Governor Ron DeSantis’s “Never Back Down PAC” spokesman Steve Cortes has split with the newly minted presidential candidate over the McCarthy-Biden debt deal looming over Congress.
DeSantis tweeted on Sunday: “Our country is careening toward bankruptcy, and after this debt ceiling ‘deal’ it will still be careening toward bankruptcy. The deal green lights $4 trillion in new debt over the next year and a half, locks in inflated levels of spending from COVID, and keeps 98% of the Biden IRS expansion.”

His view is widely shared, including by this website. But his “National Spokesman” Steve Cortes disagrees, in a strange moment of internal division for the DeSantis team, and one that may deepen the turmoil in Tallahassee.
Cortes wrote: “Conservatives should welcome the deal that the GOP House negotiated against an obstinate Biden Administration… this agreement represents a worthy deal that should receive the support of patriotic populists.”
Cortes does accept there is more to be done, and did not sign the op-ed in his capacity as Never Back Down spokesman. The news comes as former Cruz strategist Jeff Roe removed long time DeSantis advisor Phil Cox from the campaign, after a horrific week for the campaign.
Senate Democrats voted late on Wednesday to declare the two sets of articles of impeachment against President Joe Biden‘s Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayokras to be “unconstitutional.” This move ended the Senate’s impeachment trial before lawmakers could hear evidence presented by House impeachment managers.
The two votes, orchestrated by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), were adopted along party lines—except for the first set of articles on which Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) abstained. Schumer’s procedural move marked an anti-climatic end to the Mayorkas impeachment process, which began in February of this year when the House of Representatives adopted the two formal articles against Biden‘s Homeland Security Secretary.

Republican members of the Senate attempted to head off – or at least drag out – the Democrat’s maneuver to end the trial with a series of procedural votes and constitutional points of order. Despite the efforts of Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Mike Lee (R-UT), John Kennedy (R-LA), and even Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to shame Democrats into allowing a trial to move forward, Schumer held his caucus together and defeated the Republican procedural moves.
Among the Democrats backing Schumer’s votes to deem the articles of impeachment as “unconstitutional” were vulnerable Sens. Jon Tester (D-MT) and Sherrod Brown (D-OH).

Hundreds of illegalaliens marched through New York City on Tuesday, eventually massing in front of City Hall. The protestors demanded the city extend a program housing illegal immigrants in hotels instead of temporary shelter facilities and provide them with work permits. According to a report from Savanah Hernandez, who was present at the protest, the crowd was composed largely of French-speaking single males who appeared to be from Haiti and Africa.
The protest was in response to a New York City Council oversight hearing, which aimed to address the quality of life and experiences of Black immigrants in the city. Council member Alexa Avilés echoed the protestors‘ calls in a post on X (formerly Twitter), stating: “We must uproot the anti-Blackness that plagues our systems of care—this work requires dedication, creativity, and a city willing to fund our short, mid, and long-term needs.”

Protestors expressed their discontent with a recent city decision to relocate them from luxury hotels, where they had previously been accommodated, to city shelters. Additionally, the illegal immigrants claimed the city’s 30-day limit on shelter access would leave many of them without housing options in the near future. New York City, which currently provides housing and other services for around 67,500 illegal immigrants, has struggled with the financial costs caused by the Biden government’s bordercrisis.
Work permits were also a top issue for the demonstrators. Democrat politicians on both the local and federal levels have pushed for increasing workpermits as a partial solution to the ballooning taxpayer burden that providing food and shelter for illegal immigrants has brought. Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson has pushed the Biden White House to begin issuing additional permits. Meanwhile, several Democrats in the U.S. Senate are pushing legislation to grant permits to illegal immigrants working in agriculture.

The Smithsonian Institution has eliminated drag shows from its 2024 programming following an internal investigation. The investigation was reportedly sparked by a question from a Republican Congresswoman last year.
Responding to a question from Rep. Stephanie Bice (R-OK) on how drag events further the Smithsonian’s mission during a House Administration Committee hearing on December 12, 2023, Lonnie Bunch, the Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution, suggested it may not be suitable to expose children to drag shows and pledged to look into the matter.

This reportedly sparked an internal “drag audit,” resulting in the elimination of drag performances from the Smithsonian’s 2024 calendar. Smithsonian staff members who wished to remain anonymous have interpreted this as an act of censorship by Bunch and his team.
The Smithsonian has yet to confirm Bunch’s stance on drag events or their inclusion in their future programming. The prospective cancellation of drag performances in June would be a first during Bunch’s five-year tenure as the Smithsonian’s secretary. The Smithsonian hosted at least eight drag performances during Bunch’s time in office, primarily in connection with New York City and Washington, D.C.’s Pride Week. The most recent was held on June 23, 2023, at the Diker Pavilion, a New York City facility of the National Museum of the American Indian.
One drag performer who was planning an event in collaboration with the Smithsonian before its abrupt cancellation was Wyn Wylie, a far-left, anti-white extremist who performs under the moniker ‘Pattie Gonia.’

A 16-year-old student, Christian McGhee, was suspended from Central Davidson High School in Lexington, North Carolina, after using the term “illegal alien” during class.
The incident, popularized by Libs of TikTok, unfolded after a teacher used the term “alien” in an assignment. McGhee, according to local media, queried whether the teacher was referring to “space aliens or illegal aliens without green cards.”

