Kamala’s Dubious Record as California Prosecutor, Attorney General Under Investigation.

America First Legal (AFL) is launching a sweeping investigation into Kamala Harris‘s actions as a county prosecutor and later Attorney General in California, calling into question a series of dubious decisions made by the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee. According to the conservative legal group, Harris abused her roles as prosecutor and the state’s top law enforcement officer to pursue a radical and partisan agenda and flaunt state ethics rules.

The group raises ethics concerns dating back to Harris‘s tenure as a deputy district attorney for Alameda County, California. While working in the county district attorney‘s office, Harris failed to disclose her romantic relationship with the powerful California Assembly Speaker Willie Brown. Harris reportedly received lucrative appointments to several state boards due to this relationship.

As the District Attorney for San Francisco, Harris refused to pursue the death penalty even for the most violent offenders—including a cop-killer. Her refusal to seek justice earned her rebukes even from powerful Democrats like then-Senators Barbara Boxer and Diane Feinstein.

While Attorney General of California, Harris pushed highly partisan investigations into free market and conservative non-profit groups—in contravention of federal law. These actions were essentially fishing expeditions to expose donors to the non-profits so that leftist groups could target them with public pressure campaigns.

While serving as California‘s top law enforcement official, AFL also notes that Harris defended San Francisco‘s sanctuary city law and refused to enforce federal immigration statutes. Additionally, the California Democrat cleared the way for an inmate serving a life sentence for murder to receive taxpayer-funded transgender surgery.

Concerningly, the California AG’s office under Harris also turned a blind eye to misconduct by local law enforcement and prison officials, in one instance failing to file charges against clear abuses.

Biden’s DOJ Inspector General Investigated Over Political Targeting.

The Office of Inspector General (OIG) at the Department of Justice is facing scrutiny following reports that some of its personnel exhibit political biases against targets of their investigations. America First Legal (AFL) has sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Department of Justice to examine the “existence of politically motivated employees in positions that demand impartiality.”

The OIG’s stated mission is to “detect and deter fraud, waste, abuse, and misconduct by conducting objective, independent, and impactful oversight of the Department, its programs, and the conduct of its personnel.” However, documents reviewed by Fox News Digital suggest that some OIG personnel involved in investigations of Trump administration appointees may have partisan leanings.

The FOIA request cites the OIG’s assertion that “a key facet of the Department’s challenge of strengthening public trust is ensuring that DOJ personnel fulfill their duties without any actual or perceived political influence or partisan consideration.” AFL claims evidence points to the presence of partisan actors within the OIG.

OIG attorney Deborah Falk Zerwitz, who oversees an investigation into state-run nursing home deaths, has donated over $6,000 to Democratic entities since 2007. Zerwitz has also interacted with political content critical of former Attorney General Bill Barr and Trump appointees on social media.

Another OIG lawyer, Jennifer Ramella, investigating the same probe, reportedly made contributions to the Democratic PAC ActBlue totaling over $300. Christina Monta, a former OIG counsel involved in examining Pennsylvania’s 2020 mail-in ballot issues, has also donated to Democratic campaigns.

America First Legal emphasized the importance of impartiality within the Department of Justice, especially approaching a Presidential election. AFL executive director Gene Hamilton said in a statement that “if the ‘watchdog’ is a mere partisan bulldog, it does not deserve to exist.”

Biden’s Partisan DHS Panel Shuttered After Lawsuit.

Following a lawsuit from conservative legal nonprofit America First Legal (AFL), the Biden government has agreed to disband the Homeland Intelligence Experts Group. The group, formed by Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, consisted of individuals from the private sector designated to give insights on the government’s intelligence and national security endeavors.

Critics contended that the board was more partisan than neutral, expressing concerns over the involvement of figures such as James Clapper, former Director of National Intelligence, and John Brennan, former CIA Director. Both had previously signed a letter questioning the truth behind the Hunter Biden laptop story.

“As a result of our lawsuit in federal court, DHS is surrendering in total to our demands: they are closing down their new partisan intelligence board featuring Clapper and Brennan — which would have been used to promote censored, unethical spying, and gross civil rights invasions of political enemies — and they are surrendering their documents, handing them over to our possession. We won. We beat Biden and DHS,” said AFL President Stephen Miller.

America First Legal, which also represented former acting Director of National Intelligence Ric Grennell in the lawsuit, found that among the political donations made by those appointed to the group, a mere one percent went to Republicans, while 98 percent favored Democrats. Filed in November, the lawsuit accused the group of violating the Federal Advisory Committee Act, citing an alleged bias, a lack of public transparency, and undue influence by the Biden regime.

Although DHS denied any violation, it has agreed to dissolve the group. As per the agreement, the Homeland Intelligence Experts Group will be wound down within 30 days, with no future meetings scheduled and no reconstitution of the group inconsistent with federal law.
