Dem Rep. Crockett Dismisses Woman Murdered by Illegal as ‘Random Dead Person.’

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) dismissed Kayla Hamilton, a young woman murdered by an MS-13 illegal immigrant, as a “random dead person” during a House Judiciary Committee markup on a bill named in Hamilton’s honor.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, Congressman Russell Fry (R-SC), Kayla Hamilton, and her family.

📍WHEN & WHERE: During a House Judiciary Committee markup session.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Stop just throwing a random dead person’s name on something for your own political expediency.” – Jasmine Crockett

🎯IMPACT: Crockett’s comments sparked backlash, with Congressman Fry calling them “disgusting rhetoric” and demanding an apology to Kayla Hamilton’s family.

IN FULL

During a House Judiciary Committee markup session, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) dismissed Kayla Hamilton, a young woman murdered by an MS-13 illegal immigrant, as a “random dead person.” The comments came in response to a bill, the Kayla Hamilton Act, named in honor of the victim.

Kayla Hamilton, 20, was sexually assaulted and strangled to death by Walter Javier Martinez, a 17-year-old migrant who entered the U.S. under Unaccompanied Alien Child (UAC) status. Martinez was sentenced to 70 years in prison earlier this year.

Crockett criticized the naming of legislation after victims, complaining, “Stop just throwing a random dead person’s name on something for your own political expediency.” She further accused Republicans of exploiting killings by migrants for political purposes, claiming, “Y’all find one terrible situation that took place, and then you say that person’s name, and you wear it out, and you make it political.”

Congressman Russell Fry (R-SC), the sponsor of the Kayla Hamilton Act, condemned Crockett’s remarks, stating, “To dismiss her life so callously is not only disgusting rhetoric, it’s shameful behavior. Let me be clear: Kayla Hamilton was not just a random person. She was a young woman with a family and a future.” Fry called for a public apology from Crockett to Kayla’s family and other Americans affected by crimes committed by illegal immigrants.

The Kayla Hamilton Act would require the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to assess whether unaccompanied alien children pose a danger to themselves or their communities before being released. Kayla’s mother, Tammy Nobles, expressed support for the legislation, stating, “If that had happened in the case of Kayla’s murderer, authorities would have known he was an MS-13 gang member.”

ICE Has Initiated ‘Operation Midway Blitz’ Against Illegals in This Sanctuary City:

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has launched ‘Operation Midway Blitz’ in Chicago to detain illegal immigrants with criminal histories.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: The Trump administration, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker (D), and ICE.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Announced on Monday, September 8, 2025, targeting Chicago, Illinois.

💬KEY QUOTE: “This ICE operation will target the criminal illegal aliens who flocked to Chicago and Illinois because they knew Governor Pritzker and his sanctuary policies would protect them and allow them to roam free on American streets.” – DHS

🎯IMPACT: Over 1,000 arrests have been made in Chicago this year, with the operation focusing on reducing crime and enforcing immigration laws.

IN FULL

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has initiated ‘Operation Midway Blitz’ in Chicago, Illinois, as part of President Donald J. Trump’s efforts to remove millions of illegal immigrants who entered the United States under former President Joe Biden. The operation aims to detain illegal immigrants with criminal records, targeting those who have been protected under Illinois’ sanctuary policies.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the operation on Monday morning, stating that it would focus on individuals who have taken advantage of the state’s policies to evade federal immigration laws. DHS specifically criticized Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker (D) for shielding “criminal illegal aliens” and allowing them to remain on American streets.

“This ICE operation will target the criminal illegal aliens who flocked to Chicago and Illinois because they knew Governor Pritzker and his sanctuary policies would protect them and allow them to roam free on American streets,” DHS stated on X (formerly Twitter). The operation was launched from a naval base on Lake Michigan several miles north of Chicago. The effort comes in the wake of the tragic death of Katie Abraham, who was killed in a drunk driving hit-and-run by a Guatemalan illegal immigrant.

“DHS is launching Operation Midway Blitz in honor of Katie Abraham, who was killed in Illinois by a criminal illegal alien who should have never been in our country. This operation will target the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens in Chicago,” DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement. She added: “For years, Governor Pritzker and his fellow sanctuary politicians released Tren de Aragua gang members, rapists, kidnappers, and drug traffickers on Chicago’s streets—putting American lives at risk and making Chicago a magnet for criminals. President Trump and Secretary Noem have a clear message: no city is a safe haven for criminal illegal aliens.”

