Culture of Death: Britain Hits 300,000 Annual Abortions.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Abortion numbers reached a record high in 2023, with an estimated 299,614 abortions taking place across Britain.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: The Department of Health and Social Care, Right To Life UK, and British abortionists.

📍WHEN & WHERE: 2023, United Kingdom.

💬KEY QUOTE: “It is a national tragedy and a national scandal that so many lives were lost to abortion in England and Wales in 2023.” – Catherine Robinson

🎯IMPACT: The figures have prompted calls for a national conversation about abortion laws, and renewed pressure for the British government to release the figures for more recent years, which they have been delaying.

IN FULL

Britain recorded its highest number of abortions in 2023, with an estimated 299,614 procedures carried out across the country, according to official figures. Data released by the Department of Health and Social Care show that 278,740 abortions took place in England and Wales, an increase of 10.56 percent compared with the previous year. Scotland reported 18,242 abortions, while Northern Ireland recorded an estimated 2,632, bringing the total to a new national high.

The increase came during the third consecutive year in which at-home abortion services have been widely available in England and Wales. These services, introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic, allow women to receive abortion pills following a remote consultation, rather than attending a clinic in person. Supporters argue the model improves access to care, while critics say it reduces medical oversight and safeguards, and allows people to acquire abortifacients without the consent of the expectant mother.

Right To Life UK has responded to the figures by calling for a nationwide discussion on abortion law and policy. The group has emphasized the need for stronger protections for unborn children alongside expanded practical and financial support for women facing unplanned pregnancies. Polling cited by the organization suggests that a majority of women support changes to current abortion regulations, including the reinstatement of mandatory in-person consultations.

Catherine Robinson, a spokeswoman for Right To Life UK, said, “It is a national tragedy and a national scandal that so many lives were lost to abortion in England and Wales in 2023.” Pro-life organizations stress that figures for more recent years are unavailable because the British government is delaying their release, suspecting they show abortions have increased even more since 2023.

The British debate is unfolding amid wider international controversy over abortion. In Canada, undercover footage released has reignited criticism from pro-life groups by showing how easily late-term abortions can be accessed. The United States appears to be the only Anglo-Sphere country countering the growing abortion trend. President Donald J. Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill, introduced last year, has led to the closure of several abortion-providing clinics by restricting public funding.

Newsom Denies Request to Extradite CA Doctor for Providing Mail-Order Abortions.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) denied a request from Louisiana to extradite a doctor accused of mailing abortion pills to a Louisiana woman.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Governor Newsom, Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry (R), Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill (R), and San Francisco-based physician Remy Coeytaux.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The extradition request was denied on Wednesday, January 14, 2026.

💬KEY QUOTE: “I know Gavin Newsom supports abortion in all its forms, but that doesn’t work in Louisiana. We are unapologetically pro-life.” – Gov. Jeff Landry

🎯IMPACT: The case highlights the ongoing legal and political battles surrounding abortion laws between states with differing policies post-Roe v. Wade.

IN FULL

California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) has rejected Louisiana’s request to extradite a San Francisco Bay Area physician accused of sending abortion pills to a woman in Louisiana, intensifying the ongoing clash between states over abortion enforcement after the overturning of Roe v. Wade. The decision was announced on January 14 in a statement posted to Newsom’s official press office X (formerly Twitter) account. “Louisiana’s request is denied,” Newsom said, adding, “We will not allow extremist politicians from other states to reach into California and try to punish doctors based on allegations that they provided reproductive health care services. Not today. Not ever.”

Louisiana authorities are seeking to prosecute Dr. Remy Coeytaux for allegedly mailing mifepristone and misoprostol to a Louisiana woman through Aid Access, a Europe-based telemedicine service. Attorney General Liz Murrill (R-LA) announced the charges earlier this month, saying Coeytaux could face years in prison if convicted under the state’s abortion laws. Louisiana enacted a near-total abortion ban after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022 and has since adopted additional measures targeting abortion-inducing drugs and out-of-state prescribers.

Gov. Jeff Landry (R-LA) criticized Newsom’s refusal to extradite Coeytaux, saying the California governor was disregarding Louisiana law. “I know Gavin Newsom supports abortion in all its forms, but that doesn’t work in Louisiana. We are unapologetically pro-life,” Landry said.

Physicians convicted of providing abortions in Louisiana can face up to 15 years in prison and fines of up to $200,000. The Coeytaux case marks the second time Louisiana has attempted to pursue criminal charges against a doctor located outside the state for alleged abortion-related violations.

