Zuckerberg’s Meta is Building It’s Own Subsea Cables for Web Dominance.

Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta—parent company of Facebook and Instagram—is reportedly preparing to undertake a $10 billion project to construct an extensive fiber-optic subsea cable network solely for its own use. The intended network will extend beyond 40,000 kilometers (approximately 24,850 miles), connecting various global regions while avoiding areas prone to geopolitical conflict and sabotage incidents. These sensitive zones include the Red Sea, South China Sea, Egypt, Marseilles, the Straits of Malacca, and Singapore.

While Meta currently holds partial ownership in 16 existing cable networks, this ambitious new enterprise would be entirely under Meta’s control, allowing the company to prioritize traffic for its own platforms. This move aligns Meta with similar efforts made by Google, which has private ownership of several cable routes and has also invested in 33 additional networks.

Sunil Tagare, an expert on subsea cables, first highlighted Meta’s plan to establish this expansive network, tentatively named “W” due to its shape, in October. Tagare projected the initiative would necessitate a substantial investment of $10 billion, with the completion timeline estimated between five to ten years. As of now, the project is still in its initial phases.

The proposed undersea cable will reportedly traverse the east coast of the United States, traveling through regions such as India, South Africa, and Australia, before looping back to the U.S. west coast. The aim is to steer clear of areas where recent cable disruptions have occurred, which necessitate repair operations often conducted by a discreet global fleet of ships.

Recently, two undersea data cables connecting Finland and Sweden with Germany and Lithuania were believed to have been cut by a Chinese bulk commercial carrier that dragged its anchor for over 100 miles along the seabed.

It’s All Kicking Off in Syria Again.

Rebels in Syria—many with ties to terrorist and Islamic extremist groups, including al-Qaeda—have breached parts of Aleppo, the country’s second-largest city, leading to clashes with government forces. The confrontation was sparked by two car bombs detonated by the insurgents on Friday. The attacks and fight over the city mark renewed hostilities in the now over-decade-old Syrian civil war.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a prominent monitoring group, reported intense skirmishes between the insurgents and Assad government soldiers. Conflict intensified following a surprise offensive by the rebels on Wednesday. During this attack, they captured several towns and villages as they progressed toward Aleppo.

This rebel offensive is notable as it marks the first time since 2016 that opposition fighters have surrounded the city. That year, a Syrian military effort backed by Russia and Iran pushed insurgents out of Aleppo’s eastern neighborhoods. A subsequent ceasefire four years ago yielded a relatively peaceful period.

Local accounts describe Aleppo residents evacuating areas along the city’s western periphery due to missile fire and gunfights. An insurgent commander has utilized social media to implore civilians in Aleppo to cooperate with the rebels. The attacking forces are led by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), formerly al-Nusra, a Sunni Islamist group and that was Syria’s official al-Qaeda affiliate before rebranding.

Syrian state media reported that projectiles fired by insurgents hit university student accommodations in central Aleppo. This attack resulted in four fatalities, including two students. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also indicated that at least 121 individuals have died since HTS, designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S. government, initiated the current offensive.

Spy Chief Who Wants to be Next U.S. Ambassador Also Wants MORE WAR.

British intelligence chief Richard Moore is claiming the withdrawal of lethal military aid from Ukraine would threaten security for the United States, United Kingdom, and European Union. The head of MI6 made the remarks during an address earlier this week in Paris. Moore is believed to be one of two under consideration by the Labour government’s Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, to serve as ambassador to the United States.

Moore’s statement appears to be connected to a significant push among NATO members to escalate the conflict in Ukraine before U.S. President-elect Donald J. Trump takes office in January. Trump has pledged to negotiate a swift end to the bloodshed, which has spurred the Biden government to authorize Ukrainian strikes deep into Russia with Western missiles. In addition, weapons manufacturers appear disinclined toward ending the conflict that has seen a ramp-up in armament production.

