Democrat Rep. Jared Golden: ‘Trump Is Going to Win, And I’m OK With That.’

Representative Jared Golden (D-ME) says he believes former President Donald J. Trump will win re-election to the White House this November. In an opinion editorial for the Bangor Daily News, the Maine Democrat said, “While I don’t plan to vote for him, Donald Trump is going to win. And I’m OK with that.”

Golden, who represents a district that voted for Trump by a seven-point margin in 2020, accused Joe Biden and national Democrats of trying to scare voters with their rhetoric about Trump being an existential threat to democracy. “Democrats’ post-debate hand-wringing is based on the idea that a Trump victory is not just a political loss, but a unique threat to our democracy,” the Maine Congressman states, adding: “I reject the premise.”

“Unlike Biden and many others, I refuse to participate in a campaign to scare voters with the idea that Trump will end our democratic system,” Golden continues.

The Maine Democrat strikes a strong anti-Biden tone, signaling—at least in his district—that any association with the 81-year-old incumbent is a political liability. “This election is about the economy, not democracy,” Goldman writes, arguing: “When it comes to our economy, our Congress matters far more than who occupies the White House.”

Golden believes Biden deserves little or no credit for several of his supposed signature pieces of legislation. According to the Democrat Congressman, Biden had little to do with the drafting and passage of the CHIPS Act and Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), which he contends were purely congressional undertakings.

Golden’s opinion editorial, while sure to rankle almost the entirety of the Democratic Party, is a calculated move. The Democrat faces tough re-election prospects, and moving closer to Trump could sway just enough voters for him to retain his seat.

Report: Biden Considering Ending Re-Election Bid If Candidacy Proves Unsalvageable.

Joe Biden is weighing whether to end his 2024 presidential re-election bid if his campaign is unable to recover from last Thursday’s disastrous debate performance. The 81-year-old Democrat told a close ally that his candidacy is likely unsalvageable unless he can quickly convince voters that he is healthy enough to serve as President.

“He knows if he has two more events like that, we’re in a different place,” the individual told The New York Times, referring to Biden’s shocking cognitive impairment during his debate with former President Donald J. Trump. While the ally said that—as of now—Biden intends to continue with the presidential race, they contend that if the octogenarian Democrat has any more concerning cognitive moments in the next few days, that decision will likely change.

The Biden ally argues that the next few days are critical for the Democratic incumbent. Biden is scheduled to sit with ABC News’s George Stephanopoulos on Friday and make campaign stops in several key swing states over the weekend. They contend that if these appearances do not go well, Biden will have no choice but to end his re-election campaign.

Biden White House spokesman Andrew Bates called the reporting by The New York Times “absolutely false.”

The fallout from Biden‘s debate failure has caused panic in Democrat ranks, with some party leaders openly calling for the 81-year-old to drop out of the presidential race.

Meanwhile, other senior Democratic Party officials appear to be trying to encourage their colleagues to consolidate around Vice President Kamala Harris as a replacement candidate—signaling at least some believe the end of Biden’s re-election campaign is inevitable.

Democrat Post-Debate Internal Poll Shows Trump Winning Election In a Landslide.

A leaked internal campaign memo from the progressive pollster OpenLabs suggests Joe Biden’s cognitively impaired debate performance has critically damaged his re-election prospects. OpenLabs surveyed voters for 72 hours after Thursday’s presidential debate and found that Biden, who was already running behind former President Donald J. Trump, now only holds slim leads in three of 14 states considered key to the 81-year-old incumbent’s re-election. Prior to the debate, Biden led in five key states and was competitive in three others.

The group’s pre-debate data had Biden leading in Colorado, Minnesota, Maine, New Mexico, and Virginia. Additionally, the OpenLabs data showed the Democrat within striking distance in New Hampshire, Wisconsin, and the Nebraska 2nd Congressional District. In total, these states put Biden within the range of an Electoral College victory, with states like Michigan and Pennsylvania being competitive.

However, in the three days following the debate, voter opinion of Biden shifted dramatically—fueled in part by concerns that the octogenarian is cognitively incapable of serving as President. Trump now leads in all but three of the 14 target states. Even more concerning for Democrats is that Trump is well within the margin of error in Colorado, Minnesota, and Maine.

Should the Biden campaign’s free fall continue, with Trump sweeping all 14 target states, the America First leader could secure a stunning 358 electoral votes in November. Biden, meanwhile, would only muster 180 electoral votes—with Democrats likely suffering extensive losses in down-ballot races as well.

The OpenLabs memo notes that even prior to the debate, Biden was running four points below his 2020 numbers.

ICYMI: Tucker Warns Biden Is ‘Done,’ America in ‘Legitimate Danger’ if Panicking Dems Jail Trump.

Tucker Carlson has declared Joe Biden is “done” after his disastrous debate against Donald Trump, as “Too many prominent Democrats have suggested he’s brain damaged.”

