pocket Rescission’ to Cut ‘Woke and Weaponized’ Foreign Aid.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: President Donald J. Trump has proposed a $4.9 billion cut to foreign aid funds using a rarely invoked maneuver known as a pocket rescission.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: President Trump, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Senator Susan Collins (R-ME), and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY).

📍WHEN & WHERE: The proposal was announced in late August 2025, with the fiscal year ending on September 30, 2025.

đź’¬KEY QUOTE: “For the first time in nearly 50 years, the President is using his authority under the Impoundment Control Act to deploy a pocket rescission, cancelling $4.9 billion in woke and weaponized foreign aid money that violates the President’s America First priorities,” said an OMB spokesman.

🎯IMPACT: The pocket rescission would defund diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), climate change, and LGBT propaganda abroad, but will face resistance from Democrats and Republicans-in-name-only on Capitol Hill.

IN FULL

President Donald J. Trump has moved to cancel $4.9 billion in foreign aid funding previously approved by Congress, using a rarely invoked tactic under the Impoundment Control Act known as a “pocket rescission.” The action, announced just weeks before the end of the fiscal year, blocks the funds from being spent by allowing them to expire on September 30 without a congressional vote.

The targeted funds were allocated to the State Department, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), and international assistance programs. According to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), the move reflects Trump’s commitment to his “America First” agenda.

“For the first time in nearly 50 years, the President is using his authority under the Impoundment Control Act to deploy a pocket rescission, cancelling $4.9 billion in woke and weaponized foreign aid money,” an OMB spokesman said.

The rescinded accounts include USAID’s $3.2 billion Development Assistance Fund, which supported controversial programs on climate change, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), and LGBT initiatives, such as $4 million for global LGBT awareness and $2 million for feminist organizing in Africa.

The $322 million Democracy Fund, criticized for promoting “gender responsive governance” and LGBT projects abroad, was also cut. Funding was withdrawn from UNESCO and the World Trade Organization (WTO) due to their globalist agendas and failure to align with U.S. interests.

U.S. contributions to United Nations (UN) peacekeeping operations were also slashed, including $393 million for general peacekeeping and $445 million for specific operations, amid concerns over inefficiency, sexual exploitation by peacekeepers, and other abuses. These funds had backed projects including infrastructure for foreign militaries.

The decision has drawn criticism from Democrats and Republicans-in-name-only (RINOs) in the GOP. Senator Susan Collins (R-ME), chairwoman of the Senate Appropriations Committee, called the move an attempt to sidestep Congress. “Given that this package was sent to Congress very close to the end of the fiscal year when the funds are scheduled to expire, this is an apparent attempt to rescind appropriated funds without congressional approval,” Collins said.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said the action undermines bipartisan cooperation. “Reasonable Republicans don’t have to go along with the madness; Republicans don’t have to be a rubber stamp for this carnage,” Schumer complained.

The pocket rescission comes amid a broader overhaul of U.S. foreign aid under Trump. Earlier this year, the administration dismantled USAID’s global development programs, terminating billions in contracts and shifting remaining operations to the State Department. In March, Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed that “tens of billions of USAID contracts” had been cut. In July, Trump signed the Rescissions Act of 2025, eliminating an additional $8.3 billion in foreign assistance.

TX Gov. Signs Redistricting Bill, Cutting Five Democrat House Seats.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) signed a new redistricting bill to redraw the state’s congressional map, favoring Republicans.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Governor Abbott, Texas legislators, and President Donald J. Trump.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The bill was signed on Friday in Texas following approval by the state house and senate.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Big WIN for the Great State of Texas!!! Everything Passed, on our way to FIVE more Congressional seats and saving your Rights, your Freedoms, and your Country, itself.” – Donald Trump

🎯IMPACT: The new map will increase Republican-majority districts from 25 to 30, removing several Democratic-majority districts.

IN FULL

Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) has signed a new redistricting bill that favors Republicans in the state’s congressional map. The bill, signed on Friday, follows a contentious process during which state Democrats staged a weeks-long walkout earlier this month.

