Swedes Turn Vigilante to Counter Surging Migrant Crime.

Residents of the Swedish “no go zone” of Husby are taking law enforcement into their own hands, forming a “National Guard” of citizens to combat rising criminality and homeless drug addiction after Swedish police all but abandoned the neighborhood.

Husby, a suburb on the outskirts of the Swedish capital Stockholm, hosts a migrant population of around 90 percent, and has seen the police vacate the area due to its skyrocketing criminality. A large number of homeless drug addicts, many of whom are illegal migrants, have moved into the area, and have taken to discarding used needles in the streets and committing burglaries and robberies to fund their addictions.

Local residents who complain to the authorities are ignored, with one local 18-year-old telling the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet:

“We have made several reports to the police, but it feels like we have not been taken seriously, because there has been no change. So we decided to find these addicts and try to have a dialogue with them.”

“We’ve tried to talk to them to get them to stop robbing and stealing, but these people are on different substances and drugs and they haven’t been receptive to dialogue. Many of them have also been armed and once one of them attacked us. Then we fought back,” he added. A local NGO has reported that crime rates have declined since the vigilantes began patrolling the area.

Sweden has been notorious for its inability to integrate its large migrant population. Instead, the government has chosen to ignore or denounce people who highlight the issue, such as professors from Lund University facing prosecution for a study that found that immigrants are “disproportionately overrepresented” in rape cases.

Russia Raising Military Draft to 30.

The Russian parliament has voted in favor of raising the maximum age of conscription from 27 to 30 in an effort to increase the number of men eligible to undertake the country’s compulsory military service. The bill still requires the approval of the parliament’s upper house and President Vladimir Putin.

Men between the ages of 18 and 30 will now be eligible for mandatory service, according to the new law, which could potentially add millions of soldiers to the Kremlin’s forces. The bill also prohibits conscripts from leaving the country once they have been issued a draft notice by the Russian enlistment office. If passed, the bill will come into force on January 1, 2024.

The bill adds that Russian governors will have the authority to establish regional paramilitary units during periods of mobilization and martial law, funded and supplied by the Russian government.

“The wording of the draft law changed because the demographic situation is serious and affects the volume of the mobilisation resource,” stated the head of the parliament’s defense affairs committee, Andrei Kartapolov.

The Russian government’s efforts to increase the number of troops follows soon after Ukraine’s summer counter-offensive seems to have stalled. Putin has already boasted that all of Ukraine’s attempts to breach Russia’s defences “have not been successful for the entire time of the offensive.”

Germany Frustrated by Ukraine’s Failing Counteroffensive.

A confidential report published ($) in the German newspaper Bild has revealed the German army’s frustration with Ukraine as it has hitherto failed to make the great gains it expected through the summer counteroffensive.

Germany has blamed Ukrainian tactics and decisions by officers and troops alike to ignore the methods they were taught during their Western training exercises. The Ukrainian army is splitting its forces into smaller units of ten to thirty soldiers to attack Russian positions, which negates any advantages they may have obtained through the West’s training or weaponry.

“Some of the troop units are divided up in so many small sections that each troop unit does something, but a joint combat leadership is not recognisable,” resulting in an increased risk of friendly fire, the document states.

Around 5,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been trained in Germany but have quickly reverted back to the orders of their officers, the majority of whom have little regard for Western militarist principles such as “fire and move.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin has already taken to bragging that “there is no counteroffensive” as a result of Ukraine’s lack of progress, explaining, “[a]ll attempts by the enemy to break through our defenses… they have not been successful for the entire time of the offensive.”

War Firms Want Live Ukraine Battlefield Data to Train AI.

Military technology firms want to use the “unprecedented opportunity” of the war in Ukraine to collect battlefield data, assisting them in developing AI war systems, as well as the next generation of weapons.

Executives from firms such as Helsing are traveling to Kiev to see the development of their products, with the data analytics company Palantir having opened an office in the Ukrainian capital for the same reason. Some of the weapons being tested include drones that can break through windows and perfectly map out floor plans of buildings.

“Ukraine is the only place in the world where you can get that data at the moment,” says associate professor for War Studies at the University of Southern Denmark, Ingvild Bode.

