Biden AG Merrick Garland Held in Contempt After Hiding Special Counsel Recordings.

On Thursday, the House Judiciary Committee voted to advance contempt proceedings against Attorney General Merrick Garland over his refusal to hand over audio recordings of Joe Biden’s interview with special counsel Robert Hur. The move came shortly after Biden invoked executive privilege to block the tapes from being released. The House Judiciary Committee began preparing to hold Garland in contempt earlier this month.

House Republicans have demanded the interview audio tapes for months, arguing that the recordings could reveal more about Hur’s conclusions regarding Biden’s mental faculties. DOJ officials have countered that the Republicans’ request for the audio is unjustified, noting that the complete interview transcript has already been made public. However, the Republicans contend in their report that although the transcripts reflect what Biden said, “they do not reflect important verbal context, such as tone or tenor, or nonverbal context, such as pauses or pace of delivery.”

Hur interviewed Biden last year over allegations of mishandling classified documents. Although Hur ultimately decided not to press charges against Biden, his final report described the octogenarian president as an “elderly man with poor memory.

Fed Chair Jerome Powell Admits They Keep Missing on Inflation.

Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell indicated on Tuesday that the central bank’s rates are likely to hold steady, emphasizing a delayed decline in inflation. He addressed this during his speech at the annual general meeting of the Foreign Bankers’ Association in Amsterdam. Powell pinpointed the unexpectedly slow reduction in inflation this year, stressing the need to observe the outcomes of current restrictive policy measures before acting further.

“We did not expect this to be a smooth road. But these [inflation readings] were higher than I think anybody expected,” Powell said. “What that has told us is that we’ll need to be patient and let restrictive policy do its work.”

The Federal Reserve has maintained a range of 5.25-5.5 percent for its key overnight borrowing rate since July, the highest level in 23 years. Despite market fluctuations triggered by Powell’s comments early in the day, future traders slightly increased the predicted probability of the Federal Reserve’s first rate cut likely to come in September. Powell said it’s likely that rates will remain where they are until inflation cools.

“I don’t think that it’s likely, based on the data that we have, that the next move that we make would be a rate hike,” he said. “I think it’s more likely that we’ll be at a place where we hold the policy rate where it is.”

In its last meeting, the Federal Open Market Committee unanimously voted to maintain interest rates due to the lack of progress in achieving the Fed’s two percent inflation target despite over 10 increases. The Labor Department’s producer price index (PPI) showed a higher-than-expected rise of 0.5 percent for April.

Dem Gov is REALLY Upset About Tariffs on Chinese EVs.

Governor Jared Polis (D-CO) slammed Joe Biden for imposing new tariffs on several products and materials produced in Communist China.  Polis called the tariffs, which seek to counter Communist Chinese influence in the American economy, “horrible news.”

On Tuesday, Biden posted on X (formerly Twitter): “I just imposed a series of tariffs on goods made in China. 25% on steel and aluminum, 50% on semiconductors, 100% on EVs, And 50% on solar panels. China is determined to dominate these industries. I’m determined to ensure America leads the world in them.”

Responding to Biden’s on X, Polis wrote, “This is horrible news for American consumers and a major setback for clean energy. Tariffs are a direct, regressive tax on Americans and this tax increase will hit every family.”

Despite Polis’s objections, a 100 percent tax on Chinese electric vehicles is a sensible policy. Not only would an influx of cheap Chinese EVs damage the American auto industry, but there are also legitimate concerns that such cars pose a national security risk.

Polis, Colorado’s first Jewish governor and the country’s first openly gay governor, appears to have a history of friendliness towards China and its Communist government. Despite widespread support for a TikTok ban in Colorado and much of America, Polis was against such a ban. In 2020, a Chinese think tank with ties to the Chinese Communist Party published a list of all 50 U.S. governors based on their stance towards Beijing. The think tank gave Polis a “friendly” rating, one of just 17 to receive it.

FED REPORT: Corporate Greed *ISN’T* Fuelling Inflation, as Biden Claims.

Despite the Biden government’s claims to the contrary, corporate price-gouging has not been driving rises in U.S. inflation, according to research published by the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco on Monday. The Biden regime has attempted to blame inflation on corporate America by deploying terms like ‘greedflation’ and ‘shrinkflation.’

Although markups were observed in 2021-2022 for vehicles and petroleum products, markups across all U.S. goods and services have been relatively flat post-pandemic. “As such, rising markups have not been a main driver of the recent surge and subsequent decline in inflation during the current recovery,” wrote bank researchers.

“Data for the current recovery show that the increase in corporate profits is not particularly pronounced compared with previous recoveries,” they wrote. “Markups also have not played much of a role in the slowing of inflation since the summer of 2022.”

The research is a direct rebuttal to the Biden regime’s efforts to blame corporate America for inflation. In a video released around the Super Bowl, Biden slammed snack manufacturers for selling smaller bags of food for the same price. In his most recent State of the Union address, Biden leveled similar accusations against large corporations, accusing Snickers by name of engaging in “shrinkflation” practices.