The dispute comes as abortion-related criminal cases continue to emerge nationwide. In Kentucky, a woman was recently charged with fetal homicide after allegedly taking abortion pills obtained online. Authorities said the woman also faces additional charges related to the handling of her baby’s remains.

In Texas, law enforcement arrested eight individuals accused of operating an illegal abortion network, with officials saying several of those charged are foreign nationals. The arrests were tied to allegations of providing abortions and practicing medicine without proper licenses, violations that carry significant penalties under Texas law.

DOJ Reverses Biden-Era Rule, Halts Veterans Affairs Abortion Funding.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: The Department of Justice (DOJ) issued an opinion reversing a Biden-era rule that allowed the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to provide taxpayer-funded abortions, citing federal restrictions.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: DOJ Office of Legal Counsel, the VA, and the former Biden government.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The opinion was published on Monday, affecting VA medical centers across the U.S.

💬KEY QUOTE: “The DOJ’s opinion states that VA is not legally authorized to provide abortions, and VA is complying with it immediately.” – Veterans Affairs Press Secretary Peter Kasperowicz.

🎯IMPACT: The VA has ceased aborting babies under the Biden-era rule, complying with the DOJ’s interpretation of federal law.

IN FULL

A U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) ruling issued on Monday has overturned a former Biden regime policy that allowed the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to provide taxpayer-funded abortions. The DOJ opinion concludes that federal law generally prohibits the VA from aborting babies.

Issued by the DOJ’s Office of Legal Counsel, the opinion found that a 2022 rule adopted after the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision conflicted with the Veterans Health Care Act. That rule had permitted the VA to provide abortions in certain circumstances.

Josh Craddock, Deputy Assistant Attorney General for the OLC, said the VA secretary’s authority over medical care has clear limits. “That discretion is not limitless,” Craddock wrote, adding that the Veterans Health Care Act “makes clear” abortion services may only be provided in specific situations, such as life-threatening emergencies or as part of treatment for ectopic pregnancies and miscarriages.

Veterans Affairs Press Secretary Peter Kasperowicz confirmed the department has already stopped providing abortions under the Biden-era rule. “The DOJ’s opinion states that VA is not legally authorized to provide abortions, and VA is complying with it immediately,” he said.

The VA operates a nationwide network of medical facilities, serving approximately nine million veterans and beneficiaries. Under the 2022 policy, the department provided about 140 abortions per year, a figure significantly lower than the approximately 1,000 annual procedures the administration initially projected following the rollback of Roe v. Wade and the implementation of state-level abortion restrictions.

Notably, the decision comes amid broader disputes over federal abortion funding. In recent months, Planned Parenthood has sued the Trump administration over provisions in the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” that restrict Medicaid reimbursements to organizations that abort babies.

Supporters of the legislation argue it enforces long-standing limits on taxpayer-funded abortion. Courts have also weighed in on abortion funding, with some judges temporarily blocking restrictions and others ruling that the federal government must continue certain payments.

Obama Judge Rules Trump Has to Fund Abortionists.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: A federal judge blocked the Trump administration from cutting Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Planned Parenthood, and Democrat-led states.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The ruling was issued on Tuesday, with implications across the United States.

💬KEY QUOTE: “The Democrats and their radical activist judges are desperately seeking to thwart the will of the people and bail out the Big Abortion industry, led by Planned Parenthood.” – Marjorie Dannenfelser, President of SBA Pro-Life America

🎯IMPACT: The decision keeps Medicaid public funds flowing to Planned Parenthood, sparking criticism from pro-life advocates.

IN FULL

A federal judge appointed by former Democrat President Barack Obama has blocked the Trump administration from withholding Medicaid funding from Planned Parenthood. U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani determined that the Department of Health and Human Services did not give adequate notice, as required by the Spending Clause of the U.S. Constitution, to several Democratic-led states.

The decision halts a Republican-supported measure in the One Big, Beautiful Bill Act that would have temporarily stripped Medicaid dollars from organizations that perform or promote abortions for one year. Talwani ruled in favor of California and other blue states that challenged the cut.

Pro-life leaders condemned the ruling. Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of SBA Pro-Life America, said: “The Democrats and their radical activist judges are desperately seeking to thwart the will of the people and bail out the Big Abortion industry, led by Planned Parenthood. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act is federal law passed by Congress and signed by the President.” She continued: “This fight is not over. The pro-life movement will work tirelessly to ensure the Democrats do not prevail and taxpayers are never forced to pay a dime to prop up Big Abortion businesses.”

