ABC ‘Stars’ Muir and Stephanopoulos Rejected for Top Trump Interview.

PULSE POINTS:

What Happened: ABC News has opted not to use prominent anchors David Muir and George Stephanopoulos for an upcoming interview with President Donald J. Trump due to their contentious pasts with him.

👥 Who’s Involved: David Muir, George Stephanopoulos, Donald Trump, and Terry Moran.

📍 Where & When: ABC News, the United States, reported on April 29, 2025.

💬 Key Quote: A source expressed surprise, stating, “It’s nuts that it’s not Muir.”

⚠️ Impact: The decision highlights tensions between ABC and its anchors, as well as continued political and legal confrontations involving Trump.

IN FULL:

ABC News’ major “stars,” David Muir and George Stephanopoulos, have been sidelined from interviewing President Donald J. Trump. This comes after the pair had major disputes with the President, including a multi-million dollar defamation suit.

Instead, the network plans for Terry Moran, a senior national correspondent, to handle the primetime engagement. The move, according to sources, aims to sidestep heated histories and any accompanying drama.

Muir, known for his role on World News Tonight, previously engaged in a partisan pushback against Trump during a presidential debate where he and Linsey Davis attempted to aggressively fact-check the America First leader. Accusations that Muir was unbalanced in questioning emerged, as the pair did not engage in the same hostile pushback against Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. This led Trump to label the debate as unfair and dismiss the partisan “fact-checking” as “fake news.”

Stephanopoulos, a former Bill Clinton staffer, also faced tension with Trump following erroneous comments claiming Trump had been found civilly liable for “raping” writer E. Jean Carroll. This led to a defamation lawsuit, which was settled last year when ABC contributed $15 million toward Trump’s presidential library and paid an additional million in legal fees. This settlement reportedly irritated Stephanopoulos, contributing to the decision to exclude him from the interview.

The upcoming interview marks the end of Trump’s first 100 days in his second term. During this time, the administration has enacted dozens of executive orders and tariffs on dozens of countries and slowed illegal border crossings to a crawl.

Gabbard Announces Prosecution Referrals for Intel Leakers Undermining Trump.

PULSE POINTS:

What Happened: Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard stated that several intelligence leakers have been referred for criminal prosecution.

👥 Who’s Involved: Tulsi Gabbard, unnamed intelligence officials, Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

📍 Where & When: Washington, D.C., April 25.

💬 Key Quote: “We have referred them now to the Department of Justice and the FBI for an official criminal investigation, because these are crimes and people need to be held accountable to put a stop to this.” — Tulsi Gabbard.

⚠️ Impact: The potential prosecutions could discourage further leakers seeking to undermine President Trump’s agenda.

IN FULL:

Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard has announced that several members of the intelligence community suspected of leaking information to the mainstream media have been referred for prosecution. According to Gabbard, the officials purposely attempted to undermine President Donald J. Trump.

“We conducted our own internal investigation. We have referred them now to the Department of Justice and the FBI for an official criminal investigation, because these are crimes and people need to be held accountable to put a stop to this,” Gabbard said on April 25.

She went on to add that the American people voted for President Trump to put an end to the weaponization of intelligence that has undermined trust in intelligence agencies among the American public. Gabbard said the leaks were selective and were sent to “friends in the propaganda media that twisted, manipulated intelligence directly to undermine the president’s policies and his aggressive work to keep the American people safe.”

The DNI did not reveal any names of suspects being referred to prosecutors, but added that additional intelligence community members were also being investigated. She did, however, name the New York Times, Washington Post, and Huffington Post as outlets that received information from the leakers.

Since becoming DNI, Gabbard has cracked down on misbehaviour among intelligence officials, including sacking over 100 members of the NSA over their involvement in sexually explicit chat rooms in February.

Chris Cuomo Says His On-Screen Bromance With Don Lemon Was an Act Demanded By His Bosses.

PULSE POINTS:

What Happened: Chris Cuomo revealed that his on-air friendship with Don Lemon was orchestrated, and the two are no longer on good terms.

👥 Who’s Involved: Chris Cuomo, Don Lemon, former CNN executive Jeff Zucker.