ICE has reported over 1,000 arrests in Chicago so far this year. The city is home to an estimated 150,000 illegal immigrants, representing about eight percent of households. Gov. Pritzker has vowed to challenge the federal government’s actions in court, while President Trump has hinted at deploying National Guard troops to support ICE agents and address crime in the city.

Trump Moves to Deport Hundreds of Korean Illegal Workers.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Trump administration officials will deport 300 South Korean migrants who were working illegally at a taxpayer-funded construction site in Georgia.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), South Korean workers, Hyundai Motor Group, LG Energy Solution Ltd., and Border Czar Tom Homan.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The arrests occurred at a construction site in Ellabell, Georgia, where a factory funded by over $1 billion in government aid is being built.

💬KEY QUOTE: “These companies that hire illegal aliens, they undercut the competition of paying U.S. citizen salaries,” said Tom Homan.

🎯IMPACT: The deportations are expected to delay Hyundai’s construction project and highlight the ongoing issue of illegal labor undercutting American wages.

IN FULL

The Trump administration will move to deport an estimated 300 South Korean illegal immigrants found to be working illegally at a Hyundai Motor Group and LG Energy Solution Ltd. factory construction site in Ellabell, Georgia. The arrests, which took place on Thursday, saw over 500 people detained, including 23 Mexicans in addition to the South Koreans. According to the Trump administration, those detained at the facility—which received $1 billion in U.S. taxpayer funding—either lacked proper immigrant work visas, had expired work visas, or were working despite only holding non-work visas.

The Hyundai immigration raid and arrests sparked a diplomatic row with South Korea’s government, and pushback from pro-illegal immigrant labor advocates like the CATO Institute, who argue it is economically desirable to replace American workers with cheap foreign labor. Trump White House Border Czar Tom Homan emphasized the economic impact of such hiring practices, stating, “These companies that hire illegal aliens, they undercut the competition of paying U.S. citizen salaries.”

Homan also shared his personal experience, saying, “I had to call five different companies before I had a company that guaranteed me a legal workforce. I talked to one company, just a father and son, who laid off 20 citizen employees because they couldn’t afford—they couldn’t win a bid, because the competition were bidding a lot less for a job because they were paying their employees a lot less to work because they’re illegally in the United States.”

The South Korean workers reportedly entered the U.S. using B-1/B-2 tourist/business visas or Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) waivers. Hyundai, a repeat violator of labor rules, is expected to face delays and increased costs as it replaces the deported workers with American labor. The arrests are part of broader efforts by the Trump administration to enforce immigration laws and prioritize high-skill, high-productivity sectors in the U.S. economy.

Hyundai has faced scrutiny before for labor violations, including the use of child labor in Alabama factories. Corporate executives often shield themselves from accountability by outsourcing hiring to third-party staffing agencies. Despite pushback from pro-illegal immigrant labor advocates, the Trump administration has emphasized the importance of enforcing laws to protect American workers and wages.

This European Country Has Adopted a Law to Lock Up Rejected Asylum Seekers Who Don’t Leave.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Legislators in Greece have passed a law imposing strict penalties on migrants who remain in the country after their asylum applications are denied.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Migration Minister Thanos Plevris, Greek lawmakers, and migrants.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The law was passed on Wednesday in Greece, following a summer of increased migrant arrivals on the island of Crete.

💬KEY QUOTE: “All European countries now understand that it is not possible to have open borders, it’s not possible to welcome illegal migrants with flowers.” – Thanos Plevris

🎯IMPACT: Migrants face up to five years in prison, increased fines, and stricter monitoring.

IN FULL

The Greek Parliament has passed a law imposing tough penalties on migrants who remain in the country after their asylum claims are rejected. Under the new rules, rejected applicants who fail to leave within 14 days of their applications being denied face up to five years in prison and fines equivalent to over $30,000. The Greek government will also begin using electronic ankle monitors to track individuals awaiting deportation.

The legislation is part of a wider campaign by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’s administration to crack down on illegal immigration. In July, Greece suspended asylum applications for three months following a sharp rise in arrivals, with more than 2,600 migrants landing on Crete in the first week alone. Mitsotakis defended the move, saying it was necessary to send a clear signal to human traffickers that “the passage to Greece is closed.”

Migration Minister Thanos Plevris strongly backed the new law, explaining, “There are those who are downtrodden, and then there are some who are spoiled, who think that Europe owes them.”

