Trump Tariff Revenues Hit Record $31 Billion in August 2025.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: The U.S. collected over $30 billion in tariff revenues in August, marking the highest monthly total so far for 2025.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: The Treasury Department, President Donald J. Trump, Attorney General Pam Bondi, and the Department of Justice (DOJ).

📍WHEN & WHERE: August 2025, with data released Thursday, and tariffs remaining in place through at least October 14.

🎯IMPACT: Tariff revenues for 2025 have already surpassed $183 billion, cutting the budget and trade deficits.

IN FULL

The Trump administration collected over $30 billion in tariff revenue in August alone, marking the highest monthly total of 2025 so far, even with data from the last three days of the month not yet factored in. According to Treasury Department figures released last week, total tariff revenue for the year has already surged past $183 billion, more than double what had been collected by this point last year.

Revenue has climbed fast in recent months, from $17.4 billion in April, to $23.9 billion in May, $28 billion in June, and $29 billion in July. At this pace, the government could match last year’s full-year tariff take in just a few months.

The surge comes as President Donald J. Trump’s trade agenda gains traction again, both economically and legally. Despite a federal appeals court ruling that said Trump overstepped by using emergency powers to impose global tariffs, the court has allowed the tariffs to stay in place through October 14. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that the Department of Justice (DOJ) is appealing the anti-tariff decision to the Supreme Court.

Trump’s tariffs, aimed at levelling the playing field for American workers against sweatshop economies and countries that price out American expoirts through tariff and non-tariff trade barriers, are already “reshoring” jobs to the United States. For instance, GE Appliances recently announced a $3 billion investment to move manufacturing from China and Mexico back to the U.S. Products like refrigerators and water heaters will now be built in states like Kentucky, Georgia, and Tennessee, bringing over 1,000 new jobs. CEO Kevin Nolan said the goal is “manufacturing close to our customers.”

The U.S. goods trade deficit has seen major improvement, narrowing from $96.4 billion in May to $86.0 billion in June, thanks to falling imports, a sign that the tariffs are working as intended.

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) now projects Trump’s tariff policy could slash the federal deficit by $4 trillion over the next decade, including $3.3 trillion in primary deficit reduction and $700 billion in interest savings. Customs duties alone could reach $200 billion by year’s end.

Conway and Comstock Are Funding Far-Left Campaign Targeting ICE Agents.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: Corporate filings have uncovered a campaign by George Conway and Barbara Comstock funding anti-ICE posters urging agents to reveal their identities.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: George Conway, Barbara Comstock, Home of the Brave USA, Inc., U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem, and The National Pulse Editor-in-Chief Raheem Kassam.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Recent weeks, at locations including bus stops in Washington, D.C.

đź’¬KEY QUOTE: “It was just a couple of years ago, wasn’t it, that it was actually the political left screaming about putting masks on, and now there are signs saying take your masks off.” – Raheem Kassam

🎯IMPACT: The poster campaign increased safety concerns for ICE personnel, with potential for further violence against agents.

IN FULL

Corporate filings have revealed that George Conway and Barbara Comstock are key figures funding a far-left flyer campaign urging Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to “take off your masks” and face public scrutiny, despite the fact that this would open them to attacks.

The posters, funded by Home of the Brave USA, Inc., have appeared at bus stops and on buildings in Washington, D.C., with Raheem Kassam, Editor-in-Chief of The National Pulse, noting in a recent video report, “It’s funny, it was just a couple of years ago, wasn’t it, that it was actually the political left screaming about putting masks on, and now there are signs saying take your masks off,” Kassam remarked, noting that ICE “have to remain masked a lot of the time for fear of reprisals simply for doing their jobs.”

Conway is a vocal critic of President Donald J. Trump and co-founded the Lincoln Project, alongside other Republicans-in-name-only (RINOs), such as predator John Weaver. Notably, Conway persuaded writer E. Jean Carroll to pursue President Trump over an alleged sexual assault decades ago, one of many attacks she claims to have been subjected to by at least eight men.

Comstock is a former Republican congresswoman and current Baker Donelson lobbyist, known for establishing the American Consumer & Investor Institute in 2023. The aforementioned filing highlights their involvement in the organization behind the anti-ICE poster campaign.

