Farage Blasts ‘Open Borders Andy’ Burnham’s 10-Year Plan for Britain.

Nigel Farage, leader of the Reform UK party, has criticized “Open Borders Andy” Burnham, the likely next Prime Minister, following a flagship speech on Monday.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: Nigel Farage, leader of the Reform UK party, criticized presumptive Prime Minister Andy Burnham for his plans to increase devolution, arguing it won’t solve key national issues. Burnham outlined his ten-year plan for Britain in a speech on Monday, ahead of his expected rise to replace the outgoing Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer.
💬 KEY QUOTE: “What the country wants is immediate action. And I tell you what, they’re not going to get it from Mr. Burnham or, should I say, Open Borders Andy.” – Nigel Farage
📰 DETAIL: Farage questioned the effectiveness of devolution, that is, devolving more decision-making powers from the central government to regional bodies. Specifically, Farage questioned whether devolution to London, Wales, and Scotland had helped in addressing concerns such as safety, healthcare, and political corruption. “Has devolution in London, with Mayor Sadiq Khan, made London’s streets safer? No. Has devolution in Wales given a better [National Health Service] or education? No… Has devolution in Scotland cleaned up Scottish politics… no,” argued Farage on Monday, ciiting the recent imprisonment of former  Chief Executive of the Scottish National Party Peter Murrell for embezzling funds. Farage further criticized Burnham’s plan as lacking urgency and failing to address Britain’s current challenges, such as illegal immigration and the national debt. “He [Burnham] says it will take ten years to lift Britain back up to where it needs to be… Those of us that believe that Britain is broken would say we haven’t got ten years, the country will be totally unrecognizable in ten years,” said Farage.
🎯 IMPACT: This represents another line of attack in Reform’s critique of Burnham. Reform Shadow Home Secretary Zia Yusuf has already criticized Burnham’s immigration plans. Specifically, Yusuf warned that Burnham intends to relocate over 10,000 asylum seekers from African countries like Sudan and Eritrea, whose nationals are disproportionately convicted of severe crimes such as violent and sexual assault, to Britain. “Labour has no mandate for this. It was not in their manifesto. The British people voted repeatedly for less immigration, yet keep being subjected to more,” said Yusuf on Sunday.

Supreme Court ALLOWS Counting of Mail-In Ballots Arriving After Election Day.

The Supreme Court has ruled in favor of so-called grace periods for mail-in ballots arriving after Election Day.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: The U.S. Supreme Court has upheld a Mississippi law that allows mail-in ballots postmarked by Election Day to be counted if received up to five days later. The 5-4 decision, authored by Amy Coney Barrett, is a loss for the Republican Party, which had challenged the law, arguing it violates the Constitution.
📺 DETAIL: Mississippi is one of 18 states and territories with grace periods for mail-in ballots, most of which are Democrat-led. Republicans, led by President Donald J. Trump and the Republican National Committee (RNC), oppose such laws, arguing they undermine election integrity by extending the election timeline beyond what Congress sets. The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals previously ruled in favor of the Republicans, leading to this Supreme Court case.
🎯 IMPACT: The ruling solidifies mail-in ballot grace periods ahead of the 2026 midterms elections. President Trump and his allies maintain that such rules facilitate electoral fraud. Following the ruling, President Trump wrote on Truth Social that it is now more important than ever for Congress to pass the SAVE America Act, which includes election integrity rules related to voter ID and voter registration.
💬 KEY QUOTE: “[T]he election-day statutes require the electorate’s choice to be made on election day. That occurs so long as election day is the deadline for individuals to vote—as it is in Mississippi.” – Amy Coney Barrett
💬 SECONDARY QUOTE: “Two centuries of historical practice reinforce the proposition that holding an ‘election’ on a particular day means that poll workers had to receive the ballots by that date. From this country’s founding until the late 20th century, election-day ballot collection was the near-uniform practice, with only a few, late-arriving exceptions.” – Justice Samuel Alito, dissenting
📺 FLASHBACK: Trump previously signed an executive order requiring all federal election ballots to be received by Election Day, but it was swiftly blocked by lower courts.

