Lobbyists for CCP-Linked EV Firm Funneled Cash to Democrats.

Lobbyists at a Michigan law firm registered as foreign agents on behalf of the Chinese electric vehicle batter company, Gotion, also funneled campaign cash to some of the state’s top Democrat politicians.

Monique Field-Foster, an attorney at the Lansing office of Warner Norcross + Judd and registered foreign agent for Gotion, donated to the campaigns of Democrat Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Whitmer’s sister Liz Gereghty, and U.S Senate hopeful Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich). Another attorney at the firm, Madelaine Lane, also contributed to Gov. Whitmer’s campaign. The law firm was hired to represent Gotion and perform tasks such as real estate acquisitions and attending public rezoning hearings.

The Gotion project in Mecosta County, Michigan – where the Chinese company says it will invest $2.4 billion in two production plants – has faced pushback from locals, former State Department officials, and Republicans who are concerned that the parent company – Gotion High-Tech – poses a national security risk.

The National Pulse previously reported that Gotion High-Tech’s corporate bylaws indicate that the company must carry out activities according to the Constitution of the Communist Party of China. The project has received support from Gov. Whitmer, who sees it as an economic development opportunity and a step towards becoming a global hub of mobility and electrification.

Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Rep. Elissa Slotkin signed a non-disclosure agreement regarding ongoing development projects in Michigan with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC). Slotkin’s agreement was updated to include “any potential Development Project identified as confidential” after the Gotion project was announced. Slotkin’s spokesperson denies her involvement in the Gotion project and states that she learned of it through press reports.

Iranian House Democrat Wants to Impeach Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Representative Yassamin Ansari (D-AZ) announced early Tuesday that she will introduce articles of impeachment in the House of Representatives against Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, alleging he is aiding in the commission of war crimes against civilian targets in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Rep. Yassamin Ansari, Sec. Pete Hegseth, President Donald J. Trump, House Democrats, and House Republicans.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Ansari announced her impeachment push in a video posted to X (formerly Twitter) early Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

💬KEY QUOTE: “As a chief enabler of this illegal war, Pete Hegseth is responsible for directing this insane military action against Iran, which has already killed thousands of civilians, led to the unnecessary deaths of American service members, and displaced over a million people in the region.” — Rep. Ansari

🎯IMPACT: House Democrats have attempted to impeach Hegseth before, via a push based on false reports that the Secretary of War ordered a secondary strike on cartel operatives aboard a drug boat who had survived an initial attack.

IN FULL

Representative Yassamin Ansari (D-AZ) announced early Tuesday that she will introduce articles of impeachment in the House of Representatives against Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, alleging he is aiding in the commission of war crimes against civilian targets in the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Arizona Democrat lawmaker cited President Donald J. Trump’s threat to hit Iranian power plants, desalination plants, and bridges if the Islamist regime does not agree to reopen the Strait of Hormuz by 8:00 PM EST tonight.

“What we have seen out of the Trump administration over this weekend has been absolutely horrifying,” Rep. Ansari—the child of Iranian immigrants—said in a video posted to X (formerly Twitter). She continued, “The threats against Iranian civilian infrastructure and the entire country of Iran are unreal and apocalyptic… Iran is a country of 90 million people. Threatening them with annihilation is a monstrous war crime.”

“As a chief enabler of this illegal war, Pete Hegseth is responsible for directing this insane military action against Iran; which has already killed thousands of civilians, led to the unnecessary deaths of American service members, and displaced over a million people in the region,” Ansari added. “That’s why I’m introducing articles of impeachment against Hegseth for repeatedly violating his oath of office and the Constitution, including the disregard of Congress and the willful targeting of civilian infrastructure in Iran.”

Notably, this is not the first time House Democrats have attempted to impeach Trump’s Secretary of War. The National Pulse reported last December that Rep. Shri Thanedar (D-MI) filed articles of impeachment against Hegseth, citing false reports alleging that the Secretary of War ordered a secondary strike on cartel operatives aboard a drug boat who had survived an initial attack.

