salman rushdie

Salman Rushdie, Who Hid In the Free West for Decades, Says It Was Never Great.

Author Salman Rushdie, recently attacked by a radical Islamic terrorist in New York, is now claiming the West in which he has sought refuge for decades is not so great, and that a “golden age myth” lays behind movements such as “MAGA” and Brexit.

Despite relying upon the West’s commitment to freedom of expression and millions of dollars in taxpayer resources that have ensured his safety after former Iranian leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini issued a “fatwa” against him in 1989, Rushdie told an audience on Wednesday:

“Make America Great Again’ – that’s always made me want to ask: ‘When exactly was that?’ What is the date to which we are looking backwards? Was it, for example, when there was slavery? Was it before women had the right to vote? Was it before the civil rights movement?”

Rushdie also hit out at Republicans voters specifically, claiming they no longer value democratic values enshrined in the First Amendment and are embracing authoritarianism due to concerns about the fairness of the 2020 presidential election. He argued, “When you have the large majority of Republican voters believing that the last election was stolen… if the assault on truth has reached that level of success, then we’re in real trouble.”

He made no comment on the authoritarian use of power by the left, in order to imprison those with differing opinions on the matter, including President Trump. Rushdie went on to suggest Brexit – which has never been fully implemented by the British government – was a “catastrophe”.

“In England, the Brexit catastrophe was the result of another golden age myth, which is: ‘England used to be this glorious country and it could be that glorious country again, if only we could get rid of all these foreigners,” Rushdie retorted, without signaling whether or not he, a foreigner, would return to his native India. Probably not, though.

Disqualify Trump

14th Amendment Won’t Disqualify Trump, Says NH Secy of State.

New Hampshire Secretary of State David Scanlan addressed concerns about former President Donald Trump’s eligibility to appear on state ballots during a news conference this week, explaining there would be chaos, confusion, anger, and frustration if different states had different rules regarding ballot eligibility. New Hampshire’s filing period for candidates will run from October 11th to October 27th.

Opponents of Trump argue Section 3 of the 14th Amendment disqualifies him from appearing on the 2024 ballot due to his efforts to overturn the rigged 2020 election. Scanlan assured that if a candidate submits their paperwork during the filing period and pays the required fee, their name will appear on the ballot in the state.

Chairman of the state Republican Party, Chris Ager, expressed satisfaction with Scanlan’s remarks and stated that the 14th Amendment issue could be put to rest in New Hampshire. Bruce Breton, campaign co-chair in New Hampshire, echoed Scanlan’s comments, confirming that anyone who meets the requirements and pays the filing fee will be placed on the ballot, including Trump.

Earlier this month, a group of Minnesota voters filed a lawsuit seeking to remove Trump from the ballot, citing the insurrection clause of Section 3 of the 14th Amendment. Similar lawsuits have also been filed by voters in Colorado. Scanlan clarified that he is not seeking to remove any names from the presidential primary ballot in New Hampshire.

Sean Penn Wants to Make AI Replicas of Studio Chiefs’ Daughters.

Actor and infamous Hollywood liberal Sean Penn wants to make AI replicas of the daughters of major motion picture studio executives and, according to him, let his friends do whatever they want to them. Penn’s bizarre comments come in response to the ongoing Hollywood writers and actors strike, where the issue of studio use and control over AI generated likenesses of actors has become a critical sticking point.

When asked about the strikes during an interview with Variety, the actor proposed his solution to the impasse over AI: asking film executives, on camera:

“So you want my scans and voice data and all that. OK, here’s what I think is fair: I want your daughter’s, because I want to create a virtual replica of her and invite my friends over to do whatever we want in a virtual party right now. Would you please look at the camera and tell me you think that’s cool?”

– Sean Penn, September 2023.

Over-the-top outbursts against his perceived enemies is not unusual for Penn, now 63 years old. In a 2018 opinion piece for Time, the actor declared that then President Donald Trump was the “enemy of mankind” and an “enemy of the state” insinuating that Trump was an immediate threat to the American people. In 2003, Penn took out a full page ad in the New York Times to attack President George W. Bush, warning that the American flag was becoming “a haunting banner of murder, greed, and treason against our principles”

Most recently, the Oscar-winning actor has taken up the cause of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his country’s war with Russia, making a failed push for the Ukrainian president to address the crowd and cameras at the Academy Awards in 2022.

