Did the NBA/NCAA Attack on North Carolina Just Backfire?

A new Civitas poll shows an astonishing turnaround for the courageous North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory — a 9-point swing now putting him up two points after being down seven in the last poll.

As the sports-entertainment complex seeks to shame good, loving people in North Carolina who object to permitting transgender biological males to freely invade the privacy of girls in public school showers by dubbing them haters and bigots unworthy of being treated like any other American state, it looks like the overkill may be provoking a swing in McCrory’s favor.

Or it could be the work of people like Franklin Graham who call on pastors in North Carolina to stand up for the stand-up governor who is facing an avalanche of big donor money and attacks for simple, common sense values:

North Carolina-based evangelist Franklin Graham said Thursday he’s ‘outraged’ at the ACC’s decision to pull games from North Carolina because of House Bill 2. And he called on pastors to join him in speaking out.

In a strongly-worded letter to Atlantic Coast Conference commissioner John D. Swofford, a copy of which was sent to the presidents of its 15 member schools, Graham called on him not to make ‘political pawns of student-athletes.’

He also told Swofford that the ACC, NCAA and other companies and organizations now boycotting North Carolina because of the controversial law are guilty of ‘profound hypocrisy’ for ‘making calculated business decisions disguised as moral outrage.’

Dr. Pepper, the chief sponsor of ACC football, makes money selling its soda in countries where homosexuality is illegal, Graham pointed out.

Buckle your seat belts. The ride isn’t over yet for North Carolina champions of traditional believers.
