Harriet Tubman is a real American hero — a gun-toting, give-me-liberty-or-give-me-death, pro-life Christian.
Honoring Harriet Tubman on our money? That’s a great idea.
Letting males with transgender identities shower naked in front of little girls in women’s locker rooms or public high schools?
This is a really, really bad idea, as Ted Cruz keeps pointing out.
But Donald Trump gets it exactly backwards: he says no to Harriet Tubman as “political correctness” and yes to using government power to force open women’s private spaces to biological males.
How could Donald Trump get it so wrong? And considering his suggestions he will gut the pro-life language in the Republican Party platform, I am wondering how Dr. Ben Carson, Phyllis Schlafly, Jerry Falwell, Jr., and other prominent social conservatives are feeling about their champion now?
This is what happens when you pick a demagogue over a courageous and principled conservative.
The Republic may be paying for this choice for some time to come.