“They can’t walk that back. They have to remove him, and they will,” said the former Fox News host.

“The only question is when. If they’re smart, they’ll do it immediately. If Kamala’s going to be the nominee, she might as well be the president first,” Carlson continued. “That leaves the question of Trump, and his sentencing on July 11. Biden’s collapse makes this a much more perilous moment than it was. At this point Trump is not just the Republican candidate, but effectively the presumptive president,” he suggested.

“If you’re going to put him in jail, it had better be for a very serious crime that everyone agrees he committed. Otherwise you risk destroying the system completely and forever. We’re in legitimate danger,” he warned, adding, “Democrats need to pull back.”

Flaws in the Democrat-led Justice Department’s handling of a classified documents case against Trump, the recent Supreme Court ruling on presidential immunity, and the collapse of Democrat District Attorney Fani Willis‘s RICO case against Trump in Georgia mean he is unlikely to be tried for anything beyond Alvin Bragg’s Manhattan case before the election.

The Manhattan conviction is highly dubious and some legal analysts predict it will be reversed on appeal. Still, it could result in significant prison time if compromised Biden donor judge Juan Merchan chooses to be vindictive.

However, the Manhattan sentencing date Carlson references has already been pushed back to September. This follows Supreme Court rulings that have thrown the conviction into jeopardy.

DATA: Trump Jumps to Six-Point Lead, Voters Increasingly See Biden as Unfit for Office.

Voter concerns over Joe Biden‘s fitness for public office have worsened following last Thursday’s presidential debate. A Harvard/Harris survey conducted in the immediate aftermath of the debate shows an over 10-point decline in those who believe Biden can execute his duties as president. Meanwhile, former President Donald J. Trump leads the 81-year-old Democrat with 47 percent to Biden’s 41 percent nationally. With “leaners” included, Trump clears 50 percent of the national vote.

Two-thirds of respondents say they have serious doubts that Biden is mentally fit enough to serve as president, a 12-point increase from the May Harvard/Harris poll. An additional 74 percent of respondents believe Biden is too old to continue serving in office, an increase of 11 points from last month. Among independent voters, 79 percent doubt Biden is fit for office. Additionally, 81 percent of independents say he’s too old to serve as president.

The post-debate survey offers little in the way of good news for Democrats in light of Biden appearing cognitively impaired throughout the nationally televised event. Nearly half of respondents said Trump appeared to better grasp the issues than Biden. Just 32 percent said they see Biden as more electable, compared to 48 percent for Trump.

With just over 100 days until the November election, the data suggests that Trump has largely consolidated his support among the Republican base. Just 16 percent of Republican respondents say they are still weighing their choices. Conversely, nearly 30 percent of Democrats still say they’re unsure about casting a ballot for Joe Biden.

Immigration and inflation continue to dominate voter concerns. The economy overall ranks third in voter concern.

Biden Apologists Spread Conspiracy About Russian Energy Beam Scrambling His Brain During Trump Debate.

Apologists for Joe Biden have once again turned to Russia conspiracies, suggesting the 81-year-old’s brain may have been scrambled by a Russian energy weapon during his disastrous debate against Donald Trump.

Igor Sushko, a Ukraine-born American social media personality, claims a “Scientist whose previous work included directed energy beam research for the U.S. intelligence community said Biden’s symptoms during the CNN debate made him think of the Havana Syndrome.”

Havana Syndrome is a condition afflicting some U.S. diplomats and intelligence officials. Several victims blame their symptoms, similar to “early Alzheimer’s,” on Russian agents secretly zapping their heads with acoustic energy beams.

Sushko relied on Yuri Shvets, a former KGB spy who defected to the U.S., as his source. Shvets was also the main source for American Kompromat, a 2021 book alleging Trump has been in the KGB’s pocket since the 1970s. The far-left Guardian dismissed the book as a “salacious” compendium of “unconfirmed gossip” and unsubstantiated claims.

A Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) investigation found no evidence that “a sustained global campaign by a hostile power” is responsible for Havana Syndrome. National Institutes of Health (NIH) research found no evidence people with Havana Syndrome have brain damage consistent with energy beam attacks.

Recent studies have attributed the condition to emotional trauma.

Trump’s Sentencing Has Been Delayed – Here’s The New Date.

The July 11 sentencing of former President Donald J. Trump is being delayed until September 18 after two U.S. Supreme Court decisions. In a letter sent to Judge Juan Merchan on Tuesday, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said his office was not opposed to a motion by attorneys for the former president asking to delay the sentencing hearing.

Trump‘s legal team asked the judge late last night for leave until July 10 to file a motion to set aside the verdict based on the Supreme Court’s ruling in Trump v. United States. According to the high court, official communications between a president and government officials—pertaining to official acts—cannot be used as evidence against them in a criminal trial. This would effectively rule some of the evidence presented by Bragg in the New York trial inadmissible.