This resulted in a male student taking “offense” and attempting to instigate a fight. McGhee’s “words were deemed by administrative staff to be offensive and disrespectful to classmates who are Hispanic,” and he was suspended.
“Because of his question, our son was disciplined and given THREE days OUT of school suspension for ‘racism,'” complained the student’s mother, Leah.
“He is devastated and concerned that the racism label on his school record will harm his future goal of receiving a track scholarship. We are concerned that he will fall behind in his classes due to being absent for three consecutive days.”
She noted the term is used in “federal code” and “heard frequently on many news broadcasts.”
During the latest State of the Union address, President Joe Biden referred to Laken Riley being “killed by an illegal.” Some in his party, including Nancy Pelosi, admonished him for the remark, saying he should have called Riley’s alleged murderer “undocumented.”

Piker, a Turkish-American, has a history of engaging in radical politics and making threats against those he deems his political enemies. The former producer for the progressive internet show The Young Turks, Piker attacked Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) — who lost an eye while serving in Afghanistan — during a Twitch stream in 2019.
“What the fuck is wrong with this dude? Didn’t he go to war and like literally lose his eye because some mujahideen, a brave fucking soldier fucked his eye hole with their dick?” Piker ranted to his viewers. He followed up his comments on Crenshaw, declaring: “America deserved 9/11.”
Despite being a self-described ‘leftist’ and ‘democratic socialist,’ Piker has lived a life of comfort and luxury. His lucrative social media enterprises on YouTube and Twitch have bolstered his family’s wealth, allowing Piker to purchase a $2.7 million mansion in West Hollywood, California, in 2021. Piker is the nephew of the founder of The Young Turks show and radical progressive activist Cenk Uygur.

The collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, Maryland, which forced the partial closure of the city’s port, could cost the state almost $200 million a day in lost economic activity. Commercial shipping activity at the Port of Baltimore has been severely disrupted since late March when a cargo ship allided with the bridge, causing it to collapse into the shipping channel below.
Scott Cowan, president of the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) Local 333, which operates out of the port, says the partial closure will severely impact his members. “There’s about 2,400 ILA union longshoremen in the Port of Baltimore. And last year alone, we worked over four million man hours in the port,” Cowan said in a recent interview. He added: “So it’s a big impact to the longshoremen and their families and it’s a catastrophic event.”

According to Cowan, his longshoremen and connected industries generate millions of dollars a day in economicactivity for the State of Maryland. “It’s not just the 2,400 ILA longshoreman, you got almost 20,000 direct jobs attached to this port and 100,000 indirect jobs,” he said before concluding: “It’s a big economic impact to the state of Maryland to the tune of $191 million a day.” The ILA local president also said he and his members have been given no indication by the state or federal government when regular activity at the port will resume.
The National Pulse previously reported that President Joe Biden’s allies on Capitol Hill and in corporate America have tried to use the bridge collapse to push for the importation of additional cheap immigrant workers. This labor is often used to undercut union worker wages or replaceunion jobs — like the longshoremen — entirely.

Even the globalist, Rupert Murdoch-owned Fox News is admitting that far-left activists have attempted to infiltrate the jury in former President Donald Trump‘s New York ‘hush money’ trial. Last night, Jesse Waters — a primetime host with the anti-Trump Murdoch’s network — pointed to instances where the former President’s legal team exposed several potential jurors as having lied about their politicalbias and social media posts regarding Trump.
“Trump’s legal team was given the names of potential jurors, and after googling them, discovered there were undercover activists trying to sneak on to the jury,” Waters said.

JURORS MISLED THE COURT.
The legal team for former President Donald Trump was able to strike several prospective jurors with cause before they could be seated. In almost every instance, the jury candidate had attempted to mislead the court about their knowledge of or bias against the former President.
One potential juror told the court they were impartial, but Trump’s attorneys quickly provided the court with social media posts by that juror stating, “Donald Trump should be locked up.” In another instance, a prospective juror said they couldn’t remember making any negative posts about Trump. Again, Trump’s attorneys produced evidence of social media posts showing the exact opposite.
Another juror, who works in cybersecurity, told the court that she could be unbiased. However, after her dismissal, she was interviewed outside the courthouse and admitted she lied. “It’s very difficult for anyone, really in this country, to not come to this with prior opinions,” she said before continuing: “We all have prior opinions about the defendant unless you’ve been living in a cardboard box.”
‘REMEMBER, THIS IS A MANHATTAN JURY.’
“Remember, this is a Manhattan jury. It [Manhattan] went 87 percent for Biden. And the judge who is overseeing the selection process is a Biden donor whose family was paid by the Biden campaign,” Waters said. He continued: “Yesterday, fifty white women, wearing masks, fled the courtroom claiming they couldn’t be fair to Trump.”
“Anyone wearing a mask at this point is not an impartial juror,” he added.

“The Manhattan DA, Alvin Bragg, only backed off after an angry public campaign from store owners and their supporters united behind Mr. Alba and his Constitutional rights. The Bodega and Small Business Group appreciates President Trump’s support on behalf of tougher enforcement for retail thieves that are making our stores more dangerous and less profitable at the same time.
“President Trump’s visit and support comes at a time when our own state legislators have refused to strengthen the laws against repeat retail theft offenders: ‘Legislative Democrats have formally rejected Gov. Kathy Hochul’s proposal to make it a felony for assaulting a retail worker, a reflection of how the party remains split over criminal justice issues and how to address voters’ concerns over public safety.’
BSBG president, Fransisco Marte, said: “The visit of President Trump highlights just how much we have lost the way in New York. It is our hope that a former president coming to support NYC’s smallest stores, and also to demonstrate his support for stronger laws and enforcement, will spur our own elected officials to action.”
