Maricopa County SUED For Ignoring Election Laws.

American First Legal has filed a lawsuit against Maricopa County, Arizona, for continuing to violate state election law. The conservative legal group — led by Stephen Miller, a long-time adviser to former President Donald Trump — alleges that the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors and the County Recorder failed to lawfully administer elections for years. The lawsuit asks the Arizona State Superior Court in Maricopa County to issue several legal orders requiring the county government to comply with election statutes in future elections.

During the 2022 mid-term elections, numerous irregularities with how the administration of the county election were documented. The plaintiffs allege county officials failed to maintain the mandatory chain of custody for ballots. This resulted in a discrepancy of over 25,000 votes. Razor-thin margins decided several 2022 state-wide races. The gubernatorial contest saw just 17,117 votes separate now Governor Kaite Hobbs (D) from Kari Lake (R).

One of the most well-documented allegations the lawsuit levels is that the county recorder ignored state law ballot verification procedures. The statute requires ‘human’ election officials to match signatures on early ballots with the respective voter registration record. An AI program was used to verify ballot signatures during the 2022 election. Officials say they intend to use it again in 2024. County officials also face accusations of ignoring mandatory reconciliation procedures to track each ballot printed or issued to a voter.

“The legitimacy of our government relies on the people’s trust that elections are free and fair. Maricopa County’s errors, lapses, and mistakes in administering elections have seriously eroded that trust,” America First Legal counsel James Rogers said in a statement. He added: “This lawsuit seeks to hold Maricopa County accountable for its failures and to restore Arizonans’ trust in their elections.”

DATA: Texas Would Flip Democrat If Haley Were Nominee.

A new poll shows former President Donald Trump continues to hold widespread support in Texas, running 11 points ahead of President Joe Biden. However, if former South Carolina Governor Nimarata ‘Nikki’ Haley were to overcome nearly insurmountable odds and win the Republican presidential nomination, she’d lose the state to Biden. A Democrat presidential nominee has not won Texas since 1976, when Jimmy Carter carried the state over President Gerald Ford.

Texas voters, by a wide margin, believe former President Donald Trump has the best chance of defeating President Joe Biden in November, according to the Redfield & Wilton Strategies survey — with 47 percent saying Trump to Haley’s 19 percent. Among 2020 Trump voters, 75 percent said he was the stronger candidate, compared to just 11 percent naming Haley.

Nearly 70 percent of Texas voters believe the border state is facing an illegal immigration crisis. Among former President Donald Trump’s political base in the state, the number rises to nearly 90 percent. Almost 60 percent of respondents said the Biden government does not have control over the U.S. border with Mexico.

The ongoing invasion of illegal immigrants at the southern border has contributed, in large part, to President Biden’s low approval ratings across the country. Biden’s ratings are underwater in Texas, with a -17 percent net approval. Meanwhile, Texas Governor Greg Abbott — who continues efforts to secure the border in defiance of the Biden government and U.S. Supreme Court — has a net 6 percent approval rating.

DATA: Trump Leads Biden by 10 Points Amongst Independents.

A new poll by SurveyUSA shows former President Donald Trump leading Joe Biden by 10 points amongst independent voters, 48 percent to 38 percent.

The survey of over 1,000 general election voters also shows Trump with an overall lead of 5 points against Biden, 49 percent to 44 percent. Although both candidates were found to have a net negative favorability rating, Trump remains far more popular than Biden, with a net favorability of -6 percent to Biden’s -16 percent.

The poll suggests that Trump is maintaining his substantial lead over Biden with independents despite the efforts of the regime to portray Trump as a threat to democracy and Nimarata ‘Nikki’ Haley’s ongoing spoiler campaign.

In addition to his unpopularity with independent voters, Biden also continues to hemorrhage support amongst blacks and Hispanics.

A Gallup poll released Wednesday found that Biden’s lead among black voters is the lowest it has been since 1999, while Hispanic support for the Democrat is the lowest for a Democratic presidential candidate since 2011.

Haley Humiliated After Finishing Behind ‘None of These Candidates’ Option in Nevada.

Nimarata ‘Nikki’ Haley came a distant second to the “none of these candidates” option in the Nevada primary. Over 60 percent of Republicans rejected the entire slate — which did not include Donald Trump — while only 33.2 percent backed Haley.

Trump opted not to participate in the state-run, Democrat-mandated primary, which is not recognized by the Nevada Republican Party and awards no delegates. He is instead focusing on the official party caucus set for Thursday, which does award delegates.