“We need to put emphasis on the voluntary returns, but there will be consequences for those who do not choose to return to their countries,” he added.

Another significant change under the new law is the elimination of a longstanding provision that allowed illegal immigrants to apply for legal status after seven years of continuous residence in Greece. Authorities say the goal is to prevent abuse of the system and reduce incentives for illegal entry.

Early signs suggest the measures are already having an impact. By late August, migrant arrivals on Crete had dropped to around 500, down from over 2,600 in early July. Crete has become a key smuggler route as other European Union (EU) governments implement stricter border controls.

“All European countries now understand that it is not possible to have open borders, it’s not possible to welcome illegal migrants with flowers,” Plevris said. “There should be a clear message that countries have borders, (that) Europe has exceeded its capabilities and will not accept any more illegal migrants.”

Greece previously warned that ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, particularly in Gaza, could lead to a new surge in migration toward Europe.

Newsom’s California Serving 10,000 Illegals in State University System.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: The chairman of the California State Student Association (CSSA) revealed that the California State University (CSU) system serves 10,000 illegal alien students.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: CSSA Chair Aaron Villarreal and representatives from the 23 CSU campuses.

📍WHEN & WHERE: California, announcement made earlier this week.

💬KEY QUOTE: “The CSU is proud to serve nearly 10,000 undocumented [sic] students. The highest number at any university system in the country.” – Aaron Villarreal

🎯IMPACT: Villarreal’s boast raises questions about the use of taxpayer dollars and compliance with immigration laws within the CSU system.

IN FULL

Two out of every 100 students in the California State University (CSU) system are illegal immigrants, according to the California State Student Association (CSSA). The revelation, made on Wednesday, comes as students and administrators are vowing to resist the Trump White House’s immigration enforcement actions and efforts to prevent taxpayer dollars from funding tuition for illegal immigrants instead of American citizens.

“The CSU is proud to serve nearly 10,000 undocumented [sic] students. The highest number at any university system in the country, ” CSSA chairman Aaron Villarreal stated. “These students are our classmates, our colleagues, and our friends. They contribute in our classrooms, lead in our student government, and give back to our communities.”

“Yet they carry the extra burden that most of us never have to think about. The constant fear that immigration enforcement could interrupt their lives, their families’ lives, and their education,” Villarreal added.

The CSSA serves as a representative body for the 461,612 students across the CSU system’s 23 campuses in California. According to Villarreal, the student organization is pushing university administrations to enact policies ensuring affordable tuition, housing, and expanded access to financial aid—and that illegal immigrants must be provided the same access to these resources as U.S. citizens.

California State University campuses admit students regardless of their immigration status, sparking criticism that the Golden State is prioritizing non-citizens over Americans. Notably, California’s large illegal immigrant population has already placed severe strains on other state resources.

The National Pulse reported in March that Governor Gavin Newsom (D) was forced to seek a multi-billion-dollar loan from his state’s general fund to cover Medicaid costs that have been sent soaring by the state’s expansion of healthcare coverage to illegal immigrants. The $2.8 billion general fund loan request followed on the heels of an initial $3.4 billion request to cover an earlier shortfall in state healthcare program Medi-Cal.

Judges Block Trump Effort to Deport Violent Gang Members.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: A federal appeals court ruled that President Donald J. Trump cannot use the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to deport alleged Venezuelan gang members.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: President Trump, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and members of the Tren de Aragua gang.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The ruling was issued on Tuesday, September 3, 2025, in the United States.

💬KEY QUOTE: “A country’s encouraging its residents and citizens to enter this country illegally is not the modern-day equivalent of sending an armed, organized force to occupy, to disrupt, or to otherwise harm the United States,” the court wrote in its ruling.

🎯IMPACT: The decision blocks the Trump administration from using the Alien Enemies Act to deport illegal immigrants, though other legal avenues for deportation remain available.

IN FULL

A federal appeals court ruled on Tuesday that President Donald J. Trump cannot use the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to deport Venezuelan illegal immigrant members of the Tren de Aragua (TdA) gang. The administration had invoked the 18th-century wartime law in March to deport 137 alleged gang members to El Salvador’s Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT).

The law allows presidents to deport people from enemy countries during an “invasion or predatory incursion.” However, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals determined that the activities of the TdA gang do not constitute an “invasion” or “predatory incursion.” The court stated, “There is no finding that this mass immigration was an armed, organized force or forces.”

