recognized by Manchester United and has collaborated with it on building prayer facilities and organizing Islamic iftar events, has called for Ratcliffe to step down, citing his remarks that Britain has been
“colonised” by immigrants and is “on the slide.” Speaking for MUMSC, Haydar
told local media Ratcliffe’s remarks were “inflammatory” and “divisive.” However,
Haydar himself has a history of running down Britain and describing the British people as “colonisers” even in their own home islands. Posting on X (formerly Twitter) in 2023, he
said, “Britain…

We’re not going anywhere.” In 2019, he
wrote: “I’m astonished at how heritage Muslims have internalised these issues & can not (or will not) understand matters of race. Your experience although subjective are widespread. To deny it isn’t as a result of
internalised love for white / superior is ludicrous.” In 2018, he
criticized British counter-terrorism police for posting an Eid greeting that also asked people to report suspicious activity, arguing it linked Muslims and Islam to
terrorism “when no such stats linking the 2 exists” and suggesting they should be concerned with England supporters beating their wives and girlfriends after football matches. In a 2017
post on Facebook, he bizarrely denigrated British people living in Britain as “colonisers,” telling fellow Muslims: “In years to come, future generations of Muslims living in Britain will look through the annals of history and examine previous generations… Be the resilient decolonised change maker.
Do not internalise and perpetuate the narrative of the coloniser.” He also objected to British drone strikes targeting Islamic State fighters in 2015, complaining, “Rule of law? Due process? Extrajudicial killings? British Values?” One of the jihadists targeted was Cardiff-born Reyaad Khan, who had been
directing terror plots against Britain.
