The project includes a 30-foot bollard wall, water barriers in the Rio Grande, and integrated surveillance technology to enhance border security. Scott mentioned that while some areas, such as Big Bend National Park, will lack barriers due to natural deterrents, “basically from San Diego all the way to the Gulf” will be protected by the wall. Scott projects that construction will be completed by July 2028. He credited renewed funding from Congress, especially from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OB3), which provided $46.5 billion, as the key driver behind the wall’s projected completion. Scott also criticized the Biden government’s lack of consideration for border security and ideological support for open borders. “They literally just had a completely different perspective on the world. They didn’t see America as a place to preserve or to protect or to put first. They saw it as a place to provide freebies to other people from anywhere around the world,” said Scott.
