Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel announced his agents have arrested an allegedly corrupt federal government official charged with executing a scheme to defraud the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and lying to federal agents. On Wednesday, the Acting U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan announced charges against Serina Baker-Hill, a career federal employee who serves as the director of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) Center for Excellence and Expertise over Automotive and Aerospace Engineering for the alleged fraud plot.
“Following efforts with our interagency partners, I can report that a career Director level employee at US Customs and Border Protection has been charged with allegedly attempting to defraud FEMA, as well as lying to federal agents,” FBI Director Patel stated in a post on X (formerly Twitter), adding: “This is part of the new FBI’s renewed efforts to crack down on public corruption and deliver accountability for the American people. Justice will be done.”

Baker-Hill, according to the criminal complaint, filed for FEMA assistance following the 2023 floods in Detroit, Michigan. While a FEMA inspector found that the basement of Baker-Hill’s home had suffered water damage, and Baker-Hill claimed her home was unlivable while under repair, federal investigators found that the CBP official did not use the relief funds to pay for approved expenses like rent and utilities.
“According to Baker-Hill’s bank records, none of the FEMA money was used for rental, hotel, or utility expenses,” the U.S. Attorney’s office states. They add: “Video surveillance at the home showed that Baker-Hill and her husband continued to live in the home after receiving the rental assistance funds from FEMA.”
Additionally, federal prosecutors say Baker-Hill lied to FBI and CBP agents when questioned regarding the FEMA funds.

💬KEY QUOTE: “I feel like the Democrats really need to own the shutdown.” – John Fetterman
🎯IMPACT: The admission highlights internal conflict among Democrats over the strategy of shutting down the federal government to make tax subsidies permanent.

Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) admitted during a recent interview that his party bears responsibility for the ongoing federal government shutdown. Fetterman said, “I feel like the Democrats really need to own the shutdown. I mean, we’re shutting it down. I know why. They claim because they want to address the tax credits. And I fully support that.”
The current budget impasse stems from Democrats’ push to make permanent certain COVID-era tax subsidies tied to the Affordable Care Act, commonly known as Obamacare. Republicans, meanwhile, have called for the passage of a short-term continuing resolution (CR) to reopen and fund the government before addressing the dispute over the subsidies.
Fetterman, who has generally supported measures to keep the government funded, emphasized his consistent record on such votes. “I voted for all of their CRs, our CRs, every single time,” he said, warning of the consequences of a prolonged shutdown. He highlighted the risks for millions of Americans dependent on federal nutrition assistance (SNAP), noting, “We can’t be putting 42 million people who rely on food stamps in danger because of political gridlock.”
Although Fetterman said he supports extending the Obamacare healthcare subsidies, he was sharply critical of his party’s tactics, arguing that using a shutdown as leverage is hypocritical. “It was wrong when the Republicans did it. It’s wrong now that we seem to be driving it,” he said.
The Pennsylvania senator’s remarks add to his growing reputation as one of the most outspoken and unconventional voices in the Democratic Party. Over the past year, Fetterman has taken several positions that have surprised members of both parties. In October, he said he would consider backing a Republican-led effort to abolish the Senate filibuster, calling the procedural tool “a weapon for gridlock.” Fetterman has also collaborated with Republican senators on legislation aimed at curbing Chinese influence in U.S. agriculture, particularly concerning the purchase of American farmland by companies linked to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
Despite his occasional alignment with GOP priorities, Fetterman has repeatedly dismissed rumors that he might switch parties. In January, he called such speculation “amateur hour” and insisted, “It’s not gonna happen. Even if I wanted to do that, that is a rocket sled to Palookaville. I would make a pretty bad Republican.”

