Democrat Mayor Pleads Guilty to Spying for China.

Arcadia Mayor Eileen Wang faces up to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to acting as an unregistered agent for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) regime.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: Eileen Wang, the Democrat mayor of Arcadia, California, has resigned after being charged by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) with acting as an illegal agent for the Chinese government. Wang has agreed to plead guilty to the felony charge, which could result in up to 10 years in prison.
📺 DETAIL: Authorities found Wang worked with Chinese officials between 2020 and 2022 to spread pro-Beijing propaganda through a Chinese-language website called U.S. News Center while coordinating with operatives tied to China’s intelligence apparatus. Wang has agreed to plead guilty to one felony count that carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison, and prosecutors said she communicated with Chinese officials about articles promoting Beijing’s positions, including content denying human rights abuses in Xinjiang. Federal investigators said Wang’s activities occurred before she took office in 2022, and officials stated there is no evidence Arcadia city resources were used in the scheme. Wang’s former fiancé, Yaoning “Mike” Sun, who previously pleaded guilty in a related case, allegedly helped manage the propaganda operation. The FBI and Justice Department described the case as part of a broader effort to counter covert Chinese influence operations targeting American institutions and local governments.
💬 KEY QUOTE: “Individuals in our country who covertly do the bidding of foreign governments undermine our democracy.” – First Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli.
🎯 IMPACT: This case highlights growing concerns over China’s attempts to infiltrate and influence U.S. institutions, even at the local government level. Previous cases of Chinese Communist Party (CCP) spying have involved a former CIA official and a former State Department official who was sentenced to ten years in prison in 2025.

Who’s The Man Laundering Chinese Communist Philosophy into the United States?

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: A network of global nonprofit groups funded by Shanghai-based billionaire Neville Roy Singham is allegedly being used to spread pro-Chinese Communist Party (CCP) propaganda. This network, which includes organizations like BreakThrough News and CodePink, operates with funding from Singham and his affiliates, often through tax-exempt entities.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Neville Roy Singham, BreakThrough News, CodePink, and others linked to the Singham network, along with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

📍WHEN & WHERE: Recent activities include events in Havana, Cuba, and financial transactions dating from 2017 to 2025 involving nonprofits in the U.S. and abroad.

🎯IMPACT: The network influences global narratives, undermines U.S. interests, and promotes Chinese Communist Party propaganda through a sophisticated system of funding and media production.

IN FULL

A network of global nonprofit groups funded by Shanghai-based billionaire Neville Roy Singham is allegedly being used to spread pro-Chinese Communist Party (CCP) propaganda. This network, which includes organizations like BreakThrough News and CodePink, operates with funding from Singham and his affiliates, often through tax-exempt entities.

Notably, Singham’s network has been instrumental in organizing and funding the recent leftist “Granma 2.0” flotilla to Cuba, including participation from alleged Chinese front groups like CodePink. The Caribbean island nation’s communist regime is on the brink of collapse, a situation that proves a serious strategic problem for China as Cuba hosts a major Chinese military spy base. Additionally, the loss of Cuba’s CCP-friendly regime would come on the heels of the U.S. ouster of Venezuelan narco-dictator Nicolás Maduro, a major source of oil—along with the Islamic Republic of Iran—for the Chinese state.

Financial records show that three U.S. nonprofits linked to Singham sent $9.1 million to Shanghai Maku Cultural Communications Co., a pro-China propaganda firm. This firm is housed in the same building as Singham’s operations in Shanghai and aligns with CCP narratives. These transactions are part of a broader ideological pipeline that moves hundreds of millions of dollars globally to support pro-China messaging.

The network’s influence extends beyond funding. It includes a coordinated media machine that produces content, organizes protests, and shapes public opinion. For example, BreakThrough News, which received over $1 million from Singham, regularly promotes anti-American and pro-China narratives. Its ties to the CCP have raised concerns among U.S. lawmakers, including House Ways and Means Chair Jason Smith (R-MO).

Experts warn that this propaganda effort mirrors Mao Zedong‘s strategy of “Propaganda Work,” embedding revolutionary narratives within cultural and social organizations to erode societal cohesion. Currently, China’s foreign-directed propaganda is largely overseen by the China Association for International Friendly Contact (CAIFC). This internal government organization is under the direct supervision of the Political Work Department of the Central Military Commission (CMC), the latter of which is itself chaired by China’s paramount leader, Xi Jinping.