The effort to unmask ICE agents raises safety concerns, with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) noting doxxing incidents in Portland, Oregon, where anarchist groups exposed ICE officers’ personal information. DHS Secretary Kristi Noem has pledged to prosecute those involved, citing risks from gangs like MS-13 using such data to intimidate or even kill personnel involved in immigration enforcement efforts, as well as their families.

Notably, ICE and other federal law enforcement are already being targeted in increasingly violent attacks, with a sniper attack outside one ICE facility seeing a responding local police officer shot in the neck.

Newsom’s California Serving 10,000 Illegals in State University System.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: The chairman of the California State Student Association (CSSA) revealed that the California State University (CSU) system serves 10,000 illegal alien students.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: CSSA Chair Aaron Villarreal and representatives from the 23 CSU campuses.

📍WHEN & WHERE: California, announcement made earlier this week.

đź’¬KEY QUOTE: “The CSU is proud to serve nearly 10,000 undocumented [sic] students. The highest number at any university system in the country.” – Aaron Villarreal

🎯IMPACT: Villarreal’s boast raises questions about the use of taxpayer dollars and compliance with immigration laws within the CSU system.

IN FULL

Two out of every 100 students in the California State University (CSU) system are illegal immigrants, according to the California State Student Association (CSSA). The revelation, made on Wednesday, comes as students and administrators are vowing to resist the Trump White House’s immigration enforcement actions and efforts to prevent taxpayer dollars from funding tuition for illegal immigrants instead of American citizens.

“The CSU is proud to serve nearly 10,000 undocumented [sic] students. The highest number at any university system in the country, ” CSSA chairman Aaron Villarreal stated. “These students are our classmates, our colleagues, and our friends. They contribute in our classrooms, lead in our student government, and give back to our communities.”

“Yet they carry the extra burden that most of us never have to think about. The constant fear that immigration enforcement could interrupt their lives, their families’ lives, and their education,” Villarreal added.

The CSSA serves as a representative body for the 461,612 students across the CSU system’s 23 campuses in California. According to Villarreal, the student organization is pushing university administrations to enact policies ensuring affordable tuition, housing, and expanded access to financial aid—and that illegal immigrants must be provided the same access to these resources as U.S. citizens.

California State University campuses admit students regardless of their immigration status, sparking criticism that the Golden State is prioritizing non-citizens over Americans. Notably, California’s large illegal immigrant population has already placed severe strains on other state resources.

The National Pulse reported in March that Governor Gavin Newsom (D) was forced to seek a multi-billion-dollar loan from his state’s general fund to cover Medicaid costs that have been sent soaring by the state’s expansion of healthcare coverage to illegal immigrants. The $2.8 billion general fund loan request followed on the heels of an initial $3.4 billion request to cover an earlier shortfall in state healthcare program Medi-Cal.

Trump Opens Another Deportation Center at Notorious ‘Angola’ Prison.

PULSE POINTS

âť“WHAT HAPPENED: A federal immigration detention facility is set to open at the Louisiana State Penitentiary to accommodate illegal immigrants detained under President Donald J. Trump’s immigration enforcement efforts.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: President Donald Trump, Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry (R), Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, and federal authorities.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Announced on September 3, 2025, at the Louisiana State Penitentiary, known as “Angola.”

💬KEY QUOTE: “This facility is designed to hold criminal illegal aliens, the worst of the worst,” said Gov. Landry.

🎯IMPACT: The facility aims to deter illegal immigration and house up to 400 detainees, adding to the over 60,000 already in detention.

IN FULL

A new federal immigration detention facility is set to open on the grounds of the notorious Louisiana State Penitentiary, commonly known as “Angola.” The facility, dubbed the “Louisiana Lockup” by the Trump administration, has already received 51 detainees and is projected to reach its 400-person capacity in the coming months, according to Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry (R).

Speaking with the media on Wednesday, Landry explained that the facility will be used to detain “the worst of the worst” and house the “most violent offenders” in “a single deportation and holding facility.” He added, “If you don’t think that they belong in somewhere like this, you’ve got a problem.”