📍 Where & When: Statements made on Patrick Bet-David’s podcast in April 2025.

💬 Key Quote: “I am a loyalty guy… that’s the end of the analysis for me… You’re ride or die, or you’re not.” — Chris Cuomo.

⚠️ Impact: The disclosure adds to the turmoil at CNN following the departures of both Zucker and Lemon, and highlights Cuomo’s ongoing legal battle with the network.

IN FULL:

Chris Cuomo, now hosting on NewsNation, has disclosed that his previous camaraderie with Don Lemon at CNN was a ruse, arranged under the directive of former executive Jeff Zucker. This revelation was made during a conversation on Patrick Bet-David’s podcast, unveiling that the banter between the duo was an effort to bolster Lemon’s segment start.

Cuomo was terminated from CNN in 2021 over his involvement in defending his brother, former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, during a sexual harassment investigation. He later noted the dissolution of his personal and professional rapport with Lemon. Cuomo expressed disappointment that Lemon did not support him following his departure from CNN, leading to a strained relationship that Cuomo asserted was never genuine to begin with.

The nightly exchange between Cuomo and Lemon, which extended to a collaborative podcast and tour, was suggested by Zucker to control the initial segments of Lemon’s show. Zucker was noted by Cuomo to have strong ties with Lemon, aiding his prominence at the network. “Zucker’s best friend is Don Lemon’s best friend—who’s his agent—so, they had a real bond,” Cuomo said.

Speaking to potential future projects with Lemon, Cuomo dismissed the possibility. “Why would I do it?” Cuomo said. “You think he’s going to apologize to me? I am a loyalty guy… that’s the end of the analysis for me… You’re ride or die, or you’re not.”

In a legal context, Cuomo is litigating against CNN for over $100 million, alleging defamation by his colleagues post-firing. The lawsuit accuses CNN of contractual violations by enabling public criticisms that maligned his reputation.

Following these upheavals, both Zucker and Lemon have exited CNN. Zucker stepped down due to an undisclosed relationship with a network executive, while Lemon faced dismissal over alleged inappropriate behavior.

Larry David Lashes Out at Bill Maher in Tired, ‘Trump’s a Nazi’ NYT Op-Ed.

PULSE POINTS:

❓What Happened: Larry David, creator of “Seinfeld” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” satirized Bill Maher’s recent dinner with Donald Trump in a New York Times op-ed titled “My Dinner With Adolf.”

👥 Who’s Involved: Larry David, Bill Maher, and Donald Trump.

📍 Where & When: The op-ed was published in the New York Times, and Maher’s comments were made during an April episode of “Real Time With Bill Maher.”

💬 Key Quote: Larry David wrote, “Suddenly he seemed so human… this private Hitler was a completely different animal.”

⚠️ Impact: None, to be honest.

IN FULL:

In a satirical op-ed titled “My Dinner With Adolf,” Larry David, known for his work on Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm, openly critiqued Bill Maher’s recent dinner with President Donald J. Trump. The op-ed, featured in the New York Times, uses hypothetical historical context to analogize Maher’s encounter.

The piece riffs on Maher’s April discussion about his dinner with Trump. During his show “Real Time With Bill Maher,” Maher noted his unexpected experience with Trump, including the fact that he laughed during their interaction. David’s piece draws a tired and played-out parallel, imagining a dinner with Adolf Hitler in 1939, where he observed a different, more human side of the public figure.

The likely unrecognized irony of David’s piece, however, is that the New York Times itself once uncritically published excerpts from Hitler’s Mein Kampf in 1941. David made no mention of this in his piece:

Two hours later, the dinner was over, and the Führer escorted me to the door. “I am so glad to have met you. I hope I’m no longer the monster you thought I was.” “I must say, mein Führer, I’m so thankful I came. Although we disagree on many issues, it doesn’t mean that we have to hate each other.” And with that, I gave him a Nazi salute and walked out into the night.

The piece is unlikely to change Maher’s mind, though David happily shared a stage with Trump during a 2015 episode of Saturday Night Live.

Wikipedia Escalates Attacks on J.D. Vance With Nearly 1,000 ‘Edits’ to His Page.

