Twelve naturalized migrants have been accused of stealing approximately $10 million from American taxpayers via a fraudulent daycare center scheme, according to the Department of Justice.

In one example, Turkiya Mamdouh Alawad, a 63-year-old migrant from Syria, submitted attendance records to, and received subsequent payouts from, the CDA and the YMCA for January 2024, despite having been outside the United States between January 1, 2024, and January 30, 2024. The alleged fraud was conducted over several years, with some of the accused receiving over $1 million in fraudulent payments. They were arrested Thursday last week in a law enforcement operation involving over 250 officers. “Today is a bad day for home daycare fraud… These are the first charges alleging this type of fraud since the formation of the National Fraud Enforcement Division… These fraudsters may have criminally gamed the system before. But today, the game is over,” said U.S. Attorney Adam Gordon.

His father also said Crooks frequently talked to himself, had become more interested in firearms as a teenager, and eventually developed an interest in long-distance shooting, although he initially struggled to hit targets. The documents further state that an anonymous donor paid for Crooks’s cremation after he was killed by counter-snipers in Butler, adding another previously undisclosed detail to the ongoing investigation into the assassination attempt.

Democrat New York Governor Kathy Hochul has pardoned a migrant convicted of assault to block his deportation.

📺 DETAIL: Governor Hochul pardoned Keisy Guerrero Mariano, a migrant from the Dominican Republic, last month after the Trump administration sought to appeal a 2024 decision from the Second Circuit Court, which ruled that prolonged detention allowed migrants to claim a constitutional right to bond hearings. Mariano was convicted of second-degree assault in 2015 and detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in 2020 for his criminal record. He served time in prison and was marked for deportation. However, the Democrat governor’s pardon erased Mariano’s criminal record, nullifying the Supreme Court case and potentially protecting him from deportation.