Judge Talwani, who has a history of supporting abortionists and Democratic causes, has contributed $1,725 to Democratic candidates and party organizations, including former John Kerry, Elizabeth Warren, and former President Obama. She also volunteered on Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign and Warren’s 2012 Senate campaign.

Talwani has issued prior rulings against Trump policies, among them decisions involving Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for migrants and a 2019 order related to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrests at Massachusetts courthouses.

WATCH: Undercover Footage Shows How Easy It Is to Get a Late-Term Abortion.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Pro-life activists in Toronto, Canada, revealed how easy it is to procure a late-term abortion, with doctors claiming 22-week-old babies in the womb are not considered alive—despite the fact that some babies born that early have survived.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Pro-life group RightNow, Cabbagetown Women’s Clinic, and an unnamed abortionist.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The footage was released on social media by RightNow on November 12.

💬KEY QUOTE: “There are very few clinicians who would consider that life.” – Abortion doctor on premature babies born at 22 weeks in a pregnancy.

🎯IMPACT: The footage pushes back at many who claim that late-term abortions in Canada are rare or require a medical reason for being performed.

IN FULL

Pro-life activists in Toronto, Canada, have revealed how easy it is for women to procure late-term abortions, releasing undercover footage of medical professionals who have no qualms whatsoever about aborting a baby as late as eight months into a pregnancy. The footage, released by the pro-life campaign group RightNow, shows one of its activists, who was 22 weeks pregnant at the time, seeking advice on abortions at the Cabbagetown Women’s Clinic in Toronto.

The activist was told the procedure would cost the equivalent of just over $1,500 USD and that, notably, the clinic only accepted cash. An abortion counsellor named Linda informed her that at 22 weeks, she was at the borderline for an abortion at the Cabbagetown clinic, which performs abortions to 24 weeks, but noted a nearby hospital would perform abortions even later in a pregnancy. “I sent them to Women’s College Hospital, it’s a hospital that’s close by,” Linda states, adding: “They don’t have a limit. They sometimes go up to 32 weeks, I believe.”

Linda describes the late-term abortion procedure as taking up to three days, starting with an injection meant to kill the baby in the womb by stopping its heart, as this supposedly makes the abortion “safer.” Linda also claims the baby has no “consciousness,” claiming that even if there were, the injection is made to “prevent it.”

The activist then speaks to a female abortion doctor, who clarifies to her that there is no limit in Canada for an abortion, which is accurate, as there are no Canadian laws restricting abortion at all. However, there are supposed to be regulations within the healthcare industry.

“The law in Canada and the U.S. overall doesn’t have a ‘too far.’ OK, I can tell you that once things reach 35, 36 weeks, it might be impossible to find someone that would do it. OK, 24, up to 30 weeks, it’s very possible,” the abortionist states.

The doctor goes on to state that children born at 22 weeks may survive, but adds, “There are very few clinicians who would consider that life.” When the pregnant activist asks the doctor about whether she needs health reasons for herself or her baby to procure a late-term abortion, the doctor appears to suggest that this has not been necessary for “abortion care” since the 1960s.

Canadian healthcare professionals are estimated to have performed over 100,000 abortions in 2023, with over 40,000 occurring in Ontario alone.

Canada also has legalized medically assisted suicide, which saw doctors euthanize tens of thousands of people. It has become a leading cause of death in the country, with 4.7 percent of all deaths in 2023 being from medically assisted suicide.

Activists are attempting to expand euthanasia by allowing children and mentally ill people to be killed by doctors as well. Notably, recent reports claim that Canadian doctors are harvesting the organs of those being killed.

Poll Reveals 40% of Young Women Are Considering Leaving America.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: A Gallup survey revealed a record number of young women in the U.S. expressing interest in moving abroad permanently.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Gallup polling firm, young women ages 15 to 44, and young men for comparison.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Survey conducted in 2025; data reflects trends since 2007.

🎯IMPACT: Highlights a growing trend among young women tied to political and cultural shifts in the U.S.

IN FULL

A new Gallup survey reports that roughly one in five Americans say they would like to move permanently to another country. Among women aged 15 to 44, that number climbs dramatically to 40 percent, quadruple the share from 2014, when only about one in ten women in that age group said the same. This surge marks the highest gender divide Gallup has ever recorded on this question, with only 19 percent of men in the same age range expressing a desire to relocate abroad.

Gallup noted that the shift among young women first appeared in 2016, during Barack Obama’s final year as President. The change, the organization suggests, seems to stem more from cultural than purely political motivations, coinciding with years of intense debate over social identity, gender ideology, and abortion.