PULSE POINTS:

What Happened: Wikipedia editors extensively revised Vice President J.D. Vance’s page during the 2024 presidential campaign and its aftermath, significantly increasing negative content.

👥 Who’s Involved: Vice President J.D. Vance, Wikipedia editors, President Donald J. Trump, MRC Free Speech America, and various media outlets.

📍 Where & When: United States, particularly Ohio; focus periods include Vance’s campaign announcements in 2021 and 2024.

💬 Key Quote: “Wikipedia editors flooded Vance’s page with 883 edits during the GOP vice presidential sweepstakes in the lead-up to Vance’s debut at the Republican National Convention—far more activity than the mere 500 edits made in a five-year span from March 2017 through May 2022,” the MRC report notes.

⚠️ Impact: During critical political phases, Vance’s public image was reshaped with heightened negativity.

IN FULL:

A recent examination of edits made to the Wikipedia page for Vice President J.D. Vance reveals that the online, open-source encyclopedia’s editors made substantial edits amplifying negative content during and after his selection as President Donald J. Trump‘s running mate. The research, published by MRC Free Speech America, found that in the months leading up to Vance being tapped as Trump’s vice presidential nominee at the 2024 Republican National Convention (RNC), his Wikipedia page saw nearly double the number of edits made compared to the cumulative total over the five years prior.

“Wikipedia editors flooded Vance’s page with 883 edits during the GOP vice presidential sweepstakes in the lead-up to Vance’s debut at the Republican National Convention—far more activity than the mere 500 edits made in a five-year span from March 2017 through May 2022—signaling a clear attempt to negatively reshape his public image,” MRC states, noting: “This mass editing began soon after legacy media floated Vance as a possible Trump running mate.”

The edits made to Vance’s entry on the free online encyclopedia almost uniformly use partisan-style talking points to highlight allegedly negative aspects of the Vice President’s background. Instead of a viewpoint-neutral source of information on Vance, his Wikipedia page essentially became a dumping point for Democratic Party talking points and opposition research. This effectively allowed the corporate media to use Wikipedia’s perceived ‘legitimacy’ as a fig leaf to cover their laundering of a partisan Democrat narrative.

Despite Vance having on multiple occasions stated his opinion of President Trump had changed significantly after 2016, Wikipedia editors altered the Vice President’s page to amplify his nearly decade-old criticisms of the America First leader while downplaying his subsequent support for Trump’s policies and leadership. The edits, mostly occurring before Vance was formally announced as the vice presidential nominee, appear to have been intended to undermine his chances of being named as Trump’s running mate.

Additionally, the editors are accused of presenting Vance’s nonprofit work regarding the opioid crisis in a negative light, suggesting ties to Big Pharma. This was further compounded by contentious portrayals of his acclaimed book Hillbilly Elegy, which Wikipedia did not emphasize prior to his entry into national politics.

The findings published by MRC mirror a pattern found with other Trump administration officials. Previously, the media watchdog group found that Wikipedia editors made similar partisan interventions with the page entries for Pete Hegseth, Tulsi Gabbard, and Kash Patel. The National Pulse previously reported that Wikipedia’s cofounder, Larry Sanger, warned that the massive open-source online encyclopedia is likely ideologically corrupted due to the efforts of its former chief executive, Katherine Maher. Maher led the Wikimedia Foundation, which oversees the online resource, before she was hired as the CEO of NPR.

Brendan Carr Warns Comcast Against Biased Reporting on Deported MS-13 Gang Member.

PULSE POINTS:

What Happened:  Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Brendan Carr is accusing the multinational mass media corporation Comcast—which owns NBC News, CNBC, and MSNBC among other media properties—of “news distortion” regarding coverage of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an illegal immigrant and MS-13 gang member deported by the Trump administration.

👥 Who’s Involved: Brendan Carr, Comcast, Kilmar Abrego Garcia, and White House Director of Communications Steven Cheung.

📍 Where & When: The FCC Chairman leveled the accusation in a post on X (formerly Twitter) late Wednesday after MSNBC refused to provide live coverage of a White House press briefing featuring angel mom Patty Morin.