In a video posted to X (formerly Twitter), Abbott described the bill as creating “the one big, beautiful map that ensures fairer representation in the United States Congress for Texas.” The bill was approved by the Texas House of Representatives in an 88-52 party-line vote before being passed by the Texas Senate early last Saturday.

President Donald J. Trump, whose request for new congressional maps prompted the redistricting, celebrated the move last week on Truth Social, writing: “Big WIN for the Great State of Texas!!! Everything Passed, on our way to FIVE more Congressional seats and saving your Rights, your Freedoms, and your Country, itself.” He added, “Texas never lets us down. Florida, Indiana, and others are looking to do the same thing.”

The new map increases Republican-majority districts from 25 to 30 out of Texas’s 38 districts. It also eliminates Democrat-majority districts in key urban areas such as Houston, Austin, and the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

However, the move has drawn backlash from Democrat-aligned election and lawfare groups. Demetria McCain, policy director for the Legal Defense Fund, stated, “Black voters are not a tool for legislators to use to cut up maps as they see fit. This redistricting process in Texas is a shameful power grab at the expense of Black voices.”

Oni Blair, executive director of the ACLU Texas chapter, also condemned the move, calling it “disgraceful.”

All German Political Parties Agree to Stay Silent on Immigration During Election—Except One.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: Establishment political parties on both the left and the right in Cologne, Germany, have signed an agreement to promote positive messaging about immigration and not bring up its downsides during local elections. However, the populist Alternative for Germany (AfD) party is not part of the pact.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: The Christian Democratic Union (CDU), Social Democratic Party (SPD), Greens, Free Democratic Party (FDP), Left Party, Volt, Die Partei, the Cologne Round Table for Integration association, and the AfD.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Cologne, Germany, ahead of local elections scheduled for September 14.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Our parties are so stupid that they don’t see the tactical disadvantage [in not discussing immigration] and are so weak-minded that they don’t see that they themselves are damaging our democracy by not wanting to talk about important issues.” – Political scientist Werner Patzelt

🎯IMPACT: The agreement suppresses debate on immigration but may inadvertently bolster the AfD, which has a strong stance against mass migration.

IN FULL

With local elections looming in Cologne, Germany, on September 14, all major political parties except the populist Alternative for Germany (AfD) have signed an agreement to avoid criticizing immigration or linking it to social issues like crime, unemployment, or public safety. Infamously, Cologne was the epicenter of a series of mass sex attacks by migrant mobs on New Year’s Eve 2015-16, with 650 sexual assaults reported in the city, including 22 rapes.

The so-called “fairness agreement,” organized by the Cologne Round Table for Integration, was signed by the Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s notionally right-wing Christian Democratic Union (CDU), the leftist Social Democratic Party (SPD), the far-left Greens, the neoliberal Free Democratic Party (FDP), the Left Party, Volt, and Die Partei. The pledge commits signatories to speak positively about migration and to avoid blaming refugees or migrants for any local problems, despite their proven link to increased sexual offending and other criminality.

The pact also includes promises to fight racism and anti-Semitism, with church officials tasked with monitoring compliance. Citizens have been encouraged to report candidates or campaigners who break the rules.

Notably, the populist Alternative for Germany (AfD) party was excluded from the agreement. Organizers stated the anti-mass migration party, currently the second-largest in Germany, “does not share their values.”

AfD Cologne spokesman Christer Cremer criticized the move: “I view this fairness agreement somewhat critically, because I believe it is intended to suppress debate. Especially during the election campaign, it must be possible to address all issues, including issues of migration.”

Political scientist Werner Patzelt echoed those concerns, calling the strategy “tactically stupid” and warning that it only boosts the AfD by erasing pressing concerns from the public discourse. “Our parties are so stupid that they don’t see the tactical disadvantage and are so weak-minded that they don’t see that they themselves are damaging our democracy by not wanting to talk about important issues,” he said.

Some signatories are already facing backlash. The CDU came under fire for allegedly violating the agreement after distributing a flyer opposing a planned refugee center in the Agnesviertel neighborhood. CDU leader Serap Güler dismissed the criticism as “absurd,” saying the flyer reflected concerns about the scale of the project, not hostility toward migrants.