Haley had complained the caucus is “rigged for Trump” — but the fact she lost the unrecognized primary to a “none of the above” option, despite running essentially unopposed, suggests her campaign has had deeper issues connecting with Silver State conservatives.

“A bad night for Nikki Haley,” Trump said of the primary results in a Truth Social post. “Losing by almost 30 points in Nevada to ‘None of These Candidates’. Watch, she’ll soon claim victory!” he added, likely referring to the fact Haley claimed the Republican primary was “a two-person race” after the Iowa caucus, despite coming in third behind Ron DeSantis.

DATA: Trump’s ‘MAGA Inc’ PAC Spent More Efficiently *AND* Effectively Than All Its Opponents.

Campaign finance data shows that Make America Great Again Inc. (MAGA Inc.) was far more efficient in its fundraising efforts and deployment of resources than both the pro-DeSantis Never Back Down Super PAC and the pro-Haley SFA Fund in the second half of 2023. The MAGA Inc. Super PAC, which is supporting former President Donald Trump’s bid to retake the White House, spent less than a quarter of what Never Back Down did on fundraising efforts while simultaneously raising over three times more in donations.

Likewise, the pro-Trump Super PAC spent nearly $20 million less on independent expenditures than Haley’s SFA Fund. Despite the SFA Fund’s large pro-Haley ad buys in Iowa and New Hampshire, Trump won both Republican primary contests by historic numbers, with Haley finishing in a distant third and second place, respectively.

The data also confirms claims that DeSantis’s Never Back Down operation squandered millions of donor dollars on consultants and operational costs — with only a fraction of its massive budget spent on actual campaign efforts. Despite boasting a $130 million budget in the spring of 2023, Never Back Down spent $81.1 million on operating expenditures while only raising an additional $14.5 million in the second half of 2023. The Super PAC’s chief strategist, Jeff Roe, and his consulting firm, Axiom Strategies, were amongst the primary beneficiaries of the high operational spending.

While Super PACs are not legally allowed to coordinate with a candidate’s campaign committee, they can fund independent expenditures in support of their preferred candidate. This support has traditionally come in the form of television and radio ads, campaign mailers, and phone banks. Haley’s SFA Fund spent $61 million on independent expenditures in 2023, while MAGA Inc. and Never Back Down spent $43.8 million and $36.8 million, respectively.

MAGA Inc. finished 2023 with $23.2 million in cash on hand — nearly $10 million more than Never Back Down and $20 million more than the pro-Haley SFA Fund.

Nikki Haley Wants Secret Service Protection.

Former Governor of South Carolina Nimarata ‘Nikki’ Haley has officially requested that the federal government provide Secret Service protection as she continues her campaign for the Republican presidential nomination. Haley said she made the request after her campaign received an uptick in threats against her.

“We’ve had multiple issues,” Haley told The Wall Street Journal on Monday, adding: “It’s not going to stop me from doing what I need to do.” Neither Haley nor her provided any specific details regarding the threats she received.

Secret Service protection is often extended to presidential and vice-presidential candidates when it is determined necessary by the Department of Homeland Security. While protection for candidates is usually granted within 120 days of the presidential election, exceptions are made — usually by order of the President of the United States.

While former President Donald Trump is seen as the presumptive Republican presidential nominee — having won Iowa and New Hampshire in landslides last month — Haley has said she will continue her primary challenge through at least Super Tuesday on March 5th.

At a campaign event last week in South Carolina, Haley’s private security detail tackled a woman who attempted to rush the stage where the candidate was speaking. Haley was also the victim of a swatting incident where local police were falsely called to her home by an unidentified individual. Additionally, her outspoken support for Israel has drawn pro-Hamas protests at campaign events.

“When you do something like this, you get threats,” Haley said at a recent news conference when asked about the threats. “It’s just the reality.”

REPORT: Biden ‘Struggled’ With Boba Tea’s Plastic Lid During Recent Vegas Trip.

President Joe Biden “struggled” with the basic task of using a straw to puncture the plastic film lid of a “boba” or bubble tea drink during a campaign stop in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Monday. According to White House pool reporter Nicholas Nehamas of the New York Times, the 81-year-old Biden required assistance from the shop’s cashier after he was unable to push the straw through his cup’s plastic cover.

From the POLITICO newsletter.

The videos posted by the media following Biden all clip from the moment he orders to the moment he walks out with the drink in hand, apparently editing out the “struggle” and ensuring assistance.

