Far-left British TV journalist and commentator Mehdi Hasan has had his weekend program on MSNBC canceled by streaming service Peacock, with the network planning to expand Ayman Mohyeldin’s weekend show to two hours to replace Hasan’s show, reports suggest.
Two people familiar with the decision told Semafor that Hasan will be used as an on-camera analyst and fill-in host by the network going forward.
Hasan, 44, has come under increasing fire in recent weeks for using his weekend show and online platform to amplify his strongly anti-Israel stance following Hamas’ violent incursion into Israel in early October. His previous comments comparing non-Muslims to “cattle” and “animals” while giving lectures in British mosques have also resurfaced online following the outbreak of the conflict.