Notably, while CAIFC is publicly led by a minor princeling, Chen Yuan—son of the former Vice Premier of the same name—it is actually controlled by one of China’s most powerful princelings, Deng Rong, the daughter of former paramount leader Deng Xiaoping.

STUDY: TikTok Pushes Pro-CCP Propaganda on American Youth.

A new academic study released by Rutgers University’s Network Contagion Research Institute (NCRI) indicates that the TikTok social media platform, owned by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)-controlled company ByteDance, is used to promote pro-CCP propaganda among American youth. The study, an update to a preliminary report published by NCRI last August, reveals a bevy of evidence that TikTok routinely downplays negative content regarding the Chinese state, Communist Party, and their history of repression when searched even by U.S. audiences.

Using several dummy accounts, researchers could gauge the types of content users encounter through TikTok’s algorithm when searching for content that should explicitly expose controversies regarding the CCP’s historical actions. A comparative analysis by the researchers found that negative CCP content was generated over 80 percent of the time when searching the subject of “Uyghurs” on Instagram. The same search on TikTok generated negative CCP content just 11 percent of the time.

Likewise, on YouTube, searches for “Tiananmen” turned up negative CCP content 65 percent of the time. Conversely, just 20 percent of the content generated by the same search on TikTok was negative. Overall, the Rutgers study found TikTok’s algorithm appears set to generate overwhelming pro-CCP content when a user searches a subject where China has been embroiled in criticism and controversy.

INFLUENCING THE WEST.

The researchers argue that TikTok is a prime example of the CCP’s use of “persuasive technologies” as part of a broader propaganda campaign to influence public perception of the communist country in the Western world. According to polling data cited by the study, the more time users spent on TikTok, the more positive they perceived China’s human rights record toward political and ethnic minorities.

The study’s release comes just days before the U.S. Supreme Court hears oral arguments regarding a possible ban on TikTok.

REVEALED: Trump Impeachment Catalyst Group Received Massive Taxpayer Subsidy.

An international non-government organization (NGO) comprised of journalists in six countries, intimately involved in the first Democrat-backed impeachment of President Donald J. Trump, has been exposed as receiving half of its funding from the United States Department of State. The Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP)—co-founded by entrepreneur Drew Sullivan—saw 52 percent of the funds it spent between 2014 and 2023 funneled to it by the U.S. federal government, according to a report published by Drop Site.

Concerningly, it appears U.S. taxpayer dollars likely contributed to the OCCRP’s investigation into former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani‘s political work in Ukraine. These activities were cited no fewer than four times in the whistleblower letter that sparked the first impeachment of President Donald J. Trump in 2019. Trump was ultimately acquitted of the charges by the U.S. Senate.

U.S. TAXPAYER FUNDS.

The report notes that while the OCCRP—a massive NGO heavily involved in corruption reporting in Eastern Europe and Russia—has disclosed that it receives some government funding, the exact amounts were previously not publicly known. Since the organization’s founding, the U.S. government has contributed $47 million to its budget and is committed to granting OCCRP an additional $12 million.

In addition to American government funding, OCCRP has received an estimated $15 million from the governments of Britain, France, Sweden, Denmark, and the Netherlands over the last decade. OCCRP is also backed by private donors, including left-wing billionaire George Soros‘s Open Society Foundations.

EXTENSIVE MEDIA NETWORK.

The OCCRP routinely collaborates with state and corporate media worldwide. These include Germany’s public broadcaster NDR and Der SpiegelRolling Stone magazine and The Washington Post in the United States, The Guardian and The Times in the United Kingdom, France’s Le Monde, and Australia’s Dossier magazine, among many others.

Additionally, much of the OCCRP’s U.S. government-backed work has focused on countering Russian media narratives, raising concerns that the organization is simply spreading its own propaganda to counter that pushed by the Russian government. Numerous OCCRP reports have been cited as the basis for U.S. government actions against individuals, companies, and governments around the globe.