The MI6 chief cautioned that allowing Russia’s President Vladimir Putin to assert control over Ukraine could jeopardize transatlantic security, positing that Russia would seek further expansion beyond Ukrainian borders. However, Putin himself has not indicated any larger regional ambitions in the Baltic or Central Europe.

Moore also tried to link potential Russian success to broader geopolitics, suggesting it would embolden nations such as China, North Korea, and Iran. He stressed that the long-term costs of disengaging from Ukraine would surpass current expenditure, posing significant security threats. President-elect Trump has voiced concerns over the financial implications of supporting Ukraine and aims to end the conflict.

Strangely, Moore has pronouns in his X (formerly Twitter) bio, identifying as “he/him.”

Euro-Journalist Federation Loudly Exits Musk’s X.

A major union of European journalists has threatened to leave Elon Musk’s X next year, on the date President-elect Donald J. Trump assumes office. The European Federation of Journalists (EFJ), representing over 320,000 members, has declared its intention to cease publishing on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) beginning January 20, 2025.

The EFJ has joined other media groups, including The Guardian and the German Journalists Association, in leaving the platform.

The organization’s president, Maja Sever, claimed that X now serves as a medium for spreading conspiracy theories, racism, and far-right rhetoric, alleging it benefits Musk’s ideological and financial interests.

Despite these departures, no significant U.S.-based media groups have announced similar actions, though individual journalists have chosen to leave the platform.

X and Elon Musk have also been criticized by European politicians, particularly those in the European Union (EU). Last year, the EU launched pro-censorship action against Musk and X under the Digital Services Act (DSA), alleging X was not compliant in countering illegal content and disinformation.

Musk later revealed that the European Commission, the unelected executive branch of the EU, had offered him a secret deal to quietly censor posts on X. He also claimed other social media platforms had accepted this “illegal” deal.

At one point, former European Commissioner Thierry Breton even directly threatened Musk prior to an interview he conducted with President-elect Donald J. Trump, calling on Musk to censor the interview.

Some X users expressed surprise that, given the quality and similarity of their work, there are as many as 320,000 journalists in Europe. Musk characterized them as “320,000 NPCs.”

Warmonger Boris Johnson Urges NATO Troop Deployment in Ukraine Again.

Former Prime Minister Boris Johnson is once again calling for NATO boots on the ground in Ukraine. He claims he does not “think we should be sending in combat troops to take on the Russians” but that a negotiated peace deal or ceasefire should involve “multinational European peace-keeping forces monitoring the border, helping the Ukrainians.”

Johnson made the comments in an interview with The Telegraph, where he also stated bluntly that the Ukraine war is a Western “proxy war” with Russia, and the West should be giving its “proxies” stronger military support. He believes full integration into NATO is the only long-term solution to Ukrainian security—a move that would embroil America and the rest of NATO in any renewed conflict between Ukraine and Russia.

Multiple sources, including members of Ukrainian and British political circles, have indicated that Johnson played a pivotal role in scuttling early peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. In Kiev, Johnson reportedly urged Ukrainian officials to continue fighting, hamstringing talks that could have ended hostilities in 2022. David Arahamiya, leader of Ukraine’s ruling party, and former Conservative Member of Parliament (MP) Nadine Dorries are among those who have confirmed Johnson’s intervention.

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin also said in an interview with Tucker Carlson that Russia was open to a negotiated settlement and had been actively pursuing such discussions before Johnson’s involvement. Naftali Bennet, the Prime Minister of Israel at the outbreak of the war, has also said the West “blocked” an early peace deal, with Johnson taking a particularly “aggressive” line in favor of war.

While in office, Johnson advocated for increased military recruitment within Britain and supported the idea of conscription.

He has also argued that if U.S. President-elect Donald J. Trump were to withdraw American support for Ukraine as part of a peace push, Britain should consider deploying troops. He suggests that British forces should be ready to intervene if Russia gains a strategic advantage.

FACT CHECK: UK Mass Migration Exploded to Over 900,000 Last Year.