Thanedar’s impeachment push gained little traction, and the articles were never adopted.

Kanye West Banned From Entering Britain.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Kanye West was blocked from entering Britain due to controversy over his anti-Semitic remarks.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Shabana Mahmood and Kanye West, also known as Ye.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The decision was made recently as West was planning to headline the Wireless Festival in London in July.

💬KEY QUOTE: Sources have confirmed the Government blocked his entry.

🎯IMPACT: The decision came after calls to ban West over his past anti-Semitic actions.

IN FULL

British authorities have blocked Kanye “Ye” West from entering the United Kingdom, citing his past anti-Semitic remarks. Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood—roughly equivalent to the U.S. Homeland Security Secretary—played a role in the decision to refuse him entry, after Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer criticized Wireless Festival for inviting him to headline an event in London.

Starmer’s government had come under mounting pressure from Members of Parliament (MPs) and Jewish organizations to stop West from entering the country, due to incidents including his release of a song titled “Heil Hitler” and the sale of a swastika T-shirt on his website.

Sources have confirmed that West’s application for an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) has been rejected, preventing him from entering Britain.

Corporate sponsors, including Pepsi, had attempted to force West out of the festival by withdrawing support, but its organizers initially stood by him, saying, “Forgiveness and giving people a second chance are becoming a lost virtue in this ever-increasing, divisive world.”

West previously apologized for anti-Semitic remarks, blaming them on bipolar disorder.

Trump Threatens: ‘A Whole Civilization Will Die Tonight… Maybe Something Wonderful Can Happen.’

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Donald Trump posted a message on Truth Social threatening Iran’s leaders for failing to negotiate.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: President Donald Trump and the leaders of Iran.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The post was made on Truth Social, with reference to events occurring tonight.

💬KEY QUOTE: “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again.” – Donald Trump

🎯IMPACT: Responses have ranged from calling Trump a bluffer, to accusing him of threatening a massive genocide.

IN FULL

President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to express his thoughts on what he describes as a pivotal moment in Iran’s history. In his post, Trump mentioned the potential end of an era marked by “47 years of extortion, corruption, and death.”

He speculated on the possibility of a “revolutionarily wonderful” outcome due to what he referred to as “Complete and Total Regime Change,” suggesting that new leadership in Iran could lead to positive developments.

Trump’s post conveyed a sense of urgency and importance, as he stated, “We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World.”

While expressing his hope for positive change, Trump acknowledged the potential for irreversible consequences, stating, “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again.”

He concluded his message with a blessing for the Iranian people, “God Bless the Great People of Iran!” signalling his support for the nation’s citizens amidst these changes.

Still, the President’s post has caused uproar from commentators, with some suggesting his post amounts to threatening a massive genocide, and others simply claiming he has failed to negotiate with Iran’s new leaders, despite signaling just weeks ago that a deal was on the table.

Festival Chief Defends Booking Kanye West as UK Govt Weighs Entry Ban.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: The managing director of Wireless Festival in London, England, defended the decision to have Kanye West as a headliner, despite a push to bar him from the country over previous anti-Semitic remarks.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Kanye West, Festival Republic’s managing director Melvin Benn, Jewish groups, British government officials and lawmakers, and festival sponsors.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Wireless Festival, scheduled for July, held in Finsbury Park, London.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Forgiveness and giving people a second chance are becoming a lost virtue in this ever-increasing divisive world.” – Melvin Benn

🎯IMPACT: Sponsors have pulled out, Jewish groups have criticized the decision, and the British government is reviewing West’s visa eligibility.

