Mexican Cartels Are Firing on U.S. Border Patrol.

Mexican Cartel members allegedly opened fire at the United States’s border with Mexico on Monday, January 27, with U.S. Border Patrol agents returning fire from Texas. Border Patrol officials near Fronton, TX, were allegedly attacked by cartel members from the Mexican side of the border as illegal immigrants were crossing across the Rio Grande. The Border Patrol agents returned fire, but no one on either side was hit.

Lt. Chris Olivarez of the Texas Department for Public Safety (DPS) told reporter Bill Melugin that DPS was patrolling the area where the shooting took place with vehicles and drones. Members of the Mexican armed forces were also seen operating on the other side of the Rio Grande.

The firefight comes as President Donald J. Trump has heightened security at the southern border and signed an executive order designating the cartels as foreign terrorist organizations, warning of possible U.S. military operations against them in the future. Subsequently, the Trump administration sent 1,500 military servicemen, including members of the Marine Corps, to help secure the border.

President Trump and his administration have also scrapped the CBP One app, which was used by hundreds of thousands of illegals to enter the U.S. under the former Biden-Harris regime.

Trump Drops Biden Govt Charges Against Doctor Who Exposed Clandestine Transing of Kids.

President Donald J. Trump’s Department of Justice (DOJ) is moving to dismiss the federal prosecution initiated by the Biden government against Texas doctor and whistleblower Eithan Haim. Last summer, the Biden DOJ filed charges against Dr. Haim after he exposed a Texas hospital’s clandestine program administering puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and other sex-change operations on minors.

“The United States, appearing through its undersigned attorneys, and the defendant, Eithan David Haim, hereby move this Court for an order dismissing the Second Superseding Indictment and all open counts with prejudice,” the filing reads.

In 2023, Haim had alerted several media outlets, including City Journal, that the Texas Children’s Hospital transgender medicine program included minor children among its patients, despite the hospital publicly stating otherwise. The ensuing controversy led the Texas state legislature to ban transgender medical procedures from being conducted on minors altogether.

Following the disclosure, the Biden government sent federal agents to Haim’s residence to question him and inform him he was under federal investigation. Nearly a year later, Assistant U.S. Attorney Tina Ansari indicted Haim on four felony counts for violating federal HIPAA statutes.

In response to the charges, Haim’s attorney insisted that the doctor went to great lengths to comply with HIPAA standards, even in his leaks to the media, redacting any patient-identifying information from the documents he provided reporters. The Biden government’s persecution of the medical whistleblower drew outrage from activists who oppose the medical community’s negligence regarding the radical and controversial transgender procedures.

President Trump Closes Infamous El Paso, Texas Port of Entry.

The El Paso, Texas Port of Entry—a border crossing checkpoint that saw a flood of illegal immigrants under former President Joe Biden—has been closed by President Donald J. Trump just minutes after he took the Presidential Oath of Office on Monday. The move follows the shutdown of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s CBP One app, which was used by the Biden government to allow an unprecedented number of illegal immigrants to cross into the United States.

In March of last year, the El Paso border crossing saw a massive migrant riot with U.S. National Guard soldiers coming under attack. Illegal immigrants became agitated and violent as border officials attempted to process the several hundred who had gathered at the El Paso checkpoint. While a number of the rioters were arrested, they were later ordered to be released by a Texas judge after local prosecutors failed to file charges and court paperwork in a timely manner. It is believed that over 100 Tren de Aragua members—a violent Venezuelan prison gang—were among those released.

Democrats Elect BlackRock-Linked ‘Republican’ as Texas Speaker.

Texas House Democrats have teamed up with a rump of Republicans-in-name-only (RINOs) to choose the new Speaker of the Texas House, Representative Dustin Burrows. Forty-nine Democrats and 36 RINOs teamed up to hand Burrows the gavel, defeating the MAGA-endorsed Rep. David Cook, backed by 55 Republicans. Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, who wields significant powers as President of the Texas Senate, marveled, “This may be the first time in our nation’s history where the minority party openly elected the speaker of a legislative body instead of the majority party.”

“Speaker Burrows was handed the speakership by Democrats, as has happened behind closed doors session after session since 2009,” Patrick lamented. Conservatives had hoped the ouster of former Speaker Dade Phelan, an anti-MAGA figure who enabled the Democrat-led impeachment of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, might pave the way for America First leadership in the House.