💬 Key Quote: “Comcast outlets spent days misleading the American public—implying that Abrego Garcia was merely a law-abiding U.S. citizen, just a regular ‘Maryland man,'” Carr wrote, adding: “Comcast knows that federal law requires its licensed operations to serve the public interest. News distortion doesn’t cut it.”

⚠️ Impact: The accusations have rekindled tensions over media responsibility, prompted criticism from former Trump officials, and have implications for Comcast’s future operations, particularly regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs and potential mergers.

IN FULL:

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Brendan Carr accused Comcast of misleading the public through its coverage concerning the deportation of the illegal immigrant and MS-13 gang member, Kilmar Abrego Garcia. The corporate media has attempted to present Abrego Garcia in a sympathetic light, labeling him a “Maryland father”  and “Maryland resident,” while ignoring the El Salvadoran national’s dubious history and affiliation with MS-13.

“Comcast outlets spent days misleading the American public—implying that Abrego Garcia was merely a law-abiding U.S. citizen, just a regular ‘Maryland man.’ When the truth comes out, they ignore it,” Carr wrote on X (formerly Twitter) late Wednesday. He continued: “Comcast knows that federal law requires its licensed operations to serve the public interest. News distortion doesn’t cut it.”

“Abrego Garcia came to America illegally from El Salvador, was validated as a member of the violent MS-13 gang—a transnational criminal organization—and was denied bond by an immigration court for failure to show he would not pose a danger to others,” the FCC Chairman stated, adding: “Why does Comcast ignore these facts of obvious public interest?”

Carr’s comments were in response to a post by White House Communications Director Steven Cheung that noted MSNBC and CNN declined to carry a White House press conference where angel mom Patty Morin spoke on the horrific details of her daughter Rachel Morin’s rape and murder at the hands of Victor Martinez-Hernandez, an illegal immigrant and fugitive from El Salvador. The corporate media have repeatedly attempted to downplay reports of crimes committed by illegal immigrants, a fact emphasized by Vice President J.D. Vance last October during an exchange with ABC journalist Martha Raddatz.

Notably, the FCC website states that, while its authority over allegations of news distortion is relatively narrow, the regulatory agency can investigate a media network if there is “evidence showing that the broadcast news report was deliberately intended to mislead viewers or listeners.”

CNN’s Kaitlan Collins Still Gets Oval Office Access, Despite Trashing the Admin All Day.

PULSE POINTS:

What Happened: President Donald J. Trump and Salvadoran President Bukele discussed the fate of Kilmar Abrego Garcia during an Oval Office meeting. CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, present during the meeting, trashed the administration’s handling of the case.

👥 Who’s Involved: President Trump, CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins, President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador, and Kilmar Abrego Garcia. Pam Bondi and Stephen Miller also contributed to the discussion.

📍 Where & When: The encounter occurred during a meeting on April 15 at the White House, with further discussions on the CNN show The Source with Kaitlan Collins.

💬 Key Quote: “Why don’t you just say, ‘Isn’t it wonderful that we’re keeping criminals out of our country?’ Why can’t you just say that?” — President Trump.

⚠️ Impact: President Bukele has said he will not “smuggle” Garcia, an El Salvadoran citizen, back to the U.S.

IN FULL:

CNN’s Kaitlan Collins continues to have a White House press pass despite constant attacks on President Donald J. Trump. This week, Collins attacked the president over the deportation of an El Salvadoran national linked to the notorious MS-13 gang.

A dispute over the deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia was highlighted during the press portion of an Oval Office meeting with El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele on April 15. Collins questioned Trump about the administration’s handling of Garcia’s deportation following a Supreme Court ruling on his case.

“Why don’t you just say, ‘Isn’t it wonderful that we’re keeping criminals out of our country?’ Why can’t you just say that?” President Trump said, branding members of the press lobbying for Garcia’s return “sick.”

Trump, when asked if he would seek Bukele’s assistance in Garcia’s return, referred the question to senior aides. Attorney General Pam Bondi and Stephen Miller reiterated Garcia’s illegal status and past court findings associating him with MS-13, a designated foreign terrorist organization, which they say bars him from staying in the United States under federal law.

