The former Governor of New Jersey, Chris Christie, is closing the gap on Ron DeSantis in the race for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination in New Hampshire, as the Governor of Florida suffers a large loss of grassroots support in the state.
Among likely New Hampshire primary voters, the poll found that support for Ron DeSantis – once considered former President Trump’s only competition – dropped by six percent from 18 to just 12 percent between May and June 2023.
Chris Christie, however, is in third with seven percent support among New Hampshire voters, now tied in with South Carolina U.S. Senator Tim Scott.
Donald Trump has increased his lead in the state by another five percent, jumping from 39 to 44 percent. He now leads DeSantis by a whopping 32 points.
