Divorce All Trump Voters? Liberals’ Derangement Syndrome Now on Full Display

We are “on the very verge of the second dark ages,” according to Harper’s Bazaar writer Jennifer Wright, in her recent article entitled “If You Are Married to a Trump Supporter, Divorce Them.” With a headline like that, one would hope to find a strictly satirical piece, but instead, Wright leads us on a guided tour of the madness that the Left has lately been buying into.

Political views, apparently, now trump any other possible connection that occurs between two people. The days of an Alan Colmes-Jocelyn Crowley or James Carville-Mary Matalin marriage are firmly behind us, if Wright’s piece is to be taken as gospel. Wright’s article is based on the notion that Trump supporters are devoid of any semblance of a moral compass, and she even goes so far as to suggest that supporters of the President have a cavalier attitude toward the terrifying prospect of nuclear war. She believes that the differences between Trump supporters, and, apparently, everyone else, is a matter of values. She writes:

Couples don’t need to agree on everything. Disagreement on some issues helps broaden our perspectives. But most successful couples do seem to have moral compasses that point in roughly the same direction.

Her tiring sermon continues, as she advocates her readers not to “saddle [themselves]” with someone who must be so devoid of moral fiber that they would dare to have different views and values. The solution? Just divorce them. After all:

“My partner’s views are morally repulsive to me” is one of the best [for divorce] reasons I can think of.

She encourages people to find a partner “who thinks nuclear war is a bad thing,” because Trump supporters are, apparently, also pro-nuclear holocaust.

While this all seems crazy, there actually are examples of marriages ending over Trump — most notably Anthony Scaramucci’s marriage. Shortly after being designated Trump’s Communications Director, and before being removed from that role, Scaramucci’s wife filed for divorce reportedly because “[she] is not a fan of Trump, and she hasn’t exactly been on board and supportive of Anthony and his push to get back into the White House.”

It seems clear that if you’re in a relationship with someone who buys into this sort of thinking, you might be better off not getting married to them in the first place.