Those cultural and political divides were also visible in Virginia’s recent gubernatorial race, where Democrat Abigail Spanberger defeated Republican Winsome Earle-Sears. Spanberger captured about 65 percent of the female vote, compared to Earle-Sears’s 35 percent. The Democrat’s campaign emphasized her opponent’s pro-life stance.

A Spanberger spokesman stated, “The Republican nominee in this race has called abortion ‘wicked’ and just this year handwrote a note on Virginia’s proposed constitutional amendment protecting reproductive rights in Virginia, making clear that she is ‘morally opposed.’” The contest reflected how access to abortion continues to shape gendered voting patterns, particularly since the Supreme Court’s 2022 decision overturning Roe v. Wade.

Research has also found that nearly half of liberal women under 30 report having been diagnosed with a mental health condition, an unusually high rate that analysts link to social pressures, political polarization, and economic uncertainty. Notably, an estimated eight in 10 female voters under 30 cast a ballot for socialist Zohran Mamdani, helping fuel his victorious New York City mayoral campaign.

Surveys of Generation Z voters indicate diverging values along both political and gender lines. Young Trump supporters, especially men, are more likely to say they hope to marry and have children, while their counterparts who supported former Vice President Kamala Harris, predominantly women, tend not to want children at all.

Texas Arrests Eight Illegal Abortionists, Half Are Foreign Nationals.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Eight people, including four foreign nationals, were arrested for allegedly collaborating with a Houston-area abortion provider accused of illegal procedures and practicing medicine without a license.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R), Maria Rojas, and the eight arrested suspects.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The arrests were announced on October 8, 2025, following law enforcement operations across the Houston area.

💬KEY QUOTE: “In Texas, life is sacred. I will always do everything in my power to protect the unborn, defend our state’s pro-life laws, and work to ensure that unlicensed individuals endangering the lives of women by performing illegal abortions are fully prosecuted.” — Ken Paxton.

🎯IMPACT: The arrests highlight Texas’s commitment to enforcing its strict abortion laws and ensuring medical practices operate within legal boundaries.

IN FULL

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) announced on Wednesday, October 8, the arrests of eight people accused of operating illegal abortion clinics in the Houston area. The arrests are connected to Maria Margarita Rojas, a 49-year-old midwife previously indicted on 15 felony counts, including the unlawful killing of unborn babies and practicing medicine without a license. Rojas allegedly operated unlicensed clinics in northwest Houston, where prosecutors say she and others performed illegal medical procedures, including abortions.

The suspects arrested this week were allegedly working under Rojas, providing unauthorized medical services without proper licensing. Those named by Paxton’s office include Yaimara Hernandez Alvarez, Alina Valeron Leon, Dalia Coromoto Yanez, Yhonder Lebrun Acosta, Liunet Grandales Estrada, Gerardo Otero Aguero, Sabiel Bosch Gongora, and Jose Manuel Cendan Ley. According to a statement from Paxton, these individuals “endangered the very people they pretended to help” by operating outside the law.

“In Texas, life is sacred. I will always do everything in my power to protect the unborn, defend our state’s pro-life laws, and work to ensure that unlicensed individuals endangering the lives of women by performing illegal abortions are fully prosecuted,” Attorney General Paxton said.

These arrests follow the recent closure of a major Planned Parenthood facility in Houston, once one of the largest abortionist clinics in the country. Texas enforces some of the strongest pro-life laws in the United States, banning nearly all abortions except in limited medical emergencies.

Rojas is the first person charged under a new Texas law that heightens penalties for those involved in unlawful abortions.

Hillary: SCOTUS Is Coming for Gay Marriage.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Failed Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton predicted that the U.S. Supreme Court would overturn same-sex marriage and urged homosexual couples to get married while they still can.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Hillary Clinton, the U.S. Supreme Court, and homosexuals.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Clinton shared her prediction during an interview with Jessica Tarlov.

💬KEY QUOTE: “My prediction is they will do to gay marriage what they did to abortion. They will send it back to the states.” – Hillary Clinton

🎯IMPACT: If the Obergefell v. Hodges ruling on same-sex marriage is overturned, state bans on same-sex marriage could be reinstated, similar to the aftermath of Roe v. Wade‘s reversal.

IN FULL

Hillary Clinton has expressed fear that the U.S. Supreme Court could overturn same-sex marriage, encouraging homosexual couples to marry while the opportunity remains. Speaking with Jessica Tarlov in an interview, she raised the high court’s recent decision to overturn the Roe v. Wade decision on abortion.