Since retaking office in January, the Trump administration has deported over 6,000 Venezuelans, including 238 sent to CECOT earlier this year. Family members and illegal immigrant advocates claim that many of those deported have no criminal record or gang ties—though evidence from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) suggests otherwise.

The case originated with illegal immigrants detained in Texas who sued to block their deportation under the Alien Enemies Act. After the lower court dismissed the case, the Supreme Court intervened, ruling that the Fifth Circuit was wrong to dismiss the matter and that illegal immigrants had not been given adequate notice of their deportations.

UN: Migration Towards the U.S. Is Down 97 Percent Under Trump.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: A United Nations (UN) report has revealed that migration from Venezuela towards the U.S. is down around 97 percent, with over 14,000 migrants reversing course and abandoning their plans to cross into the United States mid-journey, citing the Trump administration’s strict border enforcement policies.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Migrants primarily from Venezuela, along with the governments of Colombia, Panama, and Costa Rica, supported by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Migration through Central America and the Darién Gap peaked under former President Joe Biden in 2023, with a significant decline reported in early 2025 as U.S. border policies tightened under Trump.

💬KEY QUOTE: “It’s time to go back,” said one migrant quoted in the report.

🎯IMPACT: Migration toward the U.S. has slowed dramatically, with July 2025 recording the lowest monthly apprehensions in U.S. Border Patrol history.

IN FULL

A United Nations (UN) report has confirmed a dramatic shift in migration trends, with migration towards the U.S. from Venezuela down almost 100 percent. Over 14,000 migrants have abandoned their journeys north through Central America in what has been dubbed “reverse flow” migration. The transformation comes after President Donald J. Trump reinstated strict border enforcement policies, resulting in record-low illegal crossings.

The report, compiled by the governments of Colombia, Panama, and Costa Rica with support from the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, shows that migration from Venezuela toward the U.S. has dropped by a staggering 97 percent. Migrants cited tougher U.S. policies (46 percent) and being unable to cross the border (49 percent) as their main reasons for turning back. Others mentioned running out of money (34 percent) or fear of detention and deportation (17 percent).

“It’s time to go back—the American dream wasn’t like this,” complained one migrant quoted in the report.

“The world is hearing our message that America’s borders are closed to lawbreakers,” commented Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin, pointing to a near halt in crossings through Panama’s treacherous Darién Gap. In June, just 10 migrants reportedly made the journey, down from over 500,000 in 2023.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data for May 2025 also show a 93 percent decrease in illegal crossings compared to the same month last year. Only 8,725 encounters were recorded, with zero migrants paroled into the U.S., compared to over 62,000 releases in May 2024. Border Czar Tom Homan has previously highlighted that releases have dropped by 99.99 percent compared to the Biden era.

ICE Has Tripled Arrests of Illegal Aliens in This Democrat City:

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has tripled the rate of arrests of illegal immigrants in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, compared to the Biden government’s final year in office.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: ICE, Pittsburgh police, eight regional agencies, and illegal immigrants.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; 2025.

💬KEY QUOTE: “We continue to honor and protect our immigrant neighbors, who are an essential part of what makes Pittsburgh strong—through their contributions, cultures, and presence in our communities.” – Mayor Ed Gainey (D)

🎯IMPACT: ICE arrests have increased and leftist activists are protesting.

IN FULL

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has surged agents in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, taking about 580 illegal immigrants into custody in the city so far this year, compared with only 210 in the same time frame during former President Joe Biden’s final year in office. The surge in arrests comes despite Pittsburgh’s Democrat-enacted policy barring local police from assisting ICE in federal immigration enforcement actions.

Notably, the arrest data was compiled by the Deportation Data Project, a pro-open borders non-profit group that works with organizations providing aid to illegal immigrants. Estimates from both Pew and the Center for Migration Studies suggest around 300,000 illegal immigrants currently reside in Pennsylvania.

Despite Democrat-backed legal measures preventing assistance from the Pittsburgh police, at least eight other regional law enforcement agencies have approved ICE’s 287(g) cooperation agreements. The federally coordinated immigration enforcement operation has sparked backlash from far-left activists, who allege ICE raids have damaged several local businesses, including causing a restaurant kitchen fire. However, ICE contends the fire was caused by a group of illegal immigrants employed by the establishment.

According to an ICE spokesman, the “damage to the restaurant, including the small fire, was created by the illegal aliens themselves while they were trying to escape or hide from law enforcement officers.”