Official Police Watchdog Investigating Officer Bias in Henry Nowak’s Arrest.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) is investigating whether Hampshire Police’s wrongful arrest of white murder victim Henry Nowak was influenced by nearby anti-immigration protests.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: The official police watchdog in the United Kingdom has announced an investigation into whether officers involved in the wrongful arrest of white murder victim Henry Nowak, 18, were influenced by nearby anti-immigration protests.
📺 DETAIL: The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has expanded its investigation into Hampshire Police after Henry Nowak, an 18-year-old white student stabbed to death by 23-year-old Vickrum Digwa with a Sikh religious dagger, was wrongfully handcuffed in December last year by officers who refused to believe he had been stabbed, after Digwa and his relatives falsely accused him of racism. The IOPC announced its expanded investigation this week following six months of prior investigation into Nowak’s arrest. The investigation will assess whether officers were influenced by anti-immigration protests occurring near the crime scene. Specifically, Nowak’s wrongful arrest and murder occurred a short distance away from Highfield House Hotel. Locals and anti-immigration activists have been demonstrating outside the hotel, which is hosting migrants at taxpayers’ expense, since May 2025. There have been clashes between activists and migrants, resulting in five arrests and five dispersal orders since the protests began. One of the orders was issued just days before Nowak’s arrest. The IOPC will also look into the use of handcuffs on Nowak—Digwa, notably, was never handcuffed, even after his belated arrest for attempted murder—and the provision of first aid to Nowak, but has decided not to pursue misconduct charges against the individual officers involved in the teenager’s wrongful arrest.
🎯 IMPACT: The investigation raises questions about police conduct and impartiality in the context of immigration, with officers seemingly willing to believe an unsubstantiated allegation of racism against a white person with little investigation, and treating it more seriously than an allegation of stabbing against an ethnic minority. The outcome of the investigation is likely to influence the push by Reform UK leader Nigel Farage to end two-tier policing and institutional anti-white racism in the United Kingdom. Officers may have failed to assist Nowak and believed the Digwa family’s false claim that Nowak had racially abused them to avoid accusations of racism from migrant and ethnic minority groups.
📺 FLASHBACK: This represents another branch of the investigation into Henry Nowak’s murder and wrongful arrest. Last week, new bodycam footage revealed that the police treated Nowak and Digwa very differently. Specifically, the footage revealed that Digwa was not handcuffed when he was arrested for attempted murder, with the sympathetic officer agreeing, “I know,” as Digwa falsely claimed that he had been “racistly [sic] attacked.” In contrast, police refused to believe Nowak had been stabbed when he told them he needed an ambulance. Nowak seemingly passed out and died almost immediately after being pinned down and handcuffed by officers, after having remained conscious for over an hour before they intervened.
💬 KEY QUOTE: “We have been updating our terms of reference following recent discussions with Henry’s family. Once all concerned parties are notified we will be in a position to provide further information.” – IOPC spokesman

Supreme Court Restores Presidential Power to Fire Federal Officials, Overturning 90-Year Deep State Shield.

The Supreme Court has empowered the President to remove independent agency heads, reshaping federal bureaucracy.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: The Supreme Court ruled on Monday that President Donald J. Trump can fire Federal Trade Commission (FTC) members and, by implication, other federal officials, at will, overturning the Humphrey’s Executor v. United States decision of 1935, which had protected independent agencies for 90 years. Notably, another Monday morning Supreme Court ruling places limits on the President’s power to fire Federal Reserve governors.
📰 DETAIL: The FTC case, Trump v. Slaughter, arose after Trump fired two Democrat FTC commissioners, Rebecca Slaughter and Alvaro Bedoya, without cause, as their service no longer aligned with the Trump administration’s priorities. The Court’s decision emphasizes the President’s constitutional authority to remove executive officers.
💬 KEY QUOTE: “The Constitution vests executive power in one president who must be able to remove the officers who wield that power on his behalf.” – Chief Justice John Roberts
💬 SECONDARY QUOTE: “BIG WIN just moments ago at the Supreme Court, in the Slaughter Case, confirming Presidential Power in our Country to remove Executive Branch Officers and Agency Appointees, or Representatives, under Article II. This Decision was long sought by United States Presidents, dating all the way back to the 1930s. It is such an Honor to be the sitting President who won this Historic and Unprecedented Ruling, one of the most important ever given with respect to Presidential Powers.” – President Trump, reacting to the ruling on Truth Social
🎯 IMPACT: This ruling reshapes the federal bureaucracy by allowing the President greater control over independent agencies, potentially preventing “unfireable” officials from undermining the agenda of elected officials.
👀 FLASHBACK: The decision contrasts with another ruling on the same day, Trump v. Cook, where the Court ruled the President could not remove Lisa Cook from the Federal Reserve’s Board of Governors at will, highlighting a distinction between the central bank and other independent agencies.

