REPORT: Obama Makes ‘Regular Calls’ to Biden, His Chief of Staff, and Other Top Officials.

Former President Barack Obama continues to have an outsized role in President Joe Biden’s White House, according to a revealing new admission by the New York Times. Once described as a “conspiracy theory” the Times now reports that aside from frequent chats with the 81-year-old Biden, the former Democrat President holds regular calls with White House chief of staff Jeff Zients and other senior officials. The report adds further fuel to accusations that Biden government is being run, at least in part, by Obama — effectively granting him a third term in office.

On the campaign trail, former President Donald Trump — the 2024 Republican presidential nominee — has routinely stated he believes that Obama is effectively serving a third term in office through the Biden government. The National Pulse reported in November last year that the former Democrat President spearheaded the Biden White House’s artificial intelligence (AI) policy agenda. Before Biden’s executive order on AI was released, Obama held regular Zoom calls with Big Tech company executives and White House policymakers.

A January Rassmussen poll suggests that most American voters agree with Donald Trump’s assertions that Obama is the real power behind the throne in the Biden government. The poll indicated that 53 percent of respondents concurred with the statement that Biden is “a puppet for a progressive left committee… headed by Obama.”

The New York Times report also revealed that former Presidents Obama and Bill Clinton will take on more prominent roles in Biden’s re-election campaign as surrogates, advisers, and fundraisers. The move comes amid growing voter concerns over the 81-year-old Biden’s physical health and cognitive state.

First Gay Surrogate Parent Faces Child Sex Charges.

Barrie Drewitt-Barlow, Britain’s first gay surrogate parent, along with his partner, is charged with a growing list of serious criminal allegations, including child sex offenses, rape, and human trafficking.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: The United Kingdom’s first gay surrogate parent has been charged with child sex offenses along with his partner.
💬 KEY QUOTE: “It is alleged they have both targeted young males, they have recruited them, they have befriended them, they have groomed them.” – Prosecutor Serena Berry
📺 DETAIL: Barrie Drewitt-Barlow, Britain’s first gay surrogate parent, and his “husband,” Scott Drewitt-Barlow, have been charged with child sex offenses, rape, and human trafficking. The pair appeared at Chelmsford Crown Court on Monday. The charges relate to alleged incidents between 2013 and 2026. A trial has been scheduled for January 18, 2027. Essex Police announced 18 new charges against the pair, adding to earlier accusations. In 1999, Barrie Drewitt-Barlow, along with his then-partner Tony, became one of the first same-sex couples in Britain to have their names recorded on children’s birth certificates following surrogacy facilitated by a clinic in California. The pair own Maldon and Tiptree FC, a non-league football (soccer) club, and have maintained a public profile from various business ventures, such as property development, and reality TV appearances. The initial charges against Barrie Drewitt-Barlow include four counts of rape of a victim aged 16 or over, three counts of sexual assault on a male, and two counts of arranging travel for exploitation purposes. The additional charges include five counts of rape, four counts of sexual assault, causing an individual to engage in sexual activity without consent, causing or inciting sexual activity, two counts of sexual activity with a child, and two counts of paying for sexual services of a child.
🎯 IMPACT: The allegations of grooming and abusing young men have led to the pair’s suspension by the Football Association, the governing body of English football. The allegations have also resulted in a documentary about their football club being scrapped.
📺 FLASHBACK: In early May, it was reported that police searched the Drewitt-Barlow Stadium, home to Maldon and Tiptree FC, and a mansion linked to Barrie Drewitt-Barlow as part of an investigation into human trafficking, sexual exploitation, and rape. Barrie Drewitt-Barlow and Scott Drewitt-Barlow, aged 57 and 32 respectively, were arrested on suspicion of rape, human trafficking, and administering a noxious substance.

Migrant Sexually Assaults 13-Year-Old Girl on Train.