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem highlighted the facility’s “legendary” reputation, but acknowledged that the detained illegal immigrants would be kept separate from the prison’s general population. According to Noem, the detention wing of the facility will be operated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) contractors and house “high-risk” illegal immigrants, including those with prior convictions for murder, sexual assault, and child pornography.

At a press conference, Noem emphasized the consequences for those who commit serious crimes and are in the country illegally, warning, “You’re going to end up here.”

The Trump administration has been collaborating with state and local authorities, as well as the private prison industry, to expand detention capacity for migrants awaiting deportation. This initiative includes similar facilities in Nebraska, Indiana, and Florida, often given alliterative names, with the Sunshine State’s “Alligator Alcatraz” being the most famous.

The establishment of the Angola facility follows a Barack Obama-appointed judge’s ruling that blocked further detainees from being sent to “Alligator Alcatraz.”

Trump’s Approval Rating Hits New High Amid Aggressive Crime Crackdown.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: President Donald J. Trump has reached a record high approval rating of 55 percent, according to a new poll by J.L. Partners.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: President Donald Trump, J.L. Partners, and 867 registered voters polled.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The poll was conducted between August 21 and September 1, with results released on September 4, 2025.

đź’¬KEY QUOTE: “This is the highest approval figure we have ever shown for Donald Trump,” said James Johnson, J.L. Partners co-founder.

🎯IMPACT: The approval rating boost reflects public support for the President’s actions on law and order, including federal intervention in Washington, D.C.

IN FULL

President Donald J. Trump has reached a peak approval rating of 55 percent, as reported by a new Daily Mail/J.L. Partners poll. Conducted from August 21 to September 1 with 867 registered voters, the survey reflects a six-point jump from July’s results, with a margin of error of 3.3 percent.

James Johnson, co-founder of J.L. Partners, stated, “This is the highest approval figure we have ever shown for Donald Trump.” The surge follows Trump’s August 11 executive order federalizing the police force in Washington, D.C., and deploying federal law enforcement and National Guard troops, which has achieved significant reductions in violent crime (39 percent), robberies (57 percent), and motor vehicle thefts (35 percent), per police data.

Johnson highlighted the favorable climate for Trump, noting, “It might seem surprising, but the news cycle has been ace for the President in recent days: his crime surge in D.C. is backed by the public, and economic news has been positive.” The U.S. economy expanded by 3.3 percent in the second quarter, with stable inflation, rising consumer spending, and growing personal incomes. The S&P 500 also hit five record highs in August.

Johnson remarked, “While overly online Democrats have been excitedly speculating about Trump’s health, the American public simply thinks he’s getting on with the job—and give him a big thumbs up.”

Two-Tier Justice: No Prison for Migrant Who Sexually Assaulted White Teen.

PULSE POINTS

âť“WHAT HAPPENED: A migrant who sexually assaulted a 17-year-old girl in England, saying, “I’ve never been this close to a white woman,” has been spared prison.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Moffat Konofilia, a 48-year-old migrant, and a 17-year-old girl.

📍WHEN & WHERE: December 2023, Weymouth Beach in Dorset, England.

đź’¬KEY QUOTE: “I’ve never been this close to a white woman,” said Konofilia before assaulting his victim.

🎯IMPACT: The migrant was sentenced to an 18-month community order, sparking public anger and strengthening concerns over two-tier justice in Britain, with judges having recently handed heavy prison sentences to social media users like Lucy Connolly for posts critical of asylum seekers.

IN FULL

Moffat Konofilia, a 48-year-old migrant, has been spared prison in England after sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl on Weymouth Beach in Dorset. The attack took place in December 2023 while Konofilia was residing on the Bibby Stockholm migrant barge.

The court heard that Konofilia approached the teenager, complimented her skin, and made the comment, “I’ve never been this close to a white woman.” He then followed her to the beach, where he kissed her twice on the lips without her consent. He later pursued her into an ally, but she managed to allude him. The victim stated, “I felt intimidated, and his actions were sexually motivated. It had an impact on my existing anxiety and feelings of being safe.”