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has slammed the Conservatives (Tories) who governed Britain from 2010 until July this year over revised Office for National Statistics (ONS) figures showing net immigration hit an astonishing 906,000 in the year to June 2023. Previous, provisional ONS numbers showed net immigration had fallen compared to the year to June 2022, but, as in previous years, the government statistician has since found many tens of thousands of additional migrants it missed in its initial estimate.

“A failure on this scale isn’t just bad luck, it isn’t a global trend or taking your eye off the ball—no, this is a different order of failure,” said Starmer, of the far-left Labour Party, arguing: “Brexit was used… to turn Britain into a One Nation experiment in open borders. ‘Global Britain’—remember that slogan? That is what they meant. A policy with no support and which they then pretended wasn’t happening,” he added.

“And now they want to wave it away with a simple ‘we got it wrong.’ Well, that’s unforgivable.”

During the Brexit referendum campaign, former Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his successor, Rishi Sunak, pledged to “take back control” of Britain’s borders. However, after winning the referendum and gaining power, they implemented an uncapped points system, which they were repeatedly warned would supercharge mass migration.

LABOUR’S RECORD.

The previous Labour government also increased net immigration to around a quarter of a million a year, with the Conservatives ousting them on a promise—repeatedly broken—to reduce the annual influx “from the hundreds of thousands to the tens of thousands.” However, the post-pandemic increase to the high hundreds of thousands under Johnson and Sunak is without precedent.

Notably, all migrants who arrived during the “Boris surge” will be eligible for indefinite leave to remain in Britain after just five years, a status which grants expansive chain migration rights to family members. So far, Starmer has ignored calls to suspend or extend indefinite leave to remain in response to the ONS statistics.

In the 1960s, immigration of just 50,000 a year was considered socially undesirable, with the late Conservative lawmaker Enoch Powell giving a famous speech in 1968 stating, “Those whom the gods wish to destroy, they first make mad. We must be mad, literally mad, as a nation to be permitting the annual inflow of some 50,000 dependents, who are, for the most part, the material of the future growth of the immigrant-descended population. It is like watching a nation busily engaged in heaping up its own funeral pyre.”

Russia Heckles U.S. Establishment: ‘Cry Over Ukraine and Gaza Rather Than Trump!’

Russia has called on American liberals to cry more for the deaths of people in Ukraine and Gaza rather than spend time in “hysteria” over the election of President-elect Donald J. Trump. Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, urged the United States to redirect its focus toward ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and Europe following reports that U.S. State Department staff sought counseling after Donald Trump’s election victory.

Zakharova’s comments responded to media reports that the State Department arranged therapy sessions for employees struggling with Trump’s election. Employees at the State Department were invited the Friday after the election to an in-house therapy session if they felt they were unable to cope with the changing political environment and Trump’s return to the White House

Meanwhile, California Representative Darrell Issa expressed concern in a formal letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken. Issa described the notion of providing counseling as alarming, arguing it catered to employees who were troubled by the democratic process.

Zakharova’s statements included pointed remarks about American diplomats mourning Trump’s victory.

“The fact that American diplomats are crying bitterly during working hours instead of performing their duties has caused confusion not only among the public but also within the U.S. House of Representatives,” Zakharova said.

President-elect Trump has promised to end the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky admitting that Trump’s election will hasten the end of the war. However, in recent days, the conflict appears to be escalating after President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer both gave the green light to allow Ukraine to fire Western-supplied long-range missiles deep into Russian territory.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has previously stated such attacks would amount to an act of war by NATO against Russia.

AZ Man Faces Charges for Threatening Donald Trump and Family.

An Arizona man, Manuel Tamayo-Torres, has been detained following accusations of threatening President-elect Donald J. Trump and his family while wielding a rifle in online videos. As detailed in court documents from Arizona, Tamayo-Torres is alleged to have uploaded videos almost daily, making a bizarre and unfounded series of allegations against the President-elect and his family. Concerningly, one video is believed to have been recorded at a Trump rally held at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale on August 23.

