A majority of Americans think cheating affected the 2022 mid-terms and will affect the 2024 presidential election. A majority also believe state and federal officials are ignoring evidence of wrongdoing.
Rasmussen Reports found that 52 percent of likely voters believe cheating affected the outcome of some races in 2022, and an even higher 54 percent believe cheating will affect the outcome of the presidential race in 2024.
Skepticism about the integrity of America’s elections by party affiliation is strongest among Republicans, with 68 percent doubting the legitimacy of the mid-terms and 69 percent predicting cheating in 2024.
A significant minority of Democrats also have doubts, however, with 41 percent suspecting cheating in 2022 and 46 percent predicting cheating next year, against 47 percent and 48 percent who do not.
Perhaps most significantly, 56 percent of likely voters believe “state and federal officials are ignoring evidence of widespread election fraud”, against 40 percent who do not.
This includes 74 percent of Republicans and 82 percent of conservatives, 44 percent of Democrats, 43 percent of moderates, and 20 percent of liberals.
