Donald Trump leads Joe Biden by 41 percent to 34 percent (a seven point margin) in new national polling from Premise, while the supposedly “more electable” Ron DeSantis is trailing the octogenarian Democrat by 31 percent to 32 percent.
The poll surveyed 1,726 Americans in the first week of August, and found that Trump also beats DeSantis in a head-to-head by 66% to 25%.
If Biden were ruled out of the race, respondents said Kamala Harris should likely take the Democrat nomination (21%), with Hillary Clinton close behind on 15 percent. A further 14 percent chose Bernie Sanders, with 10 percent picking California Governor Gavin Newsom, meaning DeSantis is due to debate the 5th place pick.

Tanya Sue Chutkan, the Black Lives Matter-supporting, Obama donor judge overseeing Donald J. Trump’s January 6th trial says she wants to keep politics out of the proceedings.
The foreign-born federal judge made the remarks during the protective order hearing at a Washington D.C. court on Friday as Donald Trump’s lawyers requested the right to share trial evidence publicly:
“Mr Trump, like every American, has a first amendment right to free speech, but that right is not absolute… I intend to keep politics out of this.”
Chutkan also denied Trump’s request to allow independently sourced evidence to be excluded from the protective order, telling the former President’s legal team that only publicly available records will be exempt, using the Department of Justice’s suggestions.
The case involves more than 11.6 million pages of files against the former President, according to Special counsel prosecutor, Thomas Windom, with most of the “discovery production” being complete by August 28.
Trump has attempted to move the proceedings from Washington D.C. to West Virginia due to the city’s overwhelming support for the Democrats and even demanded the recusal of Chutkan, yet this failed to materialize.

The Washington Post is attacking the Trump-appointed justice Brantley Starr, who penalized Southwest Airlines for firing a Christian conservative, referring to it as an ‘extremist’ ruling that promoted a right-wing ‘reeducation program.’
U.S. District Judge Starr awarded former Southwest Airlines employee Charlene Carter $5 million after she was unfairly dismissed for speaking out against the company and its employees’ position on abortion and the Washington D.C. “women’s march.”
Her behavior was called “inappropriate, harassing, and offensive” and “crossed the boundaries of acceptable behavior” by the airline, and she was summarily fired.
Justice Starr found the decision violated her rights under federal law and discriminated against her as a result of her religious beliefs. He then ordered that three lawyers representing Southwest undergo “religious-liberty training” at the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) to ensure that they understand the importance of “preserving free speech and religious freedom.”
The decision has been met with fury by the media, calling it “outrageous, unconstitutional and an abuse of judicial authority.” The Post, continued:
“[T]he notion of subjecting lawyers to a reeducation campaign by the likes of the ADF is tantamount to creating a government-endorsed thought police.”
The newspaper went on the suggest that former President Donald Trump is somehow responsible for the decision, stating: “This is the alarming legacy that former president Donald Trump has left us — a skewed bench that he would augment if reelected.”
The case is now being appealed by Southwest Airlines, which routinely celebrates “gay pride” and openly supports Planned Parenthood.

A federal grand jury has been seated by federal prosecutors in San Antonio, Texas to review evidence and witness testimony against embattled conservative Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. Last week it was revealed that Paxton was the subject of an ongoing federal investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice for his involvement with Texas real estate developer, Nate Paul – also the target of a federal investigation.
Despite the media leaks revealing that prosecutors were bringing witnesses to testify to the grand jury, Paxton’s legal team has been unable to confirm that this is in fact the case. Dan Cogdell, Paxton’s attorney said, “All I know is that no one from either the DOJ or the U.S. Attorney’s Office has been able to answer my most basic questions about any possible ongoing investigation regarding Ken.”
Paxton was impeached by the Texas House of Representatives and suspended from office this past May after an exceptionally nasty and public conflict with powerful Republican legislative leaders in the state. They accused Paxton of accepting bribes from Paul among other illegal acts while servings as Texas Attorney General. The Texas State Senate will convene on September 5th to determine whether or not to remove Paxton from office. The removal vote will require a two-thirds vote of the Texas State Senate’s 31 members.
In the aftermath of his suspension from office Paxton raised $1.7 million in just two-weeks, something his team called it a “personal post-session fundraising record”, indicating that the conservative firebrand still has strong grassroots support in the state – a fact that could play a critical role in whether the State Senate decides to move forward with removing him from office.