A migrant from Tajikistan has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for sexually assaulting a vulnerable girl on a train traveling to London.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: Abdulmanon Aliev, a 50-year-old migrant from Tajikistan, was sentenced to 12 years in prison after being found guilty of sexually assaulting a vulnerable girl on a train in Britain. The incident occurred on June 16, 2022, on a train traveling from Southend to London.
📺 DETAIL: Aliev, who was living in Peckham, south-east London, reportedly used a translator app to speak to the girl before following her when she tried to leave and blocking her in her new seat, where he carried out a prolonged sexual assault until the train reached London Fenchurch Street, where she managed to escape and raise the alarm. He was arrested 11 days later in Peckham by British Transport Police (BTP) and was later found guilty in April of attempted rape, two counts of assault by penetration, and three counts of sexual assault. He was sentenced on June 23 to 12 years in prison with an additional two years on license, and will remain on the sex offenders register for life.
💬 KEY QUOTE: “Aliev singled out a vulnerable child and subjected her to one of the most abhorrent sexual assaults I’ve ever investigated.” – British Transport Police Detective Constable Elizabeth Cahill
🎯 IMPACT: Aliev’s conviction ensures he will serve 12 years in prison, with an additional two years on license, and he will be a registered sex offender for life. Authorities have emphasized their commitment to taking every sexual offense report seriously and pursuing justice for victims.

U.S. Imposes Sanctions on Five Cuban Entities, Targets Castro Family Member.

The Trump administration has announced fresh sanctions against key entities and individuals tied to Cuba’s communist regime, aiming to cut off financial support for the country’s repressive security apparatus.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: Secretary of State Marco Rubio has announced a new round of sanctions targeting entities and individuals that generate revenue for Cuba’s communist regime.
📺 DETAIL: On Tuesday, Secretary of State Rubio announced sanctions targeting Grupo de Administración Empresarial S.A. (GAESA) and its affiliates. GAESA (known in English as The Business Administration Group) is a megaconglomerate owned and operated by the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces, the country’s military. GAESA controls between 40 and 70 percent of the Cuban economy. It has regularly been characterized as mismanaged, corrupt, and hoarding profits and resources for the Cuban elite. Other sanctioned entities include GeoMinera, a state-operated mining firm that generates revenue for the regime. Other entities hit by the sanctions include two companies that move money on the regime’s behalf, and a logistics company with deep ties to the ruling Communist Party of Cuba. All three are affiliates of GAESA. As for individuals, the wife of Alejandro Castro Espín, son of Raúl Castro, has been hit by the new sanctions. Alejandro Castro Espín has been targeted by previous sanctions already. The sanctions were described in the Secretary of State’s Tuesday announcement as “sweeping sanctions on Cuba, including against persons who support the Cuban regime’s security apparatus and those responsible for repression in Cuba and other threats to U.S. national security.”
💬 KEY QUOTE: “These entities and actors fund, facilitate, or benefit from the regime’s malign activities, both in Cuba and across our hemisphere,” said Secretary of State Marco Rubio in a statement on Tuesday.
🎯 IMPACT: The sanctions aim to weaken the regime’s ability to fund its repressive security apparatus. These sanctions build on previous measures targeting financial institutions and officials accused of supporting left-wing terrorist groups based in Cuba. These sanctions are part of a broader strategy by the Trump administration to aid the Cuban people while isolating the Cuban regime.
📺 FLASHBACK: Back in May, former Cuban President Raúl Castro, brother of the late Fidel Castro, was indicted in the United States. “Over three decades later, we are committed to holding those accountable for the murders of four brave Americans: Carlos Costa, Armando Alejandre Jr., Mario de la Peña, and Pablo Morales. For the first time in nearly 70 years, senior leadership of the Cuban regime has been charged in the United States… if you kill Americans, we will pursue you. No matter who you are. No matter what title you hold,” declared Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche at the time.

Antifa-Linked Anti-ICE Terrorists Sentenced to Up to 100 Years in Federal Prison.