Like many NGOs, OCCRP attempts to portray itself as nonpartisan. However, its co-founder, Drew Sullivan, has a lengthy social media track record of boosting partisan political narratives. Recently, Sullivan has amplified claims that President-elect Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, sports far-right Christian nationalist tattoos.

The National Pulse has reported that the tattoo in question is a Jerusalem Cross associated with the Kingdom of Jerusalem and the modern country of Georgia.

Harris Camp Tries to Manipulate Algorithms on X, Reddit.

Vice President Kamala Harris‘s 2024 presidential campaign is being accused of manipulating X (formerly Twitter) and other digital platforms in a coordinated effort to spread pro-Democratic Party propaganda, often violating the platforms’ terms of service. The Harris campaign allegedly operates a Discord server where volunteers are directed to use their social media accounts to manufacture a false consensus by making pro-Harris commentary appear more widespread than it naturally is.

The campaign’s efforts reportedly include manipulating algorithms on sites like Reddit and X. According to individuals within the campaign’s Discord server, directives block undesirable Community Notes on X, which serve as crowdsourced fact checks for misleading content. Opponents of President Donald J. Trump made a similar effort during the 2024 Republican primary.

Some Harris campaign accounts have been flagged by social media users for spreading disinformation, but their posts have surprisingly few Community Notes appended to them, possibly because campaign volunteers downvote the annotations.

The Discord server is reported to host a module on increasing users’ Community Notes ratings, positioning them to influence the platform’s content curation system more effectively. Discord channels also contain content that undermines Republican narratives through misleading community notes.

Technology and space exploration mogul Elon Musk—who owns X—says the allegations of platform and Community Notes manipulation by the Harris campaign are being being investigated by his team.

Hillary Wants Americans Spreading Pro-Trump ‘Propaganda’ to Be ‘Criminally Charged.’

Hillary Clinton is suggesting American citizens should be “criminally charged” for repeating so-called Russian propaganda “boosting Trump.” Kamala Harris‘s running mate, Tim Walz, has similarly claimed the First Amendment does not apply to alleged “misinformation.” The comments suggest free speech could be under threat if the Democrats win in November.

“I think it’s important to indict the Russians, just as Mulluer indicted a lot of Russians who were engaged in direct election interference and boosting Trump back in 2016,” the failed Democratic presidential candidate told Rachel Maddow.

“But I also think there are Americans who are engaged in this kind of propaganda. And whether they should be civilly or even in some cases criminally charged, [that] is something that would be a better deterrence, because the Russians are unlikely, except in a very few cases, to ever stand trial in the United States,” she said.

Clinton appeared to be referencing two alleged Russian shell companies—Concord Management and Concord Consulting—which the Department of Justice (DOJ) charged following Muller’s flawed investigation. However, these charges were dropped once the firms began defending themselves in court.

WALZ.

Clinton’s comments echo those of Tim Walz, the controversial Governor of Minnesota and running mate to Kamala Harris.

“There’s no guarantee to free speech on misinformation or hate speech, and especially around our democracy,” the Democrat said in December 2022.

Walz displayed similarly authoritarian attitudes during the COVID-19 pandemic, taking a hands-off approach towards Black Lives Matter rioters but having the National Guard shoot paintballs at suburban women standing outside their front doors to enforce curfews.

Harris, too, during her run at the Democrats’ 2020 nomination, threatened government action against social media platforms that do not censor content to her liking, saying: “If you profit off of hate, if you act as a megaphone for misinformation or cyber warfare, if you don’t police your platforms, we are going to hold you accountable.”

AP Deletes Tweet Falsely Claiming JD Vance Belittled School Shooting.

The Associated Press (AP) has deleted a disingenuous article claiming former President Donald J. Trump‘s running mate, Senator J.D. Vance, described school shootings as “a fact of life.” The supposedly impartial news wire service had taken the Ohio lawmaker grossly out of context, with his full quote on the subject of a recent shooting in Georgia being, “I don’t like this. I don’t like to admit this. I don’t like that this is a fact of life, but if you are a psycho and you want to make headlines, you’ve realized that our schools are soft targets, and we have got to bolster security at our schools.”

Vance also said, “If these psychos are going to go after our kids, we’ve got to be prepared for it,” stressing: “We don’t have to like the reality that we live in, but it is the reality we live in. We’ve got to deal with it.”

