Republicans are more likely than Democrats to say the attacks affect a lot today how patriotic Americans feel (51% vs. 29%) and national unity (35% vs. 24%)… Since Sept. 11, 2001, the U.S. has fought against the threat of terrorism through military operations abroad and increased security and surveillance inside of the U.S. About half (48%) of Americans — including 71% of Republicans and 37% of Democrats — think these actions have been worth the cost. 25% say they have not been worth the cost. 35% of Democrats and 12% of Republicans hold this view,” wrote YouGov. The poll was conducted between August 20 and August 23. A total of 1,098 U.S. citizens were surveyed for the poll. The poll has a margin of error of +/- 4.1 percent.

The series of proposals follows a number of polls putting the National Rally leader well ahead of her rivals. Earlier this month, a poll conducted by Elabe, a French polling firm, had Le Pen leading all her rivals in the first and second rounds of the upcoming presidential elections. An earlier survey by Toluna-Harris, another market research firm, showed similar results. This followed a poll from July conducted by the French Institute of Public Opinion (IFOP), which showed the far-left Jean-Luc Mélenchon and so-called centrists Phillipe and Gabriel Attal, a former prime minister aligned with President Emmanuel Macron, trailing Le Pen.