🎯IMPACT: The data highlights concerns over foreign nationals’ involvement in serious crimes, prompting calls for transparency and action.
IN FULL
Recent figures from the British Ministry of Justice (MOJ) show that a large proportion of foreign nationals imprisoned for sexual offences in England and Wales come from just five countries. The first analysis of prisoners’ crimes by nationality reveals that offenders from Romania, Pakistan, Poland, Ireland, and India make up 457 of the 1,731 foreign sex offenders behind bars as of June. Together, they represent around one in four of all jailed foreign sex offenders.
On a per capita basis, Bangladeshi migrants are by far the most likely to be imprisoned for sex crimes, with over 42 percent of those in British prisons convicted of sexual offenses. Kenyans are behind them at 37 percent, followed by Sudanese, Ethiopians, and Eritreans.
The total number of foreign nationals imprisoned for sex crimes has risen by 9.9 percent in the past year, compared with a 3.8 percent increase in British offenders convicted of similar offences. The data, released following a Freedom of Information request, comes amid growing public concern about serious crimes, including sexual crimes, committed by migrants, and the handling of foreign national offenders by the authorities. For instance, Ethiopian asylum seeker Hadush Kebatu, deported after being convicted of a series of sexual assaults in Essex, England, drew national attention when it was revealed that the Home Office paid him several hundred pounds to comply with his deportation order. Kebatu, whose crimes sparked anti-mass migration protests and riots, had previously been released from prison in error and let loose among the public again, leading to a national manhunt.
Other recent cases have also further fuelled public anger. In London, an Egyptian-born asylum seeker who entered the UK illegally was convicted of raping a woman in Hyde Park; he was later found to have a previous conviction in Egypt for plotting terrorist attacks. In Manchester, a Syrian who carried out a terrorist attack against a synagogue turned out to be on bail for an alleged rape when he struck.
Robert Jenrick, the Shadow Justice Secretary, remarked that the public deserves full transparency about the nationality of offenders and the Labour Party government’s management of their cases. “This is yet more evidence that migrants from some nationalities are more likely to commit certain crimes,” he said, calling for the Ministry of Justice to publish all related data.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) food benefits may end up being at least partially distributed on Monday, following a controversial order by U.S. District Court Judge John J. McConnell, Jr. of Rhode Island. Appointed to the bench by former President Barack Obama, McConnell’s ruling has drawn extensive criticism from the legal community, as well as confusion from the Trump White House, as it requires the administration to tap a small emergency reserve of around $5.25 billion to cover $8.5 billion in November SNAP benefits.
“I do not want Americans to go hungry. [I] ask the Court to clarify how we can legally fund SNAP as soon as possible. . . . If we are given the appropriate legal direction by the Court, it will BE MY HONOR to provide the funding,” President Donald J. Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social late Friday. This prompted McConnell to issue guidance over the weekend, essentially telling the administration to find the extra funds—though he acknowledged this must be done in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act. Impossibly, the judge ordered that benefits must begin processing by the end of Monday, and partial payment should be completed by Wednesday.
However, Judge McConnell’s order may not withstand further legal scrutiny from the appellate court or potentially the U.S. Supreme Court. Foremost, the ruling—which strangely takes the form of a “temporary restraining order” despite compelling an action rather than barring it—is universal in application, likely running afoul of a Supreme Court ruling earlier this year that limited such nationwide orders to only class-action lawsuits. In a footnote, the judge offers a weak defense of the order’s nationwide application, simply claiming that “a limited order would not provide complete relief.”
In addition, it appears Judge McConnell only considered the congressional appropriation aspect of the SNAP program and benefit payments during the Senate Democrat-caused government shutdown. The judge failed to consider the issue of the SNAP program itself, which is not currently in existence—in a technical sense—since its congressional authorization lapsed in 2023 and has been temporarily reauthorized through subsequent continuing resolutions (CRs). When Senate Democrats blocked the CR to temporarily fund the government on October 1, they also blocked the underlying SNAP reauthorization.
“Is there money in a contingency fund? Sure, probably. At minimum there’s $3b available through 09/2026. Maybe there’s another $3b available through 09/2027 but none of that necessarily matters,” former Senate Judiciary Committee counsel Mike Fragoso noted in a post on X (formerly Twitter). “You see, the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 was most recently reauthorized in the 2018 Farm Bill. That authorization ran out in 2023 and subsequent CRs have *carried that authorization* for their length. This means that SNAP’s authorization expired with the CR on October 1st. The program is no longer in effect, and with it this entitlement.”