“It took 50 years to overturn Roe v. Wade,” Clinton noted, adding: “The Supreme Court will hear a case about gay marriage. My prediction is they will do to gay marriage what they did to abortion. They will send it back to the states.”

Should the court reverse the Obergefell v. Hodges ruling on same-sex marriage, the Respect for Marriage Act, signed into law by President Joe Biden in 2022, ensures federal recognition of same-sex marriages and requires states to recognize marriages performed in other states. However, the law does not mandate that states allow same-sex marriages, potentially allowing state bans to return.

Clinton further noted, “Anybody in a committed relationship out there in the LGBTQ community, you ought to consider getting married. ’Cause I don’t think they’ll undo existing marriages, but I fear that they will undo the national right.”

The Supreme Court has not indicated plans to revisit same-sex marriage. Still, some justices, including Clarence Thomas, questioned the Obergefell ruling in a concurring opinion following the Roe reversal, suggesting it merits reconsideration.

Notably, Kim Davis, the former Kentucky clerk who became widely known in 2015 after refusing to issue same-sex marriage licenses due to her Christian faith, has already filed a petition arguing that the First Amendment’s protection of religious freedom should have shielded her from personal liability in denying the licenses.

Costco Won’t Sell Mifepristone Abortion Pill.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Costco announced it will not sell the abortion pill Mifepristone at its pharmacy locations due to a lack of demand.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Costco and Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF).

📍WHEN & WHERE: Decision made public Thursday, August 14, 2025

💬KEY QUOTE: “We applaud Costco for doing the right thing by its shareholders and resisting activist calls to sell abortion drugs.” – Michael Ross, ADF legal counsel.

🎯IMPACT: The decision avoids controversy over selling abortion-related medications.

IN FULL

Costco has decided not to sell the abortion pill Mifepristone at its pharmacy locations, citing a lack of demand from its members and other patients. “They generally have the drug dispensed by their medical providers,” Costco stated in announcing the decision.

The move was welcomed by the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), a religious liberty legal organization that had urged Costco to refrain from selling the drug. Michael Ross, legal counsel for ADF, commented, “We applaud Costco for doing the right thing by its shareholders and resisting activist calls to sell abortion drugs.”

Mifepristone, approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2000, is part of a two-step regimen used to terminate pregnancies up to 10 weeks. Research from the Guttmacher Institute indicates that the drug is used in over half of all abortions in the United States.

Costco’s decision is a break from that of other major national retailers. The National Pulse reported in March of last year that CVS Health had announced it would provide the abortifacient at its pharmacies in Rhode Island and neighboring Massachusetts, with Walgreens rolling out its dispensing services in specific locations in New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, California, and Illinois.

Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill Act’ Is Shuttering Abortionist Clinics.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Five Planned Parenthood facilities in California are being shuttered due to federal budget cuts following the signing of President Donald J. Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: President Donald J. Trump, Planned Parenthood, California Governor Gavin Newsom (D), and California Democrats.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Announced Thursday, impacting clinics in Northern California and the Central Coast, including one in South San Francisco.

💬KEY QUOTE: “This law is clearly a back-door ban on abortion in reproductive freedom states,” complained Planned Parenthood Mar Monte.

🎯IMPACT: The closures show federal Medicaid funding cuts for abortionists are yielding pro-life results.

IN FULL

Five Planned Parenthood facilities in Northern California are being forced to close as a result of President Donald J. Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which prevents federally funded state Medicaid programs from bankrolling abortionists.

According to local media, Planned Parenthood Mar Monte announced Thursday that five clinics across Northern California and the Central Coast, including one in South San Francisco, will be shuttered due to the federal Medicaid funding cuts. These closures follow the passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act signed by Trump earlier this month, which eliminated Medicaid funding for medical care at organizations that abort babies.

“This law is clearly a back-door ban on abortion in reproductive freedom states,” Planned Parenthood Mar Monte complained in a statement released this week.

California, led by Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom and a Democrat-dominated state legislature, had positioned itself as a haven for abortion following the Supreme Court’s 2022 overturn of Roe v. Wade. The state invested over $200 million and passed more than a dozen laws to facilitate abortions, but the federal budget cuts have undercut that pro-abortion policy.

Federal funding had previously flowed to Planned Parenthood despite Hyde Amendment restrictions on using federal taxpayers’ money to abort babies, due to the organization’s insistence that it provided other services. However, Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act has significantly tightened this loophole, dealing a significant blow to Planned Parenthood’s operations.