“Although we believe defendant’s arguments to be without merit, we do not oppose his request for leave to file and his putative request to adjourn sentencing pending determination of his motion,” Bragg states. He adds: “We respectfully request a deadline of July 24, 2024—two weeks after defendant’s requested deadline—to file and serve a response.”

Judge Merchan responded late Tuesday that former President Trump’s sentencing hearing would be moved to September 18.

ERLINGER.

In addition to its ruling in Trump v. United States, the Supreme Court‘s decision in Erlinger v. United States could also impact Trump’s conviction.

In Erlinger, the court reaffirmed that a jury must be unanimous in its findings on a criminal conviction, even on underlying predicate crimes. Before former President Trump‘s conviction in late May, Judge Merchan had instructed jurors that they did not have to come to a unanimous decision on the underlying predicate crimes that allowed Bragg to revive the 34 counts against Trump for allegedly falsifying business records.

WATCH: Hysterical Rachel Maddow Says SCOTUS Has Authorized Trump’s ‘Death Squads.’

Rachel Maddow, the MSNBC host and arch-Russiagate conspiracist, is claiming the Supreme Court has authorized Donald Trump to send “right-wing death squads” after his opponents with its ruling on presidential immunity.

“Donald Trump and his counsel asked for this 100 percent absolute immunity thing, which was insane. I would say they got 105 percent of what they were asking for,” she said of the ruling, which guts the lawfare prosecutions Joe Biden’s Justice Department is bringing against the America First leader.

“This is a death squad ruling,” Maddow alleged. “This is a ruling that says that as long as you can construe it as an official or quasi-official act, you can do absolutely anything—absolutely anything—and never be held accountable, not only while you are President, but forever,” she added, claiming Trump has previously “activated pro-Trump paramilitary groups.”

She concluded, “If you have somebody who is a criminal or is authoritarian-minded when they get in there armed with this ruling, there is nothing they cannot do.”

In fact, the Supreme Court ruling is clear that a President only has a presumption in favor of immunity from prosecution when “exercising his core constitutional powers,” which do not include sending “death squads” after U.S. citizens.

Presidents also remain accountable outside the regular court system through constitutionally proper impeachment proceedings in Congress.

Presenter Tells Biden to ‘Hurry Up and Have Trump Murdered’ After SCOTUS Immunity Ruling.

David Aaronovitch, a BBC presenter and columnist for The Times of London, is calling on Joe Biden to “hurry up and have Trump murdered on the basis that he is a threat to America’s security” following the Supreme Court’s ruling that Presidents cannot be prosecuted for “official acts.”

“The President… may not be prosecuted for exercising his core constitutional powers, and he is entitled, at a minimum, to a presumptive immunity from prosecution for all his official acts,” Chief Justice John Roberts explained in the ruling, which has major implications for the Biden regime’s lawfare prosecutions of Trump over January 6.

Aaronovitch, who hosts The Briefing Room news show on BBC Radio 4, is adopting the hysterical interpretation of the ruling by dissenting liberal justice Sonia Sotomayor. She claims it empowers Presidents to “[order] the Navy’s Seal Team 6 to assassinate a political rival” or “Organize a military coup to hold onto power.”

However, this is clearly inaccurate, as the ruling only immunizes the President against prosecution for “exercising his core constitutional powers.” These do not include powers to assassinate U.S. citizens at will or overthrow other branches of government in a military coup.

Moreover, the ruling clearly states that Congress can still remove the President’s immunity through the constitutional impeachment process. This is standard practice in the European Parliament and many European legislatures, where even low-level lawmakers often enjoy immunity unless there is a vote to remove it.

FLASHBACK: MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough Calls ‘This Version of Biden, Intellectually, the Best Biden Ever.’

As recently as March, MSNBC host Joe Scarborough declared Joe Biden not just “cogent” but “better than he’s ever been, intellectually [and] analytically.” His Pravda-like praise of the Dear Leader, criticized at the time, appears even less credible after a disastrous debate performance.

“I’ve said it for years now, [Biden] is cogent—but I undersold it when I said he was cogent. He’s far beyond cogent,” Scarborough said in March.

“Start your tape right now because I’m about to tell you the truth, and eff you if you can’t handle the truth. This version of Biden, intellectually, analytically, is the best Biden ever, not a close second, and I’ve known him for years,” he insisted.

Scarborough made the remarks shortly after a Justice Department report by special counsel Robert Hur recommended against charging Biden for mishandling classified materials in part because he is “an elderly man with a poor memory.”

Post-debate, however, Scarborough is pushing for Biden to step aside, asking, “If he were CEO, and he turned in a performance like that, would any corporation in America keep him on as CEO?”

“I fear Donald Trump will be the next president of the United States unless things change,” the MSNBC host mourned.

Scarborough paints a second Trump administration in hysterical terms, claiming the America First leader will exile, imprison, or execute his opponents if he returns to the White House.
