❓ WHAT HAPPENED: Former two-weight world mixed martial arts champion Conor McGregor called for an immediate end to Third World immigration and the mass deportation of all illegal immigrants after a Sudanese refugee allegedly attempted to behead a man in Belfast, Northern Ireland. 📺 DETAIL: On Monday evening, Hadi Alodid allegedly attempted to behead a local man, Stephen Ogilvie, with a kitchen knife. Alodid entered Northern Ireland, which is part of the United Kingdom, via the open border with the Republic of Ireland, in the European Union, having previously flown to Dublin from Paris, France. The British authorities granted him leave to remain after he claimed asylum, despite the fact that he had passed through at least two safe European countries. Following the attack, violent protests erupted across Belfast, with houses believed to be hosting migrants, public transportation, and local businesses set on fire. In response to Alodid’s alleged attack, UFC star Conor McGregor called for an end to immigration from Third World countries, as well as the deportation of all illegal immigrants on X (formerly Twitter). The former featherweight and lightweight champion called on the Irish government to “CLOSE THE BORDERS” and “Ban all immigration from the 3rd world IMMEDIATELY!” McGregor further encouraged politicians to “Help them [migrants] from where they are.” McGregor has previously voiced concerns that Ireland risks “losing its Irishness” due to the “illegal immigration racket.” 💬 KEY QUOTE: “CLOSE THE BORDERS. Enter IPAS centres [residential facilities in the Republic of Ireland that provide temporary housing, meals, and support services to asylum seekers] militarily and remove all illegal entrants from this island. Inviting and financing mentally deranged people from the 3rd world is a hard no. Get them out. Stop them coming. We say no to this.” – Conor McGregor 🎯 IMPACT: McGregor’s comments reflect widespread public anger at the incident and the response of the political class to the attempted beheading. His comments are likely to draw more attention to the incident and influence public opinion. |