Inflation continues to be an issue for the incumbent Democrat, and more Americans have faith in former President Donald Trump’s ability to bring it under control versus Biden’s.

Trump Leads in 5 Key Battlegrounds as Young, Nonwhites Abandon Biden.

A recent collection of polls by The New York Times, Siena College, and The Philadelphia Inquirer revealed that Donald J. Trump leads over President Biden in five major battleground states. The shifting political landscape likely stems from concerns over economic conditions and the situation in Gaza among younger, Black, and Hispanic voters, potentially disrupting the Democratic coalition that bolstered Biden in 2020.

The polls indicate that in a head-to-head scenario, more voters in Michigan, Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, and Pennsylvania would vote for Trump, with Biden leading only in Wisconsin among the six states surveyed. However, Biden’s margin increases slightly among likely voters, where he manages a slim lead over Mr. Trump in Michigan while reducing his deficit in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.

Despite winning all six states in 2020, the surveys suggest a considerably tighter race for President Biden’s reelection campaign, emphasizing the importance of victories in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin, alongside maintaining his 2020 map elsewhere.

The minor-party candidates and independent contender Robert F. Kennedy Jr. received an average of 10 percent of the votes across the six states, drawing relatively equally from both major-party candidates. This reveals another variable to consider in the upcoming presidential race, possibly influencing the final outcomes in these crucial states.

Younger and minority voters are increasingly abandoning their support of Biden. This exodus is primarily driven by Biden’s performance on the economy and previous strong support for Israel in its war against Hamas in Gaza. Although the Biden regime has lately reversed its position on Israel in an attempt to woo those voters, the recent polls suggest that the U-turn is not having its desired effect.

Joe Biden’s White House REALLY Wants To Keep This Detail Off America’s Census…

The Biden government “strongly opposes” the efforts of congressional Republicans to include a citizenship question on the census in order to prevent non-citizens from being counted for congressional apportionment. It claims that doing so would be costly and “make it more difficult to obtain accurate data.”

The Congressional Equal Representation Act is designed to exclude non-citizens from diluting the voting power of U.S. citizens and prevent states with high numbers of illegal residents from gaining undue, disproportional influence over the country. A significant number of the illegal aliens who have flooded across the U.S.-Mexico border since Joe Biden took office have ended up in Democratic cities and states.

The Biden Office of Management and Budget (OMB) said in a statement that it “strongly opposes” the bill as it would “preclude the Department of Commerce’s Census Bureau from performing its constitutionally mandated responsibility to count the number of persons in the United States in the decennial census.” The OMB also claims it would “increase the cost of conducting the census and make it more difficult to obtain accurate data” and “violate the Fourteenth Amendment of the Constitution.”

Republicans, however, contend that the Biden government is simply trying to secure political advantages for the Democratic Party that would come from counting illegal aliens in the census. “It is unconscionable that illegal immigrants and non-citizens are counted toward congressional district apportionment and our electoral map,” said Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.) in January.

“While people continue to flee Democrat-run cities, desperate Democrats are back-filling the mass exodus with illegal immigrants so that they do not lose their seats in Congress or their electoral votes for the presidency, hence artificially boosting their political power and in turn diluting the power of other Americans’ votes.”

VIDEO: MSNBC Pundits Stunned As Public Declares Biden Greater Threat Than Trump.

MSNBC pundits were shocked by a recent PBS Newshour/NPR/Marist poll that revealed that more Americans perceive Joe Biden as a greater threat to democracy than former President Donald Trump. According to the poll, 53 percent of independent voters believe that a second Biden term will invariably weaken America, as opposed to 42 percent who think Trump would weaken the country.

“I find it shocking, honestly. I can’t make sense of that number,” said MSNBC political analyst Susan Del Percio.

Del Percio then mused that the absence of television coverage of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s case against Trump may be resulting in disinterest in the accusations against the former President, leading some independents to ‘incorrectly’ believe Biden is a greater threat to democracy.

LAWFARE, CENSORSHIP, & THE BORDER CRISIS.

However, what never seems to cross Del Percio’s mind is that it may be the very trial itself that has led independents to view Biden as a greater threat to democracy. Multiple polls have consistently shown that significant numbers of Americans believe the prosecutions against Trump are politically motivated witch hunts. Last month, a poll found that a majority of Americans now believe this to be the case and do not think Trump can receive a fair trial.

Biden’s willful mishandling of the border crisis may also be influencing independent voters to view him as a threat to democracy. An April poll found that a majority of Americans believe that Biden is intentionally importing migrants into the country en masse to create a permanent Democratic majority.

In addition to viewing the Biden government’s use of lawfare to persecute a political opponent as a threat to democracy, many Americans are doubtless concerned about the Biden FBI and DHS censoring information critical of and damaging to the regime. The Biden White House has also pressured social media companies and others directly to censor information it doesn’t like.