“That’s up to El Salvador if they want to return him. That’s not up to us,” AG Bondi said. Miller concurred, saying, “No version of this legally ends up with him ever living here because he is a citizen of El Salvador. That is the President of El Salvador. Your questions about per the court can only be directed to him.”

President Bukele responded to Collins, stating, “How can I return him to the United States? Like, if I smuggle him into the United States, or what do I do? Of course, I’m not going to do it.”

WaPo Columnist Fears Losing Job if He Critiques Bezos’s New Relationship With Trump.

PULSE POINTS:

What Happened: Washington Post columnist Josh Rogin admitted during an appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored that he fears being fired if he comments on or critiques the newspaper’s owner, Amazon founder and mega-billionaire Jeff Bezos.

👥 Who’s Involved: Piers Morgan, Josh Rogin, Bill Maher, Jeff Bezos, and Donald J. Trump.

📍 Where & When: The debate occurred on Piers Morgan Uncensored, following Maher’s account of his dinner with President Trump on Real Time, which aired on Friday.

💬 Key Quote: Rogin stated, “I’m not in a position to comment on Jeff Bezos, because if I comment on Jeff Bezos, then I could be fired from my job.”

⚠️ Impact: The conversation highlighted potential double standards in media criticism and raised questions about the influence of media ownership. In recent months, Bezos has taken a more active role in the Washington Post, especially on the newspaper’s editorial side.

IN FULL:

On a recent episode of Piers Morgan Uncensored, columnist Josh Rogin found himself in a tight spot as he was challenged to explain why he criticized comedian Bill Maher‘s recent dinner meeting with Present Donald J. Trump while overlooking similar actions by Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos. Rogin was pressed by host Piers Morgan over dismissing Maher’s engagement with Trump as a “PR stunt,” accusing the host of HBO’s Real Time With Bill Maher of inadvertently serving as a tool for Trump’s publicity.

Morgan grilled the Washington Post columnist on his apparent selective criticism, pointing out that Bezos, who owns the newspaper, has had several recent public and private interactions with Trump. “He called him and praised him after he was shot. At a New York Times event in December Bezos said he was optimistic about a second Trump presidency. He had dinner at Mar-a-Lago in December 2024. He pledged a million dollars to Trump’s inauguration fund. He attended the inauguration. Amazon, obviously, one of his, companies [Amazon] streamed Trump’s inauguration on its Prime Video service and is also paying $40 million for a Melania Trump documentary,” Morgan noted.

After several exchanges, Morgan finally drew a stunning confession from Rogin after lampooning the columnist’s unwillingness to discuss Bezos. “All right, but look, Josh, look, if it looks like a duck and it sounds like a duck, it’s probably a duck,” Morgan jabbed, adding: “I mean, you can appreciate that if you’re Bill Maher watching you refusing to be remotely critical of what your own owner has done with Trump in terms of kissing the ring, you could potentially see that he might think there’s a double standard there.”

An exasperated Rogin relented, admitting: “You know, I see what you’re trying to do, Piers, but I’m not in a position to comment on Jeff Bezos, because if I comment on Jeff Bezos, then I could be fired from my job and you know that, so I’m not going to do that.”

The National Pulse reported last October that the Washington Post saw over 200,000 digital readers cancel their subscriptions and its editorial staff revolt against ownership after Bezos and the newspaper’s editorial board decided not to endorse Democratic Party presidential candidate Kamala Harris, choosing instead not to back any candidate. Since the 2024 election, the newspaper has bled subscribers and revenue while facing a second staff revolt in late February of this year when Bezos announced changes to the newspaper’s opinion section, stating it would now focus on promoting “personal liberties and free markets.”

Trump White House Blasts NYT for Ignoring Their Own Reporting on Fluoride in RFK Jr. Smear.

PULSE POINTS:

What Happened: The New York Times published a story involving Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s review of fluoride recommendations. The White House argues it is a smear meant to portray the Trump administration as anti-science and anti-health.

👥 Who’s Involved: Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., The New York Times, the Trump administration, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

📍 Where & When: The White House, state governments across the U.S., including Utah.