Supreme Court Declines Trump’s Appeal in E. Jean Carroll Lawsuit.

The Supreme Court has left intact a civil jury verdict holding President Donald J. Trump liable for sexual abuse and defamation against writer E. Jean Carroll.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: The Supreme Court declined to hear President Donald J. Trump’s appeal of a civil jury verdict that found him liable for sexually abusing and defaming writer E. Jean Carroll. The Monday morning decision upholds a $5 million judgment awarded to Carroll following a civil trial in 2023.
📺 DETAIL: The case centers on Carroll’s claim that Trump sexually abused her in a New York City department store in the mid-1990s, a claim he has consistently denied. Trump did not attend the trial, and his legal team called no witnesses. He argued in his appeal that the allegations were implausible, that the alleged incident had occurred around three decades ago in changing rooms that are usually locked and staffed, and that the trial judge erred in allowing certain evidence, such as the unsubstantiated allegations of two other women. Bizarrely, jurors found Trump not liable for rape, which was the main accusation against him, despite finding him liable for sexual abuse.
🎯 IMPACT: The Supreme Court’s decision may mark the end of Trump’s legal avenues to overturn the $5m judgment. Carroll has also won a separate defamation case against Trump, with an $83 million judgment, which he is also appealing.
📺 FLASHBACK: Carroll first made her allegations public in 2019, prompting Trump to deny the claims and accuse her of fabricating the story. She claims to have been attacked by a large number of men and boys over the years in separate incidents, including a childhood playmate, a babysitter’s boyfriend, a dentist, a camp counselor, an unnamed college date, an unnamed former boss, and former CBS chief executive Les Moonves.

Reform’s Zia Yusuf Warns Against Andy Burnham’s Plan to Fly in Thousands More Migrants.

Zia Yusuf, Shadow Home Secretary for Nigel Farage’s Reform UK party, has warned that Labour’s immigration policies under Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer’s expected successor, Andy Burnham, will exacerbate Britain’s immigration crisis.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: Reform UK’s Shadow Home Secretary, Zia Yusuf, has criticized Labour’s immigration plans, warning that Sir Keir Starmer’s likely successor as Prime Minister, Andy Burnham, will worsen Britain’s immigration crisis. In a Sunday video statement shared on social media, Yusuf warned that Burnham intends to relocate over 10,000 asylum seekers from countries like Sudan and Eritrea, whose nationals are disproportionately convicted of violent and sexual offenses.
📰 DETAIL: Yusuf argues that Labour lacks a mandate for such immigration policies, as they were not included in their manifesto (election platform) in 2024. He also highlights concerns about the potential for up to 2.2 million immigrants to gain so-called indefinite leave to remain (ILR) and full access to welfare benefits if Burnham blocks a plan to retrospectively change the waiting period for ILR from five to ten years. “Britain has once again been betrayed by a political class that refuses to secure the border, refuses to enforce the law and refuses to put British people first. Under Andy Burnham, this will only get worse,” Reform said in a statement published Monday.
💬 KEY QUOTE:Labour has no mandate for this. It was not in their manifesto. The British people voted repeatedly for less immigration, yet keep being subjected to more.” – Zia Yusuf
🎯 IMPACT: Yusuf warns that Burnham’s policies could cost taxpayers £50 billion (~$66.2 billion), equating to £1,800 (~$2,400) per household, and argues that only Reform UK can be trusted to protect Britain’s borders and taxpayers. Burnham is expected to take over from Starmer as Labour leader and Prime Minister within a matter of weeks, with Starmer having resigned following heavy losses to Reform in local elections, and no clear challenger to Burnham emerging.