AP acknowledges it provided only a “partial quote”—eagerly seized upon by the Kamala Harris campaign—in a social media post sharing its replacement article. However, it has stopped short of issuing an apology.

REPUTATIONAL DAMAGE.

The news agency received heavy criticism for its misleading reporting. The scandal follows X (formerly Twitter) owner and tech mogul Elon Musk stating, “AP stands for Associated Propaganda,” in response to another questionable report on “Right-wing influencers [being] duped to work for [a] covert Russian influence operation.” This was illustrated with a photograph of Donald Trump, despite the fact that most of the influencers were not Trump supporters.

The “fact of life” article is not the first article on Vance that AP has had to delete. In July, a gratuitous “fact check” centered on a false claim about the vice presidential hopeful having “sex with a couch” was taken down, with the new agency admitting the article “didn’t go through our standard editing process.”

“This is yet another case of the fake news media brazenly lying about a Republican politician,” Vance’s spokesman William Martin told The National Pulse.

”Senator Vance said exactly the opposite of what the Associated Press claimed. It should come as no surprise that the AP lost any and all credibility it had years ago, because they will lie about literally anything in order prop up the Democrats. Meanwhile, Kamala Harris has called for all police officers to be removed from schools, putting children all over America at risk. It’s yet another example of how Kamala Harris’s weak, failed, and dangerously liberal agenda makes her unfit for office.”

FLASHBACK: Kassam Explains How Foreign Cash Influences U.S. Media and Politics.

While much is being made of the Biden Department of Justice’s (DOJ) indictment of two Russian nationals for allegedly enlisting a U.S. company and social media influencers to push pro-Russia propaganda on YouTube, corporate media has remained silent on far more complex and concerning foreign influence operations. The National Pulse’s Editor-in-Chief, Raheem Kassam, revealed five years ago in a video for Prager University that one of the most far-reaching foreign influence schemes has operated openly as a social media endeavor in the U.S. and continues to do so.

Owned by the Al Jazeera news network, AJ+ is funded by the Persian Gulf state of Qatar. Despite its deep foreign connections, the organization has received minimal scrutiny from the DOJ. However, multiple Members of Congress— including former Representative Lee Zeldin (R-NY)—have raised the issue over the years.

TERRORIST TIES.

“AJ+ is bankrolled by the government of Qatar,” Kassam explains, continuing: “[Qatar] is a tiny Persian Gulf state with lots of oil money, billions of dollars they’re not afraid to spend causes they believe in. Causes like the terror group Hamas, which runs the Gaza Strip.”

Kassam goes on to note that aside from Hamas, Qatar also funds the Muslim Brotherhood, al Qaeda, and Hezbollah. The Persian Gulf state promotes the interests of its terror clients through its funding of the Arab news network Al Jazeera. The network rolled out AJ+ following its failed 2013 attempt to launch a U.S. news network after purchasing a media company from former Vice President Al Gore.

FOREIGN INFLUENCE.

Under the AJ+ banner, Al Jazeera and Qatar target American youth, pushing far-left messaging in an effort to sow division and influence U.S. politics and elections. “The young and hip presenters at AJ+ depict America as racist through-and-through, past-and-present,” Kassas states, adding: “Black Lives Matter has no greater media ally than AJ+. Nor do avowed socialists, like Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.”

While Qatar has primarily operated its foreign influence scheme through AJ+, the Persian Gulf state has also used other intermediaries, including former MSNBC host Mehdi Hassan, who now works for Al Jazeera. Additionally, Qatar has reportedly made a large investment in Newsmax through a member of its royal family.

The National Pulse reported in April this year that Joe Biden‘s brother, Jim Biden, also has concerning ties to Qatar—partnering with business interests controlled by the Persian Gulf state.

IN BRIEF: The Russian Propaganda Indictment, and What it Means for Tim Pool, Benny Johnson, and Dave Rubin.

A sprawling federal investigation into an alleged Russian foreign influence operation in the United States has resulted in a lengthy indictment that names several prominent conservatives and right-leaning influencers as unwitting participants in the scheme. Released yesterday by the Department of Justice (DOJ), the 32-page indictment alleges two Russian nationals spearheaded an influence operation targeting an American audience to subtly push pro-Russia propaganda.