Ukraine Lobbyist Boris Johnson Begs Trump, ‘Don’t Stop Supporting Ukraine.’

Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson – who is believed to have thwarted an early-brokered peace between Ukraine and Russia – is now urging Donald Trump to continue the wasteful and unaccountable U.S. support for the nation in his second term.

Johnson visited Ukraine again last week, and has now warned in a new column in the globalist Spectator magazine that Russian success would be a “catastrophe” for Western and American leadership. Johnson peddled the same neoconservative positions he used while Prime Minister, before his ouster over corruption.

“I don’t believe it is an outcome that could easily be endured by a US President, let alone one who wanted to Make America Great Again. And if, on the other hand, Ukraine wins and kicks Putin out – as, with our help, they can – then the reverse is true.”

– Boris Johnson, September 2023.

“Exactly the opposite message will be sent around the world: that we do care about democracy, that we are willing to back our principles, and that the West still has the guts to stick at something until we succeed,” Johnson added.

Instead, Johnson supports the view of the Biden government in continuing to send billions of dollars in weaponry, machinery, and aid to maintain the war, which has already led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian and Russian soldiers and tens of thousands of amputations and life-changing injuries.

Johnson also recently claimed he wants to force the Taliban to watch women’s soccer until they finally appreciate women’s sports.

DeSantis Spox Admits Trump’s Nomination ‘Seems Inevitable’.

Steve Cortes, the ” national spokesman” for the pro-DeSantis SuperPAC Never Back Down, has admitted a presidential rematch between Donald Trump and Joe Biden “seems inevitable,” during an appearance on the Chicago’s Morning Answer. While laying out the case for Florida Governor DeSantis, Cortes claims voters do not want to see a rematch of 2020, though let slip that Trump’s primary victory appears all-but-certain.

“You mentioned earlier about dissatisfaction with a Trump-Biden rematch. On most polling, roughly two-thirds of Americans… do not want that rematch. It is a rematch that nobody wants yet it seems at this moment to be inevitable,” Cortes told the radio hosts before going on to pitch DeSantis an alternative. The show hosts were quick to point out that much of the Republican establishment appears to have moved on from DeSantis, with many even favoring the candidacy of former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley.

“DeSantis is now not a clear-and-away second place candidate. He’s fighting for second place. And then whoever’s there, if they can establish some separation, then they’ve got 20, 30, 40 points to go to get to Trump.”

Cortes conceded the situation is “a tough one for Ron DeSantis.”

Newsweek Failed to Disclose Anti-Trump Op-Ed Written by DeSantis Pollsters.

Corporate media outlet Newsweek has been caught failing to disclose that an opinion editorial attacking former President Donald Trump was written by two employees of a polling firm whose founder and CEO is the chief pollster for the pro-DeSantis SuperPAC Never Back Down. The authors, Byron Allen and Amanda Iovino, are both employees of WPA Intelligence, and used their op-ed column to claim Trump is losing white voters, passing off Never Back Down talking points as thin analysis. Newsweek makes no mention of WPA Intelligence’s affiliation with Never Back Down.

Chris Wilson, the founder and CEO of WPA Intelligence, serves as the data director and chief pollster for the Never Back Down SuperPAC. Outside of his polling duties, Wilson appears to be a close confidant of the PAC’s chief strategist Jeff Roe – the two recently launching an AI chatbot that they hope will sway voters to DeSantis through text messages.

WPA Intelligence’s Byron Allen has also produced polling for the anti-Trump group Club for Growth. In November of last year, the Club released polling done by Allen suggesting Ron DeSantis held an 11 point lead over Donald Trump in Iowa and a 15 point lead in New Hampshire. At the time, there was a strong effort among Trump’s detractors to push a narrative that the former President faced crumbling support within the Republican Party. Recent polling shows Trump with a 23 to 37 point lead over DeSantis in Iowa and a lead of 14 to 40 points in New Hampshire.

Allen has not hidden his personal disdain for Trump, posting on X (formerly Twitter) in 2015 during the presidential primary: “Difference between Bernie and Trump is that I think Bernie really believes the crap that comes out of his mouth.”Allen has also accused Trump of being a 9/11 Truth conspiracy theorist and suggested the former President couldn’t find Benghazi on a map.