Paxton endorsed Cook ahead of the speakership contest, stressing Burrows’s “financial ties to Third Coast Bank—whose largest shareholders happen to be BlackRock and Vanguard.” The investment corporations are noted for using their financial power to promote Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG). BlackRock boss Larry Fink infamously declared, “at BlackRock, we are forcing behaviors” that embrace diversity and inclusion.

VICTORY LAP.

The Texas House Democrats are openly celebrating their election of Burrows, boasting they “were successful in our efforts to stop [Governor] Greg Abbott, Ken Paxton, their billionaire donors, and the politicians they bought from selecting the Speaker of the House.”

“This House cannot function without Democratic participation and leadership,” they declared. Cook had pledged to stop putting the Democrats in charge of committees, but Burrows, who owes the left-wing party his position, is likely to preserve or even enhance their influence.

This is despite the fact the Democrats only hold around 42.67 percent of House seats.

Over 200,000 Residents Fled This U.S. State in a Year.

Census Bureau data reveals that, between 2023 and 2024, more individuals fled California than from any other state in the U.S. California reported a net domestic migration loss of 239,575 residents. New York followed with a loss of 120,917 residents over the same period.

The data confirms a continuing trend in the Western United States, particularly in California, where numerous residents have moved to southern states in recent years. The Institute for Economic Policy Research highlights that many people leave California for more affordable and safe living conditions, with housing costs being a significant factor. The National Pulse previously reported that a conservative exodus from California likely helped push Nevada back into the Republican column in the 2024 presidential election.

California’s cost of living ranks among the highest nationwide. According to Redfin, the current median sale price of a home in California is $831,300, nearly doubling the national median of $430,010. States like Texas and Arizona have been primary destinations for former California residents. Despite the economic motivations, about a quarter of those leaving cited political reasons for their move.

Texas emerged as a primary beneficiary of the outflow, recording a net gain of 85,267 new residents over the same period. Texas offers several advantages, such as no state income tax and ongoing housing development, unlike California, which faces a homelessness crisis and housing shortage. The state’s energy independence from the Western Interconnection electric system also appeals to many.

The overall U.S. population grew by approximately 1 percent in the last year, exceeding 340 million individuals. This marks the fastest yearly growth since 2001 and is predominantly attributed to increased net international migration, likely illegal immigration.

Illegal Immigrant Barber Accused of Abusing Girls.

Authorities in Texas have charged a Mexican national with sexually abusing young children while working as a barber in Montgomery County, near Houston. Jose Luis Briseno, 49, is accused of multiple instances of sexual abuse against two unnamed minors, according to court documents. The alleged incidents occurred in November at locations including the Porter Barber Shop in New Caney.

One of the alleged victims reported that Briseno assaulted her on three occasions, starting at the barber shop while she waited to have her hair cut. She also claimed he threatened her family with a firearm to keep her silent and offered her cash as hush money.

The same day, Briseno reportedly continued the abuse at a nearby home, enticing the girl with the promise of a toy. Later, he allegedly transported several children from the residence to his house, ostensibly to purchase batteries for their new toys. There, he reportedly abused the first victim again, filming the incident, and then a second child under similar pretenses.

Authorities say Briseno fled to Louisiana after committing these acts and allegedly stealing significant funds from his family’s business. He has since been arrested and extradited to Texas, where he is currently in custody. The National Pulse has previously reported that Lousiana approved voluntary surgical castration for those convicted of pedophilia.

Homeland Security admits that Briseno entered the United States illegally in 2004 and was involved in a domestic assault case in 2014 in San Antonio. After serving a short jail sentence and being fined, he was transferred to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). He was later released on bond by an immigration judge despite his initial illegal entry into the country.

Winning: Anti-Paxton Texas Speaker Abandons Bid for Third Term Amid MAGA Backlash.

Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan announced Friday that he is stepping aside in his bid for another term as leader. The move follows months of escalating criticism from MAGA conservatives within his party, who have sought to remove him from power and reshape the House’s leadership.

Phelan, who claimed he had the votes to fend off a challenge from former ally Rep. David Cook, withdrew just a day before the GOP caucus was set to choose its speaker nominee regardless. Infamously, Phelan assisted the failed plot to impeach and remove the Lone Star State’s America First Attorney General, Ken Paxton.

Rep. Dustin Burrows, a Phelan ally, is filing paperwork to run in his place. However, Burrows faces resistance from MAGA conservatives determined to elect a speaker without relying on Democratic votes—a hallmark of Phelan’s tenure.

“For the integrity of this chamber, I have decided to step aside,” Phelan said in a statement. Despite his claims of conservative accomplishments, critics accuse him of blocking key priorities and empowering Democrats through committee appointments and legislative delays.