The controversy comes as the AfD continues to surge in national polling. A Forsa poll released August 12 shows the AfD leading nationwide with 26 percent, ahead of Chancellor Merz’s CDU/CSU bloc at 24 percent.

This rise in the AfD’s support comes amid growing debate over whether the populist party should even be allowed to participate in Germany’s democratic system. In October 2023, lawmakers began crafting legislation aimed at banning the party, claiming it threatens the country’s constitutional order. But the idea has sparked fierce opposition: a July 2025 survey by the Allensbach Institute found a majority of Germans, 52 percent, oppose banning the AfD, with only 27 percent in favor.

The Trump administration in the United States has also warned against such a ban, with Secretary of State Marco Rubio saying of a previous move to designate the AfD as an extremist organization, “Germany just gave its spy agency new powers to surveil the opposition. That’s not democracy—it’s tyranny in disguise.”

Trump Terminates Security Detail for Kamala Harris.

PULSE POINTS

âť“WHAT HAPPENED: Former Vice President Kamala Harris’s extended Secret Service protection has been canceled by President Donald J. Trump, effective September 1, 2025.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: President Trump, Kamala Harris, and the United States Secret Service.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The decision takes effect September 1, 2025.

đź’¬KEY QUOTE: “The vice president is grateful to the United States Secret Service for their professionalism, dedication, and unwavering commitment to safety,” said Kirsten Allen, a senior adviser to Harris.

🎯IMPACT: Harris will no longer receive federal security protection, which was extended beyond the standard six months by former President Joe Biden in an order President Trump has now reversed.

IN FULL

President Donald J. Trump has canceled extended Secret Service protection for former Vice President and failed Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, effective September 1, 2025, according to a senior White House official. Typically, former vice presidents receive six months of Secret Service protection after leaving office, but Harris’s coverage was extended to one year by then‑President Joe Biden in an order that President Trump has now reversed.

Harris is set to embark on a 15‑city book tour in support of her memoir, 107 Days, which recounts her brief time as the Democratic presidential nominee after Biden’s withdrawal from the race. The tour, beginning in September, spans major U.S. cities, including New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Houston, San Francisco, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Durham, Birmingham, and international stops in London and Toronto, and concludes in Miami on November 20.

The decision to terminate Harris’s additional security was communicated in a letter to the Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, that Secret Service protection beyond the six months required by law should be discontinued on September 1, 2025.

Kirsten Allen, a senior adviser to Harris, expressed gratitude on her behalf to the Secret Service, stating, “The vice president is grateful to the United States Secret Service for their professionalism, dedication, and unwavering commitment to safety.”

Since leaving office, Harris has focused on public engagement and writing. She notably announced in July 2025 that she will not run for California governor in 2026, a decision that closed off speculation about a state-level comeback. At the same time, she has not ruled out a potential second presidential bid in 2028.

President Trump’s move comes after his administration also removed Secret Service security for several others, including former national security official John Bolton. Bolton is now under investigation for potentially mishandling classified documents and was raided by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on August 22.

WaPo Leans on Monkeypox Satanist to Attack Trump, RFK Jr. Over CDC Refoms.

PULSE POINTS

âť“WHAT HAPPENED: The Washington Post tapped former President Joe Biden’s Satanist monkeypox coordinator, Demetre Daskalakis, to attack President Donald J. Trump and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for their reforms to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), including the removal of Susan Monarez as director. President Trump has tapped Jim O’Neill, the Deputy Secretary of HHS, to serve as acting director.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: President Trump, RFK Jr., Demetre Daskalakis, Jim O’Neill, and Susan Monarez.

📍WHEN & WHERE: O’Neill’s appointment was announced on Thursday, August 28, 2025.

🎯IMPACT: Daskalakis has resigned from the CDC, where he led on respiratory illness and immunization, over the removal of Monarez and the elevation of O’Neill. A close ally of RFK Jr., O’Neill’s appointment could significantly impact U.S. vaccine policies.