💬 Key Quote: The White House contends The New York Times story “is another thinly veiled attempt to falsely portray the Trump Administration as anti-science and anti-health—a characterization that couldn’t be farther from the truth.”

⚠️ Impact: Fluoride in drinking water is linked to health concerns, such as potential impacts on children’s intelligence and various associations with chronic diseases.

IN FULL:

The Trump White House is accusing The New York Times of ignoring their own previous reporting to smear Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.‘s push for state governments to consider restrictions on the use of fluoride in public drinking water. According to the White House, The New York Times story, published on Monday, “is another thinly veiled attempt to falsely portray the Trump Administration as anti-science and anti-health—a characterization that couldn’t be farther from the truth.”

Previous reporting by the newspaper notes that “fluoride may be linked to lower IQ scores in children,” the Trump White notes. The potential negative impact on brain development in children has been a core concern raised by Kennedy in his push for state governments to reevaluate their use of fluoride.

In response to the story, the White House contends that the HHS review is grounded in several recent studies and other evidence suggesting fluoride is more harmful than previously thought. They note that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has determined that the dental benefits provided by fluoride come from topical contact with the outside of a person’s teeth and not from its ingestion. Additionally, the Trump administration is pointing to a 2024 study from HHS’s National Toxicology Program, which found with “moderate confidence” that drinking water fluoride levels, even at the World Health Organization (WHO) recommended limit of 1.5 mg/l, are “consistently associated with lower IQ in children.”

The National Pulse previously reported that Utah has become the first state in the U.S. to end the use of fluoride in its public water system. Governor Spencer Cox (R-UT) signed the groundbreaking law into law this past March. It will ban the addition of fluoride on May 7.

Taylor Lorenz Disappointed by False Rumors of Joe Biden’s Death.

PULSE POINTS:

What Happened: Taylor Lorenz shared a post expressing disappointment that a false report on former President Joe Biden’s death was untrue.

👥 Who’s Involved: Taylor Lorenz, a writer for Mehdi Hasan’s Zeteo.

📍 Where & When: The exchange happened on the social media platform X over the weekend.

💬 Key Quote: “This tweet got my hopes up :(” – Taylor Lorenz.

⚠️ Impact: The post sparked controversy and discussion online, with many users criticizing Lorenz.

IN FULL:

Taylor Lorenz, a former Washington Post and New York Times journalist now writing for Zeteo, a media venture launched by Mehdi Hasan, the ex-MSNBC host who previously compared non-Muslims to “animals,” triggered debate online after publishing a social media post suggesting disappointment that former President Joe Biden was not dead.

An initial post on X, formerly Twitter, reading “RIP Joe Biden 1942-2025. You were always a racist f***ing monster, and will not be missed,” appeared motivated by his policies on the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza. Lorenz is known to share similar sentiments, describing the 82-year-old Democrat as a “war criminal.”

Lorenz’s response was a quote share of this post, in which she expressed her disappointment that the news was false, commenting, “This tweet got my hopes up.” She doubled down in the face of the subsequent backlash, quipping sarcastically, “You can’t even say that you hope a genocidal war monger dies peacefully in his sleep of old age anymore with cancel culture the way it is.”

Lorenz, best known for doxxing the popular Libs of TikTok social media account, has faced similar controversies in the past. Recently, she expressed sympathy towards the alleged murderer of UnitedHealthcare executive Brian Thompson, writing, “People have very justified hatred toward insurance company CEOs because these executives are responsible for an unfathomable amount of death and suffering” on the pedophile-infiltrated X alternative Bluesky. Subsequently, she shared a post about another healthcare company’s policies, remarking, “And people wonder why we want these executives dead.”

Lorenz is also a noted COVID-19 hysteric, describing how she spent “THOUSANDS of my own dollars” on anti-coronavirus measures, including “testing, outdoor space, far UV lights, and a litany of other precautions” for a book launch as recently as December 2024. She remains committed to masking in public, describing those who go maskless as “dumbf***s” who are “raw dogging the air and spewing ur disease laden breath all over ur elderly neighbors.”