The documents reference “Individual 1,” describing this person as a former president and current President-elect rather than directly naming Trump. In a Facebook video dated November 13, Tamayo-Torres is seen displaying a white AR-15-style rifle with a 30-round magazine, issuing a challenging but unclear threat, according to the documents. He is quoted as referring to “Individual 1” and mentioning a scenario involving pursuit after gunfire.

On November 21, another video allegedly showed Tamayo-Torres threatening that Trump’s entire family would die. The documents further reveal his derogatory remarks about Trump’s background and a declaration of intent to cause harm if given the opportunity.

Tamayo-Torres was apprehended in Southern California on Monday. His legal representative has not provided any public comment. The charges against him include one count of making threats against the President-elect and four counts of providing false statements during a firearm purchase. The court documents note that Tamayo-Torres has a criminal history, with a felony assault conviction in 2003 resulting in a five-year imprisonment in California. In addition, he received a protective order from his ex-wife last year, according to the filings.

‘Catholic’ Biden Omits ‘Almighty God’ in Thanksgiving Proclamation.

President Joe Biden notably did not include mentions of the Almighty God or Divine Providence in his Thanksgiving proclamation this year. This stands in contrast to historical traditions, where references to a higher power have been commonly featured in proclamations under past presidents.

The absence came amid the annual observance of Thanksgiving, a holiday Abraham Lincoln officially established as a national day of gratitude in 1863. Even during the turbulent Civil War, Lincoln called for recognition of blessings he attributed to divine intervention.

In his 1863 proclamation, Lincoln encouraged Americans to dedicate the last Thursday of November to thank “our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens.” He emphasized these blessings were not merely human achievements but “the gracious gifts of the Most High God.” Furthermore, Lincoln urged citizens to remember the source of these benefits, cautioning against taking them for granted.

President Biden’s omission aligns with a similar approach taken by former President Barack Obama, who did not reference God in his 2016 Thanksgiving address. This contrasts with the practices of Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Donald J. Trump, who all incorporated mentions of God in their proclamations.

Notably, in 2020, President Trump made both references to God and to the first American settlers who traveled across the Atlantic on the Mayflower.

“On Thanksgiving Day, we thank God for the abundant blessings in our lives. As we gather with family and friends to celebrate this season of generosity, hope, and gratitude, we commemorate America’s founding traditions of faith, family, and friendship, and give thanks for the principles of freedom, liberty, and democracy that make our country exceptional in the history of the world,” Trump wrote, adding: “This November marks 400 years since the Mayflower and its passengers faced the unknown and set sail across the Atlantic Ocean. Propelled by hope for a brighter future, these intrepid men and women endured two long months at sea, tired and hungry, to arrive in a new world full of potential.”

Feds Probe PAC Linked to NYC Mayor Adams.

Federal authorities are investigating a New York City pastor and a political action committee (PAC) he established to support Mayor Eric Adams‘s (D) agenda. The criminal probe is part of several corruption investigations related to Mayor Adams or those close to him over allegations of funneling straw donations in exchange for city contracts and permit approvals on behalf of the Republic of Turkey.

The exact scope of the federal investigation remains uncertain. Still, authorities including prosecutors in Brooklyn and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are reportedly focusing on the actions of the Rev. Alfred Cockfield II. Additionally, the financial dealings of his political action committee, Striving for a Better New York, are under examination.

Approximately two weeks ago, FBI agents searched Mr. Cockfield’s residence in Far Rockaway. Three years prior, Mr. Cockfield created the committee to support Mayor Adams’s agenda. Neither Cockfield nor Adams have made any public statements regarding the situation.

Rev. Cockfield, once a member of the mayor’s transition team, appeared with Mayor Adams during his election night victory celebration. Despite his public involvement, Cockfield’s past includes a 1998 guilty plea for transporting three kilograms of cocaine for the drug organization known as the Poison Clan.

These developments are unfolding in a city that has seen an increase in corruption inquiries involving its leadership. Over the last year, several top city officials have either been questioned or raided by federal law enforcement. In September, the home of the then-New York Police commissioner was raided by the FBI in connection to the broader investigation of Adams and his associates.