IN FULL

Demetre Daskalakis, the occult-obsessed U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) official who served as former President Joe Biden’s monkeypox coordinator, has resigned over the removal of Susan Monarez as CDC director and the elevation of Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s deputy, Jim O’Neill, in her place. The Washington Post tapped the controversial health official, who attended the Biomedical HIV Prevention Summit in BDSM gear in 2023, to attack the CDC reforms Kennedy Jr. has spearheaded for President Donald J. Trump. He focused in particular on the changes Kennedy Jr. has made to the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP).

Daskalakis alleged that Kennedy created an “unfettered situation where undue influence and ideology would drive the science.” He told the WaPo, “Our science is going to be compromised and… I can’t really guarantee its quality or its veracity because of the way that the ACIP is being refashioned,” further accusing Kennedy of inflicting “death by a thousand cuts” on the CDC.

Many conservatives will be surprised that Daskalakis was still employed under the Trump administration until now, given his prominent role promoting woke Pride events under Biden—with the backing of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)—and disturbing personal life. Daskalakis’s body is decorated with Satanic pentagram tattoos, and he has posted Satanic images on social media, including one showing a Christian crucifix inside a Pentagram, surrounded by candles, in an occult or mock occult ritual. A “goth” gym he opened with his “husband,” Michael MacNeal, also leans heavily into Satanic imagery on social media, posting messages such as “We’ll Steal Your Soul.”

Meanwhile, President Trump has tapped Jim O’Neill, the Deputy Secretary of HHS, to serve as the acting CDC director in Monarez’s place. O’Neill, who will also continue as HHS Deputy Secretary, is a known critic of the CDC’s actions during the COVID-19 pandemic. Notably, Moranez is reported to have clashed with Secretary Kennedy Jr. over vaccine policy.

Despite her removal by the White House, Monarez has claimed that she has neither resigned nor been fired, arguing that President Trump must personally remove her, not the personnel office.

Zohran Mamdani Trails Andrew Cuomo Head to Head in NYC.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: A poll conducted by Tulchin Research suggests Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani would lose to former state governor Andrew Cuomo in a head-to-head contest for New York City Mayor—although he could win in a multi-candidate race.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Zohran Mamdani, Andrew Cuomo, Curtis Sliwa, incumbent Mayor Eric Adams, and Jim Walden.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Polling conducted from August 7 to 14, 2025, in New York City.

đź’¬KEY QUOTE: “That poll is right.” – Andrew Cuomo

🎯IMPACT: The poll raises questions about Mamdani’s ability to secure victory in a two-person race if voters who oppose him rally to Cuomo.

IN FULL

A new poll from Tulchin Research, conducted between August 7 and 14 among 1,000 likely New York City voters, finds Democrat candidate and avowed socialist Zohran Mamdani trailing former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) in a direct contest, 41 percent to Cuomo’s 52 percent. However, when the contest includes Republican Curtis Sliwa and independents Mayor Eric Adams and Jim Walden, Mamdani jumps to 42 percent, with Cuomo falling to 26 percent; Sliwa earns 17 percent, Adams nine percent, and Walden three percent.

Mamdani’s prior statements have generated significant controversy. Posts by the Ugandan immigrant and Muslim extremist critical of the NYPD resurfaced amid heightened attention following a police shooting, highlighting his strong anti-police views. He has also been publicly criticized for bragging about directing taxpayer dollars to illegal immigrants, and for suggesting the abolition of prisons and private property—both of which have intensified concerns about his platform’s radicalism.

The self-described Democratic socialist’s candidacy has drawn national attention, particularly from President Donald J. Trump, who is considering intervening in the race to block Mamdani’s potential victory in November. Trump has floated the possibility of backing either Adams or Cuomo.

Addressing the Tulchin poll, Cuomo offered a succinct response: “That poll is right.”

However, as New York City prepares for its November 4 mayoral election, no major contenders have stepped aside, setting the stage for Mamdani securing the mayoralty due to the fracturing of those opposed to him.