The bubble tea incident came just a day after Biden confused current French President Emmanuel Macron with François Mitterrand, who served as president from 1981 to 1995. Speaking to supporters in Las Vegas on Sunday, Biden claimed he had spoken with Mitterrand at the recent G7 summit, stating: “I sat down and I said, ‘America is back,’ and Mitterand from Germany, I mean France, looked at me, and said, said, ‘You know, why, how long you back for?’” Mitterrand, a staunch French socialist, died in 1996.

Concerns about Biden’s age and mental competency likely contributed to his plummeting approval numbers over the last year. While speaking during the annual White House turkey pardoning past November, which coincided with his 81st birthday, Biden confused musical entertainers Taylor Swift and Britney Spears. A month earlier, in a now infamous moment, while returning from a trip to Israel, Biden struggled to form a complete thought while speaking with reporters on Air Force One. At one point, he simply stared at the reporters for an extended period without saying anything.

Trump’s Economic Lead Over Biden Is Widest in History.

The lead Donald Trump holds over Joe Biden in terms of who would handle the economy better is the biggest of any candidate in the history of NBC polling.

The network, which began asking voters which candidate for the presidency would handle the economy better in 1992, found that 55 percent of voters believed that Trump would do the better job, compared to just 33 percent who put their faith in Biden.

Forty-eight percent also rated Trump as more likely to be competent and effective, against just 37 percent for Biden. In 2020, Biden led Trump on this measure by nine points, but his advantage has evaporated now voters have seen him in action in the White House.

The 81-year-old Democrat’s approval rating currently sits at 37 percent, lower than at any point in either his presidency or his predecessor’s.

Trump now leads Biden in all seven swing states, by margins as high as ten percent in North Carolina and eight percent in Nevada and Georgia — both officially won by Biden in 2020.

REPORT: DeSantis Hid In The Back of Campaign Bus, Feared Being ‘Spied On’ By His Own Super PAC.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis reportedly hid in the back of his own political action committee’s campaign bus, fearing that same committee was spying on his actions as fractures grew between his campaign proper and the “Never Back Down” arms-length operation.

In a devastating new report by writer Marc Caputo, DeSantis’s campaign is revealed to have been at odds with itself and his PAC from day one, with major blowups over their infamous failed launch, state-level strategies, and staffing issues.

“DeSantis was so concerned he was being spied on by Never Back Down staff that he would try to isolate himself in the back of the super PAC’s bus during swings through Iowa,” wrote Caputo in a lengthy telling of DeSantis’s short-lived campaign tale.

“This should be a course they teach at Harvard over how not to lead an organization. The super PAC can’t coordinate with the campaign. And the super PAC was micromanaged in a weirdly opaque way,” one source told Caputo.

Another stand-out moment in the article describes the tensions between the campaign and the PAC:

It was a constant power struggle from the jump: The DeSantis operation in Tallahassee pitted against Roe’s Axiom team in Atlanta. The Tallahassee crew thought the professional consultants were pretend experts who masked fecklessness with data and jargon, while Atlanta thought Tallahassee exemplified a Dunning–Kruger effect of inexperienced rubes overestimating their abilities.

Haley Trashes Nevada, Calls Caucus ‘Rigged for Trump.’

Nimarata ‘Nikki’ Haley’s campaign is working to downplay the fact they cannot win a single delegate in the Nevada Republican presidential nomination contest. Haley opted last year to appear on the state-run primary ballot, which the Nevada Republican Party does not recognize. On the other hand, former President Donald Trump will compete in the Republican Party-run Nevada Caucus, which will allocate delegates for this summer’s Republican National Convention.

“We have not spent a dime nor an ounce of energy on Nevada,” said Haley campaign manager Betsy Ankney earlier today, adding:  “We made the decision early on that we were not going to pay $55,000 to a Trump entity to participate in a process that was rigged for Trump.” Despite the Haley campaign spin, the Trump campaign was not the reason why the Nevada Republican Party moved the nomination contest to a caucus instead of participating in the state-run primary.

In 2021, Democrat lawmakers in the Nevada state legislature codified a state-run primary into law. However, they did not require state parties to allocate convention delegates based on the primary results. Nevada Republicans, concerned about election integrity following the 2020 election, moved to hold a separate caucus to determine who would be awarded the state’s 26 Republican convention delegates. Unlike the state government-run primary, the Nevada Republican Caucus requires paper ballots, same-day voting, and Voter ID.

While all indications point to former President Donald Trump handily winning the caucus, Haley may face stiff competition from the “none of these candidates” option, which will appear on the state-run primary ballot.