Prosecutor Robert Salame detailed how the girl recorded part of the encounter on her phone after becoming uncomfortable. Konofilia, who had been drinking, initially claimed the girl was 18 and denied kissing her, stating he only put an arm around her to comfort her.

The court handed Konofilia a proverbial slap on the wrist, in the form of an 18-month community order, including 60 hours of unpaid work, 26 rehabilitation activity days, and a 100-day alcohol abstinence monitoring tag. His lenient treatment contrasts starkly with that of people like Lucy Connolly, who received heavy prison sentences for sharing social media posts critical of asylum seekers in the wake of a mass stabbing in Southport by a migration-background teenager.

The generosity shown to Konofilia appears certain to reinforce the public’s growing belief that a two-tier justice system is in operation, with ethnic and religious minorities favored and white people disfavored, especially if they have right-wing views.

During the proceedings, Konofilia feigned gratitude to the British people, saying, “Thank you for looking after me.”

CBP Seizes $238K of Narcotics at Border Pass.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers in Eagle Pass, Texas, seized over $238,000 worth of narcotics during a single enforcement action.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: CBP officers, a 46-year-old Mexican man, and the Maverick County Sheriff’s Office.

📍WHEN & WHERE: August 31, 2025, at the Camino Real International Bridge in Eagle Pass, Texas.

💬KEY QUOTE: “This significant seizure was possible because of the continued vigilance and alertness our CBP officers put forth on a daily basis.” – Pete Beattie, Port Director, Eagle Pass Port of Entry

🎯IMPACT: The seizure underscores CBP’s ongoing role in protecting U.S. borders and preventing the flow of dangerous narcotics into the country.

IN FULL

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at Eagle Pass Port of Entry in Texas seized more than $238,000 in narcotics in a single enforcement action over the weekend. The seizure took place on August 31 at the Camino Real International Bridge.

A CBP officer referred a 2025 Nissan Frontier, driven by a 46-year-old Mexican man, for secondary inspection. During this examination, which included the use of a CBP canine and nonintrusive inspection technology, officers discovered packages hidden within the liner of a cooler. The packages contained 22.7 pounds of methamphetamine and 2.3 pounds of cocaine, with an estimated street value of $238,915.

CBP officers seized the narcotics and the vehicle. The Maverick County Sheriff’s Office arrested the driver and launched a criminal investigation.

“This significant seizure was possible because of the continued vigilance and alertness our CBP officers put forth on a daily basis,” said Pete Beattie, Port Director at Eagle Pass Port of Entry.

The seizure occurred just days before the U.S. military executed a strike against Tren de Aragua (TdA), designated a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) by President Donald J. Trump, in international waters. The strike, which took place on Tuesday in the southern Caribbean, resulted in the deaths of 11 drug traffickers.

U.S. Oil Production Hits All-Time High Under Trump.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: U.S. crude oil production hit an all-time high of 13.58 million barrels per day in June, marking a significant increase over the previous month.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Key contributors included Texas, New Mexico, and the offshore Gulf region.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The record-breaking production occurred in June 2025, with significant activity centered in the Permian Basin, the Gulf region, and other key basins in the U.S.

đź’¬KEY QUOTE: “The U.S. has now remained the world’s largest oil producer for six years in a row.” – Zacks Investment Research

🎯IMPACT: The surge in production is stabilizing global markets, boosting domestic energy security, and providing opportunities for key oil companies to thrive.

IN FULL

U.S. crude oil production reached a new all-time high of 13.58 million barrels per day in June, as President Donald J. Trump rolls back self-harming green policies and pursues “energy dominance.” The figure marks a significant increase from May.

Much of the surge in output comes from Texas, New Mexico, and offshore sites in the Gulf of America. These regions are producing at record levels.

At the policy level, the Trump administration has launched a sweeping overhaul of federal energy regulations aimed at boosting domestic production. In April, President Trump signed executive orders to roll back several Joe Biden-era environmental restrictions, including a federal moratorium on coal leasing and permitting delays. He has also unlocked 82 percent of the Alaska Petroleum Reserve for drilling.

In January, Trump’s nominee for Energy Secretary, Chris Wright, outlined a vision for achieving American energy dominance during his Senate confirmation hearing. Wright emphasized the need to remove burdensome regulations and support all forms of energy production, including fossil fuels, nuclear, and liquefied natural gas (LNG).