Ukraine was initially more than willing to allow companies to test new products – including companies that had their products rejected by the Pentagon. The nation’s government, however, has become more restrictive as it recognizes the value of the data, even discussing whether it can start building its own military-tech industry as leverage for access.

“You can’t even imagine how many foreign companies are already using Ukraine as a testing ground for their products… everything that has a software component is in Ukraine right now,” stated Ukraine’s deputy minister for digital transformation, Alex Bornyakov, before adding, “[t]his data certainly is not for sale. It’s only available if you offer some sort of mutually beneficial cooperation.”

The British Secretary of State for Defence, Ben Wallace, recently remarked that the British government has become a “battle lab” for the nation’s military technology and effectiveness.

Spain’s Complex Elections: Neo-Cons Largest Party But Far-Left Claims Win.

There has been no clear winner in the Spanish general election, with the neo-conservative People’s Party (PP) and the Spanish Socialist Workers Party (PSOE) – currently in office – both failing to achieve an outright majority.

The PP won 136 seats, 14 more than the PSOE, which won 122, but a party or coalition must attain a majority of 176 in the 350-seat Spanish parliament in order to govern. If a coalition cannot be formed, the previous government can actually continue for the next four years, even without a mandate. The parties will now endure months of negotiations with smaller partners.

The right-wing populist VOX Party obtained just 33 seats, which still makes it the third-largest party in the country. A coalition between PP and VOX would fail to obtain an outright majority, despite initially being considered likely. Leader of Vox, Santiago Abascsal, argued after the results were announced:

“I’d like to point out something that’s bad news for many Spaniards: despite losing the election, Pedro Sánchez [leader of PSOE and the current Prime Minister of Spain] can block the formation of a new government. Worse still, Pedro Sánchez could even be invested as prime minister with the help of communists, [Catalan] independence supporters and terrorists.”

The extreme left-wing party Sumar – led by the lifelong communist Yolanda Diaz – came fourth with 31 seats but, once again, would be unable to offer PSOE a majority in the parliament. Two regional Catalan and Basque separatist parties collected 13 seats between them and have already supported the current government, giving rise to a potential alliance.

Communist Diaz suggested the left won after the results were publicized on Sunday night: “We’ve won. Today we have a better country. From tomorrow, we have to keep winning rights and we are committed to doing that – more rights for women, for LGBTI people and for workers.”

China Pushes IVF to Combat ‘Baby Bust’.

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is pushing its citizens to start using in vitro fertilization (IVF) in an effort to boost the number of births and reverse the ramifications of its decades-long one-child policy.

Chinese state agencies and private companies have been donating millions to develop the national assisted reproductive technology (ART) sector, ensuring IVF and other reproductive treatments are more widely available. Beijing’s local council even announced last month that it is funding reproductive treatment costs, which tend to range from £2,500 to £4,000, from July ongoing. The CCP is also considering whether to allow single women access to IVF and child support.

China, as a result, has built 540 fertility clinics and 27 sperm banks, providing over one million “cycles of assisted reproduction” per year, compared to the United States’ 370,000. The United Kingdom is lower still with just 70,000. Yet, China aims to build up to 600 clinics by the end of the decade and encourage a mass baby boom.

Head of the CCP’s Population Monitoring and Family Development department, Yang Wenzhuang, argues that the Chinese are firmly grasp[ing] the important window period of population development.”

“Local governments should be encouraged to actively explore and make bold innovations in reducing the cost of childbirth, childcare and education” to promote the long-term balanced development of the population,” he adds.

China experienced its first population drop in six decades last year, with the number of newborns expected to fall further in 2023. The current number of births per 1,000 people in China is just 6.77, whereas the death rate is 7.37 per 1,000. The current birth rate in the United States is 12.023 per 1,000 people.

Belgium – The Size of Maryland – Might Break Up Over Immigration.

Mass migration is accelerating the nation of Belgium’s break up, with populist independence parties for the Dutch-speaking north ready to separate from the French-speaking south. The country is approximately the same size as the state of Maryland, with a population the size of Ohio.

Home to the European Union’s de facto capital of Brussels – a French-speaking island in the Dutch-speaking Flanders region – as well as NATO’s headquarters, Belgium is currently experiencing an immigration surge on par with the migrant crisis of 2015-16.