Phelan’s position weakened after Attorney General Ken Paxton’s acquittal in the Senate, which many viewed as a rebuke of Phelan’s support for the impeachment. Further damage came from his perceived lack of support for school vouchers, a priority of Governor Greg Abbott, who backed efforts to unseat Phelan-aligned Republicans during primaries.

The state party’s MAGA wing has pushed for reforms such as barring Democrats from chairing committees and prioritizing Republican bills. These insurgents view Phelan’s departure as a chance to advance a stronger conservative agenda, aligning the House more closely with Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick’s Senate.

Texas Lawmakers Plan to Ban All Consumable THC Next Year.

Texas lawmakers are set to discuss a proposal aimed at banning all consumable THC products in the upcoming legislative session beginning January 14, 2025. Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick announced that Senate Bill 3, which would prohibit these products, including those with low levels of THC like delta-8 and delta-9, is among his top priorities.

“We are not going to allow these retailers to circumvent the law and put Texans’ lives in danger,” the Lieutenant Governor said in a statement. “This bill will have broad bipartisan support in the Senate, and I trust the House will also see the danger of these products and pass this bill with overwhelming support so it can become law immediately.”

Although marijuana remains illegal in Texas, a 2019 law promoting agriculture allowed Texans to purchase low-level THC items such as vapes, gummies, and seltzers. Current regulations require consumable hemp products to contain no more than 0.3 percent THC. However, Patrick has expressed concerns that some products on the market exceed this legal limit.

If the proposed bill is approved, the sale of all THC products would be halted, ending the legality of buying these items in Texas. Patrick asserts that the measure is necessary to prevent retailers from exploiting the law to sell products deemed dangerous to the public. He anticipates broad bipartisan support for the bill in both the Senate and the House, emphasizing the urgency for it to become law.

This development follows a recent case involving a business named THC Club in Houston. The establishment was raided after investigators found them selling products that reportedly surpassed the legal potency limits. The business owners faced money laundering charges related to selling unlawful items.

Elon Musk’s $100M School, Ad Astra, Gets Its Operational Permit.

Elon Musk is developing a new educational institution called Ad Astra, which is slated to operate in Bastrop County, Texas, for the 2024-25 academic year. It recently received an operational permit.

Ad Astra, translating to “to the stars” in Latin, aims to nurture the next generation of innovators with a science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)-oriented curriculum designed for children aged three to nine. The institution will be managed by Greg Marick, CEO of Xplor Education, known for its Montessori-inspired educational programs across the U.S.

Musk’s philanthropic organization, the X Foundation, has committed nearly $100 million to this project. This funding could serve as a foundation for potentially broadening Ad Astra’s educational offerings to include K-12 levels and possibly opening a university in Texas, depending on the program’s success.

This venture is not Musk’s foray into the education sector. In 2014, he launched an experimental school, also named Ad Astra, on the SpaceX campus, initially intended for his children and those of company employees. This original school evolved into Astra Nova, an online educational platform for ages 10 to 14 featuring a unique curriculum.

Texas Offers 1,400 Acres for Migrant Detention Center.

The Texas General Land Office (GLO) has proposed leasing land for a detention facility to the incoming administration of President-elect Donald J. Trump. Commissioner Dawn Buckingham is offering a 1,400-acre tract in Starr County, Texas, intended for the processing and detention of violent criminal migrants.

Buckingham, who says she is in communication with Trump and his presidential transition team, indicated readiness to collaborate with federal agencies like the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to facilitate what she described as a significant deportation initiative. The land in question was acquired by the Texas GLO in October and is situated near the state’s border with Mexico.

In the past, land ownership issues have hampered federal law enforcement activities at the border and, in some instances, allowed illicit activities to continue unabated. The acquisition is part of a broader strategy to bolster security, which includes constructing a 1.5-mile border wall segment along the property’s Rio Grande frontage. This development follows recent GLO initiatives, such as designating a strategically important island along the Rio Grande as state property to disrupt smuggling routes utilized by cartels.

President-elect Trump has hinted at the potential use of military forces to support his border control measures, especially regarding the arrest and separation of members of violent criminal gangs.

Previously, Buckingham’s efforts have included collaborations with Texas law enforcement agencies to curb illegal activities on state lands. Her ongoing initiatives demonstrate the GLO’s active participation in supporting Texas’s role in federal immigration policies. The ranch identified for the facility is approximately 20 miles east of a site previously targeted for cartel disruption operations.