The DOJ claims that Kostiantyn Kalashnikov and Elena Afanasyeva—both employees of Russia Today—are at the center of a money laundering operation that spent nearly $10 million using a network of shell companies in the U.S. and Europe to influence and sow division among Americans. Russia Today—recently rebranded as RT—is a Russian state-controlled media outlet forced to register as a foreign agent in the United States in 2017 under former President Donald J. Trump.

RUSSIAN PROPAGANDA.

According to the indictment, the Russian operatives approached a Tennesee-based media company—widely understood to be Tenet Media—offering to finance a social media operation primarily centered on YouTube videos addressing hot-button American political issues. However, as part of the financial agreement, Kalashnikov and Afanasyeva would have a high degree of control over the content published. The two would use false identities in their interactions with content creators, directing them to unwittingly push Russian interests among more standard social media political commentary.

Tenet Media is owned by Canadian national and right-wing social media personality Lauren Chen and her husband, Liam Donovan. The DOJ indictment does not mention either by name, nor does it level criminal charges—as of now—against the couple. However, the charging document does allege that both Chen and Donovan were aware that they were working with and taking money from Russian operatives and appear to be complicit in pushing Russian propaganda.

UNWITTING PARTICIPANTS.

The indictment notes that while Tenet Media’s leadership appeared willing to participate in the Russian influence scheme, the company’s clients were unaware of the foreign connections. Tenet Media had relationships with a roster of conservative and right-leaning influencers, including Benny Johnson, Tim Pool, and Dave Rubin.

“A year ago, a media startup pitched my company to provide content as an independent contractor. Our lawyers negotiated a standard, arms length deal, which was later terminated,” Johnson wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter) responding to the indictment. He adds: “We are disturbed by the allegations in today’s indictment, which make clear that myself and other influencers were victims in this alleged scheme.”

Also, responding to the indictment, Dave Rubin wrote on X: “These allegations clearly show that I and other commentators were the victims of this scheme. I knew absolutely nothing about any of this fraudulent activity. Period.”

Rubin stresses that the DOJ has never contacted him regarding its investigation and subsequent indictment.

EXC: Gaetz Uncovers How YOUR Cash is Funding Biden Regime Disinfo.

Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL) says the taxpayer-funded international news outlet Voice of America (VOA) is promoting disinformation against publicly elected U.S. officials—including himself—through its “fact-checking” site Polygraph.info. In a letter to the Biden government-backed news outlet’s acting director, John Lippman, the Florida Republican details how VOA broke their own “Journalistic Code” in publishing their attack on him.

“The VOA has a clear ‘Journalistic Code,’ a public statement of its alleged principles, which were clearly violated in this case, and I ask you to take down this demonstrably false “fact check” by Polygraph.info,” Rep. Gaetz wrote to Lippman. He continued: “In fact, the sources you do cite in the piece, contrary to your Journalistic Code, clearly do not have firsthand knowledge of the facts on the ground, and worse, you don’t report any disagreement here.”

Last week, Rep. Gaetz published a detailed report on the current status of American troops in the African country of Niger. The Congressman conducted multiple interviews with U.S. active-duty personnel stationed in the county who outlined the deteriorating state of equipment and resources.

“Since the U.S.-trained Nigerien coup leaders took control of the country in mid-2023, there has been a cessation of diplomatic overflights. This has left the Department of Defense unable to execute planned troop rotations, in addition to being unable to deliver critical medical supplies, equipment, and other routine materials,” Gaetz reported in his investigation into the matter.

According to the Congressman, Polygraph.info‘s published “fact check” claims there are “continuing talks” between U.S. and Niger officials, which Gaetz details as categorically false. Additionally, Gaetz informs Lippman that no one from Polygraph.info ever contacted his office regarding the “fact check.

“At root, I find it amazing that the U.S. government is paying an entity to put out misinformation about U.S. policy and labeling that propaganda outfit as a “fact checking” organization. Do better,” Gaetz concludes. The Congressman asks Lippman to respond by May 1, 2024, and remove the false Polygraph.info “fact check.”