The Trump administration has stressed the economic benefits of its energy policy. On Labor Day, gas prices across the U.S. dropped to their lowest levels in five years. Energy officials credited the decline to expanded production and infrastructure improvements.

“President Trump campaigned on lowering costs and this Labor Day Weekend, the American people will see the results firsthand at the gas pump, with the lowest gas prices in years,” Wright said.

Rubio Backs Trump Strikes on Narco-Terrorists, Says More Are Coming.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that the Trump administration is intensifying its efforts against drug cartels by targeting them before they reach U.S. soil.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: President Donald J. Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and cartels and crime syndicates designated as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs), including Venezuela’s Tren de Aragua.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Recent press conference in Mexico and ongoing operations in the Southern Caribbean Sea near Venezuela.

💬KEY QUOTE: “What will stop them is when you blow them up. You get rid of them.” – Marco Rubio

🎯IMPACT: The U.S. has launched a new offensive against narco-terrorist organizations, signaling a shift in strategy to preemptively strike cartel operations.

IN FULL

President Donald J. Trump’s administration is intensifying its approach to combating international drug trafficking, shifting focus from interception at the U.S. border to proactive military action abroad. Secretary of State Marco Rubio outlined the new strategy during a press conference in Mexico, stating that the United States will now strike drug traffickers before they reach American soil.

“Interdiction doesn’t work because these drug cartels, what they do is they know they’re going to lose two percent of their cargo. They bake it into their economics,” Rubio said. “What will stop them is when you blow them up. You get rid of them.”

Rubio referenced a recent military operation in which U.S. intelligence tracked a drug boat associated with the Venezuelan criminal organization Tren de Aragua. “Instead of interdicting it, on the President’s orders, we blew it up, and it will happen again. Maybe it’s happening right now, I don’t know,” he said. The strike was carried out in the Southern Caribbean and resulted in the deaths of 11 traffickers. No U.S. personnel were harmed.

President Trump later confirmed the military action and warned drug traffickers: “Please let this serve as notice to anybody even thinking about bringing drugs into the United States of America. BEWARE!”

The move follows the deployment of U.S. military forces to waters near Venezuela, a country the administration accuses of harboring and supporting hostile criminal networks. Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, who is under a $50 million U.S. bounty for alleged cartel connections, condemned the strike and called it “the biggest threat” to regional stability in a century.

In addition to military actions, Trump has legally escalated his anti-cartel policy. In early 2025, he signed an executive order designating multiple transnational criminal groups, including the Sinaloa Cartel, Jalisco New Generation Cartel, MS-13, and Tren de Aragua, as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs). This designation took effect in February and marked a historic shift in how the U.S. classifies and targets cartels.

Trump also attempted to invoke the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to authorize the detention and deportation of cartel members in the U.S., particularly those linked to Tren de Aragua. A federal court later ruled that the application of the law was unlawful, but this may be appealed, and removals continue under separate laws.

The Trump administration’s aggressive posture follows a series of violent cartel incidents, including a January firefight in Starr County, Texas, where Mexican cartel operatives opened fire on U.S. Border Patrol agents. Officials described the encounter as part of a growing trend of cross-border attacks.

Trump Floats Military Deployment to Crush Crime in Democrat Stronghold.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: President Donald J. Trump suggested deploying federal troops to New Orleans, Louisiana, to address crime in the Democrat stronghold.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: President Donald J. Trump, Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry (R), and New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell (D).

📍WHEN & WHERE: Comments made September 3 in the Oval Office, referencing New Orleans and other cities.

đź’¬KEY QUOTE: “We’re going to be going to maybe Louisiana, and you have New Orleans, which has a crime problem. We’ll straighten that out in about two weeks.” – Donald Trump

🎯IMPACT: A Washington, D.C.-style federal crackdown in New Orleans could achieve a similarly dramatic decrease in crime.