Problems with migrant integration have long been apparent in Belgian society, with riots in France over a police shooting recently spreading to Brussels for no other reason than the fact they involved a migration-background youth. Raheem Kassam, editor-in-chief of The National Pulse, was covering the formation of no-go zones in Belgium as long ago as 2017.

The country’s Dutch-speaking Flemish have had enough, with the so-called “far-right” Vlaams Belang (Flemish Interest) party poised to become to biggest in the country in next June’s elections.

“We believe Belgium is a forced marriage,” says Vlaams Belang leader Tom Van Grieken.

“[W]e have to come to an orderly division. If they don’t want to come to the table with us, we’ll do it unilaterally,” he warns.

Historically, Belgian politics has been dominated by French-speaking Wallonia, but it has lost its grip on power in recent years. The Belgian government, currently comprised of a seven-party coalition, is highly dysfunctional, and the country has gone as long as 652 days with no one in charge due to politicians with highly divergent beliefs being unable to reach compromises following national elections.

Zelensky Fires Top Diplomat Who Criticized His Sarcastic Ingratitude.

President Volodymyr Zelensky’s Ambassador to the Court of St. James – Vadym Prystaiko – has been fired by the Ukrainian president for admitting Zelensky should not have responded with “unhealthy sarcasm” when asked to show more gratitude by Western leaders.

Speaking at the recent NATO summit in Lithuania, Britain’s Defence Secretary Ben Wallace said “people want to see a bit of gratitude” from the Ukrainian government. He complained of making an eleven-hour journey to Ukraine only to be presented with a list of more demands for money and materiel, and having to push back: “I’m not Amazon.”

“How else can we show our gratitude? We can wake up in the morning and thank the minister,” Zelensky publicly mocked, in response to Wallace. “Let him write to me and tell me how to thank him.”

Zelensky’s own Ambassador pushed back against the entitled and petulant behavior of the man who has been accused of intervening in military decisions to the detriment of his country’s war effort.

“I don’t believe this sarcasm is healthy,” Prystaiko said. “I don’t think we need to show the Russians there is something between us. We’re working together, Ben [Wallace] can call me and tell me anything he wants to.”

MORE WAR? Biden Deploys Amphibious Assault Ships, Marines to Middle East.

U.S. President Joe Biden is deploying more warships and an expeditionary force of U.S. Marines to the Middle East ahead of a potential showdown with Iran, with part of the BATAAN Amphibious Readiness Group/Marine Expeditionary Unit (ARG/MEU) including the USS Bataan and the USS Carter Hall joining the mission.

The Bataan, described by the U.S. Navy as its “finest amphibious assault ship,” is designed to “enable the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps team to accomplish a seamless transition from the sea to a land battle.” The Carter Hall, similarly, is designed to “transport Marine personnel, landing craft, vehicles, and cargo [and] land them ashore using landing craft and helicopters in support of military and humanitarian assistance operations”.

They join the USS Thomas Hudner guided missile destroyer and a force of F-35 and F15 warplanes, the deployment of which was announced a few days prior.

The Department of Defense (DOD) and U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) say the force’s purpose is to deter Iranian interceptions of tankers and other ships in and around their territorial waters in the Persian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz, and Gulf of Oman.

“These additional forces provide unique capabilities [to] further safeguard the free flow of international commerce and uphold the rules-based international order, and deter Iranian destabilizing activities in the region,” said Central Command (CENTCOM) chief General Michael Kurilla.

China Just Humiliated John Kerry Over Biden’s Climate Change Demands.

Biden’s climate czar John Kerry has been humiliatingly rebuffed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) after traveling to Beijing with the hopes of cajoling China to start reducing its carbon emissions much like the United States and Europe.

Instead, Kerry’s demands fell on deaf ears, with the Chinese refusing to take any action they believe is not in the nation’s best interests. Chinese President Xi Jinping announced shortly after the negotiations that China alone will decide how it addresses CO2 emissions:

“The pathway and means for reaching this goal, and the tempo and intensity, should be and must be determined by ourselves, and never under the sway of others.”

– Xi Jinping

Kerry has now even admitted the United States impotence over the issue:

“We’ve had very frank conversations but we came here to break new ground… it is clear that we are going to need a little more work.”

– John Kerry

The news comes shortly after Treasury Secretary prostrated before her Chinese counterpart, before news broke that she had ingested hallucinogenic mushrooms during her trip.