IN FULL

The managing director for Wireless Festival, an annual hip-hop festival held in London, England, has responded to mounting pressure from British lawmakers, Jewish groups, and corporate sponsors to disinvite rapper Kanye West, who now goes by Ye, for previous anti-Semitic remarks. “Forgiveness and giving people a second chance are becoming a lost virtue in this ever-increasing divisive world,” said Melvin Benn, managing director at Festival Republic, the company organizing Wireless Festival, which is scheduled for July later this year.

Benn’s response comes as the British government considers whether or not to allow West into the country. The decision to invite West as a headline act has been heavily criticized by British Members of Parliament (MPs), including Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, as well as various Jewish organizations, including the Campaign Against Antisemitism and the Board of Deputies of British Jews.

West caused controversy following several anti-Semitic episodes, such as releasing a song called “Heil Hitler,” wearing and selling T-shirts featuring the Nazi swastika, identifying as a Nazi, and announcing that he was going “death con 3 on Jewish people”. West has since apologized, attributing his behavior to bipolar disorder.

Festival Republic’s response comes after several major sponsors of the event, including Pepsi, Diageo, and PayPal, said they would withdraw their support after West was announced as a headline act.

U.S. NGOs Sending Aid Overseas Enjoy Funding Surge, Despite DOGE Supposedly Cutting Them Off.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: New analysis reveals significant cash injections to large U.S. aid charities despite a push to cut their funding early in the current Trump administration.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: The former Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Chemonics, Global Solutions Ventures, FHI360, Jhpiego, and Dr. KJ Seung of the Health Security Policy Academy.

📍WHEN & WHERE: April 2026, United States.

💬KEY QUOTE: “They did the exact opposite of what they said they were going to do.” – Dr. KJ Seung

🎯IMPACT: The data contradicts DOGE’s initial claims of success in achieving its aims to defund large U.S.-based charities that funnel taxpayer dollars to foreign countries.

IN FULL

New analysis shows several U.S. aid non-government organizations (NGOs), once described as “beltway bandits” for raking in multi-million-dollar contracts, received massive cash injections despite a Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) drive to cut their spending early in the current Trump administration. “They did the exact opposite of what they said they were going to do,” said Dr. KJ Seung, a physician and member of the Health Security Policy Academy, which conducted the study.

According to the research published by the Health Security Policy Academy—a think tank in Mass General Brigham’s Division of Global Health Equity—for-profit contractor and private international development firm Chemonics received a 16 percent increase in taxpayer funding in 2025, a $173 million jump compared to 2024. Similarly, Global Solutions Ventures, another for-profit organization that provides government staffing services, received an extra $82 million compared to last year, marking a 727 percent increase in federal funding.

In another case, FHI360, a global health and economic development non-profit based in North Carolina that operates in over 60 countries, received $444 million more in 2025 than in 2024, a 110 percent increase. Additionally, Jhpiego, an international health nonprofit affiliated with Johns Hopkins University, received an additional $194 million, marking a 133 percent increase.

The data contradicts DOGE’s initial claims of success in achieving its aims, laid out in January 2025, to defund large U.S.-based charities that funnel taxpayer dollars to foreign countries. DOGE has since been pronounced “dead” by the Trump administration, amid its failure to achieve significant spending reduction targets.

Soros-Backed DA Claims Deporting Violent Illegals is ‘Perversion of Justice.’

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: George Soros-backed Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano is facing renewed criticism for stating that deporting criminal illegal immigrants is a “perversion of justice” in a now-deleted section of his campaign website.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Steve Descano, accused murderer Abdul Jalloh, victim Stephanie Minter, and George Soros.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The now-deleted campaign webpage resurfaced in early April 2026.

💬KEY QUOTE: “If two people commit the same crime, but only one’s punishment includes deportation, that’s a perversion of justice and not a reflection of the values of Fairfax County.” – Steve Descano.

🎯IMPACT: Descano’s policies are under scrutiny following the murder of Stephanie Minter by a repeatedly released illegal immigrant.

