LAS VEGAS, Nevada — In a decisive victory on Thursday, former President Donald Trump secured the Nevada caucuses, his fourth major win in his efforts towards obtaining the GOP nomination.
In 2021, Nevada switched from caucuses to primaries due to changes in legislation, however, the state’s Republican Party opted for a standalone caucus where candidates could only compete in either the caucus or the primary, with delegates being awarded only in the former.
The Nevada caucus victory saw Trump winning all 26 of Nevada’s GOP delegates. The next stage is the South Carolina primary, where recent polling suggests that Nikki Haley lags considerably behind Trump.