Despite Pittsburgh recently being removed from the Justice Department’s list of “sanctuary” jurisdictions, Democrat city mayor Ed Gainey has stressed that “It’s important to make clear that the City of Pittsburgh has not altered its policies or practices.”

“We continue to honor and protect our immigrant neighbors, who are an essential part of what makes Pittsburgh strong—through their contributions, cultures, and presence in our communities,” he added.

ICE Deportations Near 200,000, on Track to Reach 300,000 By Year End.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and other federal agencies have deported nearly 350,000 people since President Donald J. Trump took office, with ICE alone deporting close to 200,000.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: ICE, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the U.S. Coast Guard, and the Trump administration.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Deportations recorded during the 2025 Fiscal Year.

💬KEY QUOTE: “In the face of a historic number of injunctions from activist judges, ICE, CBP, and the U.S. Coast Guard have made historic progress to carry out President Trump’s promise of arresting and deporting illegal aliens who have invaded our country.” – Senior Department of Homeland Security (DHS) official

🎯IMPACT: ICE deportations could surpass 300,000 in fiscal year 2025, potentially matching levels last seen under former President Obama in 2014.

IN FULL

New data reveals that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has deported nearly 200,000 individuals under President Donald J. Trump‘s second term so far. Notably, total deportations across federal agencies are nearing 350,000, according to a senior Department of Homeland Security (DHS) official.

These numbers include deportations carried out by ICE, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and the U.S. Coast Guard, as well as self-deportations. From October through December 2024, ICE recorded approximately 71,400 deportations. When including these numbers, ICE is—by itself—on track to potentially surpass 300,000 deportations in fiscal year 2025. This would be the highest number since fiscal year 2014, when around 316,000 deportations were carried out under former President Barack Obama.

Notably, President Trump’s Border Czar, Tom Homan, was executive associate director of enforcement and removal operations at ICE in 2014.

Meanwhile, CBP has recorded over 132,000 deportations this year, along with tracking approximately 17,500 self-deportations. Combined with ICE’s efforts, these numbers bring the total deportations under Trump’s administration to nearly 350,000 since the beginning of his second term.

“In the face of a historic number of injunctions from activist judges, ICE, CBP, and the U.S. Coast Guard have made historic progress to carry out President Trump’s promise of arresting and deporting illegal aliens who have invaded our country,” a senior Homeland Security official said. “Additionally, illegal aliens are hearing our message to leave now or face the consequence.”

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem has estimated that, in total, 1.6 million illegal immigrants have self-deported since President Trump’s inauguration.

The current daily rate of ICE arrests—between 1,000 and 2,000—still falls short of the White House’s stated goal of 3,000 daily arrests, although it is around double that of the former Biden government.

Trump Directs ICE to Intensify Operations in These Five Sanctuary Cities:

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: The Trump administration announced plans to intensify immigration enforcement in five major U.S. cities, including Chicago, with federal officials considering a naval base as an operations hub.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: White House Border Czar Tom Homan, President Donald J. Trump, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker (D).

📍WHEN & WHERE: August 28, 2025; cities include Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Portland, and Seattle.

💬KEY QUOTE: “All these sanctuary cities… refuse to work with ICE,” said Tom Homan.

🎯IMPACT: The move could expand ICE operations and potentially increase federal intervention in sanctuary cities.

IN FULL

The Trump administration has announced an effort to ramp up immigration enforcement in five major U.S. cities, including Chicago. Federal officials are reportedly considering utilizing a Lake Michigan naval base as an operations hub for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations.

White House Border Czar Tom Homan, speaking to reporters on Thursday, stated that a “large contingent” of ICE agents would be deployed to sanctuary jurisdictions that continue to undermine federal immigration laws. Cities targeted include New York, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, and Chicago.

President Donald J. Trump has also criticized Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker (D) for violent crime in Chicago, suggesting that the city’s leadership has failed to protect its residents. Trump reiterated the federal government’s readiness to intervene if necessary.

“Governor Pritzker had 6 murders in Chicago this weekend. 20 people were shot. But he doesn’t want to ask me for help. Can this be possible?” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social. He added: “The people are desperate for me to STOP THE CRIME, something the Democrats aren’t capable of doing. STAY TUNED!!!”

Homan confirmed ongoing discussions about expanding ICE’s presence near Chicago, emphasizing the administration’s stance against sanctuary city policies. “All these sanctuary cities… refuse to work with ICE,” Homan said.