IN FULL

Steve Descano, the George Soros-backed Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney, is facing renewed public scrutiny after it was revealed over Easter weekend that a now-deleted section of his campaign website called the deportation of criminal illegal immigrants a “perversion of justice.” The district attorney for Fairfax County, Virginia, has been the focus of repeated criticism from voters and the Trump administration for dropping charges against illegal immigrants, including Abdul Jalloh—an illegal immigrant from Sierra Leone with over 30 prior arrests—who allegedly stabbed 41-year-old Stephanie Minter to death at a bus stop in late February.

In a now-deleted Community page on Descano’s campaign website, the far-left prosecutor pledges he “will make charging and plea decisions that limit or avoid immigration consequences.” Descano, whose campaigns have reportedly received over $700,000 from organizations backed by George Soros, further states, “If two people commit the same crime, but only one’s punishment includes deportation, that’s a perversion of justice and not a reflection of the values of Fairfax County.”

Next week, Descano and Fairfax County Sheriff Stacey Ann Kincaid are due to appear before the House Judiciary Committee’s Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement Subcommittee to testify on Fairfax County’s sanctuary policies amid several recent violent crimes perpetrated by illegal immigrants. In December last year, Descano’s office dropped charges of malicious wounding and brandishing a firearm against Marvin Morales-Ortez, an illegal immigrant from El Salvador, and subsequently released him from county custody. A day later, Morales-Ortez was arrested again, this time in connection with a fatal stabbing.

The National Pulse previously reported that Descano and Fairfax County officials have faced backlash for the repeated release of Abdul Jalloh, despite his violent criminal history. On February 23, Jalloh allegedly murdered Stephanie Minter at a bus stop in Fairfax County’s Hybla Valley neighborhood. Local police had repeatedly warned prosecutors in Descano’s office that the illegal posed a dangerous threat to the broader community.

Chinese Researcher Falls to Death at U.S. University After Alleged ‘Hostile Questioning’ by Feds.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: A Chinese semiconductor researcher at the University of Michigan, Danhao Wang, died after falling from the university’s George G. Brown Building, with his death being investigated as a “possible act of self-harm.” He has previously been subject to what the Chinese government described as “hostile questioning” by U.S. authorities.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Danhao Wang, a postdoctoral researcher in the College of Engineering, U.S. law enforcement, and the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

📍WHEN & WHERE: March 20, 2026, at the University of Michigan’s George G. Brown Building in Ann Arbor.

💬KEY QUOTE: “China solemnly calls on the U.S. to carry out a full investigation, give the family of the victim and the Chinese side a responsible explanation, stop any discriminatory law enforcement targeting Chinese students and scholars in the U.S., and stop imposing wrongful convictions.” — Consulate General of China in Chicago

🎯IMPACT: China has routinely used students and researchers at American academic institutions to conduct technological espionage and intellectual property theft.

IN FULL

Danhao Wang, a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Michigan‘s College of Engineering, died on March 20, 2026, falling from the university’s George G. Brown Building, after what Chinese officials allege was “hostile questioning” by U.S. law enforcement. Police are investigating the case as a “possible act of self-harm.” Wang’s research at the university focused on materials related to semiconductor production.

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has suggested that Wang’s death may be tied to “being subjected to hostile questioning by U.S. law enforcement.” A statement from the ministry called for a “full investigation” and criticized what it described as “unwarranted U.S. interrogation and harassment targeting Chinese researchers and students.”

Notably, the incident occurred shortly after University of Michigan interim President Domenico Grasso testified before a House Committee about concerns regarding Chinese espionage on American campuses. Grasso emphasized the importance of foreign students while also highlighting the university’s decision to end a relationship with a Chinese institution deemed a potential security risk.

“The incident occurred at a U.S. university within our consular jurisdiction, and we are deeply saddened by the heartbreaking death,” the Consulate General of China in Chicago wrote in a statement posted to X (formerly Twitter), adding, “China solemnly calls on the U.S. to carry out a full investigation, give the family of the victim and the Chinese side a responsible explanation, stop any discriminatory law enforcement targeting Chinese students and scholars in the U.S., and stop imposing wrongful convictions.”