More than 7.6 million people in the United Kingdom – around 12 percent of the total population – are waiting to receive routine hospital treatment from the country’s socialized healthcare system, the National Health Service (NHS), representing the highest figure since records began in 2007 and increasing by another 100,000 since May.
Just under 400,000 people have been on the NHS waiting list for more than a year, around 7,000 people have been waiting for treatment for over 18 months, and more than 20,000 have waited longer than two months (62 days) for urgent cancer screenings, according to data released by NHS England.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunk made cutting the NHS backlog a core priority of his government at the beginning of the year, announcing “lists will fall and people will get the care they need more quickly,” but this has so far failed to materialize. The NHS has even considered an AI rollout to help shorten the backlog.
The waiting list looks set to grow as thousands of the NHS’ junior doctors and nurses will continue to strike. Junior doctors working for the British Medical Association (BMA) will begin another set to strike on Friday, August 11, until August 15.
The “latest figures paint a grim picture… For the sake of patients, it is imperative that all parties get around the table to resolve this issue,” stated Siva Anandaciva, chief analyst at health think tank The King’s Fund.

Newly revealed police reports have exposed evidence of extensive voter fraud in Michigan – and perhaps other swing states as well – perpetrated by an organization tied to Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign.
Michigan law enforcement launched an investigative task force after a Muskegon city clerk observed a woman, about a month before the 2020 general election, drop off upwards of 10,000 suspected fraudulent voter registrations. The registrations appeared to all have the same handwriting, with some also having non-existent addresses listed for the supposed voter.
Over the course of their investigation, Michigan law enforcement raided the offices of GBI Strategies – an organization found to be the employer of the woman who had originally produced the completed voter registrations to the clerk. The raid revealed a stockpile of semiautomatic weapons, pre-paid cash cards, burner phones, and additional voter registration forms. Despite the raid, no arrests were made and the investigation was turned over to the FBI where it appears to have been buried without further action.
Trump warned of Michigan voter fraud ahead of 2020 election.
GBI Strategies is a Tennessee-based campaign group with deep ties to Democratic campaigns and committees, including Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign. In 2020, the organization received $2,117,605 in payments from the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee as a vendor; as well as $1,031,856 from the DNC Services Corporation, $493,100 from the Democratic Party of Iowa, and $450,000 from Biden for President. GBI Strategies appears to have worked on voter outreach and registration drives for Democrat candidates across the country, raising concerns that other incidents of widespread fraud may exist outside Michigan.

On Saturday, former President Donald Trump will head to the Iowa State Fair with nine members of the Florida Congressional delegation who have endorsed him over Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Representatives Byron Donalds, Matt Gaetz, Cory Mills, Anna Paulina Luna, Greg Steube, Gus Bilirakis, Carlos Gimenez, Brian Mast, and Mike Waltz will all accompany Trump throughout the day.
The Trump campaign intends to deliver a message to Iowa voters that even in DeSantis’s home state of Florida, Republican leaders prefer Trump to DeSantis for the Republican presidential nomination. Ron DeSantis will also be in attendance at the Iowa State Fair on Saturday.
One stop President Trump will not be making is Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds’s ‘fire side chat’ event with various Republican presidential candidates. Reynolds has come under increasing criticism from Trump for her displays of public favoritism towards Ron DeSantis despite a long standing tradition of Iowa’s Republican governors remaining neutral in Republican presidential primary contests in the state. Reynolds has insisted she will not endorse a candidate during the primary, but has publicly fawned over DeSantis for months, leading to him floating her as a Vice Presidential pick in front of a crowd of tens.
An additional event to keep an-eye-on on Saturday will be the Iowa State Fair Straw Poll. The Iowa Secretary of State will be conducting an unofficial straw poll of fair-goers – the event being a semi-replacement for the defunct Iowa Straw Poll last held in Ames Iowa in 2011.

