Former President Donald Trump has said he wouldn’t give Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador “10 cents” in response to Obrador’s recent demand that Biden government pay billions of dollars in ‘aid’ to his country and others.
Trump’s comments came during a recent interview with Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade. “On ‘60 Minutes,’ the president of Mexico says, ‘We’re not going to shut down our border until you change your policy on Cuba and change your policy on Venezuela.’ Is it OK for the Mexican president to dictate American policy?” asked Kilmeade.
“Well, he said much more than that. He said he wants $10 billion essentially just to talk, $10 billion to talk, and that’s come out since, and no, that wouldn’t happen with me, with the wall,” Trump responded.
Trump blamed Joe Biden’s weakness on the world stage and ‘lack of respect’ among foreign leaders for the Mexican president’s demands. “They would never say that to me. They would never say before we even talk. They want $10 billion a year, Mexico just asked for $10 billion a year. They would never ask it. I wouldn’t give them 10 cents,” Trump said.
During a recent interview on “60 Minutes,” Obrador proffered a list of demands in exchange for his government’s support in halting the surge of illegal aliens streaming across the U.S.-Mexico border. These included lifting sanctions on communist Cuba and Venezuela, granting blanket amnesty to Mexican illegals currently in the U.S., and $20 billion a year in aid to Latin American and Caribbean countries.