IN FULL

President Donald J. Trump has floated the idea of deploying federal troops to New Orleans in response to rising crime in the city, similar to his ongoing federal crackdown on crime in Washington, D.C. Speaking from the Oval Office on September 3, Trump said, “We’re going to be going to maybe Louisiana, and you have New Orleans, which has a crime problem. We’ll straighten that out in about two weeks. It’ll take us two weeks, easier than D.C.”

Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry, a Republican, welcomed the proposal, posting a clip of Trump’s remarks on X (formerly Twitter) and writing, “We will take President [Donald Trump’s] help from New Orleans to Shreveport!”

While Republicans control the state government in Louisiana, New Orleans is a Democratic stronghold, voting for former Vice President Kamala Harris by over 80 percent in 2024 and electing Democrat LaToya Cantrell as Mayor.

Trump has previously used federal law enforcement and National Guard troops to address violent crime and civil unrest in major cities. In Washington, D.C., he recently federalized the Metropolitan Police Department for 30 days and deployed Guardsmen and federal law enforcement personnel to assist them, a move that saw more than 700 arrests and a sharp drop in violent crime.

A recent poll found that most voters supported the D.C. crackdown, with 54 percent calling it “justified and necessary.” Support was especially strong among Republicans, but nearly half of independents and even over a quarter of Democrats agreed with the move. Trump has said similar strategies could soon be rolled out in cities like other Democrat-run crime hotspots like Chicago and New York.

Earlier this year, Trump’s deployment of the National Guard and U.S. Marines to Los Angeles, California, during pro-illegal immigrant riots faced legal challenges, with lawyers for Governor Gavin Newsom (D) arguing it violated laws limiting military involvement in domestic law enforcement. The matter is still being fought out in the courts.

This State Plans to Eliminate Childhood Vaccine Mandates.

PULSE POINTS

❓WHAT HAPPENED: Plans to phase out all childhood vaccine mandates have been announced by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R), alongside the creation of a state-level “Make America Healthy Again” commission.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Governor DeSantis, state Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo, Lt. Gov. Jay Collins, and DeSantis’s wife, Casey.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Announced September 3 in Valrico, Florida, during a news conference in the Tampa area.

💬KEY QUOTE: “They don’t have the right to tell you what to put in your body. Take it away from them.” – Dr. Joseph Ladapo

🎯IMPACT: If implemented, Florida would become the first state to eliminate such extensive vaccine mandates, with a broader “medical freedom package” expected in the next legislative session.

IN FULL

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) announced on September 3 that his administration will begin phasing out all childhood vaccine mandates, marking a significant shift in public health policy. The move, unveiled during a press conference in Valrico, near Tampa, builds on an ongoing push to limit government intervention in personal medical decisions.

State Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo strongly criticized current vaccine requirements, calling them an “immoral” intrusion on individual rights and likening them to “slavery.” He framed the policy shift as a matter of personal and parental autonomy. “People have a right to make their own decisions, informed decisions,” Ladapo said. “They don’t have the right to tell you what to put in your body. Take it away from them.”

While the Florida Department of Health has the authority to eliminate some vaccine mandates, removing others, such as those for measles, chickenpox, and polio, required for school and daycare, will require legislative approval. DeSantis confirmed that the ultimate goal is to end all state-level vaccine mandates for children.

Alongside the mandate phase-out, DeSantis also launched a “Make America Healthy Again” (MAHA) commission, a Robert F. Kennedy Jr.-inspired state panel aimed at promoting informed consent, parental rights, and questioning entrenched medical norms. The commission will be chaired by Lt. Gov. Jay Collins (R) and First Lady Casey DeSantis. “We’re getting government out of the way, getting government out of your lives,” Collins said during the event. The MAHA commission’s recommendations will form the basis for introducing a broader “medical freedom package” during the next legislative session. “There will be a broad package,” DeSantis said, underscoring his administration’s stance against federal health mandates.

Florida’s push aligns with growing national scrutiny of vaccine policy, including recent high-profile actions taken by Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. In June, Kennedy “retired” all 17 members of the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), saying the panel had become compromised by conflicts of interest and had lost public trust.

Kennedy Jr. argued the committee served as “little more than a rubber stamp for any vaccine.” Later that month, he withdrew U.S. funding from a global vaccine initiative backed by Bill Gates.