Schumer: Biden Impeachment is ‘Witch Hunt’.

Democratic Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has ironically labeled the GOP-lead impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden’s crooked financial affairs a ‘witch hunt,’ despite his own party having spent the last eight years politically persecuting former President Donald Trump.

Schumer, who twice voted to impeach the 45th President and was one of the leading proponents of the Russian collusion hoax, told the press after Speaker McCarthy announced the inquiry:

“I think the impeachment inquiry is absurd. The American people want us to do something that will make their lives better, not go off on these chases and witch hunts.”

– Sen. Schumer, September 2023.

“I have sympathy with Speaker McCarthy, he’s in a difficult position. But sometimes you got to tell these people who are way off the deep end, who have no interest in helping the American people, who just want to pursue their own witch hunts—that they can’t go forward,” Schumer added.

Schumer is yet to protest the unprecedented political step of criminally indicting a former U.S. President on four occasions, led by President Biden’s Department of Justice, which has spent a whopping $10 million pursuing Donald Trump.

trump must die

Trump ‘Must Die In Prison’, Says Muslim MSNBC Columnist.

Dean Obeidallah, a long-term Palestinian-American columnist for MSNBC, and radio host on SiriusXM, has argued that former President Donald Trump be given a long enough sentence that he dies in prison in order to “protect democracy”.

Obeidallah responded to a guest on his radio show about “how conservatives would react” if Biden said Trump could die while in jail, to which he stated:

“I think Donald Trump must die in prison because – I don’t care if he was 45 years old. You should get life in prison if you attempt a coup, and there should be no chance of parole.”

“Either we’re gonna protect the democrat republic or allow people – in this case Trump – to chip away at our democracy… that’s why I’m so passionate with every fibre of my being,” Obeidallah added.

Despite backlash over his comments, Obeidallah doubled down in a Substack article, arguing that Trump dying in prison would “send a loud and powerful message” to Americans that they would meet the same fate if they tried something similar. Donald Trump faces 641 years imprisonment if the 45th President is convicted on all charges brought against him by the four criminal indictments.

Putin Says Trump Charges Are ‘Politically Motivated’.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has argued that the four criminal indictments of former President Donald Trump amount to the persecution of a political opponent and undermine the American claim to democracy.

Putin made the remarks during an Eastern Economic Forum meeting in the Russian city of Vladivostok on Tuesday morning, telling his audience:

“Everything that is happening with Trump is the persecution of a political rival for political reasons. That’s what it is. And this is being done in front of the public of the United States and the whole world.”

What is happening “is good because it shows the rottenness of the American political system, which cannot pretend to teach others democracy,” added the Russian President, who has been in power for over two decades.

Putin also went on to explain relations between Russia and the United States were likely to improve or “change radically” in the near future, regardless of who becomes the next U.S. President in January 2025. He also refused to answer whether he would seek re-election during Russia’s elections next year.

Team DeSantis Bemoans Primary Rules, Says They Aid Trump.

Ron DeSantis’s presidential campaign is expected to fight against California’s new presidential primary rules during the state’s Republican Party convention at the end of September. In July, the CAGOP transitioned to a winner-take-all system, instead of allocating presidential primary delegates by Congressional district. Now if a candidate receives more than 50 percent of the vote state-wide, they capture all of the state’s delegates. If no candidate reaches that benchmark, delegates are awarded proportionally.

President Donald Trump leads the field in California by over 50 points, appearing to be on track to secure all of the state’s 169 delegates. DeSantis, polling a distant 2nd place with only 16 percent would be awarded no delegates, angering Tallahassee-based consultants such as Erin Perrine, the official spokesman for DeSantis’s Never Back Down political action committee (PAC).

Perrine – who previously worked for the failed Dr. Oz campaign, as well as Trump’s 2020 re-election bid – said the changes were “Trump-inspired rigging”, arguing the California GOP was “making grassroots involvement impossible.”

The CA GOP says the changes are not for any particular candidate, but instead about ensuring the party is in compliance with new Republican National Committee (RNC) rules. The RNC has emphasized the need for primary candidates to campaign across the whole state and not just specific congressional districts in which they’re competitive.

In late August, Never Back Down ended its paid door-knocking operations in California, as well as in Nevada – another state where the DeSantis campaign is accusing the state party of attempting to rig the election for Trump.