China has routinely used students and researchers at American academic institutions to conduct technological espionage and intellectual property theft. In May of last year, the Trump administration began a process of revoking student visas previously granted to Chinese nationals, especially those with Chinese Communist Party (CCP) ties.

CBS Replaces Colbert With ‘Woke’ Comedian Who Sued McDonald’s for ‘Racism.’

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: CBS has announced a new late-night schedule, replacing The Late Show with Stephen Colbert with the roundtable-style comedy talk show Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen at 11:35 PM.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: CBS executives, Byron Allen, and comedians featured on Comics Unleashed.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The change will take effect on May 22, 2026, with the show airing on CBS-owned stations nationwide.

💬KEY QUOTE: “The world can never have enough laughter,” said Byron Allen.

🎯IMPACT: Allen—a television producer and founder of the Allen Media Group, turned comedian—sued the McDonald’s fast food chain for $10 billion in 2021, alleging the company engaged in discrimination against black-owned media companies when making decisions regarding its advertising budget.

IN FULL

CBS announced on Monday that it will replace The Late Show with Stephen Colbert‘s time slot in its late-night programming with the roundtable-style comedy talk show Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen. The change will take effect on May 22, 2026, the day after Colbert‘s final episode.

Comics Unleashed, a roundtable comedy talk show hosted by media mogul-turned-comedian Byron Allen, has been airing in the 12:35 AM slot. It will now feature two back-to-back half-hour episodes nightly. The show has been in first-run syndication since 2006 and airs on CBS-owned stations in 14 markets.

By turning to Allen, the founder of the Allen Media Group, to fill the Colbert time slot, CBS appears to be doubling down on ‘woke’ late-night comedy programming. In 2021, Allen sued the fast-food chain McDonald’s for $10 billion, alleging that the company discriminated against black-owned media companies in allocating its advertising budget. The lawsuit was settled out of court in 2025.

Additionally, Allen sued Comcast and Charter Communications, accusing the two cable providers of racism for excluding his television properties from their cable bundles. The case was settled out of court in 2020, after the U.S. Supreme Court intervened and ruled that Allen must demonstrate that race was the sole deciding factor in the cable providers’ decision not to carry his channels.

In July last year, CBS announced the cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, amid parent company Paramount’s proposed merger with Skydance Media. Previously, Colbert had ridiculed Paramount for its $16 million settlement with President Donald J. Trump, who had sued CBS for doctoring a 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris during the 2024 presidential race.

Mamdani Unveils Far-Left ‘Racial Equity’ Plan for NYC.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s (D) administration released New York City’s first-ever racial equity plan, outlining goals to combat alleged racial disparities.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Mayor Zohran Mamdani, the Commission on Racial Equity, and former Mayor Eric Adams.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Released on Monday, April 6, 2026, in New York City, with public commentary open for 30 days.

💬KEY QUOTE: “While today’s True Cost of Living measure confirms that the affordability crisis touches every corner of our city, we know that these effects are not applied evenly. So often it is black and brown New Yorkers who are hit the hardest.” — Zohran Mamdani

🎯IMPACT: The new racial equity policies are already drawing scrutiny, especially from the federal government, as the Trump administration continues to roll back discriminatory diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs around the country.

IN FULL

New York City’s socialist mayor, Zohran Mamdani (D), unveiled his administration’s radical racial equity plan, directing city agencies to address and combat alleged racial disparities through initiatives such as improving pay “equity” in city roles, anti-racism training for staff, and enhancing data collection across demographics.