A federal judge handed down lengthy prison sentences to eight terrorists accused of having ties to Antifa, a far-left terrorist organization, after a shooting outside a Texas immigration detention center wounded a police officer.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: Eight people accused of having connections to the far-left terrorist group Antifa have been imprisoned, with sentences ranging from 30 to 100 years.
📺 DETAIL: The eight terrorists were charged by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and were sentenced on Tuesday. The eight were involved a shooting outside an immigration detention center near Dallas, Texas in which a police officer was wounded. Prosecutors called the shooting an act of terrorism. U.S. District Judge Reed O’Connor, one of the judges overseeing the trial, emphasized the seriousness of the attack, calling it “an assault on democracy.” The sentences aim to discourage similar actions from happening in the future, with Judge O’Connor stressing, “The need to deter this type of conduct is high.” Among those sentenced for the shooting at Prairieland Detention Center was Benjamin Song, a former Marine Corps reservist. Song was convicted of firing a gun during a July 4 demonstration and received the harshest sentence of 100 years. The other defendants were sentenced to terms ranging from 30 to 70 years in prison.
💬 KEY QUOTE: “This was not a protest; it was an assault on democracy,” said U.S. District Judge Reed O’Connor during sentencing on Tuesday.
📺 FLASHBACK: The shooting targeted U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The case represents the first time that Antifa members were charged as terrorists. “First time ever: the FBI arrested Antifa-aligned anarchist violent extremists and terrorism charges have been brought for the July 4 Prairieland ICE attack in Texas. Under President Trump’s new authorities we’ve made 20+ arrests,” Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation Kash Patel declared on X (formerly Twitter) at the time.

Farage Demands Elections Regulator Probe Far-Left ‘Hope Not Hate’ for Unlawful Campaigning.

Nigel Farage urged the Electoral Commission to probe Hope Not Hate’s spending during the Makerfield by-election, alleging breaches of electoral law.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has written to the Electoral Commission urging an investigation into far-left activist group Hope Not Hate Ltd’s campaign spending in the recent Makerfield parliamentary by-election (special election), alleging the far-left group exceeded the £700 (~$925) spending limit for local non-party campaigners by distributing leaflets, running targeted digital ads, and sending materials including letters from celebrities to thousands of voters to boost Labour candidate Andy Burnham against Reform’s Rob Kenyon.
📰 DETAIL: Farage argued that such spending should count toward Burnham’s limits and required candidate authorization, while also highlighting unreported donations and loans from its associated charitable trust, Hope Not Hate Charitable Trust (now Hope Unlimited), which provided nearly $1.04 million in grants despite no registered political donations since 2019. The letter raises concerns over potential breaches of electoral law and the integration between the group’s campaigning and charitable arms. This follows Farage’s earlier report of Hope Not Hate to the Charity Commission for unlawful political activism in the same constituency. The organization has faced scrutiny after one of its organizers, former Labour councillor Liron Woodcock-Velleman, pleaded guilty to child sex offenses recently.
💬 KEY QUOTE:Public trust in our elections depends on the rules being followed by everyone.” – Nigel Farage
🎯 IMPACT: If the Electoral Commission finds Hope Not Hate in breach of electoral law, it could lead to significant scrutiny of the group’s activities and potentially affect future campaign regulations and enforcement.

Farage’s Reform Party Pays Off $34 Million in Debt Left by ‘Conservatives’ After Taking Over Local Government.

Reform UK has significantly reduced Leicestershire County Council’s debt, achieving the local government’s lowest debt level in recorded history.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: Leicestershire County Council, led by Nigel Farage’s Reform UK party, has  Council has paid off £26.9 million (~$34.3m) of debt, reducing the local government’s debt to its lowest level in recorded history.
🎯 IMPACT: The debt repayment is expected to save taxpayers money by cutting interest payments and allowing more funds to be allocated to the county’s frontline services.
📰 DETAIL: The debt was inherited from the previous Conservative (Tory) administration, the notionally right-wing party that led Britain’s central government from 2010 to 2024. Reform UK has prioritized financial stability since taking control of the council last year. This anti-debt drive is part of their broader strategy to strengthen the council’s financial position.
💬 KEY QUOTE: “We’ve just paid off £26.9 million of high-interest debt inherited from the previous administration. As a result, Leicestershire County Council’s debt is now at the lowest level in recorded history,” said a Reform council group source.
📺 FLASHBACK: Reform was criticized by opposition politicians for paying a consulting firm £1.4m to identify savings shortly after it took over the council in 2025. Michael Mullaney, leader of the Liberal Democrat group on the council, claimed that “The reality is the council has been cutting its spending for years and if there were more savings to be found, they would have been identified.”