Man Charged with Rape and Murder of 2-Year-Old Girl is From Central African Republic.

A two-year-old girl was found dead in Chertsey, England, prompting murder and sexual assault charges against a 31-year-old “French national” who first came to Europe from the Central African Republic.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: A two-year-old girl was found dead in a property in Chertsey in South East England on June 25 following reports of a concern for safety. Police have charged Kevin Kerjean, 31, with murder, rape of a child under 13, and sexual assault of a child under 13.
📍 WHEN & WHERE: The incident occurred in Chertsey, England. Kerjean appeared in Guildford Magistrates’ Court on June 27 and is scheduled for a Crown Court appearance on June 29.
💬 KEY QUOTE: “This is a tragic incident, and our thoughts are with the child’s family, as well as all those who knew her.” – Detective Chief Superintendent Jon Groenen of Surrey Police
🎯 IMPACT: The horrific death has left the local community in shock, with police maintaining a significant presence in the area to investigate the circumstances. Authorities have clarified that the property in question is not an active asylum seeker residence, addressing earlier online rumors.
📺 DETAIL: Kevin Kerjean, a French national born in the Central African Republic, was arrested and charged following the discovery of the toddler’s body. Police have confirmed they are not seeking any other suspects at this time. The investigation, named Operation Northwall, continues as officers work to piece together the events leading to the child’s death.

UK ‘Conversion Therapy’ Bill Threatens Prison for Parents Who Resist Trans Treatments for Kids.

A proposed law in the United Kingdom threatens parents, teachers, and doctors with jail time for discouraging children from undergoing irreversible transgender treatments.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: A new law in the United Kingdom could see parents, teachers, and doctors imprisoned for trying to talk a child out of trans treatment.
📰 DETAIL: On Thursday, Labour Member of Parliament (MP) Olivia Bailey, the Equalities Minister, published a draft bill to ban conversion therapy, which involves attempting to change or suppress a person’s sexual orientation or gender identity. Under the bill, those who try to prevent children from saying they are gay or transgender could face up to five years in prison. While the government insists that the bill will not penalize non-abusive discussions, and allegedly includes a “high threshold” for charges to be pressed, critics argue that the bill’s broad definition of abuse, which includes “controlling or coercive words or behaviour” and “use of psychological or emotional pressure,” could lead to criminal charges for having conversations with children about their gender identity. “Make sure everyone you know – especially parents – is aware of what is going on: including the proposal for five-year prison sentences for protecting your child from harmful drugs,” said Bev Jackson, co-founder of the LGB Alliance, a gender critical advocacy group.
💬 KEY QUOTE:This is a dangerous proposal that will harm the people it purports to protect.” – Maya Forstater, Chief Executive of Sex Matters, a gender critical advocacy group
🎯 IMPACT: The draft bill has already sparked backlash from civil liberties organizations. In response to the bill, The Free Speech Union, a non-partisan public interest body protecting freedom of speech, posted on X: “Any parent who ‘misgenders’ their confused adolescent daughter, or tries to talk them out of embarking on an irreversible medical pathway, could face criminal charges for trying to ‘convert’ them. It won’t just be parents and medical professionals who will risk imprisonment for trying to talk gender-confused children out of mutilating themselves. Any religious leader who shares the teachings of their faith on issues like homosexuality and gay marriage, could also face prosecution. That’s what this authoritarian Government wants to ban – any dissent from radical progressive orthodoxy when it comes to sex and gender.” The Free Speech Union has started a petition to scrap the bill, which has since received thousands of signatures. The bill is comparable to the ban pursued by Democrat Governor of Michigan Gretchen Whitmer back in 2023.

