After extensive pressure from Democratic lawmakers, the Republican-controlled House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic has published the full two-part transcribed interview with Dr. Anthony Fauci. The release comes one business day before the former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) director is set to testify before the subcommittee. It reveals that Fauci did not personally read grant applications he approved — including the application of EcoHealth Alliance, whose activities may very well be the origin of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The interview, which initially in fragments surfaced in January, includes Fauci’s acknowledgment that the lab leak theory pertaining to the origins of COVID-19 is not a conspiracy theory and he lacks evidence for the six-foot social distancing mandate.
Key revelations from the interviews include Fauci’s admission that he never personally read a research grant application before signing off on it. This includes the EcoHealth Alliance’s application with the Wuhan Institute of Virology, which has raised concerns regarding gain-of-function research potentially linked to the origins of COVID-19. Fauci also revealed his lack of knowledge about whether NIAID verifies the biosafety of foreign labs or if such grants undergo national security review.
An unnamed Biden regime official obstructed Fauci from answering whether he recommended travel restrictions during the pandemic, though Fauci stated he supported every travel restriction implemented under the Trump administration. This, according to the GOP majority, contradicts public portrayals of the restrictions as xenophobic.
Fauci, in support of COVID-19 vaccine mandates, suggested making life “difficult” for those refusing vaccination. However, he noted the necessity for social studies to ascertain if such mandates have counterproductive effects.
Fauci is scheduled to testify at 10AM on June 3.
