‘Paperwork Oversight’: Dem GA Senate Candidate Failed To Disclose Ties to Chinese Government-Backed Media Firm

Jon Ossoff, a Georgia Senate hopeful, failed to disclose financial ties to the Qatari government-backed Al Jazeera and the Chinese Communist Party through a media company.

Ossoff, who will face off against Senator David Perdue in a runoff election, and his campaign attributed the coverup of his foreign financial ties to “paperwork oversight.”

The comments, from a campaign spokesperson, were in response to an attack ad highlighting the comprising and campaign-damaging ties.

The company in question – PCCW – is partially owned by the Chinese government and Al Jazeera.

Per Townhall:

“The ad points to Ossoff’s business ties to both PCCW, a media company partially owned by the CCP, and Al Jazeera, which has been deemed a “mouthpiece for terrorists.” Ossoff’s business dealings with Al Jazeera also caused trouble for his 2017 congressional bid. The ad also points out Ossoff’s initial failure to disclose these ties in his filings with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) until July, after the Democrats’ Senate primary. His failure to disclose ties to the media company partially owned by the Chinese government came amidst the pandemic that originated from China.”
