David Daleiden, the project lead of the Center for Medical Progress (CMP), the organization that filmed the Planned Parenthood videos and exposed the abortion behemoth’s inhumane business practice of harvesting baby body parts for profit, has been charged by a California prosecutor with 15 felony counts for his historic feat of citizen journalism. He faces up to 15 years in prison.
The man is a hero. It would be extremely disappointing if, after risking his very freedom, President Trump and GOP leadership let Daleiden down by failing to redirect funds away from Planned Parenthood.
Daleiden responded to the ridiculous charges via the CMP’s website:
The bogus charges from Planned Parenthood’s political cronies are fake news. They tried the same collusion with corrupt officials in Houston, TX and failed: both the charges and the DA were thrown out. The public knows the real criminals are Planned Parenthood and their business partners like StemExpress and DV Biologics—currently being prosecuted in California—who have harvested and sold aborted baby body parts for profit for years in direct violation of state and federal law. We look forward to showing the entire world what is on our yet-unreleased video tapes of Planned Parenthood’s criminal baby body parts enterprise, in vindication of the First Amendment rights of all.
Make no mistake — if David Daleiden was an animal rights activist and had used the same journalistic techniques to expose the mistreatment of animals in a slaughterhouse, he would be lauded as a hero by the media and be a darling of the American Left.
His exposés have given impetus to the movement to redirect Planned Parenthood funding to the much more numerous Community Health Centers that focus on health, not death. The timing of the California indictments against Daleiden could not be more poignant as Congress struggles to move past last week’s disappointing withdrawal of the reconciliation bill that would have both redirected funds away from Planned Parenthood and repealed and replaced Obamacare.
Redirecting funding away from Planned Parenthood was a direct promise from the President of the United States and from the GOP leadership of both the House and Senate. The path to do this through reconciliation is wide open and requires only the will of GOP leadership to do what’s right and get this done.

David Daleiden risked being imprisoned for 15 years in order to give the Congress the evidence it needs to justify redirecting funds away from Planned Parenthood. It would be a horrible breach of trust for President Trump and GOP leadership not to deliver on their promise as Daleiden awaits trial.