DATA: Record Number of Pregnancies Ending in Abortion.

New data from the Office for National Statistics has revealed a significant rise in the abortion rate in England and Wales, especially among women in their forties and over.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: A record one in three conceptions in England and Wales end in abortion, according to new government figures.
📺 DETAIL: New figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS), the British government’s largest independent producer of official statistics, have revealed that conceptions ending in abortion have reached a record high in England and Wales. Nearly one in three conceptions (32.1 percent) resulted in termination in 2023. This represents an increase from approximately one in four (25.3 percent) in 2020. Data from the Department of Health showed that abortions in England and Wales rose to a record 277,970 in 2023. The data was released by the ONS on Friday. The data also revealed that, among women aged over 40, conception rates increased to 17.6 per 1,000, the highest on record, with 38 percent of conceptions in this age bracket ending in abortion. The highest abortion rates were recorded among under-16s (66.3 percent) and 16-17 year olds (60.4 percent). There were 871,050 conceptions across all age groups, a 4.4 percent rise from the previous year.
🎯 IMPACT: The rising abortion rate is likely a consequence of the decision to approve medical abortion pills for home use. The pills were intended as a temporary measure in response to the COVID-19 pandemic but were ultimately approved permanently across England and Wales. The pills can be taken without having to attend a hospital or clinic beforehand. The data shows that the rate of abortion has been steadily increasing over the last decade.
📺 FLASHBACK: The United Kingdom has among the most permissive abortion laws in the world. In February 2024, it was first reported that the country was on the cusp of decriminalizing abortion up to birth. In late April, abortion up to birth was fully decriminalized for mothers after the Crime and Policing Bill passed through Parliament. At the same time, the British government has cracked down on pro-life activists, even arresting people for silently praying outside abortion clinics.

UK Pays Europe 15x Normal Rate for Emergency Electricity Amid Heatwave.

Britain’s electricity grid struggled this week due to surging demand and reduced domestic energy production, driven by the country’s ongoing heatwave and poor energy policies, forcing emergency power imports at extraordinary cost.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: The British government has paid Europe 15 times the normal rate for emergency electricity imports as energy demand surges past domestic supply amid an ongoing heatwave. At the same time, it continues to block new oil and gas drilling in the North Sea.
📺 DETAIL: The United Kingdom was hit by a record-breaking and ongoing heatwave this week. The British heat record for the month of June was broken for a third day in a row on Friday, with 36.9C recorded in Suffolk, southern England. The heatwave has caused a spike in demand for energy as the British public tries to stay cool and hydrated. In response, the National Energy System Operator (Neso) hurried to secure emergency energy suppliers as domestic generation fell short of demand and the nation’s power grid was plunged into crisis. On Wednesday evening, it was revealed that Britain paid almost £1,400 per megawatt hour for European electricity, approximately 1,600 percent above typical European rates and around 15 times normal wholesale prices. The emergency electricity imports, which mainly came from the Netherlands, totaled 2.3 gigawatts, costing an estimated £11 million for just one evening. Neso required permission from the European Union to import the emergency energy. The crisis was exacerbated by several factors, including reduced solar panel efficiency created by extreme heat, gas-fired power plants undergoing routine maintenance, and four of Britain’s nuclear reactors being offline for repairs or unplanned maintenance.
🎯 IMPACT: The energy crisis has highlighted critical vulnerabilities in British energy infrastructure. Critics have pointed to Neso’s failure to accurately predict demand and prepare ahead of time. Britain already has some of the highest energy costs in the developed world. As such, the crisis underscores both the priciness of British energy and the heatwave’s impact on the cost of living.
📺 FLASHBACK: Local councils have ordered Britons to remove air conditioning (AC) units from their homes to achieve Net Zero targets. Officials in London councils are enforcing a “cooling hierarchy” that treats AC as a last resort after passive measures like opening windows or using fans. Some residents have been told to permanently dismantle units already installed. Prior to his resignation, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer was warned by President Donald J. Trump that he was failing on immigration and energy extraction, particularly with respect to North Sea oil and gas.