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: The populist, anti-mass migration Alternative for Germany (AfD) parliamentary group initiated the analysis of Police Crime Statistics (PKS) data.
📍WHEN & WHERE: The data covers the period from 2015 to 2024 in Germany.
💬KEY QUOTE: “The number of victims is increasing – in parallel with the number of refugees.” – Focus Magazine
🎯IMPACT: The report highlights the significant rise in crime victims in Germany directly linked to the migrant crisis of 2015-16 and subsequent chain migration.
IN FULL
From 2015 to 2024, roughly 426,000 Germans fell victim to offenses carried out by suspects originating from ten key refugee-sending nations. In that timeframe, about 512,000 non-Germans were also victimized by migrants from this same group. This examination of Police Crime Statistics (PKS) comes from a parliamentary query submitted by the populist, anti-mass migration Alternative for Germany (AfD) parliamentary group.
The AfD selected ten nations for scrutiny, namely Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, Morocco, Algeria, Iran, Nigeria, Somalia, Pakistan, and Georgia, as they have contributed significant refugee populations to Germany. Through PKS data, nationals of these countries have been tallied against victims of crime.
Victim numbers have surged markedly since 2015, aligning with the influx of people from these ten countries into Germany. The fewest cases were reported in 2020 and 2021, mirroring the broader decline in crime rates during the COVID-19 pandemic. Syrians boast the most victims, with 35,668, followed by Afghanistan, with 72,190. All have over 10,000.
In terms of particular crimes, the data indicates that, for instance, Algerian nationals are accused of robbery 12,685 percent more frequently than Germans, with similarly elevated rates for Georgians (3,846 percent higher), Libyans (3,641 percent higher), and Tunisians (3,132 percent higher).

Turning Point USA (TPUSA), founded by assassinated conservative youth organizer Charlie Kirk, has disputed claims made by the Israeli government that Erika Kirk, Charlie Kirk’s widow, is set to accept an award on his behalf at the Christian Media Summit in Jerusalem this week.
The summit, organized by Israel’s Government Press Office (GPO) along with the Israeli Foreign Ministry and the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, is hosting over 100 Christian figures and includes an award ceremony recognizing participants for their “exceptional contribution” to Israeli public diplomacy worldwide, as reported by The Times of Israel.
Andrew Kolvet, a spokesman for TPUSA and executive producer of The Charlie Kirk Show, expressed surprise at the claims in a post on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “This is the first we’re hearing of this!” He further mentioned that they have reached out to the Israeli press for a correction.
Kolvet also confirmed in another post that “Erika [Kirk] will not be attending” the event.
Charlie Kirk, a longtime supporter of Israel, was experiencing some friction with the Jewish State and its supporters before his assassination. Leaked texts revealed his frustration with Jewish donors, whom he accused of “leaving me no choice but to leave the pro-Israel cause” due to alleged bullying over his management of TPUSA.

Two people have been arrested following a stabbing incident on a train heading to Huntingdon. Armed police were deployed to Huntingdon station in Cambridgeshire on Saturday evening after reports of multiple passengers being attacked. Cambridgeshire Police confirmed that officers responded at 7:39 PM after receiving reports of the stabbings.
One eyewitness told media that at least one of the suspects was a black man wearing a black mask. Around 12 people are believed to have needed medical attention. The story is developing.
The train involved was the 1825 London North Eastern Railway (LNER) service from Doncaster to London. More than 30 officers attended the scene, and several individuals were taken to the hospital. The A1307 road near Huntingdon has also been closed. An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson stated that numerous ambulances, tactical commanders, and critical care teams were dispatched to the site.
Witnesses described chaotic scenes, with one claiming to have seen a man with a large knife and “blood everywhere.” Some passengers reportedly hid in lavatories to escape, while others were trampled during the panic. Another witness told The Mirror newspaper they saw a person “hanging out the train door bleeding.”
Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the event as “deeply concerning,” expressing his thoughts for those affected and thanking the emergency services for their swift response.
Train services in the area have been severely disrupted, with LNER confirming that all lines around Huntingdon station are blocked and disruption expected to last until the end of the day.

💬KEY QUOTE: “I am humbled by these figures and promise not to let people down.” – Nigel Farage
🎯IMPACT: Farage’s Reform Party is gaining ground, with the governing Labour Party losing support to the far-left Greens, Reform, and the globalist Liberal Democrats.
IN FULL
Reform Party leader Nigel Farage has Labour Party leader Sir Keir Starmer as the public’s preferred choice for Prime Minister of the United Kingdom for the first time, according to a new Ipsos survey. The poll found that 33 percent of respondents believe Farage would make the best national leader, compared with 30 percent for Prime Minister Starmer, a sharp reversal from July, when the Labour leader held an eight-point advantage.
The results come amid a slump in support for the leftist Labour Party and a growing shift towards outsider parties such as Farage’s populist-right Reform Party and the far-left Greens. Ipsos also reported that the public now favours Reform’s policies on immigration, taxation, public services, and the economy over those of Labour or other major parties.
Reacting to the figures, Farage said: “I am humbled by these figures and promise not to let people down.” Keiran Pedley, Director of Politics at Ipsos UK, said, “Our data also shows a growing public confidence in Reform’s proposed plans for the economy and immigration, which Britons consistently rank at the top of the issues that they see as most important to them.”
The findings mark a significant setback for Labour, which a separate YouGov poll puts at just 17 percent support, its lowest level in years. That places Labour ten points behind Reform and only a single point ahead of the Greens, who, under socialist leader Zach Polanski, are drawing increasing numbers of disillusioned Labour voters.
Farage’s rise follows a series of developments that have propelled Reform, formerly the Brexit Party, to a serious electoral contender. A September poll projected that Reform could win as many as 311 seats in the House of Commons, placing it within reach of an outright majority. The party has also attracted numerous defections from the formerly governing Conservatives, including 20 local politicians who switched allegiance during the Tory conference earlier this month.
Reports have emerged that the Starmer government is now considering delaying local elections for a second time amid fears of sweeping Reform gains, a move Farage denounced as “completely outrageous.”