As independent presidential candidate RFJ, Jr. put it last month: “The greatest threat to democracy is not somebody who questions election returns but a president of the United States who uses the power of his office to force social media companies… to censor his political critics.”

Trump Has the ‘Big Mo’ With Suburban Women.

Former President Donald Trump has seen a resurgence in support among suburban women, according to a recent ABC News/Ipsos poll, leveling up with Joe Biden. This is a notable shift within this group, which is traditionally seen as hard to sway and previously favored Biden by considerable margins.

Among suburban women, Trump and Biden are now tied with 45 percent support each among suburban women. Trump leads Biden by eight points — 49 percent to 41 percent — among suburban men.

Concerns over immigration and the economy appear to be driving suburban women to the Republican presidential candidate’s camp. Last year, an April Wall Street Journal poll found that 54 percent of white suburban women supported Biden, while just 41 percent supported Trump. This demographic, which leaned strongly towards Biden in the 2020 elections, seems to have shifted allegiance.

BLACKS, LATINOS, AND WOMEN FOR TRUMP.

While Trump’s support among suburban women has grown, his popularity among black and Hispanic voters has also risen. This upswing is reflected in Gallup and Siena College polling, which revealed Democratic support among these groups at its lowest for 60 years. Given this, Trump could potentially attract votes from black and Hispanic men at levels unseen by a Republican candidate since the 1950s.

According to April’s Wall Street Journal polling, 30 percent of black men and 11 percent of black women plan to vote for Trump in 2024, nearly double the 12 percent of black men and six percent of black women who voted for him in 2020. Furthermore, a recent USA Today/Suffolk University poll showed Trump leading Biden by five points among Hispanics, marking a 33-point increase from his 2020 levels of support.

Concerns over immigration and the economy are driving support among women for Trump. A recent Gallup poll found that women are now more worried about immigration than men. This is undoubtedly troubling news for the Biden campaign, which views suburban white women as a key voter bloc. Last month, it was reported that George Soros was pumping $1 million into efforts to sway moderate suburban white women.

Americans Are More Pessimistic About Home Ownership Than Ever Before.

New data from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York suggests American renters are becoming increasingly pessimistic about their chances of eventually becoming homeowners. According to the Survey of Consumer Expectations, anticipation of homeownership is now at an all-time low of 40.1 percent, significantly down from 44.4 percent a year ago. The percentage of renters expecting to one day be homeowners has plummeted by over 10 points since Joe Biden took office.

When Biden first entered the White House, the average belief in future homeownership was 51.6 percent. The drop has been even larger amongst renters aged 50 and under, with 48.7 percent today believing in future home ownership, down from 67.2 percent when Biden took office — a nearly 20-point drop.

Contrary to Biden’s assurance that his policies would spur economic growth from the grassroots level upwards, Americans in the lower income bracket also express deeper pessimism regarding their likelihood of homeownership. Those earning less than $60,000 annually assessed their average chance of buying a home at 31.3 percent this year, down from 41.3 percent in February 2021.

Renters earning above $60K also manifested a declining homeownership expectation, decreasing to 61.5 percent from 69.8 percent when President Biden took office.

The decline in homeownership anticipation has been prominently significant in the Northeast and Midwest regions. In the Northeast, the rate dropped to 25.8 percent this year from 43.4 percent in 2021, while expectations in the Midwest fell from 61 percent to 36.7 percent.

Worries over the economy and inflation consistently rank among voters’ top three concerns. Biden’s time in the White House has been marked by a steep economic decline in the U.S., and over half of Americans view the economy under Biden as “poor.”

Biden’s Attorney General, Merrick Garland, To Be Held in Contempt.

The House Judiciary Committee is preparing a resolution to hold Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt of Congress due to the Justice Department’s refusal to release Joe Biden’s audio-recorded interview with special counsel Robert Hur, according to a source familiar with the committee’s agenda.

Last year, Hur interviewed Biden over allegations of mishandling classified documents. Despite Hur’s ultimate decision not to press charges, his final report portrayed Biden as an “elderly man with poor memory” — a characterization that provoked upset among Biden’s supporters and allies.

For months, House Republicans have demanded the audio of the discussion, arguing that the testimonial itself could unveil more about Hur’s conclusions regarding Biden’s mental faculties. However, DOJ officials counter that the Republicans have yet to justify their request for the audio, noting that a complete interview transcript has already been shared.

During a March public hearing, Hur expressed neutrality on the subject of the audio’s release, stating that the recordings played a part in his resolution but that the decision to disclose them was not his to make.

In February, it was revealed that Biden’s lawyers attempted to pressure the DOJ to cover up the Hur report. The transcript revealed that Biden “couldn’t recall” information 150 times throughout the five-hour interview and “forgot” details once every two minutes.