“While today’s True Cost of Living measure confirms that the affordability crisis touches every corner of our city, we know that these effects are not applied evenly. So often it is black and brown New Yorkers who are hit the hardest,” The Ugandan immigrant mayor said during a press conference on Monday. He continued, “This preliminary racial equity plan is the first step in developing a whole-of-government approach to tackling that reality. It is a plan that lays out these first steps to solve decades of neglect and discrimination, and it places the work of forty-five city agencies in a singular framework.”

The racial equity plan is mandated by the city’s charter following ballot reforms passed by voters in 2022. While a draft was due in early 2024 under former Mayor Eric Adams, the finalized plan was completed but never released during his tenure. The Commission on Racial Equity sued the city and Adams in August for failing to publish the plan on time. Mamdani vowed earlier this year to release the plan within his first 100 days in office.

Notably, Mamdani’s preliminary plan calls for applying “a racial equity framework to all new housing proposals to ensure fair geographic investment.” However, New York City’s new racial equity policies are already drawing scrutiny, especially from the federal government, as the Trump administration continues to roll back discriminatory diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs around the country. “Sounds fishy/illegal,” Harmeet Dhillon, Assistant Attorney General for the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Civil Rights Division, wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter), adding, “Will review!”

The “True Cost of Living” report, also released on Monday, found 62 percent of New Yorkers—over 5 million residents—earn less than what is needed to live in the city. Additionally, the report estimates the cost of living for a family with children at over $159,000, while the median income stands at $124,000.

Prior to his election, Mamdani suggested imposing higher taxes on “whiter” neighborhoods.

Trump Vows to Find ‘Sick’ Media Leaker Who Put Mission to Rescue Downed Pilot ‘At Great Risk.’

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: President Donald J. Trump on Monday vowed that his administration would identify the “leaker” who revealed that the U.S. military was unable to immediately rescue the second U.S. airman shot down over Iran last week.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: President Trump, the U.S. military, the corporate media, and a suspected leaker.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The comments were made during a White House press conference on Monday, April 6, 2026.

💬KEY QUOTE: “We have to find that leaker because that is a sick person; probably didn’t realize the extent of how bad it was… They put this mission at great risk.” — President Trump

🎯IMPACT: While the F-15E’s pilot was swiftly rescued in a daring daytime extraction, the downed jet’s Weapons Systems Officer (WSO) could not be located and rescued immediately.

IN FULL

President Donald J. Trump on Monday vowed that his administration would identify the “leaker” who revealed that the U.S. military was unable to immediately rescue the second pilot shot down over Iran last week. “We’re looking very hard to find that leaker,” the President said during a White House briefing discussing the successful rescue operation to extract the two U.S. airmen who were forced to eject from their F-15E deep inside Iran.

“They basically said that we have one and there’s somebody missing. Well, Iran didn’t know there was somebody missing until this leaker gave the information,” Trump revealed, adding, “We think we’ll be able to find it out, because we’re going to go to the media company that released it, and we’re going to say, ‘national security, give it up or go to jail.’”

Last Friday, it was revealed that a F-15E fighter jet was shot down over Iran, with both the pilot and the Weapons Systems Officer (WSO) ejecting from the aircraft deep inside Iranian territory. Following the downing of the jet, the Iranian regime announced a large bounty for the capture of the two U.S. airmen and dispatched a contingent of its military forces to locate them. While the F-15E’s pilot was swiftly rescued in a daring daytime extraction, the downed jet’s WSO—as revealed in a media leak—could not be located and rescued immediately.

After an extensive search, the second U.S. airman was located early Sunday morning and successfully extracted through an operation led by Navy SEAL Team 6 commandos and hundreds of special operations troops and other military personnel. The mission faced a significant challenge when two MC-130 aircraft suffered mechanical failures, risking the commandos being stranded. Commanders made the high-risk decision to send additional aircraft into Iran to extract the team in waves.

“We have to find that leaker because that is a sick person; probably didn’t realize the extent of how bad it was… They put this mission at great risk,” Trump reiterated.