Supreme Court Backs Trump Admin on Stronger Controls for Green Card Migrants.

A Supreme Court decision has strengthened federal border officials’ authority to treat Green Card immigrants as applicants for admission under certain circumstances, marking a significant legal victory for immigration enforcement efforts.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: The Supreme Court ruled 6-3 that federal border officials can treat Green Card holders with certain criminal allegations against them as applicants for admission when returning from foreign travel, even before a conviction is secured. The decision overturns a lower court ruling that required “clear and convincing evidence” before such determinations could be made.
📺 DETAIL: The case involved Muk Choi Lau, a Chinese national and permanent resident who was charged with trademark counterfeiting in New Jersey, traveled to China while awaiting trial, and was subsequently classified as an applicant for admission upon his return to the United States. The Court reversed a lower court’s ruling that had sided with Lau, finding that immigration officials acted within their authority. The decision strengthens the federal government’s ability to scrutinize and potentially remove non-citizens accused of crimes that could trigger deportation proceedings. In dissent, Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, joined by fellow liberals Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan, claimed that the ruling grants the government excessive power over legal immigrants.
💬 KEY QUOTE: “Nothing in the INA required the border officer to have clear and convincing evidence” – Justice Clarence Thomas, writing for the majority
🎯 IMPACT: The ruling reinforces the federal government’s authority to scrutinize Green Card holders returning from abroad, particularly those accused of crimes that could lead to removal proceedings. It also highlights the Trump administration’s broader efforts to strengthen immigration enforcement and expand the scope of federal authority.

Farage’s Party GAINS National Support Following Crunch Election, Labour and ‘Conservatives’ Trailing.

Nigel Farage’s Reform UK party remains the most popular in Britain following a crunch parliamentary by-election (special election) won by Labour’s Andy Burnham, who is expected to replace Sir Keir Starmer as Prime Minister in the coming weeks.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: Reform UK remains Britain’s most popular party in the latest YouGov voting intention poll, conducted 21-22 June, with 25 percent support, ahead of the Conservatives on 20 percent, Labour on 18 percent, the Greens on 15 percent, and the Liberal Democrats on 14 percent. While Labour’s Andy Burnham won a crunch parliamentary by-election (special election) on June 18 by a wide margin, Reform has gained a point of support since the vote nationally, while Labour has lost a point.
📰 DETAIL: The poll comes just after Prime Minister and Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer announced his resignation, following mounting pressure from within his party after a series of poor electoral performances against Reform, particularly in local elections in May. Starmer’s departure paves the way for Andy Burnham to succeed him, with senior Labor figures rallying behind the Greater Manchester politician in an effort to halt their party’s decline. However, the latest survey suggests that Nigel Farage’s assessment that Burnham won the June 18 by-election in a large party because voters believed returning Burnham to Parliament would “get Starmer out,” with YouGov recording no increase in Labour’s national support.
📈 DATA: Reform UK increased its support by one percent from the previous YouGov voting intention poll. The formerly governing Conservatives also saw a one percent rise, while Labour experienced a one percent decline. The Elon Musk-backed Restore Britain, an anti-Trump splinter faction of Reform led by former Reform lawmaker Rupert Lowe, has dropped one point to just three percent support.
🎯 IMPACT: The polling suggests that, so far, Labour has not seen a boost from the election of Andy Burnham to Parliament and his expected takeover of the government, or from the resignation of Sir Keir Starmer.

