The Biden State Department issued a “worldwide caution” alert for Americans overseas on Friday. Specifically, it noted that “LGBTQI+” individuals and “Pride” celebrations are potential targets for terrorist attacks.
“Due to the potential for terrorist attacks, demonstrations, or violent actions against U.S. citizens and interests, the Department of State advises U.S. citizens overseas to exercise increased caution,” the alert states. “The Department of State is aware of the increased potential for foreign terrorist organization-inspired violence against LGBTQI+ persons and events and advises U.S. citizens overseas to exercise increased caution,” it continues. “U.S. citizens should: Stay alert in locations frequented by tourists, including Pride celebrations and venues frequented by LGBTQI+ persons.”
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken reinforced the State Department’s communication. In a public statement, Blinken, echoing the department’s concerns, said that “LGBTQI+” individuals “continue to face insidious forms of stigma and discrimination.”
However, the State Department’s alert appears to be a tacit admission that mass Muslim migration into the West has brought with it a heightened risk of terrorism and Islamic extremism.
Countries that are hostile to LGBTQ individuals do not hold ‘Pride’ celebrations, but many Western nations that are friendly to such individuals and do hold “Pride” celebrations are also host to significant numbers of Muslim migrants with extremist views. Earlier this month, former President Donald Trump said that Europe had “opened its doors to jihad” by permitting mass Muslim migration.