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced the recall of over 580,000 bottles of prazosin hydrochloride, a blood pressure medication, due to concerns over the presence of a potentially cancer-causing chemical. The medication, which is also prescribed for sleep disturbances related to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), was voluntarily recalled by New Jersey-based Teva Pharmaceuticals USA and drug distributor Amerisource Health Services.
The affected capsules, available in 1 mg, 2 mg, and 5 mg doses, were classified by the FDA as a Class II risk. According to the agency, some lots of the medication may contain nitrosamine impurities, which can form during manufacturing or storage and are considered potentially carcinogenic.
The FDA’s recall orders, posted on its website, highlight the potential risks associated with the medication. Teva Pharmaceuticals has not yet responded to requests for comment regarding the recall.
Patients who rely on prazosin hydrochloride for managing blood pressure or PTSD-related conditions are now left questioning the safety of their medication. The recall underscores broader concerns about the pharmaceutical supply chain and the need for stringent oversight in drug manufacturing and storage processes.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Texas, this week.
💬KEY QUOTE: “In Texas, we don’t want to discriminate against anybody, and what this program does is literally discriminate against those that are white.” – Kelly Hancock
🎯IMPACT: The suspension halts new certifications for businesses under the program, challenging race-based preferences in state contracts.
IN FULL
Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock has halted new and renewed certifications under the state’s Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) program, citing concerns that the initiative may discriminate on the basis of race. Established in 1991, the HUB program was designed to give businesses owned by black Americans, Hispanic Americans, Asian-Pacific Americans, Native Americans, service-disabled veterans, or women an advantage in competing for state contracts.
“In Texas, we don’t want to discriminate against anybody, and what this program does is literally discriminate against those that are white,” Hancock said. He said the suspension would allow his office to review whether the program aligns with constitutional requirements and the principles of equal treatment under the law.
Under the HUB program, nearly 300 state agencies were required to make a “good faith” effort to include certified businesses in procurement opportunities, including construction, commodities, and service contracts. As of 2025, more than 21 percent of certified firms were involved in state contracts, receiving over $4 billion in awards. Hancock said he supports fair competition but questioned the criteria used to determine eligibility. “How do we audit that somebody was economically discriminated against? How do we verify the information of somebody being economically discriminated against? It’s got to be more than just skin color,” he said. He added that contracts should be awarded “on merit rather than race or ethnicity.”
The move follows an executive order issued by Governor Greg Abbott (R) earlier this year prohibiting race- and sex-based preferences in the distribution of government benefits or opportunities. Abbott said the order was necessary to ensure equality in state hiring and contracting practices. Hancock echoed those sentiments, stating that “Texans deserve a level playing field where government contracts are earned by performance and best value—nothing more, nothing less.”
The suspension has sparked debate over the future of programs designed to support minority- and women-owned businesses. Supporters of the HUB initiative argue that it helps address historical disparities in access to public contracting, while critics, including Hancock, say such programs may violate anti-discrimination laws by excluding white-owned firms.
The issue comes amid a growing national conversation about what some describe as anti-white discrimination in institutions and government. Recent reports have highlighted several high-profile investigations and actions related to such claims, including allegations that the Harvard Law Review engaged in witness intimidation during an anti-white discrimination probe, a move by President Donald J. Trump to withdraw federal contracts from Harvard University over alleged anti-white and anti-Semitic behavior, and a Department of Justice investigation into the Chicago mayor for remarks suggesting anti-white hiring practices.
