The Trump administration collected over $30 billion in tariff revenue in August alone, marking the highest monthly total of 2025 so far, even with data from the last three days of the month not yet factored in. According to Treasury Department figures released last week, total tariff revenue for the year has already surged past $183 billion, more than double what had been collected by this point last year.
Revenue has climbed fast in recent months, from $17.4 billion in April, to $23.9 billion in May, $28 billion in June, and $29 billion in July. At this pace, the government could match last year’s full-year tariff take in just a few months.
The surge comes as President Donald J. Trump’s trade agenda gains traction again, both economically and legally. Despite a federal appeals court ruling that said Trump overstepped by using emergency powers to impose global tariffs, the court has allowed the tariffs to stay in place through October 14. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that the Department of Justice (DOJ) is appealing the anti-tariff decision to the Supreme Court.
Trump’s tariffs, aimed at levelling the playing field for American workers against sweatshop economies and countries that price out American expoirts through tariff and non-tariff trade barriers, are already “reshoring” jobs to the United States. For instance, GE Appliances recently announced a $3 billion investment to move manufacturing from China and Mexico back to the U.S. Products like refrigerators and water heaters will now be built in states like Kentucky, Georgia, and Tennessee, bringing over 1,000 new jobs. CEO Kevin Nolan said the goal is “manufacturing close to our customers.”
The U.S. goods trade deficit has seen major improvement, narrowing from $96.4 billion in May to $86.0 billion in June, thanks to falling imports, a sign that the tariffs are working as intended.
The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) now projects Trump’s tariff policy could slash the federal deficit by $4 trillion over the next decade, including $3.3 trillion in primary deficit reduction and $700 billion in interest savings. Customs duties alone could reach $200 billion by year’s end.

A United Nations (UN) report has confirmed a dramatic shift in migration trends, with migration towards the U.S. from Venezuela down almost 100 percent. Over 14,000 migrants have abandoned their journeys north through Central America in what has been dubbed “reverse flow” migration. The transformation comes after President Donald J. Trump reinstated strict border enforcement policies, resulting in record-low illegal crossings.
The report, compiled by the governments of Colombia, Panama, and Costa Rica with support from the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, shows that migration from Venezuela toward the U.S. has dropped by a staggering 97 percent. Migrants cited tougher U.S. policies (46 percent) and being unable to cross the border (49 percent) as their main reasons for turning back. Others mentioned running out of money (34 percent) or fear of detention and deportation (17 percent).
“It’s time to go back—the American dream wasn’t like this,” complained one migrant quoted in the report.
“The world is hearing our message that America’s borders are closed to lawbreakers,” commented Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin, pointing to a near halt in crossings through Panama’s treacherous Darién Gap. In June, just 10 migrants reportedly made the journey, down from over 500,000 in 2023.
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data for May 2025 also show a 93 percent decrease in illegal crossings compared to the same month last year. Only 8,725 encounters were recorded, with zero migrants paroled into the U.S., compared to over 62,000 releases in May 2024. Border Czar Tom Homan has previously highlighted that releases have dropped by 99.99 percent compared to the Biden era.

Daniel “Dani” Senecal, a 25-year-old man who recently began identifying as transgender, has been charged in connection with a serious assault on a girl in Ontario, Canada. Authorities responded to a call for medical assistance in the city of Welland early Sunday morning. They found a young child suffering from injuries that required urgent medical attention. The five-year-old girl is now reported to be in stable condition.
During the investigation, police discovered evidence of a break-in at the victim’s home. Reports indicate that the girl’s parents woke up to the horrifying realization that their daughter had been assaulted overnight. Surveillance footage from a witness helped law enforcement identify Senecal as the suspect, leading to his arrest. He now faces multiple charges, including aggravated sexual assault on a child, sexual interference with a child, assault, assault by choking, and breaking and entering.
Notably, Canadianmedia reports that Senecal had previously been convicted of sexually assaulting a young boy in the same area. However, he received just 18 months in prison, and was released in March, six months early. The mother of this earlier victim expressed deep frustration over the system’s failure to impose a meaningful punishment, saying, “I feel like I failed to get him locked up longer. The fact that the justice system did not do more makes me hurt.”
The case is just one of many involving transgenders accused, charged, or convicted of child sexual abuse. In January, for instance, three men identifying as women were accused of gang raping a girl at a local Pride festival that took place in 2024 in Bergen, Norway.
Last month, a transgender illegal immigrant who was let into the U.S. under the former Biden regime in 2023 was also charged with child rape. Nicol Alexandra Contreras-Suarez, a Colombian transgender, faces first-degree rape of a minor under 17 charges, along with other charges.

Despite her claims, Trump’s deployment of the National Guard and federal law enforcement has clearly curtailed crime in D.C., with even Mayor Muriel Bowser, a Democrat, acknowledging, “We know that when carjackings go down, when the use of guns goes down, when homicide or robbery go down, neighborhoods feel safer and are safer,” specifically noting an “87 percent reduction in carjackings” since Trump’s takeover.
President Trump has invoked Section 740 of the D.C. A Tunisian migrant was shot and killed by French police in Marseille on September 2 after stabbing several people in a violent attack that began with a dispute at a hotel. According to Marseille prosecutor Nicolas Bessone, five people were injured in the stabbing spree, including one who remains in critical condition. Authorities said the man began the attack after an argument with a downtown hotel owner over unpaid room charges.
“A man of Tunisian nationality, in a legal situation, had been evicted from the Amira hotel in which he was staying in the Belsunce district, because he did not pay his rent,” Prosecutor Bessone said and added that the man appeared to strike people at random.
During the confrontation, the suspect reportedly recited verses from the Islamic Quran. Police initially attempted to use a taser to subdue him, but when he failed to submit and continued to pose a threat, they resorted to lethal force. French newspaper Le Figaro noted that the suspect had previously been under judicial supervision, which prohibited him from possessing weapons. Meanwhile, Le Parisien noted that local intelligence services had flagged the man for making anti-Semitic remarks.
The stabbing spree has raised fresh concerns over public safety and national security across Europe, where a pattern of violent stabbings involving migrants and second-generation citizens born to migrant parents has emerged in recent years. For instance, in May 2025, twelve people were wounded, several critically, when a female suspect carried out a mass stabbing at Hamburg Central Station in Germany.
Other high-profile cases include a February 2025 stabbing in Villach, Austria, where a 23-year-old Syrian man killed a 14-year-old boy and injured five others. Authorities later discovered an Islamic State flag and a recorded pledge of allegiance to the jihadist group in the suspect’s apartment. In January 2025, an Afghan asylum seeker in Aschaffenburg, Germany, attacked a kindergarten group, killing one child and injuring several others, including a teacher and two passersby. That suspect had a criminal history and had previously been ordered deported.
In August 2024, three people were killed and eight wounded in Solingen, Germany, when a Syrian carried out a stabbing attack during a city festival. Authorities linked the attack to radical Islamist motives. Earlier, in January 2023, a stateless refugee originally from Gaza stabbed passengers aboard a regional train in Brokstedt, Germany, killing two people and injuring six more.