Tehran Denies Claims by Vance and Other U.S. Officials of Iranian Consent to Nuclear Inspections.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry has publicly denied assertions by the United States that the Islamic Republic has agreed to allow international inspectors to examine its nuclear facilities, raising questions about the recent peace talks in Switzerland.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: Iran’s Foreign Ministry has denied that it has agreed to allow international nuclear inspectors into the Islamic Republic, contradicting claims from the United States.
📺 DETAIL: According to Esmail Baghaei, spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, representatives of the Islamic Republic did not meet with Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), an intergovernmental agency within the United Nations (UN) promoting the peaceful use of nuclear energy. Baghaei also claimed that no arrangements have been made for the IAEA to inspect Iran’s nuclear facilities. This follows comments from Vice President J.D. Vance, who said that Iran had agreed to admit IAEA inspectors during peace talks in Switzerland last week. Instead, on Tuesday, Iranian officials claimed that any arrangements regarding its nuclear facilities would be dealt with in a separate process established in the current memorandum of understanding’s 60-day negotiation framework. Despite rejecting claims that nuclear inspections were discussed, Iran maintained that it is adhering to its safeguarding obligations under the Non-Proliferation Treaty.
💬 KEY QUOTE: “Neither have we had a meeting with the director general of the IAEA, nor is there a plan for agency inspections of Iran’s damaged nuclear facilities… There is no protocol for this issue.” – Esmail Baghaei, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman.
🎯 IMPACT: The conflicting accounts of the peace talks in Switzerland imply a significant gap in understanding between the U.S. and Iran, despite a memorandum of understanding issued earlier this month.
📺 FLASHBACK: Earlier in June, it was reported that the Trump administration had outlined a memorandum of understanding with Iran, including waivers on Iranian oil exports and $300 billion for reconstruction and economic development, alongside a 60-day negotiation period to finalize terms regarding the fate of Iran’s nuclear program.

Labour Drawing Up Plans to Force Social Media to Prioritize BBC and Other Government-Approved News Outlets.

The British government is drawing up plans to force social media platforms to prioritize “trusted” public service media, such as the BBC, raising concerns about potential government influence over online news reporting.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: The British left-wing Labour government has proposed new measures to force social media platforms to prioritize content from public service media (PSM), including the BBC, as part of efforts to combat “misinformation.” A Green Paper published June 22 suggests requiring platforms to make so-called “trusted” news sources more visible, even if users do not actively seek them out.
📺 DETAIL: The proposal, outlined in the government’s new media Green Paper, comes as growing numbers of Britons, particularly younger audiences, turn to social media as their primary source of news. Ministers argue that easier access to “trusted” and regulated news providers is necessary to counter the spread of false information online, while also helping public service broadcasters remain competitive in an increasingly digital media landscape. The plan forms part of a wider review of British broadcasting that also includes proposals for a transition to Internet-based television and expanded free access to major sporting events. Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy argued “trusted” news sources play a vital role in supporting democracy and social cohesion. The move is part of a broader trend in Britain, which has seen censorship of parts of the Internet under the Online Safety Act, including policies that impact Americans. As a result, the Trump administration sanctioned several former government officials and NGO leaders in Britain late last year over the issue.
💬 KEY QUOTE: “It is vital that we make sure that people have better access to trusted and accurate news and that our regulated public service media is seen and heard in the fierce battle against mis and disinformation,” said Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy.
🎯 IMPACT: If implemented, the proposal could significantly shape how Britons see news online, likely favoring state-backed outlets over independent or alternative media. Notably, the BBC is widely regarded as harboring institutional left-wing bias, including by its own veteran broadcasters.
📺 FLASHBACK: Public service broadcasters like the BBC have faced criticism in recent years over bias and declining public trust. President Donald J. Trump took legal action against the broadcaster after the U.S. elections in 2024, after its flagship Panorama program broadcast a clip of a January 6, 2021, speech he had given, which had been doctored to make it look as though he was calling for violence.