A team of at least seven law enforcement officers dragged an autistic teenager from her home in Leeds, England, after a policewoman took offence at being told she looked like the teen’s lesbian grandmother.
Video footage published on social media shows the 16-year-old cowering in a cupboard as her mother explains to the policewoman, who has a cropped, male haircut, that her daughter has autism and meant no offense, while the officer shrieks: “I don’t care, she’s gonna be arrested!”
After some time, the girl is indeed dragged out of the house by the policewoman’s male colleagues while she looks on nonplussed. The girl’s mother says she was held in a police cell for 20 hours before being released on bail, and was interviewed without her being present.
West Yorkshire Police have complained that people should “avoid reaching conclusions solely on the basis of the social media video” as it “only provides a very limited snapshot of the circumstances of this incident” in a statement published to social media.
They confirm, however, that the girl was “arrested on suspicion of a homophobic public order offence.”
Such crimes do exist and are enforced in the United Kingdom, which has no meaningful free speech protections. The alleged offender was even in her own home at the time of the so-called offense.
West Yorkshire cops are already infamous for their “serious systematic failure” to protect mostly white working-class girls from mostly Muslim rape gang groomers – with one member of the force responsible for promoting diversity and liaising with ethnic minorities being even being tried as a groomer himself.

The museum responsible for preserving the Mary Rose, a Tudor warship that sank in a 16th-century battle, is “queering” its collection of relics from the Renaissance era vessel.
Portsmouth’s Mary Rose Museum admits it is “impossible” to “identify the sexuality or gender identity of crew members” of the Mary Rose, but has still “use[d] ‘Queerness as an interpretative tool’ to represent LGBTQ+ stories” in its collection.
An entry on Pater Noster (Our Father) cords which belonged to crewmembers, for example, veers into a discussion of “men who had sex with men [being] punished by the church” in England prior to 1533, after which they were subject to the Buggery Act.
An entry on a wedding band found on the ship, meanwhile, is used as jumping off point for a discussion of same-sex marriage, and even a simple mirror is presented as an object which could trigger “a strong feeling of gender dysphoria” in queer people, due to “our reflection conflicting with our own gender identities.”
The lengths to which the museum has gone to insert “queerness” into the preservation of wooden warship wreckage has resulted in many complaints, and not only from conservatives.
“I am as keen as anyone on gay sex but I have to say to these curators – you’re f***ing mental,” wrote Philip Hensher, a gay creative writing professor.
Similar “queering” initiatives are present in America, with the University of Chicago recently going so far as to set up a dedicated course on “queering God”.

Oliver Anthony – a musician from Farmville, Virginia – is takingsocialmediabystorm with his song entitled “Rich Men North Of Richmond.” A clip of the song and an accompanying video already has over 200,000 views at the time of publication, with its YouTube equivalent at nearly half-a-million after just 24 hours.
The bluegrass anthem is a condemnation of the Washington D.C.’s political establishment and the wealthy men who influence American politics who have left the working class behind. Anthony’s lyrics lament the skyrocketing suicide rate amongst men in America; the struggle of working Americans to make ends meet; and Washington’s penchant for sending money to aid in conflicts overseas before helping those most in need at home”
I’ve been selling my soul, working all day, overtime hours for bullshit pay. So I can sit out here, and waste my life away drive back home, and drown my troubles away. It’s a damn shame, what the world’s gotten to, for people like me and people like you.
Anthony’s chorus makes the song’s political message plenty clear:
These rich men north of Richmond, lord knows they all just wanna have total control. Wanna know what you think wanna know what you do. And they don’t think you know, but I know that you do. Because your dollar ain’t shit. And it’s taxed to no end because of rich men north of Richmond.
