What You Need to Know About Super Tuesday.

Donald Trump is looking to put the final nail in the 2024 primary season coffin tomorrow as voters in over a dozen states head to the polls.

Super Tuesday is the biggest voting day of the primary season. On the Republican side, 15 states choose their nominee, and over 33% of delegates are up for grabs.

Let’s talk about those delegates: Candidates must win a majority of the 2,429 delegates up for grabs (1,215) to secure their party’s nomination. Currently:
Back to Super Tuesday: The states in the spotlight include Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, and Virginia.
  • Eight hundred fifty-four delegates are up for grabs.

Winner takes all states: Many big states voting on Tuesday have “winner take all” primaries. So whoever has the majority of votes will take all the delegates. There will be massive pickups in states like Texas (150 delegates) and California (169 delegates).

Zoom out: According to the Real Clear Politics average of all Republican primary polls, Trump leads Nikki Haley, 78.7% to 15.3%.

Big picture: While there aren’t enough delegates up for grabs on Super Tuesday to technically put Trump over the top, by the end of the night, he should be close enough to put an unofficial end to the GOP primary season and focus on the general election.

Governor Walz, who abandoned a reelection bid as coverage of the scandal escalated online, recently claimed credit for cracking down on fraud, despite Swanson and other whistleblowers indicating that his administration was actively suppressing earlier investigations. Vice President J.D. Vance, in his role as the Trump administration’s anti-fraud czar, warned, “We’re not going to let anybody who committed a crime off the hook, and in fact, if you are a senior officer [in Minnesota], if you’re the Attorney General or the Governor, or any other elected official, we’re going to look extra hard at what you knew and when you knew it and how connected your actions were to this fraud scheme.”
